The strange woman would say nothing, but nod and follow close behind as Dale rushed off. It would take a few moments for the pair to get back to the terminal that Dale had passed earlyer, in that time the woman would remain silent, her eyes focused on Dale's back as they ran. As they grew closer to the terminal, they would begin to hear a distant clanging, followed by a soft, yet sickening squelching....
As dale cautiously entered the terminal... the grizzly scene before him became apparent.
Strewn about the station were various dismembered body parts, arms, legs, torsos... even some severed heads and bodies cleanly bisected down he middle. Each freshly cut from whatever owned them, each oozing a mixture of black slime and blood from their stumps.
"Ninetee...."
The odd woman eyed the scene with sad eyes. Silently she would continue down the tracks and away from the station."He must have gone this way... Follow."

Dale...did not feel remorse over the deaths he was witnessing. No outrage or disgust, no regret or wish to save the people who were now strewn about in pieces. Their lives just didn't matter to him. He'd no reason to care about their fates. The black slime, though? He cared about that. It was one thing he'd be all too happy never to be exposed to again. And the bodies themselves? The one factor he cared about was how easily they'd been cut into pieces - the sheer level of devastation achieved, and quickly as well. Both these things terrified him. He could, and would, pointedly avoid the slime. But to stick with this junc-son and get answer, he'd have to go after the one who caused all this. No matter how much he didn't want to.
... ..... .......
In the end, Dale follows after the strange woman he'd come to see. But he can't control the way his senses alight when he does, hyperaware of even the tiniest signs around him. He wouldn't miss anything. He couldn't miss anything. Not if he wanted to be safe.

"Be careful, the path ahead is dark and winding...I shall let you take the lead, I will guard the rear, Dale."
... .. .
In the distance you hear the scuttling of clawed feet on hard steel.
And the rhythmic clang of a heavy blade as it is dragged along the train tracks.
Dungeon Key: Blue Stars: Entry Point. Way back to the terminal from whence you came.
Red Stars: Encounters, who knows what will be down here...
Green Stars: Scrap Piles and Treasure. Will be reviled when they become visible
Purple Areas: Obstacles that require RP to cross. Entering one of these spaces will prompt the puzzle, there are many solutions to these puzzles, but they must be completed before you can pass through the space.
Yellow Star: Stairs down.
As you continue more of the map will be relieved. As you are right now you can only see 5 spaces ahead of you and behind you. After each movement the next section of the map will be relieved. There are ways to extend your vision, think carefully and be creative.
Be brave Dale.
You are more capable then you know.

"A-alright..." Nothing about this situation felt good. He was looking for someone who could easily take his limbs from him, or worse. Before he could even see, if they were like the junc-son with him. He didn't want that. It was dark and hard to see, but he still had to go ahead. Still...he had Chip and Enkidu. He also had the junc-son that he came to see helping protect him. And for once, he didn't even doubt (too much) that they actually wanted to help, too. Things really had changed for him. They were strong too. Really strong. They got rid of that big black thing, and he couldn't even see how. And that was the one helping him. ...it felt good. It made him feel safer.
Tentatively, Dale starts to move forward. In an attempt to get more light to see by, he takes out his gun and flicks it to the Energy Lance setting, charging a shot so that the deadly blue light at the end of the barrel might give him a little more to see by as he holds it out in front of him. "...what's your...'designation'?"

"I am designated Ninevee..."
Ninevee would stay silent unless directly addressed. However, Dale could easily feel her eyes burning into the back of his head with their stare...Cold and lifeless.
The glow from his rifle did help slightly, however only in illuminating his immediate vicinity more. Around him he could see that the tunnels were coated in the slick black substance that he had become accustom with, along with the occasional body part.
In the distance... just on the edge of Dale's vision... he saw something shift and twitch, but from where he stood, it he could not make it out.

