| She had some good grub and met some people. The last remaining dregs of the night was not bad, it was enjoyable. Yet, tiring. She was just walking through the streets with coffin in tow as usual. | |

| If this were a normal night, Noah would have likely headed home a good while ago. However, after what happened, this was in no way your casual nighttime. One would argue that it would be better to go and catch some Z's before that supposed morning meet up at Class 0, but he was hardly bothered for the moment. Psh, he wasn't seriously tired yet, so there was no reason to to pay a visit to a bed until later.
Therefore, he could currently be seen wandering around the quieter parts of the city, watching the dark sky above while humming a tune to himself as he strode forth. There was definitely some difference between what he was now and what he used to be not so long ago, but the full extent of the changes would remain to be seen over the course of time. Regardless of the minute details, he would continue his trek until his blue eyes caught sight of a familiar person some feet ahead of him. Well, look who it is. Noah wouldn't have thought he'd see her out still. With a somewhat intrigued glance, he would soon make the decision to job up to her from behind.''Hey, you still out here?''

| Maria was pretty listless, likely a result of how tired she was. Each step was made without much thought, except that they were made to get closer as she could to the Church. She yawned tiredly. It had been a rather long day. A short sparring session, a meeting with the Princess, gaining Andraste, and many other events have totally drained her. Yet, this day offered her a familiar encounter. It was strange, meeting so soon after their previous battle together. But since business was over, Maria was back to her normal state. Something which might take the Shadow by surprise. "No. My home's around here. I'm surprised to see you so soon, Noah. Do you live around here?" | |

| That so? Well, guess it made sense if she lived around here. That's always one way to explain why someone is in a certain area at an odd time of day. Or night in their specific case. So she lived in Sunlake Palms, huh? Perhaps he ought to remember that since they were likely to work as a team from now on. Unless the cadets in charge decide to separate them tomorrow, as strange of a choice that would be.
''Heh, I see.'', he would offer her a faint smile. ''Nah though. I just decided to take a stroll in the fresh air before heading back home. I live in Suzie Q.'' As much as he appreciated that place, it could get pretty noisy at times, so making the time to spend a while in the less populous areas was always welcome.

| So he was doing what she was doing just a while ago, enjoying what time they had left before their work as Cadets began. Fair enough, it was normal to do so before the obligations began to pile up. Maria nodded at his statements, noting that Suzie Q was a bit ways away from here. The girl imagined that place to be pretty busy these days, given what kind of establishments they primarily focus on. "I see. Enjoying the quiet here?" she asked curiously while starting to make movements to walk. Maria should be slow enough for Noah to catch up as they were to continue their conversation while walking. "You know, I saw her stab through you in your head... are you alright? You sure you should be walking around? We did just survive by the skin of our teeth a while ago."There was a look of concern on her face. After all, it is no laughing matter if someone literally got stabbed through their skull. But he seemed awfully healthy despite that ordeal. | |

| ''Somewhat. At least I can hear myself think out here. Some other places are rather against that.'' Despite the mini-complaint, Noah didn't really sound upset by the fact. Besides, why would he even live in a place like Suzie Q which is perpetually noisy if he had a huge issue with it, right? An occassional walk outside the flashy bubble was a nice pasttime though, no denying that. ''I don't really mind the usual noise for the most part though.'', he would shrug nonchalantly. It was whatever. He didn't get seriously bothered that easily.
He would move to catch up with her, giving her a 'who knows' kind of expression when she asked her question about what happened. He sort of remembered that, even though he hadn't been paying too much attention back then. Honestly, he didn't really know what was up with that. ''I feel fine right now. No idea what exactly was it that she did with that. Beats me. Either way, I don't seem to be physically hurt or anything. Guess it's some sort of secret method they use or whatever. Wouldn't surprise me....'' From what was known so far, the government did appear to be a little secretive with a good deal of information. They could be keeping a lot under wraps as is.

