Hey it's another hang out! (Tomomi / Cecil)

A rainy day. Proof of the season. And with the day off from both work and school, Tomomi found himself sat at home, preparing to load up some video games. Yet just as he was about to turn on his old tv and his game playing machine, the Nintendo Yuu. If he was free, then maybe... Maybe that certain other person was also free!

Opening his phone, Tomomi went through his contacts, before sending a text.

Tomomi: hi cecil just wondering if youd be up for playing some video games today
Tomomi: if it makes it a better deal i have some lemonade and biscuits in

Cecil: That does make it better...
Cecil: I'll be there in a bit. Got some stuff to do, and the rain seems really bad right now.

Cecil lay still on his bed, fatigue permeating his body as his head throbbed.
He couldn't go over like this. He felt like he'd topple over and drown in the rain if he tried to go anywhere right now. God, why was he so tired...?

He couldn't remember what he was doing before now.

That was probably a bad sign.

The whole matter with Tomomi wasn't helping either...at some point, he'd been attacked, and he didn't even know. It ate at him. He'd failed him.
He couldn't show any of what he felt over that, though. And then, there was now, where Tomomi was probably hoping he could head over...he wanted to be right there, he should be right there, but god was he tired...

He picks up his phone again. Had to do at least this much.

Cecil: I can still talk, though.

At first, the reply from Cecil brought a smile to Tomomi's face. This smile, however, quickly shifted into a light frown at the second message. He was still coming, but to hear he was busy... Right. Just because Tomomi was free doesn't mean Cecil was. Thinking that was... Vain and selfish. Right.

Tomomi shook his head, sitting back down on his sofa-bed as he stared at his phone, demotivated for a time at the brief silence. Then another message came. From Cecil! And he was willing to talk!

At this, Tomomi tapped away at his phone, replying before even thinking of how he wanted to reply.

Tomomi: oh awesome! in that case first and most importantly how are you doing
Tomomi: oh and out of curiosity how long have you and nadya known each other
Tomomi: you dont need to answer that last one though im just really interested because its nice to see you making friends more and stuff

Messages shot in right after his last, and a struggling smile comes to Cecil's face as his phone comes alive. It was hard to deny what something like that meant.
As his eyes lazily scanned over the texts, he took a moment to work through the haze and try to remember exactly when their first meeting was. He knew they'd met...he was just surprised how curious he was about it.
When had they seen each other, he wondered...? What had they talked about? What did they know from each other?

...questions for when he was actually up to them.

Cecil: I'm...alright. Pretty tired.
Cecil: I think it's been around a month since I met Nadia? A little longer, even.
Cecil: But...yeah. It is nice.

At the replies, Tomomi's smile at being able to continue texting turned ever more into a frown once again. Tomomi wasn't the best at texting or online communication, but even he could see the ellipsis as a sign that Cecil wasn't really alright. The short replies that only answered as little as needed emphasised that. To Tomomi, this meant one of two things.

Either Cecil was currently unhappy and stressed, or... Or he was losing interest in Tomomi as a friend.

But there was no way to know, and if he pondered on those thoughts, Tomomi panicked that he might, well, panic. So instead, he decided to try make idle text chit chat.

Tomomi: awesome! also off topic but the weather has been definite picking up recently
Tomomi: a sign the seasons changed i guess. wish it didnt make work a bit more annoying though since its harder to use the picker when its wet
Tomomi: anyways i was just kind of ranting a bit there sorre. anyways much new with you

Cecil: Didn't realise we had enough of a defined topic to get off it.

His expression flicks up into a smirk briefly, before his face decides that's too much effort.

Cecil: It's fine. More than happy to listen to you rant about work.
Cecil: ...read you ranting about it.
Cecil: You get what I mean.

He really should sleep right now. A nap for a few hours, or maybe the next week sounds good right now. He just couldn't bring himself to let him have that.
He already agreed to head over...he wasn't sure whether that was a good idea, though.
What would Tomomi think if he turned up like this?
Or if he just...
Fell asleep once he was there.
That's not a great thing to do.

Cecil: I wouldn't say there's too much with me...
Apart from...Nadia. But I don't really know how to address that...
Cecil: I've started using the gym at school? It's tiring, but it's good for me.

Reading the next texts, Tomomi let out a light giggle to himself at what Cecil said, or, more accurately wrote. Maybe the fact that he was even texting like his usual self with literal corrections and a bit of awkwardness. It was nice to see.

At what came next, Tomomi grew mildly excited. Exercise? Cecil?! That was fantastic! Excitedly, Tomomi began to text out a reply.

Tomomi: oh awesome! im glad to hear you started taking exer um exer... moving stuff with your body stuff!
Tomomi: i dont no how to spell that word ill be honest
Tomomi: but anyways if you ever feel like getting into it id be happy to see you over at the martial arts club
Tomomi: its free to join and you dont even need to join to be able to try it
Tomomi: understand if your not interested tho

Cecil snickers.