So, they were called Ninevee. Had to remember that. The stare he was subjected to was...less uncomfortable than would be expected. As much as it would unnerve another, the lack of malice or aggression was something more relieving after what he'd been through. It wasn't exactly nice, but it was far better than the alternative. What he was able to see with the new light, however... ...well, he found himself making an incredibly pointed effort not to touch anything.
As he saw the strange thing in the distance, Dale found himself glad he had another way to go. Even with help, it was better not to fight anything he didn't have to. Turning off his current path, Dale presses on.

"What does 'combat' mean...?" He pauses, contextual clues piecing together in his mind. "Wait...you mean fighting. Fighting those things." Well, it wasn't like he actually could avoid 'combat', as he was now finding. No matter which way he decided to go, he'd have to fight one of these things to keep going. Never a nice thing to deal with before but now...it seemed like he was going to have to do a lot more fighting than he ever had to before if he was going to get what he wanted. "Fighting when I didn't have to just made things worse before. Made noise, wasted energy, made it easier to get hurt, made people notice I didn't want to..." He pauses. "So...I can't get stronger without fighting? I have to fight things if I want to get stronger?" That...was not something he liked. But that didn't mean much right now. He didn't like the fact that there was that black goo that thing had tried to feed him everywhere, he didn't like that he was going after someone that was so much of a danger to him it was honestly more terrifying than every thing but possibly one he'd dealt with in the past, and he definitely didn't like whatever it was he was looking at that he was going to have to fight in a moment. He'd say he didn't have a choice, but he did this time, and he was going to do it anyway.
As his nerves rocketed in anticipation of the fight that was soon to come, he looked over to the little dog on his shoulder, and nodded. He hated letting Chip come down remotely near the black goo that was everywhere but if he was going to be fighting, it was better that he be able to move by himself. "Come on, Chip. Looks like we're going to be fighting again. let's get ready." The robotic pup hops down to the tracks as Dale turns his attention onto Ninevee, the words he wanted to say sticking a little. This fight itself was going to be bad enough just on his own, but the answer to what he was about to ask the strange android junc-son could be even worse than that. "...how much fighting did you have to do to get as strong as you are? You're...really strong. You do things I can't even see. And if you have to do that by fighting...how much did it take? How many fights before you could do that?"
...no putting it off any longer. Taking off towards the shape alongside Chip, he called his axe to his hand and fired off his shot in the direction of the shape as he ran, preparing for the fight. Had to hit first. Always hit first. Hitting first was how you won.

"I am a Nine frame. Combat is my purpose and as such I was designed for it. From my inception I have had an innate combat proficiency, however to achieve the stature I now possess... Countless times I have had to do battle."
Ninevee solemnly watched as the pair approached what was waiting ahead. She looked to Dale, somewhat eager to see what this young machine could do.
From the slick, dripping ceiling of the tunnel, dropped a long squirming form coated completely in the black ichor. It rested for a moment before shaking itself mostly clean in a sudden jerking manor. Slowly it flapped it's web like wings and impossibly took to the air, the beast towering over Dale and his companion as it's imcomprihensiable eyes bore into his mind, into the void within.

[center]"I am a Nine frame. Combat is my purpose and as such I was designed for it."
Dale had been expecting the answer to be uncomfortable...but not in the way it had actually turned out to be. Bad memories.
As the...thing, came off the roof, shaking black goo everywhere and pressing into his mind, the reaction came automatically. Not even thinking about what he was doing, he moved so that none of it would land on him and quickly switched the setting on his gun, letting loose a volley of shots towards the towering creature that now took to the air.