| There was something about Noah that reminded Maria about those robot she met earlier in the day. He seemed rather relaxed like they were, taking many things in stride. It was something she did envy to some degree. Were the people in Suzie Q that relaxed as he was? She wasn't quite sure, outside of training in the Church and the Camping Grounds and doing errands for the Church, Maria never did much to go around the city and enjoy what it had. Whatever the case, she nodded as the man outlined his life in that district. "It's probably best to get some rest and maybe see a doctor when you can," she advised him, "We do have a meeting in the morning after all..."She wondered what the next day had in store for her. Perhaps a lesson in protocol or whatever the Cadets had to follow. It goes without saying that they owed their loyalties to the Queen, but for Maria, that actually goes double. "What did you think of Lisa?" | |

| He would wave his hand at her suggestion. Yeah, he appreciated the thought...but what was the likelyhood that a doctor could help with some supernaturally induced stabbing through one's head? On top of that, he didn't even have any symptomps, nor was feeling bad right now. That's like asking someone to check on an invisible health issue and expect them to find some miracle cure. Besides, the Shadow wouldn't be extremely keen on getting prodded by some medical tools unless he had to for real. ''I have no injuries to show. I think a doctor would just give me weird eyes if I claimed I have been stabbed through the head and was still looking just fine...'' How to make yourself a weirdo 101 in a nutshell. So nah, he likely wasn't going to go out of his way for that. ''I'll try to get some sleep before morning though. I bet they don't plan being easy on us...'' The nameless woman sure didn't, even though she wasn't about to be present at that meeting specifcally...Hmm...
''The young woman that was there with us, right...?'', he would ask for a confirmation when she spoke of Lisa, even though he didn't actually need it. ''She doesn't seem like a bad one. Although she appears to be really keen on praise from the higher ups since she wasn't liking how the Queen addressed someone without talking to her as well...'' A bit of jealousy perhaps? It was too early to tell for sure. But it was obvious Lisa planned to do her best as a Cadet, if nothing else. ''But yeah, she looks like a hard-worker, despite that little quirk...'' So she likely wouldn't be a bad possible teammate...
''What do you say..?''

| As expected, he was rather calm about this whole thing. But if he was alright and didn't care too much about it, then there was nothing what she could do. Maria smiled darkly and replied with a sigh, "After taking on a demon like that and calling it 'satisfactory'? I think we got the general idea there's a lot expected of us."She nodded at his first question, verifying that it was her. But what he had said seemed to be in line with what she thought about her. It made Maria wonder how she would work together with her and train with her. It may complicate things, but at the same time she hoped it wouldn't affect their work. "My observations exactly. Though I suppose because of her siblings, it sounds like she wants to prove herself to them. I certainly hope she doesn't try too hard. I would hate to see herself get hurt in the process because of it." Maria remembered how she used that band to punish herself at times. It seemed kind of sad and was something she would have to keep in mind. She honestly wondered how she could help her on that. "I have to say though. You looked pretty cute when you were in that dragon form." | |

| ''Yeah, yeah. I get that. Makes sense since it isn't a job for slackers. We survived though, so I think that's a good enough start for now. We can still show 'em we can do great later.'' Noah understood it wouldn't be an easy endeavor to keep up with, but hey, what does griping about it change? As long as they did all they could and worked on improving, they'd get where they need to eventually. Words don't make you stronger, as great as it would be if that kind of training legit worked. He didn't plan on getting very demotivated by half-assed reviews of their performance. Everyone starts somewhere, so what? He'd find his way around one day, whether they called the initial tries satisfactory or anything else.
''Heh...it might be that. Yet, as you said earlier, we have to try pretty hard to succeed at this. So, as long as she doesn't go beyond her limits, her determination will likely do her well. We'll all probably get hurt on the way. No pain, no gain.'' As fun as it was to roast up some demons, they dished out damage in return too. So, it would always hurt a bit, regardless of how much expertise they amass. Unless they'd be able to kill in one hit, but that was a feat for later...Even though he would love to get ahead of himself...
Oh...? He would give her a grin and flash a peace sign. ''If that's what you say, sure. I still bite though.'' As a matter of fact, maybe he should look in a mirror once. Just to see if she was serious or just joking. Not that he would mind either way. ''Say, do you think they'll look for more new cadets aside from us?'' They never said how many they planned to actually hire, so he was curious...

| "That's what I'm worried about," she admitted, "But I believe that would just have to be something we'll need to keep an eye out for. But you're right. No pain, no gain. Nothing can be received without moving forward."It was a saying that she found herself listening to when Sister Louise enforced her harsh training in these previous five years. A part of herself was sick of it, but then again, it has been quite a while since she took part of the former Cadet's tutelage. Now she was here, inducted as a Cadet. Were those five years worth it? Maria would say it was, but this was the first step. "You were, and I don't doubt it. You should probably have people ride on you. I bet it would be a lot of fun." She grinned at the male while making innocent imaginations in her mind, of cute children enjoying the night sky while riding a cute dragon. Man, that is adorable. She would have sworn this might be material for some cartoon kid movie somewhere down the road. Maria replied with a shrug, "Maybe? I don't think at this point we know enough, we just joined. But I'm sure we'll find out in the morning. We'll see."After such a reply, eventually they reached Maria's destination. "Huh. I reached home earlier than I thought. I think I'll call it a night now. But is there anything else you want to talk about, Noah?" | |

