As Cecil replied, Tomomi nodded along. At least now, Cecil wasn't merely calling himself useless. That, to Tomomi, was improvement, and gave him a bit of faith that Cecil might... Be less hateful of himself? That was a term right?

All Tomomi did was wait, a bit concerned by the fact that every now and again Cecil would laugh. It wasn't a nice laughter, like before. It sounded a bit... Bitter.

"It's fine if you don't believe me right now. I'm happy to wait for you to believe me, at some point. And, I hope that there comes a point where the voice and you can find a medium both of you are happy with."

Cecil can't help but snicker again. "Come on, you're talking like it's some kind of completely separate entity. Frankly, it might be easier to deal with if it was." He shakes his head. "It's a product of my mind, and that's why it's so hard to escape. That voice? It's me, and I'm it. And that's always going to be the case."
He reaches out and takes another drink of water, almost laughing as the glass comes to his lips. Placing it down again, he runs his fingers through his hair. "It's strange how something so intrinsic can feel so separate."

It's me and I'm it... That was scarily similar to the words Tomomi himself had heard when awakening... I am thou, thou art I... Maybe when they were closer, Tomomi could... No. If he suspected anything like that of his friend, then he should know better than to question it. Sighing, the boy shrugged, before finishing off his lemonade. "I guess we still need to know more about each other, huh?"

Shaking his head, the boy let out another shrug. "That's fine though. I look forward to knowing you better friend!"

Cecil smiles wryly. "Me too. First, though..." He downs the rest of his water, and looks back to Tomomi. "I think I'd appreciate more lemonade right about now. Afterwards, I...guess we talk? Or, well, give Bash another go or something. Lower the stock count to one or two just in case."

He grins. "I mean...unless you're afraid of a repeat of last time." Cecil chuckles, and this time it's not as dark. "I mean, it's going to happen, but that doesn't mean you have to be scared. Shouldn't stop you from trying. Shouldn't stop you from trying to improve."
Just like with what happened. This was gonna come up again and again...but he could hardly do better if he didn't try to, could he?

Hearing a legitimate chuckle come from Cecil was a nice return to normality. At the suggestion, the boy stood up, plugging the technology back in. "Yeah! I look forward to learning how to not suck. Although, I don't think Rife is right for me... I'll probably use Lunk or something..."

This was better. And as they played games, had lemonade, and talked, Tomomi had fun, before helping Cecil get home safely as time passed. Bumps aside, it was a good day, and he felt he knew Cecil a little better.
