The pile of flesh seemed oddly reminiscent of the one that Dale himself had just created, red mixing with black in a swirling puddle of chunky viscera.
However, unlike the golem that Dale had just faced, this seemed to be much, much more meat. Held together not with stitches and wire, but seemingly all from one big piece. Also dissimilar to Dale's own work, these cuts seemed much cleaner, almost as if whatever creature had been cut up was split at the molecular level...
"This is surely the work of Ninetee... He has been through here."

Dale shudders at the information. He didn't want to know how big that thing was before this happened...though as much as the work terrified him, he would have loved to know how to make cuts like the one he was seeing himself. If it wasn't for some pieces of the pile that were obviously separate, and the general uneven shape, it would be hard to tell it was cut at all. "How does Ninetee do this...?" Using his summoned axe, he bats apart and separates the pieces, fearful that the black goo will remake it into something terrifying if it's not pulled apart and hopeful that he can learn more by seeing the separate bits. There might even have been something in it.
Ninevee looked at Dale as if he had just asked the simplest question he possibly could have.
As Dale fumbled through the chopped bits, he would find nothing but faces similar to the ones he had seen in the previous wall, and chunks of still bleeding, still undulating flesh.

Just as Ninevee thought Dale's first question simple, Dale believed his next to be the logical follow-up. "What's a sword, and how does it cut this good?"
Finding nought but discomfort in the pile, and satisfied with the separation of it as he looked about at the chunks of meat he'd battered everywhere, Dale keeps moving.
"Ah, I understand, this is another effect of your cognitive damage. A sword, in common terms, is a long bladed weapon greater then a knife or dagger in length. They are commonly used for thrusting, slashing or hacking. There are several different types of blade that fall under the sword categorization, however the type of blade used by Ninetee can be catagorized as a Zweihander. Zweihander's are commonly long heavy slashing blades upwards of seven standards length units in length. However, Ninetee's Blade differs from the standard Zwihander as it shares commonality with the Falchion as it's thickness and single edge. Unlike my Heavy Mass Accelerator which was developed to disintegrate targets upon impact, Ninetee's... sigh... Destiny Divider... Was designed to separate by erasing matter as it encounters it. Would you like to explain further?"

Dale listens with rapt focus, soaking in the words as best he can. Chip seems to listen as well somehow, though with less fascination and more concern. An alarmed "What?!" sounds from the pooch at the explanation of the arsenals of the Nine Frames, though Dale doesn't appear to notice.
So...he had to think. As much as a lot of what was said went over his head, the bits he did get helped him figure out the rest. He didn't know what 'bladed' meant, but he knew what a knife was, thankfully. If knives weren't just a length comparison, then...swords were kinda like a bigger knife? And if that probably meant bladed meant it. It things. ...kind of obvious, thinking about it now. And not all bladed things were swords...hmm. For now, Sword = Big Knife. Zweihanders were really big from the sounds of it. Heavy, too. He didn't know what a standard unit was still, but thinking about it...he'd heard that before, hadn't he? That chasing person that told him to find a CWIS terminal. Said he was looking for a normal person, and they were 6 standard units tall. Baseline Human meant normal people, so think about how big a normal person was, split that up... He thought he has an idea how long one was now. Right. He filed that away in his mind. ...wait. Normal people were 6 Units. This Zweihander thing was 7 or more. .... Well, that was an alarming realisation. "There are kni- wait no, wrong word...there are swords bigger than normal people?! And he can USE that normally?!" Of course it was heavy if it was that big. Lots of reach, hit hard, but you had to swing that! And from what he'd seen, he could swing that REALLY, REALLY FAST. How strong did you have to be to do that?!
Finally...he assumed the "Heavy Mass Accelerator" was the thing Ninevee used to get rid of that...void wall. He could guess from there disintegrating things just meant it was hot enough to turn burn everything to powder...or just melt it a lot. But... erasing matter? "What do you mean by-"
It means making things not be things any more.
"W-what does that-"
It touches it, and then it's not there anymore. It's not anywhere anymore. It's gone forever.
"But how-"
I don't know, Dale. I'm not supposed to tell you anything anyway.
"...then why tell me this?"
Because you need to know this. But everything else, you have to find out yourself.
"...okay. If you say so."
It was scary to think of as he moved forward, but at the same time..."...can I get a...'matter erasing sword'?"

"It would be rather difficult, however it could be done... The process is a long and arduous one. Are you certain you wish to gain a weapon such as Ninetee's"
As Dale continued from where he encountered Ninetee's handywork... He would once again find himself surrounded by the black substance, and another unholy insectoid creature staring him down.

