"Do you need aid?... You seem to be getting eaten."
Ninevee's voice almost sounded... amused at this turn of events.
As the Mi-Go continued to gnaw on Dale's head, he would begin to hear the creature's thoughts. It's non-euclidean thought patterns echoed through his mind. Whispering secrets that would make little sense to Dale's weakened psyche.
Dale could only wince as the creature gnawed on his head, repeatedly bashing and cutting away at it. And come to think, why wasn't Ninevee helping?! He was hoping she'd help! And what was this thing putting in his brain!?
Skill 2: Poisoned Dagger | Inflicts a small amount of Pierce damage to one enemy that has a 10% chance of poisoning. | 8% HP | Tier 1
Skill 3: Media | Recovers a small amount of HP (20%) to allies. | 8 SP | Tier 1
Skill 4: Poison Boost | Increases odds of instilling Poison by 35% [25 Base] | Passive | Tier 2
Soul Skill Name: Sculpted Munitions Persona Name: Enkidu Tier: Tier 1 Cost: Passive Type of Damage: N/A Description: Each turn in a topic, Dale generates 1 Clay round, up to a maximum of 10. Clay rounds behave as Basic Rounds, but crumble after use and when given to someone else, rendering them useless. They do not carry over between topics, and cannot be sold even if somehow kept intact after leaving Dale's possession.
Relevant Strengths/Weaknesses:
—Strength Name: Ruthless Optimisation —Description: Due to the ‘niceties’ of his current lifestyle, Dale has been forced to get familiar with the intricacies of fighting people, developing a brutal and opportunistic style of combat with the focus of taking down an opponent as quickly as possible – by any means necessary. Dale is capable of attacking twice with his soulbound weapon.
—Strength Name: Cybernetic Resilience —Description: To put it simply, Dale is made of metal. Strong metal. That means he hits like he’s made of metal, and more importantly to his survival, takes hits like he’s made of metal. Dale takes 5% less damage from physical attacks, and typically hurts to punch.
—Strength Name: Variable Fuel Converter —Description: Dale has a variety of systems designed to enable him to ingest organic materials for power. And while he doesn’t need to worry about the likes of toxins or disease, he has had to have a lot of countermeasures implemented to prevent damage in case he consumes materials that are corrosive, or otherwise hazardous. Dale has 15% lower chances of being Poisoned.
----- —Racial Strength Name: Robust Firearm Design —Description: The Rampart doesn’t appear too impressive at first, at least where Dale’s from. It looks, for all intents and purposes, like a basic heavy energy pistol. But when you get to handling it, it’s very easy to see why it’s the sidearm of choice for anyone who could afford to use it. The Vydrata Rampart has three firing modes. Standard shot (revolver), rapid-discharge (machine-gun) and energy lance (sniper). The firing mode in use is indicated by the lights on the side of the gun – blue for standard, orange for rapid, and red for lance. So long as it is not currently being fired, Dale may switch firing modes on the Rampart however he pleases.
—Weakness Name: Entry Not Found —Description: Dale’s knowledge is critically lacking, be It law, social norms, or just common objects. He started off with a very baseline of necessary knowledge, and when you’re meant to be in a lab chamber for your entire life, you can get away with removing a surprising amount from that baseline. Dale has a 15% reduction to his Pmstr.
—Weakness Name: Inadequate Thermal Regulation —Description: While Dale is fine at most temperatures, severe cold has a more pronounced negative impact on him compared to other individuals. Dale receives 15% more damage from Ice based attacks.
—Weakness Name: Outside Scope of Design —Description: Even if Dale has managed to exceed the expectations of his initial design, the fact remains – he wasn’t designed to do the things he can. As such, he’s missing a lot of the countermeasures that would mitigate the issues involved in performing these feats, making all of these superhuman feats very physically taxing. When in Orgia mode, Physical skills are half cost instead of free.
—Weakness Name: Hyperactive Threat Assessment —Description: Dale is paranoid. Quite paranoid indeed. He got that way within a week of being out, and it served him all too well since then. But that doesn’t mean the way he’ll jump at shadows is in any way good. It is 15% easier to inflict Fear on Dale.
----- —Racial Weakness Name: Hardware Compatibility Issues —Description: The Rampart was originally designed to work with a very specific type of high-capacity power cell, which allowed a ridiculous amount of usage without any concern of power. Not the cheapest, but if you could afford a Rampart, then you could probably manage. They were also compatible with a variety of other, more common cells. You didn’t get as much output, but you still got usage in line with typical standards, so it was still worthwhile. Dale, thankfully, has been able to find power cells compatible with his stolen gun on Junction. Unfortunately for him, however, they definitely don’t have the same form factor as anything back where he’s from, and the mechanisms for reloading are not the easiest to work with.
The Vydrata can only fit five rounds. Once all the bullets have been expended, Dale will have to spend a turn on reloading his gun before it can be fired again. Should he try to use the Rampart’s rapid-fire mode while he has less than three rounds remaining, he will instead fire however many rounds remain, but otherwise the behaviour is the same.
Action:
Another soulbound attack, as before - 2 hits, 24 Slash for each that lands.
"If I were to step in now I would only serve to weaken you. Conquer your void..."
Ninevee's voice returned to it's normal dull and monotone cadence, clearly serious in her intent.
The Mi-Go's grip loosened as Dale continued to hack at it. Streams of black ichor poured from it as it attempted to claw and cut at Dale with it's razor sharp for limbs.
"...that still wasn't funny." He could feel his freedom coming as the thing's grip loosened, and a panic coming on as it started leaking black goo. He felt power surge through him as he turned aside a clawing limb and returned its attack. He was dealing with this thing one way or another. "Enkidu!"
A mighty roar sounded out from Chip as he called the beast-man forth, Dale feeling the fatigue wear down from the supportive presence of the clay being. Renewed and invigorated, he pressed on with his weapon, continuing to hack away.