Cecil: Exercise.
Cecil: There, now you know how to spell it!

The blond smiles softly as he lays back eyes briefly drifting shut.

A couple of minutes pass in the blink of an eye.

...shit. That wasn't meant to happen.

Cecil: Sorry, about the delay
Cecil: Just doing something
Cecil: What was I going to say
Cecil: Um
Cecil: Crap
Cecil: Forgot

He pauses.

Cecil: Anyway, uh
Cecil: I think I'm a little busy at the moment for clubs
Cecil: Or well, not BUSY busy, but
Cecil: ...you probably know what I'm doing.

At Cecil's correction and update on information, Tomomi grinned and nodded to himself, taking the information in and trying to make a mental note of it for later.

Then however, as he waited for Cecil to reply to his offer and suggestion, Tomomi's excitement dropped slowly. And slowly. Until Tomomi had found himself just staring at his phone with a somewhat dejected expression. Was Tomomi's initial thought process that Cecil didn't like him much anymore accurate?

Then, as if feeling all of Tomomi's supressed loneliness, the message popped up. So, Cecil was busy? Of course. He was just busy. It was all just in Tomomi's head, right. Regardless, the reply Tomomi got at the end of the stream of messages was... Somewhat disappointing. Letting out an audible sigh to himself, the litter boy began to type out his reply.

Tomomi: oh okay. but no worries. im guessing studying
Tomomi: how has that been going by the way

Cecil: It's been...

...he could lie, but he would be caught out easily.

Cecil: The same as ever, sadly.
Cecil: Even with what you said, it doesn't really stop.
Cecil: Some voices aren't easily silenced.
Cecil: Gym trips break it up, but...
Cecil: I can't help but wonder if I'll make another bad habit of that too.

Reading through the texts, Tomomi's frown kept up. Then he typed out a reply.

Tomomi: ah. have you talked to nadia about this
Tomomi: i dont really know what to say but she might
Tomomi: and as advice for the gym stuff make sure to take a lot of breaks with it while doing no more than once every two days to allow your muscles and body time to recover
Tomomi: rest is the most important thing for the body after all

Cecil: What do you mean?
Cecil: I mean
Cecil: Not
Cecil: Not the gym stuff, but
Cecil: Talked to Nadia about what?

He felt like he should know, but there was a haze that made him unclear as to what part of that he should be talking to Nadia about. It was something he'd said, obviously, but what? There wasn't anything that stuck out in his mind as something he direly needed to bring up.
It was...something that Tomomi didn't know how to remark on?
He felt like an idiot.
A tired, foolish moron who couldn't even remember what he'd been doing up to this point.

Cecil: And it's not like I'm doing anything terribly intensive. I'm just on the treadmill right now.

Tomomi: i mean talk to nadia about like the hole over doing it thing
Tomomi: she may have some ideas on how to help with that so you dont wipe yourself out but still keep yourself motivated for whatever you want to do in the future
Tomomi: also with the exercice stuff i hope you are remembering to stretch before doing it and after to avoid muscle problems and ackes also treadmill can be pretty intense since it is also heart exercise so please be careful not to over do that

Sighing, Tomomi took his phone and walked down to the outside, looking at the rain through the door. It showed no signs of stopping.

Tomomi: dont worry about coming over by the way since the rain is still going
Tomomi: we can always hang out another time

Cecil: Oh. Right.

That should have been obvious, yeah.

Cecil: It's fine. It's not her problem to deal with.
Cecil: Pretty sure I give you two enough to handle as is.

...if he knew anything, Tomomi really was hoping he'd head over. He knew that much. He wasn't sure he wanted to imagine how disappointed he'd be if he wasn't able to.
Stupid him.
Stupid rain.
And stupid him again.

Cecil: ...I'd be right over, rain or no rain.
Cecil: I just don't think I'm in any state to go out, right now.

At the rest of Cecil's messages back, Tomomi looked at his phone idly for a moment, before stepping back inside and shutting the door behind him. Honestly, he'd hoped it was the rain. If it was the rain, then maybe it would give Tomomi some clarity and reassurance that he was wanted. That wasn't it though. Every logical part of Tomomi told him that Cecil was just over working himself. But that seed of doubt in his mind that told him he wasn't wanted anymore...

Tomomi: oh why didnt you say so. well actually never mind i know you dont really like to talk about that kind of stuff so never mind that but still
Tomomi: it doesnt matter too much anyways if youre exausted then go rest friend we can talk and hang out another day okay
Tomomi: why dont you just rest up okay? we can talk again another day. ill even make sure to get fresh lemonade in. any brand preference?
