| An astute call led to an exemplary result and the demon fell. But they would become more fierce as the night dragged on. Most could keep up for the time being, it was only really one of them that had been damaged in one way which Susan would remedy. She stared at Gio dully before motioning her hand toward him, which Seshat appeared to draw her reed once more and alleviate his sense of malaise. But she did not speak quite yet. Susan was pacing herself of course, in both body and spirit and truth be told speaking to people was draining. She would motion with two fingers pointing forward, dipping them twice. "This way. Quickly," she uttered before taking off in a wisp. - Susan's Stats:

| He really had to give it to Susan, as much as he hated it, she was doing her job. Everything was pretty smooth like the flowing river those Mulan songs keep harping about. They were getting some good dosh from this gig as they were making sausage-like mincemeat from these poor sons of bitches. But hell, it wasn't like Joseph was going to drop any compliments her way any time soon. Because that would be too nice for him, right? "You getting used to this? Tonight might be much for some newcomers." Joseph shot a question over his shoulder at Isaac. New kid was holding up even when he was pretty behind in his powers. Hell, another one of those Forgotten weirdos? He knew Albrecht and Maria were disgusting strong in their own right. Goddamn, these people knew how to make his training look like it was made for the ease of a cerebral palsy child. But it was clear this dude wasn't in their level, far from it and it reflected in his movements and his powers. But thankfully it didn't mess up anything in this team, yet. The night really wasn't all that bad. Hell, if it was this piss easy, maybe he'd start messing around the streets and pretend to look like he was working. Neat, who knew you could actually look disgustingly important and lag around doing nothing at all? Joseph sure as hell didn't--oh, right. His dumb cop brothers lazing around like sloths picking off donuts from the pink box like a fruit tree. Would his family protest and give him shit for it? Sure, they would act all huffy and self-important with wagging and pointing fingers. But why would they even know anyway? Ha. In the distance, the Cadet began to notice strange, but moving shapes in the distance. It would appear odd to a normal human, but for a more experienced Cadet, it was easy to tell those were living beings. In this kind of shithole and on this kind of night, there was only one answer that waited ahead of them. Joseph tapped his blade against his shoulder with his eyes still glued on the figures. "We got company, let's move up and mop them up." It was odd being eager for this job. It wasn't like playing video games or whatever useless shit he did. But, sometimes it was cathartic to beat the shit out of these things. - Action:

| Isaac wasn't expecting the katana wielding guy to talk to him - wasn't expecting much in the way of actual conversation. But he certainly wasn't against it. The guy had a real serious demeanor about him, but the question was conversational enough. As they moved, large sword still in hand, Isaac nodded. "I'm good, yeah. Still pumped and ready for more. I was expecting to be a bit more worn out by now, but we've still got a ways to go. It's my first time fighting these things, but I kinda feel like I was born for it." He rolled his shoulders to stretch his muscles, and followed behind. He hadn't spoken much to the other two yet either. In reality, he felt like he was relying a lot on the power of his weapon. Which was to be expected, when that's where his power to fight demons came from. Still, it made him feel like he needed even more power for himself. It wasn't enough. Even if he was getting better already, he needed to strive further. He wanted to be able to stand beside Albrecht and Maria as equals some day. And for that, he needed experience more than anything. Drive he had, power he had, now there was only time to learn and grow. That was the worst part. Remembering how Susan scolded him still rubbed him a little wrong...he'd have to have a sit down with her and make sure they were square. He hated having misgivings about people, or when people had misgivings about him. Especially when it came to comrades. She had given solid orders so far, and they were making good progress and without a whole lot of damage on their ends. although that last one seemed to hit Gio pretty hard. Speaking of, he looked over his shoulder at Gio and rose his eyebrow. "What about you? you good? that looked like a nasty hit you took." He offered good-naturedly. "You took it like a champ though. You guys are all really tough. Looks like I have a ways to go." He joked with a smile. At Joseph's mention of Demons, Isaac's eyes narrowed back into mission mode, and he moved behind the other to engage. "Yeah, lets take it out." His eyes went to their commanding officer then, a quick glance to make sure their engagement was acceptable before he followed. - action:

| During her spirited sprint Susan had caught a brief glimpse of the enemies at the end of the alleyway and guided her team down an empty section. Fortunately toward the end happened to be more demonic essence which she took to pocketing. The team seemed to be in high spirits and it weighed on the tactician on whether or not she would ignore her nagging concerns or let sleeping dogs lie to preserve peace. But Susan never cared about avoiding the ginger toes of others, she would step on them to prove a point as unpopular as it made her. Popularity was irrelevant when compared to effectiveness. However she would mix the two if she were able. She did learn a small tidbit about Joseph, keyword "brothers", making this a family tradition and not a solitary act or one borne of admiration for his siblings so it seemed. She did think as she began to carefully walk back the way they came that it would be a wise idea to coordinate with civilian law enforcement to broaden their information network. She already piggy-backed off of dispatch when she was able. It was effective. And it explained where Joseph's discipline came from. "Agreed, but I did stress this was voluntary for new recruits and made the risks associated obvious. That being said I've done my best to arrange an optimal set-up across teams in terms of seniority to compensate. The combined rank of new recruits added together does not exceed the amount of promotions among the other members of the team. Which is why Team 1 has Officers Frost and Woodsworth." she explained. It was simple math but effective math, and meant that a larger number of recruits could be looked over more efficiently. Class 1 Cadets could be solely responsible for lower ranking Cadets but among themselves they only had Isaac as a team of Class 2 Cadets. This was optimal for growth of leadership and combat strength, though Joseph did have a point and she would have preferred recruits with little combat experience not be here at all but beggars could not be choosers, she would need to manage a multitude of team compositions one day. She would remain silent for the preparation for engagement and against her better judgement would let the latest transgression go. Mostly because there were more pressing concerns, but partly because she did not have the patience to deal with any more insubordination after the previous night. All things could be handled on the back end and she would practice what she preached. "Stack on the wall and follow Officer Kerrigan," she instructed in an uprising tone, stressing on how. Herself and Joseph were the only ones that had been pressing to walls she noticed. | Everyone closed with the enemy and Susan took up her normal battlestance, inching closer to form a line as they did so. Another nominal enemy, which meant standard conduct of battle applied. "Do not bother with speed increases, they will only help a nominal degree. As before, begin preparations to fight or probe weaknesses. Focus on the left target! Seshat, Ramah 'Aldaw!"Her mummified ghost would appear and sling bolts of light from its bony claws. - Susan's Stats:
