Welcome to New Arcana!
Welcome, Welcome! You've probably guessed by now, but this is a text-based Persona RPG site for Atlus fans, by Atlus fans. If you're new to Shin Megami Tensei, this place can still be for you, so no need to dash towards the doors! Your first stop should be the introduction board so we can introduce ourselves. Then right after that, feel free to go through our vital information to get a good feel of the site. We hope you enjoy your stay, and if you have any questions don't hesitate to post them here. Ciao!
Shin Megami Tensei and Persona belong to ATLUS. We own nothing, and have simply used their data to create a world of our own. They are the true geniuses behind the scenes.
About debuffs, they do not stack. Same with buffs. The highest relevant one will overtake the lower ones on a specific characteristic/stat. So for physical attacks, it's reduced by 30% due to the tarunda. Magic by 40% thanks to Makakunda.

Watching the Frog Prince obliterate the horde of winged beasts with vicious strikes of lightning while his weakened physical and ice attacks could just strike the hides of the beasts, the Knight sheathed his blade and made his way around the corner, keeping an eye out for the mask or another foe to slay. One side of the dungeon seemed structurally similar to the other, so going either direction from the start would likely land them in the same scenario. If the room around the corner was structured similarly, it would essentially be a dead end to the mask room. While the majority of the mask rooms would spit the group out on the opposite side, there would be no place to go except right back where they started. Was the fiddling skeleton getting closer? It didn't seem like it was getting any closer, hopefully losing their scent as they sped past it.
But this was it. The final stretch was before them. Shotaro already sped off with the blitzing rush of a shadow accel towards the final mask. Lui felt he could at least keep up with his own two feet, sprinting with a spring in his step. This was his first job for the playhouse, and it looks like they were going to finally dent the Queen's illusion of safety. The only question would be what to do with Invidia once they met him. This club owner apparently ate idols and could afford to have these hordes of demons watching over the club. Was he just some twisted human being or some form of monster working under the Queen? Fighting him would likely not be as simple as the demons they face. This was supposedly a human being, so he was capable of the same level of intellect and strategy as they were, maybe with more power than they had.
Running over to the gambler's position outside the mask room, Lui motioned for Shotaro to run back to the group as he skidded to a halt in front of the mask, ripping it off the dummy and holding it with the fingers that stuck out of the skull mask's eye holes. The sooner they could remove these masks from their possession, the better.
"Alright, everyone! This is the final stretch! Let's book it to the mask room and give Invidia the judgement he's deserving of. Be sure to replenish your health and energy."

At this point, there is no need to follow behind, let's head to the front of the room and place these items there so we can get on with it. It's been a long road, but we finally made it to the climax of this little fiasco. Don't get cold feet now, I'd rather deal with invidia now than run into that fiend later." They finally made it to the end, with Gabe being somewhat excited and weary at the same time. He felt as if there was a lot of things that still remained unanswered in the sense of how they were going to get by and defeat invidia if he proved to be a hassle. At this point, it was up to Gabe to pull his weight and do his job perfectly if he wanted any sort of success. The after effects were the thoughts of people who managed to win and be successful with their assignments of taking down invidia. If they could manage that, then they could start to think about what to down with him after. "You know, even if we let him live, if he has powers like us, it's not like beating him around without persona's will stop him from using his own. I don't want this to be a game of cat and mouse where we go into dungeons and risk our lives for a glorified spanking. " It's just what he thought, but maybe he should keep his thoughts to himself It wasn't like anyone cared to begin with, maybe they were just happy at the fact that they got to use their persona in such a way.
"Let's talk strategy, the first thing I'm planning to do is weaken him so we could take his hits a lot better. I think Frog has a similar move to that, doing it together can cover all angles as we find out what he's weak to. I hate to say this, but so far, that might be the best corresponding strategy that we have at the moment. The reason why I didn't want to consider such a thing is that it might put the outcome of our situation in the hands of a few people when i actually believe that everyone has a part to play in this. But I digress, the reoccurring theme of the dungeon's weaknesses might mirror what invidia is weak to, but we don't have to play the guessing game if the scan works. "
Movement- shadow accel down 3, left 9, up 2 to return the masks

Lui stumbled in his step to get out of Shotaro's way and ran in formation behind him. While his soul was lugging around five loads of weakening burdens, this was the opportunity to push forward and shrug these masks off to reach their full power again. But Shotaro did bring up a good point considering the structure of this dungeon. Did the dungeon actually reflect something about Invidia they could use against him? it was a bit of a strange setup with these weakness masks. Perhaps Invidia focuses on using debuffing abilities much like the masks he left around the area. Thankfully, Lui would have a leg up on attack power when the battle starts, and the masked girl serving as assist would help dispel afflictions and raise those who lost the stamina to fight on. All they needed was to strategize, find a system to put down Invidia, and use their victory to find their next lead and keep Invidia from continuing his bizarre hobby.
"Well, I doubt Invidia is going to invite us in peacefully. Assuming he's gotten the same power we do. the least we need to do is stop him from being able to attack back. Besides, this is our debut job. Beating Invidia down is a welcome respite, but no matter what, this is putting us on the map. A little shock factor to surprise the city and the ones running it. Anyways, if this dungeon says anything about Invidia, he may have a connection to status debuffing attacks. My guess is that he uses those types of skills considering how he's been using it to make our trek to his lair all the more frustrating. That or something to do with the fiddling demon back there, but I'm guessing we'll be free of that creep soon enough. I have a starting buff to my attack as well as a scanning ability, minor healing, and two varying attacks types. My skill can protect an ally for a turn or two in case he tries getting up close and personal. I wish I could at least learn who you guys are in the outside world, but so long as anonymity is a priority in case one of us slips up, I'll respect your wishes to remain masked throughout. But let's save the opportunity for after we finish the job.

Looming before you is a series of statues and stands all fitted with the same masks you've taken before. They stood in the way and there was no way to enter. But the masks you held began to glow and dissipate. Along with them, the obstruction in your way was also gone. Your way is clear.

The horde looked straight out of a carnival. The feathery harpies, the iron clad angels, suspended in a motionless dance and an echoing cackle. Setanta raised his spear towards the sky, crashing thunder upon the demons, bringing them down with ease, and Frog, already practiced well, resummoned it back into the Magician card and locked behind Gabe's face. The Magician turned into The Temperance and Liam, a vision of Vishnu, and Frog grinned. The Tuxedo Guy had grabbed the last mask and they were finally at the end. The looming threat of the Fiend vanished as well in response to their victorious ascent. Or descent, however one looked at it. Stepping forward, Frog felt the anticipation of the moment that was about to arrive, and Brit's words repeated in his head. Whether they were doing right or wrong and how were they to proceed regarding Invidia... He hoped time would provide all the answers he sought, for he himself did not know what to make of it. Even yet, he would not falter. He couldn't. Yes, he couldn't show any weakness in front of these people. Not only did he not know who they were, but they were annoying on their own. And Invidia was going to get what he deserves as well. For all the eaten girls (quite irrelevant but whatever, let's call it a faux motivation to make himself feel better about himself) and other stuff. But mostly to beat the Queen and bring freedom to Endymion.
He would let himself fall. Form fading, same as the world around, replaced by a blurring image, acceleration grabbing catch of his hair and faux ponytail, dragging it behind him as he let himself into a run. Palm against the corner of the corridor and a swift turn. Soles of his shoes, black dots on the ends of the rainbows, like pots of gold, hitting upon walls to change directions, jumping like a frog. Popping a snuff soul, its contents spilled in a cloud of sparkles around him and behind him, and soon, he found himself at the area with Tuxedo Guy and Golden Boy. It was high time.
"So, guys, shall we proceed?" Frog gleered at them through the mask and smirked, cocking his head. Cracking his knuckles, stretching shoulders, shaking some booty. "All right. I'll open by using Vishnu to scan the guy. Afterwards, we'll need to actually work as a team. Heh. Hehehe. Kekekek~ If we can, that is."
Frog said as he proceeded to move towards Invidia's now unlocked room.

A giant, golden circular wheel floats and turns eerily behind his back at all times. Unison looked at everyone, they had been taking a lot of damage, and a few time they required her aid, but now, she felt like she needed to do a bit more, and so she stepped forward and gently touched the one in the golden armor on the shoulder "please move aside, I think I will be aiding them myself from here on..." she then walked after Selenus and the from one, the run around the dungeon had been interesting and a few times very dangerous, but the manner in which some of the others took their time was also odd, she could tell that the stress had been getting to some of them, Gabe for instance, and even now Frog before he dashed off had been showing clear signs of being stressed, Herself, she hadn't been to stressed, if only because she had already made her mind up to do this, knowing full well that it wouldn't be an easy road.
It was safe to Say Trinity was used to difficult roads, born into one essentially, and honestly she never expected it to get easier, she never expected it to get this hard though, maybe she was one of the few here that could handle the stress this was putting on them all, and remain the same? she didn't know but she wouldn't be surprised, some like Gardian B, used denial, some used aggression and arrogance like the Prince, some used bargaining, like Shotaro, others slipped into depression who those may be was hard to say, maybe a little from everyone else, but Trinity and her siblings? she had already passed through those, she had accepted what was happening, she was beyond those stages, long before this whole mess started she had passed through them.
taking her shot gun out she walked forward, after Selenus and the prince, this person was ruining something she held dear, to control people with something that should set them free, getting rid of him would remove at least part of the problem, but one thing still bothered her, and as she walked forward she pondered it, they never found out who it was that had been killing idols, if it was someone like this man, then it should have been harder to find bodies, as she had no doubt that he had the means to hide them and make sure they were not found, so it could only be someone that was lower down maybe? maybe not even connected to him at all....she had a hunch though, as she remembered that sickening music and she continued to stride forward.
"What we do and how we fight, and any hints this place gives....they are all good things to know....however asking now about our skills....this is the worst time to do it...we should have all spoken to each other at another time, I suggest that once we get through this...we spend the time talking and finding out more about each other, at least with the masks on for the time being...." she said to the golden armored one as she pressed onwards
