Onyx Rhine
“So the only rule in the end is that we have to win this game? Sounds like a rather simple goal for all the ado it’s getting.” Was that all it really was? Stopping someone from accomplishing their visions? If that was so though, how did this Aspect hunting fit into it all? There were still plenty questions that had mostly unknown answers, that was for sure. Also, books? Hm, how odd.
Regardless, they had a new fight to contend with, and Onyx would narrow his eyes at the strange trio of beings in front of them. The two ghostly things seemed to be the same as the one they’ve fought a while back. Though…’fresh blood?’. Were they..eating the third one that was with them before now? The thing seemed to be screaming…? It was really hard to tell whether that was a beast or not, as races around Junction were so varied, but there was certainly something unusual about this situation. The previous groups had worked together against them. They weren’t preying on each other. If that was a normal phenomenon, these monsters would just kill each other before they could step in, making their travels less turbulent than they were.
They say curiosity killed the cat…but he wasn’t a cat, right? Well, he wanted to see what was going on, so he would turn his focus on the tentacled figure for now.

Relevant Strengths/Weaknesses:
—Strength Name: Concentration (+10% to Buffs) —Description: Being as mind oriented as he is, Onyx has mastered the art of focusing himself completely on the action he’s doing and not letting himself get distracted too easily from his task. It allows him to use his awakened powers more effectively.
—Weakness Name: Mind over Matter (-10% damage to any attacks performed) —Description: Due to his immense focus on the mental side of things, Onyx is not so great at performing actions that require a good grasp of the physical environment.
—Racial Strength Name: Empathy —Description: Onyx was born with the ability to sense other people’s emotions, which is a trait appearing in about 1 in 1000 individuals of his race. This means that the man can naturally sense the current emotional states of the person/people that are around him, giving him the ability to understand them on a basic level, and be able to pick his own responses towards them more easily. (In combat, this ability allows Onyx to negotiate with enemies up to 5 levels higher than him, due to being able to be on the same wavelength as them by base)
—Racial Weakness Name: Emotion Overload —Description: All good things can turn bad in excess, and if there are people with extreme emotional states, or too many people with very conflicting ones, it can cause Onyx to become disoriented due to the overload of information his mind would need to process during such situations. (Gives a weakness to ailments in combat)

The same thought process seemed to pass through Horny's mind that the small fluffs thought. It did seem as though that one in particular was being... Tortured? By the others, or at least wasn't quite being treated the same as any of the other monsters they'd stumbled across down here. Though before he could open his mouth to say anything, it seemed Horny took the initiative and tried to question the thing. Probably for the best, he was never the best at tender situations with how much he tended to blather on. Though it didn't seem as though the strange thing was able to communicate... Or at least not verbally. Kuzi would tilt his head lightly as he saw how the creature was acting, there seemed to be something rhythmic about how it was bashing its chest with one arm. Was it trying to communicate? Did it want t-
"Hey look out!" The Dreedle would call out suddenly as the thing lashed out and attacked Onyx, before... Attacking itself? Were its two arms at war? It was the left arm that was trying to reach out and was the one slamming its chest before. Whereas the right was the one who attacked... Them both? Wait. For a few moments, Kuzi would let the sound of the creatures chest slams play on repeat in his head as he pulled his eyes away from looking at its now blood spraying arm. It sort of reminded him of something his Raiser had taught him in the past, rhe said that it could be useful if he ever needed to communicate with someone still in the unlikely event that the babel fields went down. Apparently the so called Morse code was a lot more universal than spoken languages. He'll admit, he's never had to use it properly outside of her lessons before so it took him a while to try and figure out what was meant, though after trying to tie what he did know together, he had a basic idea of what he was trying to mean.
"U-uhhh. Guys, I think he wants us to, uh. Kiiiilllll hiiimmm? Or at least the now dismembered part of him wanted us to, h-heh." Speaking these words, Denki would begin to form out of a cloud of mist, her eyes sparkling slightly as a flurry of cold wind began to encircle her. Before Denki would attack however, Kuzi tried his hardest to send a message back to the whimpering creature by slamming his paw down on a discarded piece of metal.
ta-"OW!" Shaking his paw off, Kuzi would stare down at a sharp bolt that was sticking out of the metal he'd decided to tap onto and glare at it, sticking his tongue out towards it immaturely as if he thought it somehow did it to him on purpose. "Stupid thing..."
tap TAP tap tap tap tap TAP TAP tap
He'd finish off his message with a slightly raised eye, watching his paw carefully to avoid that stupid bolt again. Hopefully he remembered the lessons his Rai had taught him...

