Back Ally Hold Up (Irvine)

With a sly snark on her face, Gear would now be looking down at a screen on her wrist. Tapping away at something. She'd take a brief moment to hold up one finger as if asking the guy to wait. "You're not the issue here, reaper. Give me a moment."

Irvine waits...and finds himself waiting a bit. "Whatever the issue is happens to be taking a while, huh?" He sighs, and picks a wall to lean on and trail shadows in the air from. "I have to wonder why I have to suffer for it if I'm not the one at fault here."

Hmph. Clever lad. "The issue is tied closely to my work. Sorry buster, but if it's not resolved I may not be able to serve what you're after today." The tech head would scroll through something, seemingly amused by whatever it was that she was reading. "Can you believe some people? Talk as if they know the world. Pretend their future is clear. Idiots. Stone cold idiots."

"I'd ask why you acted like I'd kicked your dog and backed up your plumbing if it's a work issue, but I figure answers aren't coming fast there." He shrugs, and moves onto simple shapes. The sun, the moon, a cat, a dog..."Though it seems like it's someone's fault from the sounds of it."
Irvine rolls his eyes. "It's hard not to believe it after you see it enough. You don't always know why they act like that, but it's easy to tell when it's worked through their head in all the worst possible ways."
"Or, you know, moderately terrible. Still a bunch of shit."

Gear would laugh, finding something deeper to what Irvine had said than was really there that just, tickled her. Though she'd quickly calm herself and simply shake her head at her wrist screen. "Glad you agree to a degree." She couldn't help but grin at the comment. "Though the stupid guy isn't even saying anything anymore. Not sure what more I can say for ya if he keeps radio silent like this. Stupid idiot has one clear and easy job. Could be over in a sewer rats heartbeat. But nooo, stuck up pricks have to keep their pride all high and mighty. Tss."

Irvine grins as Gear breaks out in laughter, relishing the amusement found in mocking the deserving. "They wouldn't be stuck up pricks if they didn't cling to their pride the way they chased that fleeting sense of self-worth. They need something to fill the hole in the meantime." He wipes away his current creations and reforms them into an animate shadow puppet, dressed in extravagant clothes and a massive dunce hat as he strutted in the way only the arrogant and inebriated could ever pull off. "Don't know what you're after, but here's hoping you knock a little sense into them."

The over teched woman would take a deep breath in and out, wiping away a tear from her eye as the grin on her face wouldn't go down no matter how hard she tried. Not only was the guy verbally talking shit with her, he was even using his little shadow tricks to take the piss. Priceless. "Couldn't of said it better myself." Gear would spend a moment looking directly at Irvine, though her stare seemed to piece more straight through him than at him directly. Still not talking yourself, huh? At least you can take the piss through another. "Fuck it. Wait here."

After some time had passed, the woman would return, taking a quick check of her wrist computer as she did so. "The idiot I was waiting on still isn't responding. But fuck it, you made me laugh, you made this annoying conversation not complete gutter trash." As she was saying this, Gear would flick over a node she was carrying in her hand and take the money that was offered up to her earlier in exchange. "Just try not to let stuck up idiots like that get in your head, nasty business, especially when you don't even realise it."

Bingo. Practice definitely made perfect. "I don't know...pretty sure you'd do a good telling too from what I've seen."
Irvine meets the stare with a neutral, somewhat curious gaze of his own, pondering just what the woman was looking at. Somehow, it tied to him...even if he didn't know how.
Hmm.

He waits patiently as Gear moves off, continuing his shadow puppetry until her return, when he catches the node with relative ease. "Annoying? I need to step up my game a little more." He chuckles as he looks over the node. "Ah well. Hear you loud and clear. Can't let folks like that get you miserable."
He pushes off the wall as his eyes flick over to Gear again. "Anything else, or is it time for me to make myself scarce?"

"Tss... Hmm?" Gear would look back up at Irvine after some 'radio silence' and smirk. "Yeah you best scram. Bad for business talking to the rats, don't let people see that node and whatever else bullshit I'm meant to tell you. If ya ever wanna talk shit about someone behind their back, hit me up sometime, off hours obviously." With that, Gear wouldn't even wait for a response before reaching up for and pulling down a metal sheet to protect what was behind the counter that had "CLOSED" spray painted across it in red paint. She'd then turn and begin walking towards a back exit of the store, throwing up her robotic arm and flicking her wrist in a 'sort' of wave. "Toodles."

Irvine watches and grins as the shutters slam down and Gear takes their exit. "I guess I'll see you then."

With a wave of his own, Irvine leaves, the shadows he'd left behind dissipating into nothingness.