Long and...it'd be hard basically, but he could get one? "Not exactly, not something that heavy and slow...for people that aren't Ninetee...but if what Enkidu says is right, that kind of 'weapon' sounds really good to have. Scary, but...good. Even if I wonder how it works. Stupid to give up just because it's hard."
Dale's eyes flicked about as he saw the black goo about, and another one of the creatures that- "I WON'T LET YOU EAT ME!" -tried to do that.
Once more, he opened fire, as had become a custom.
Skill 2: Poisoned Dagger | Inflicts a small amount of Pierce damage to one enemy that has a 10% chance of poisoning. | 8% HP | Tier 1
Skill 3: Media | Recovers a small amount of HP (20%) to allies. | 8 SP | Tier 1
Skill 4: Poison Boost | Increases odds of instilling Poison by 35% [25 Base] | Passive | Tier 2
Soul Skill Name: Sculpted Munitions Persona Name: Enkidu Tier: Tier 1 Cost: Passive Type of Damage: N/A Description: Each turn in a topic, Dale generates 1 Clay round, up to a maximum of 10. Clay rounds behave as Basic Rounds, but crumble after use and when given to someone else, rendering them useless. They do not carry over between topics, and cannot be sold even if somehow kept intact after leaving Dale's possession.
Relevant Strengths/Weaknesses:
—Strength Name: Ruthless Optimisation —Description: Due to the ‘niceties’ of his current lifestyle, Dale has been forced to get familiar with the intricacies of fighting people, developing a brutal and opportunistic style of combat with the focus of taking down an opponent as quickly as possible – by any means necessary. Dale is capable of attacking twice with his soulbound weapon.
—Strength Name: Cybernetic Resilience —Description: To put it simply, Dale is made of metal. Strong metal. That means he hits like he’s made of metal, and more importantly to his survival, takes hits like he’s made of metal. Dale takes 5% less damage from physical attacks, and typically hurts to punch.
—Strength Name: Variable Fuel Converter —Description: Dale has a variety of systems designed to enable him to ingest organic materials for power. And while he doesn’t need to worry about the likes of toxins or disease, he has had to have a lot of countermeasures implemented to prevent damage in case he consumes materials that are corrosive, or otherwise hazardous. Dale has 15% lower chances of being Poisoned.
----- —Racial Strength Name: Robust Firearm Design —Description: The Rampart doesn’t appear too impressive at first, at least where Dale’s from. It looks, for all intents and purposes, like a basic heavy energy pistol. But when you get to handling it, it’s very easy to see why it’s the sidearm of choice for anyone who could afford to use it. The Vydrata Rampart has three firing modes. Standard shot (revolver), rapid-discharge (machine-gun) and energy lance (sniper). The firing mode in use is indicated by the lights on the side of the gun – blue for standard, orange for rapid, and red for lance. So long as it is not currently being fired, Dale may switch firing modes on the Rampart however he pleases.
—Weakness Name: Entry Not Found —Description: Dale’s knowledge is critically lacking, be It law, social norms, or just common objects. He started off with a very baseline of necessary knowledge, and when you’re meant to be in a lab chamber for your entire life, you can get away with removing a surprising amount from that baseline. Dale has a 15% reduction to his Pmstr.
—Weakness Name: Inadequate Thermal Regulation —Description: While Dale is fine at most temperatures, severe cold has a more pronounced negative impact on him compared to other individuals. Dale receives 15% more damage from Ice based attacks.
—Weakness Name: Outside Scope of Design —Description: Even if Dale has managed to exceed the expectations of his initial design, the fact remains – he wasn’t designed to do the things he can. As such, he’s missing a lot of the countermeasures that would mitigate the issues involved in performing these feats, making all of these superhuman feats very physically taxing. When in Orgia mode, Physical skills are half cost instead of free.
—Weakness Name: Hyperactive Threat Assessment —Description: Dale is paranoid. Quite paranoid indeed. He got that way within a week of being out, and it served him all too well since then. But that doesn’t mean the way he’ll jump at shadows is in any way good. It is 15% easier to inflict Fear on Dale.
----- —Racial Weakness Name: Hardware Compatibility Issues —Description: The Rampart was originally designed to work with a very specific type of high-capacity power cell, which allowed a ridiculous amount of usage without any concern of power. Not the cheapest, but if you could afford a Rampart, then you could probably manage. They were also compatible with a variety of other, more common cells. You didn’t get as much output, but you still got usage in line with typical standards, so it was still worthwhile. Dale, thankfully, has been able to find power cells compatible with his stolen gun on Junction. Unfortunately for him, however, they definitely don’t have the same form factor as anything back where he’s from, and the mechanisms for reloading are not the easiest to work with.
The Vydrata can only fit five rounds. Once all the bullets have been expended, Dale will have to spend a turn on reloading his gun before it can be fired again. Should he try to use the Rampart’s rapid-fire mode while he has less than three rounds remaining, he will instead fire however many rounds remain, but otherwise the behaviour is the same.

Each flash of blue hammered into the creature before Dale, sending it off-kilter as they left their marks. Dale was on it in a flash, carving into it with all the might he could muster as power coursed through his body. If there was one thing he knew about these situations, it was that you pressed every opening you got...and chance presented, he was not about to miss it.
He would do to this what he did to the last. And this time, it wouldn't even be able to bring him into its maw.

"...nobody I think I ever want to meet." His grip tightened on his axe, holding it like a lifeline.
The thing was...it wasn't a thing anymore. Not in the 'matter erase' way, in the 'made it into something else' way. He'd...done this twice now. The first time was bad, but the next two..."How strong am I...? How not-strong were those things?"

"Perhaps you will be of use to me."
The words struck Dale, surprising him. He wasn't sure why. By all means, they were perfectly in line with what he'd come to expect of the world, with the way he knew everyone just wanted what was good for them. It would only make sense Ninevee wouldn't do anything with him if she didn't want something from him. In his mind, that was the only case it could be - if she thought he'd try to do anything bad to her, she was more than strong enough to make sure he'd never do anything again. She could have done it at any time while they were with each other. It would be easy. And so, since he didn't threaten her...she wanted something from him. Something she couldn't just take, whatever that was. Still...the possibility, the affirmation of what he knew still surprised him, and he didn't know why. It hit home, and he didn't understand it.
Dale slowly comes to a halt, more actively focused than he was before...on everything in the area. "...how am I useful, anyway...? What does it mean if I'm not...?" His words were measured and wary, and he looked...troubled. Shaken. Like he was dealing with something unpleasant and unfamiliar...or perhaps all too familiar, if you considered a perspective he wasn't willing to face then. If he needed to run, this was a really bad time for it.