| ''That's a thought.'' Assuming they'd have enough time to keep out enough of an eye on that as well, on top of everything else they'd need to possible deal with in the future. ''On the other hand, I'd say experience is a good teacher. If one makes a mistake, they'll likely learn to avoid it the next time....'', he would trail off before giving a vague shrug. ''That is, if they do not die right away due to it. In which case maybe they're actually stupid and aren't up to the job of a Cadet, based on the standards expected of us already.'' Harsh reality? Maybe, but Noah had the feeling that's what they'd be up against from now on, no matter how easygoing he was trying to be about the matter in general.
He'd smirk as he gave the idea a thought. He did have enough strength to carry people if he wished to, that was a truth. Would it be an enjoyable activity? That he had no clue just yet. Heh, maybe he should pick someone up one day and see how they react...''I sure could. Wanna be the first to try?'', he'd suggest jokingly. He wouldn't really mind actually doing it the next time they were in a position where he could fly around, but the choice would be hers anyway. It did sound like a tempting battle strategy to try. Dropping onto an opponent from the sky before they know what hit them.
''You got a point. I'm just curious. Would have though there'd be at least a few more of us there. They did give quite the advertisement at the academy in the morning....'' He remembered that girl with pink hair that was trying to kiss up to the two Cadets, for example. She sounded sure about wanting to come and try for it. Ah well. Maybe he could ask about it in the morning. There's still a lot shrouded in mystery right now...
He would snap back to reality when Maria spoke up again. Already there? Whoa, that was pretty fast. He would give her a thumbs up. ''I'm never against more talk. But if you're tired, go ahead and sleep. We can always chat more after the morning meet up.'' They would have more to talk about too, assuming they'd get some new info from it.

| Maria sighed and nodded in agreement, "We'll just have to see how it all goes and hope we only make small inconsequential mistakes only. So that we won't have to make big ones."This was going to be a troublesome job. But they had an idea what they were signing up for now. It was going to be dangerous, that was a no-brainer. It looked like everyone in Maria's small party were going to stick to it. All everyone could hope is that nothing out of their hands would ever happen. "Sure. Maybe next time though. We should be resting. I'll remind you," she giggled with the same tone. This Noah seemed to be a pretty swell person. While calm, he was certainly an asset that he could likely trust as evidenced in the battle in this night. "I thought the same. But I guess some people value their lives. I can't blame them. I can't see this being glamorous work at all."Odd that it was only the three of them back then. Maybe there was another batch at some point. Who knows? While her colleague had been a great person to talk to, Maria unfortunately had something that warranted her attention. "Mariaaaa~ Heeeeelp! The laundry! The detergent! It's overflowiiiiing!!! I'm gonna drown! I neeeed youuuu!!!" The wails were familiar to her. Maria slowly palmed her face for a moment, wishing that she wasn't here. Couldn't there be a single day when that nun would stop screwing up on basic chores? Not all of the religions in this world could ever enlighten her. The Cadet knew this, Sister Louise was irredeemable in that regard. "I... I'm going to have to go get that. I'll... see you tomorrow. Bye." She finally left, but with each footstep, Maria braced herself for the situation she had to face head on. This was going to be a long night. [Exit] | |

| ''As you command, milady.'' He sounded mostly amused over this conversation. For what exact reason was unknown, but it would seem that the Shadow just wasn't the type to be outwardly serious for way too long at a time. On top of that, they knew little about their situation as of now, so hopes were spoken into the air to begin with. Let's leave that for tomorrow, 'kay?
Riiight. ''There's still plenty time left to rest. No need to worry about that.'', he would smirk thinly. He remembered her talking about it not so long ago as well, so reminders weren't really needed. He'd get to it eventually. If anything, he doubted they were going to be made to fight once again in the morning, so it wasn't that huge of an issue in the first place. As long as you weren't sleeping on your feet...''Perhaps so. It's definitely not an easy job to sign up for...'' Despite that, there seemed to be several that showed an interest...hmmm..
''Huh?'', he would turn his head towards the sudden complaints coming from nearby. Laundry? Ookay. He would shake his head with a short laugh. ''Have fun with that, I guess. See you tomorrow. Don't drown though.'' That would be a sad fate after surviving that demon indeed. He would whistle to himself as he watched Maria take her leave, eventually taking off himself, continuing his walk...