Activating Orgia. Turn 1/3.
Action 1 - Media. Recovering 16 HP. Current HP: 58/81
Action 2 - Double Soulbound. 24 Slash Damage each hit.
As the Mi-Go fell away, the Black Ichor that coated Dale and his blade would dry and fade away. The Mi-Go's body fell limp into the thin layer of black fluid, it's voice fading from Dale's mind.
"Dale..."
Ninevee approached Dale from behind, taking his overheating frame into a gentle embrace. Unless he resisted she would rest his head against her chest, allowing her body to act as a heatsink for his Orgia Mode."You are of Blue...You have great potential. Rest, you have done well." Dale would feel a healing light as Ninevee cracked a small gem in her hand over his head.
"But Enkidu isn't-?" Dale finds himself cut off by the sudden embrace, elbowing the enemy that had managed to escape his notice and jerking harshly away, standing ready to assault whatever it was...til reason creeps back to his fear-stricken mind, and he realises who he just did that to. "I...I didn't mean to. I just..." He falls quiet, dismissing his axe. "...that wasn't for you. That was...for not-you. Things that hurt me. That want to hurt me." There's an awkward silence. "...please don't do that when I can't see you. I don't want to do that again."
He'd remain still a while, letting Ninevee heal him...and should she try again, hold him, though it would be blatantly clear he was holding back an instinctive reaction from the contact. "...what do you mean, I am 'of Blue'? I don't think it's just the colour, but I don't know what that means..."
Eventually..."We...we can't stay here too long. We...need to move." A little remorseful from his prior actions, Dale approaches the split paths, reloading his weapon as he does.
Ninevee's eyes would widen as Dale struggled from her embrace. For a moment, the porcelain visage of her expressionless face would falter, as a flash of pain would take her. A drop of hurt, of surprise and disappointment... And in a moment, it was gone. Replaced not with monotone or a blank look, but with sorrow, with pity, with concern."You have been harmed... Been betrayed by those you thought you could trust, haven't you? By beings that cannot be predicted, who act out of fear and selfishness."
Ninevee would continue healing Dale, approaching with care and making sure not to make any sudden movements. Gently she would take his hand, asking permission with her gaze before continuing."The power of Persona, it is one of many outcomes of Void infection... It comes in two varieties. Persona of Red, and of Blue. Yours is of Blue. Those of Red have power unmatched, those of blue hold within themselves unlimited potential, but the road of blue is a long one...". The last of Dale's overheat would pass as Ninevee followed him. Her gaze returning to it's plain emotionless mask.

Dale wouldn't reply immediately. Down on the ground, Chip would look up at Ninevee, with expressive eyes that didn't belong to the bot that was using them. "...that's how it works. Everyone does things because they're good for them, somehow, or because they think it stops things that are bad for them. Otherwise, they don't do them." Dale didn't sound bitter or resigned, nor sad or cynical as he spoke the words. He said it like it was simple fact, long known. "There never was anyone to trust, except Chip...and Chip could never hurt me." The little dog looks back to Dale, eyes fading back to his own for a moment, before turning back to Ninevee with the bestial gaze of Enkidu. The little dog's head shakes, and it holds up one paw. There had been one, even if Dale wouldn't admit it.
As much as this void was supposed to be bad...it couldn't be too bad if it gave him Enkidu. "So...Red Personas are strong, but Blue ones can get stronger after long enough...?" This was interesting. "And since I'm Blue...how strong can I get...?"
The path further was right in front of him...but he thought he saw something the other way. He wanted to check that first.

"That is because Chip can be understood. His existence is one without end, and without limits. As an artificial lifeforms he is unbound by the cyclical drive of organics. As are you Dale." Ninevee would meet Chip's gaze unflinching. Clearly the envoker had an AI sophisticated enough to be protective of it's master.
"Put simply yes, your summary is mostly accurate. As a Blue you are theoretically without limits, however Blue persona cannot be qualitatively measured or their capabilities gauged before they are reached due to their tendency to grow suddenly. I, and most other nine frames, am of Red, and as such cannot fully comprehend the power of a Blue. Ninetee is also of Red. Though his growth period is almost at an end, while mine is still reaching it's middle point."

Dale didn't know what to say to that. As for Chip...he would look between Ninevee and Dale, and nod to Ninevee. As if to say they had an understanding.
That was a lot of words he didn't know. Umm..."So...you don't know how strong I can get til I get that strong? And you can't guess because you aren't a Blue?" He nods. "Right." "What makes you Red or Blue, though? Are you always Red, or always Blue?"
Before him Dale would see a massive wall, completely blocking off the tunnel. The wall stretchered from ceiling to floor, from wall to wall, seemingly made up entirely of meshed together beings. Each seemed to be completely petrified and hardened into a stone, yet they still continued to squirm...to shift and move. None had skin, nor any covering what so ever. If they were able to they had not yet noticed Dale's approach.
Ninevee eyed the structure without a word. Her gaze searching it for her companion.

It felt wrong. Walls weren't supposed to be made out of people. They weren't supposed to move either...not like that, anyway. And they weren't supposed to be there. He didn't know what this was, or how to get past it. He wasn't sure he wanted to know.
"It appears to be a wall of corpses. I would assume they all fell to their Void. As to why they have congregated as such... I am unsure."
Ninevee's eyes settled on a white, metallic form within the wall. Her neutral expression became a frown as she watched it squirm deeper into the structure and out of sight. "It appears that a ζζ has found it's way into the structure...How sad."