The demon would hear what was said, inky orbs glancing at the book with curiosity as HABIT showed it to the group. Onyx seemed to compare the matter rather simply - a race with no rules except to win. He was pretty sure the others would probably think the same as he was when it came to the full matter: there was some catch to the whole deal. After all nothing in life was simple now was it? In any case, the demon would remain surprisingly quiet as his eyes drifted from the book that HABIT to the guy. “We like cryptic reads too. They are often times the best sort of reads,” he would say though what that meant was a mystery and one that would not be solved now since there were other things to attend to.
The demon’s focus would return to the situation at hand as he tilted his head and watched as Onyx tried to negotiate with the stranger with the unraveling face of flesh. The demon watched the whole exchange his eyebrow furrowing slightly at the behavior of the creature and the sounds he heard. He picked up on the fact that what the other was using was a form of Morse Code; however, without being able to write it all down and study it the demon was not quite sure what it was saying and would kind of throw figuring out meaning out of the window as it attacked Onyx and then ripped its own arm off, a sight that was rather fascinating to the creature who raised a hand to stiffle a chuckle. He was not phased by the blood, but more curious as to what the action was implying. Perhaps he would’ve thought more on this one, but the little one’s voice would distract him as the fluff translated the earlier message.
It wanted them to kill it? How curious. An enemy asking for such a thing….while apparently with something that had another agenda on its plate. Hmmm…
That aside, the demon would chuckle softly at the little one as he hurt his paw before trying again to send out a message to the creature. He heard the taps, but wondered if the creature still understood things with the side that tried to communicate ripped off. Well, well. He would just have to find out and apparently do some work too.
Onyx had backed off and it seemed the little one had tried to do something, but for whatever reason didn’t complete that thing. Ah well. Let’s see.
“Be careful you two. It seems our trek has become more dangerous.” the demon would say as he hunkered down a bit his inky wings spreading out slightly as gave into his own madness unleashing his aggression and lust for chaos and destruction.
"Hehe."
His form began to leak with ink and his already deranged grin became even worse as the fangs in his mouth grew and he began to drool a bit from that huge grin; however, the creature did not care as he pointed at the with one with the strange face of drooping flesh. As he did this material of the land would gather together to form a large bal ofl earth before dropping downward in an attempt to smash the one armed creature.

Yeah…that didn’t go all too well. It did seem he had been right though, as whatever this being used to be originally didn’t want to battle them. Was this some sort of parasite possession phenomenon? It did give the vibe of some beast trying to take over a body and control it. There were the tentacles, and then the half that was still normal. Whoever this guy was had met quite a sad fate. Onyx would have tried to help, but even he could tell that the lashes from that tentacled being were a bit too strong for him to keep taking. Perhaps letting the guy rest in peace was the best case scenario here…they technically did not have the tools to separate the two beings. Especially when they had no idea what was possessing the guy and how. Plus, it could end up killing them all before they figured out anything.
Speaking of which, it looked like he had gotten himself in quite the pinch. He didn’t really feel the pain of the attacks too much, but his mind certainly noticed as he ended up blacking out soon after the wind rush swept him backwards slightly. Well, that didn’t go great…

It seemed that the stubbing of his paw had caused some distraction to Denki's ability to charge up her attack, seemingly taking her longer than usual to be able to fire off a shot. Not that Kuzi noticed much as he was concentrating on trying to convey his message to the poor mutated man. Though before Denki had the time to finish her attack at all, something else happened that took Kuzi's full attention away from the enemies. Sure he got shoved back by the gust of wind and felt a little strange after something else hit him. Though he quickly felt better again as their... New ally provided aid. Honestly he was kinda scared what that guy was doing to make them better. Regardless, he'd notice the fact that Horny went down and didn't seem to be getting back up even after the healing wave washed over them.
Rushing over without much consideration of what else was going on around him. Kuzi would quickly be nudging his head into the side of Onyx's face trying to help him get back up. "H-hey! Y-you okay Horny? Hellooo? Come on I know you can get back up from this! I-I, uh... Ahhh. Come on! Get up!" The pink fluff would nudge suddenly a lot harder as Denki noticed this ordeal happening and diverted her efforts into helping her talkative owner out. Though she wouldn't look over at them directly, she didn't want to have to deal with being thanked later.