Relevant Strengths/Weaknesses:
—Strength Name: Ruthless Optimisation —Description: Due to the ‘niceties’ of his current lifestyle, Dale has been forced to get familiar with the intricacies of fighting people, developing a brutal and opportunistic style of combat with the focus of taking down an opponent as quickly as possible – by any means necessary. Dale is capable of attacking twice with his soulbound weapon.
—Strength Name: Cybernetic Resilience —Description: To put it simply, Dale is made of metal. Strong metal. That means he hits like he’s made of metal, and more importantly to his survival, takes hits like he’s made of metal. Dale takes 5% less damage from physical attacks, and typically hurts to punch.
—Strength Name: Variable Fuel Converter —Description: Dale has a variety of systems designed to enable him to ingest organic materials for power. And while he doesn’t need to worry about the likes of toxins or disease, he has had to have a lot of countermeasures implemented to prevent damage in case he consumes materials that are corrosive, or otherwise hazardous. Dale has 15% lower chances of being Poisoned.
----- —Racial Strength Name: Robust Firearm Design —Description: The Rampart doesn’t appear too impressive at first, at least where Dale’s from. It looks, for all intents and purposes, like a basic heavy energy pistol. But when you get to handling it, it’s very easy to see why it’s the sidearm of choice for anyone who could afford to use it. The Vydrata Rampart has three firing modes. Standard shot (revolver), rapid-discharge (machine-gun) and energy lance (sniper). The firing mode in use is indicated by the lights on the side of the gun – blue for standard, orange for rapid, and red for lance. So long as it is not currently being fired, Dale may switch firing modes on the Rampart however he pleases.
—Weakness Name: Entry Not Found —Description: Dale’s knowledge is critically lacking, be It law, social norms, or just common objects. He started off with a very baseline of necessary knowledge, and when you’re meant to be in a lab chamber for your entire life, you can get away with removing a surprising amount from that baseline. Dale has a 15% reduction to his Pmstr.
—Weakness Name: Inadequate Thermal Regulation —Description: While Dale is fine at most temperatures, severe cold has a more pronounced negative impact on him compared to other individuals. Dale receives 15% more damage from Ice based attacks.
—Weakness Name: Outside Scope of Design —Description: Even if Dale has managed to exceed the expectations of his initial design, the fact remains – he wasn’t designed to do the things he can. As such, he’s missing a lot of the countermeasures that would mitigate the issues involved in performing these feats, making all of these superhuman feats very physically taxing. When in Orgia mode, Physical skills are half cost instead of free.
—Weakness Name: Hyperactive Threat Assessment —Description: Dale is paranoid. Quite paranoid indeed. He got that way within a week of being out, and it served him all too well since then. But that doesn’t mean the way he’ll jump at shadows is in any way good. It is 15% easier to inflict Fear on Dale.
----- —Racial Weakness Name: Hardware Compatibility Issues —Description: The Rampart was originally designed to work with a very specific type of high-capacity power cell, which allowed a ridiculous amount of usage without any concern of power. Not the cheapest, but if you could afford a Rampart, then you could probably manage. They were also compatible with a variety of other, more common cells. You didn’t get as much output, but you still got usage in line with typical standards, so it was still worthwhile. Dale, thankfully, has been able to find power cells compatible with his stolen gun on Junction. Unfortunately for him, however, they definitely don’t have the same form factor as anything back where he’s from, and the mechanisms for reloading are not the easiest to work with.
The Vydrata can only fit five rounds. Once all the bullets have been expended, Dale will have to spend a turn on reloading his gun before it can be fired again. Should he try to use the Rampart’s rapid-fire mode while he has less than three rounds remaining, he will instead fire however many rounds remain, but otherwise the behaviour is the same.

He could at least guess what that meant. He filed that away for later. "Better than before, anyway...there were none of these things before I got here. Your 'weapon' is probably meant to hurt these things. Mine just hurts things."
Dale's eyes go wide as he feels the sudden burning in his mind. It could do that?! How did it do that?!
He needed to deal with it fast.
Gun down, Dale opts for a more personal approach, making vicious slashes with his axe.

Dale's attacks seemed to have an effect on the creature this time, staggering it back and forcing it to take a moment to correct it's flight. However, now that Dale was close, it took this opportunity to grasp him and pull him towards it's open maw.

Yeah...thing you used to hurt things. That's what it was. "Why is it interesting?" For him, it was just something that worked. Even better than it did before.
As the creature tries to pull him in, Dale's eyes go wide as he flashes back to the first thing that took a bite of him on Junction, and his attacks become far more frenzied and brutal.