The demon would watch the situation unfold with his permanent grin in play. “How can blood be stale when the prey is still alive?” the demon would ask the strange creature that had been feasting on the other that still seemed to be human or at least hold some form of humanity in it. A man being devoured by a beast then?….Like him? Hmmm, he’d like to ask buuuttt...The enemy just had to go and mess up didn’t it? The mute creature would unleash a wind attack smacking everyone and apparently taking Onyx down.
The demon’s grin would turn into a fangy frown of disapproval as his eyes looked at the one that was down. Well that was not good and would you look at that, they had the nerve to attack both the horned guy and the little one again? One had terrible aim and the other a true eye of precision. Tsk. Tsk. Manners. Manners. What about him? Why did he not get to share in the pain?
Even more disappointed than before the demon would sigh as he saw the little one taking care of Onyx well that was good and HABIT was being useful with that healing wave, so that left him with the playmates eh? Alright. The demon was on the edge of making a move as he eyed the enemies when he heard the door open and in came? Oho. His frown would turn into a deranged grin of greeting. “Hehe. Purrfect timing Nagami. Come, come play with our curious friends,” the demon would say before turning his attention back to the enemy. Flipping his hand so that his palm was facing upward, the demon would move his fingers in a fashion that looked like he was gesturing for the creatures to come to him; however that was far from the truth. The action would charge the earth around them with magic so he could once more perform an attack.

Onyx would cough slightly as he felt himself regain consciousness a few moments later. Blinking a few times between fluffy and HABIT, he would do his best to regain focus as he worked to get a back on feet. “I’ll be fine…I think.”, he would state with a shake of his head before adding a bit towards their rabbit companion. “It’s easy for you to say while not getting attacked though.”, he would smirk faintly before turning his focus back towards the enemies…which came with another assault immediately. This was being quite troubling for some reason. Feeling a little dizzied from it all, the pale man would take a defensive stance for the moment, scouting out for opportunities. He did not want to get himself floored once again right away…

Kuzi would continue to shove his head against Onyx as he thankfully began to get back up to his feet, not that it helped much in reality but he still wanted to try to help the best he could. "H-heh... Glad you're still okay Onyx." The small creature would say with a light pant, giving the guy a slight smile to try and avoid showing how concerned he'd felt for the guy. "Okay, okay... Everything's fine. It's going okay. It's o-." The pink fluff would be struck once again by some strange dark energy as he was speaking, which he'd quickly just try to shake off and keep his focus. "-kay... Denki. Let's show these guys what we have in store for them too!"

Hmmm. How curious, the enemy did not answer his inquiry. Then were they only focused on making them bleed? Or...did it just not hear him? Hmmm. Very curious indeed, but something the demon didn’t linger on too much as he was distracted when Kuzi and HABIT decided to help Onyx out. They both seemed worried in their own way about him and while the demon could’ve hopped on this bandwagon of asking the guy questions. He surprisingly didn’t as he became quiet as he watched the others get the guy to his feet again with that permanent grin that held no warmth on his face as he observed them for a bit; however, his attention would soon be back on the enemies as they spoke and...screamed...yeah. That guy. Anyway as they made their unique sounds and attacked.
Well the strange tentacle guy tried to do something to him, but outside of looking weird whatever was suppose to happen didn’t happen to the demon; however, the other two did make their marks - one striking the fluff ball and the other landing some strange spell on Onyx.
“.....”
The grin turned into a fangy frown as the demon narrowed his eyes at the one that had struck Onyx. Without making a sound he would move his left hand, again summoning the power of the Earth to him before unleashing it upon his target right after Kuzi had unleashed his own icy attack.
