Who want's burgers eh? (Mae and Traeh)

At last... this was it... the final battle of good vs evil... This would truly determine the fate of all mankind. Jack stood on the precipice of his destiny. His every action up untill this point had lead him here. His many battles, his many victories, his many losses. Learning and growing from each has turned Jack into the man he is today, the man that stood before his eternal rival, the one who pushed him to become stronger. The one that, now that the Father was gone, threatened the worlds safety like no other... This is where it will all end. ''Alright Statue.... Lets finish this once and for all...''


Jack took a deep breath as he stood before the statue in the middle of the park. He had tried everything else he could think of... Checkers, Monopoly, Yu-Gi-Oh, that game where you hold your figures out have to hit the other guys fingers to make them holdout more fingers and the first one who gets to five fingers on both hands loses... ya know that game? Anyway... none of it had worked... So now Jack was left with but one option... One on one combat! Jack had waited for the park to be empty... now in his ranger suit... Jack was ready for his final fight.


''BOKEN! CHOP!'' Jack shouted as he brought a strong chop into the Statues neck... and broke his hand again... ''Huh...'' Jack said as he inspected his fractured hand ''Is it bad that I'm getting used to this?'' Using his good hand Jack sent two texts, one to Traeh to come watch his final victory over the Statue, and one to Mae to cancel their Friday night bowling trip... Cus ya know... he broke his bowling hand at the park... again. 

Mae sat there silent, looking at the text message she had just recieved from Jack... He had cancelled their plans... because he broke his hand. The girl groaned, frowning. "I swear, Jack's a bigger danger to himself than the shadows..." She could hear Qilin chuckling in the back of her mind. "I told him last time that he should be more careful! Geez, he NEVER listens to me!" Well, he was at the park... Now he had an earful coming his way. Did she have to supervise him 24/7 just to make sure he didn't break anything?

When Mae arrived at the park, she saw Jack sitting near the statue. She picked up the pace, walking briskly over to him with a big frown on her face, with both her hands on her hips. "JACK! What's the meaning of this? You broke your hand AGAIN!?" her right eyebrow twitched somewhat, as she stared at him. "Don't you listen to ANYTHING I say?! You NEED to be more CAREFUL!" She had brought a first aid kit with her too... To put some bandages on his hand... If only he would let her that is. Although, she would be rather adamant on fixing that.

"Heh... Been a while since I've been to the park." Traeh thought to herself as she read the text she received from Jack. "Then again it's been far too long since I saw Jack properly either." She really didn't want to go back there, its where all the crazy stuff started to occur to her. But she felt like she'd have to deal with that at some point... She may had decided to keep out of all this as much as she could, but she couldn't just hide away at home forever.

Walking in through the gate of the park, Traeh knew exactly where to look to find Jack. As she expected, he was standing right beside the evil and life threatening statue... Or just Jack's ridiculous rival for short... Even though that title wasn't really short either. Regardless, was that Mae with him? Why is she shouting as if Jack just committed murder or something? Traeh debated to herself for a bit whether it was a good idea or not to butt in yet, but she felt like she could of been standing around for quite a while...

Ya know... By this point Jack was SURE he would be able to atomize this dumb statue with a single chop. By the end of the series, assuming they survived, Red Rangers were supposed to be super human with like... Really strong powers! Though Jack is fairly sure one has never been shown to be able to render a concrete and rebar statue to dust with only one blow, he was certain that they could do it. It's not like it's that hard really. It's just basically rocks and metal sticks, how strong could it really be? Further more this statue has been here for decades! It's got to be a little warn down from the weathering and general wear and tear that a public statue will experience in it's life ti-... Oh... hey it's Mae! Wonder what she's here fo-

""Ow! Mae! Don't yell so loud..." Jack tried in vain to plug his ears, momentarily forgetting that only one of his hands was fully functional at the moment,"And I'm fine! It doesn't even hurt that much..." Jack would grumble like a small child being chastised for spilling his koolaid on the rug again. Though, reluctantly, he would let Mae take a look at his hand."You and I both know I've had worse... hell... I damn near died during that fight with Nesoi..." Jack's voice grew dim as the cursed name floated past his lips. Jack would sit quietly for a moment, wondering if Mae knew about what had transpired, about who they had lost during the fight.

"Mae... D- OH! Traeh!" Jack's entire mannerism would change as he spotted his friend. He would wave his hand like an excited twelve year old as she approached,"Hey! Long time no see!

"Yes, Jack. But that's no excuse to go out of your way to hurt yourself." Mae said, flicking his forehead with her left index finger. "Now sit still while I treat this, okay?" She gave him a deadpan stare before working on fixing up his arm. She stopped for a moment when he mentioned that last part about Nesoi... "W-Wait just a second... YOU ALMOST DIED?!" The girl stared at him slackjawed. Unbelievable... The amount of danger he put himself in constantly was downright ridiculous... And if he wanted to be a police officer, he couldn't go around taking stupid risks... "Geez... There's no way you're going to change anytime soon, is there...?" She sighed deeply, wrapping up the last bit of bandage around his hand. "There! All done. No need to thank me. Now be careful alright? We need to go to the hospital with this... I'm no doctor, so I think it's best if we let someone who knows this stuff take care of you, alright? I heard the nurses over at the Hospital here are quite cute." If he was into nurses that is...

"Oh Hey, Traeh!" Mae looked up when she heard that familiar voice, smiling brightly, before turning to Jack again with a frown. "This young man just broke his own hand for no good reason... At all... Can you believe this? I swear, he's hopeless without his friends constantly keeping an eye on him, dear lord... Could you... help me teach him some manners?" She tilted her head, returning her gaze to Traeh once more.

It didn't massively surprise her to see the fact Jack had managed to hurt himself doing... Whatever it was he was doing before she had shown up. Although this time did look like it was much more serious then the past considering how much fuss Mae was making over it. Either way it didn't seem to be causing him that much grief considering how suddenly excited he was to see her. "Yeah, It's been quite a while hasn't it. Heh, sorry about that!"

"Hey Mae! I hav-" Traeh suddenly cut off from her sentence as she heard what Jack had actually done to himself. "Wait what? Jack actually broke his hand trying to do... Wait what in the world of sense were you trying to do that ended with you breaking your hand? Like... Surely that statue didn't beat you that badly at another arm wrestle right?" She gave a slight smile as if she were trying to make light of the situation, but seriously how and why would he do that to himself? "Shesh, I don't think he would survive a week on his own, Mae. Not without breaking at least half his bones or at least fracturing them that is." Proceeding to then look at Jack's now bandaged hand Traeh wondered to herself how seriously damaged it actually was. "Do you think he should go get it checked out, like at a hospital or something?"

"Geez! I've never felt so loved heh." Jack chuckled to himself as Mae continued to scream at him. He was happy to know he had people to cared about him so much, that if HE had been the one to go there would have been those who mourned his loss. This thought was... oddly sobering to the young hero."Y-Yeah... I damn near kicked the bucket and joined the orchestra. Joined the Orchestra... is that a phrase? I feel like that's a phrase, or am I thinking of something else? Cus I FEEL like that's a common 'I died' phrase. Cus phrases are like... Phrase, Phrase. Aw Damn it I said phrase to much and now it doesn't even feel like a word. Heh," Jack chuckled to himself as he took his hand back from Mae. "And before you go off on me throwing my life away, it was against The Father... Ya know the big boss of the Primordials. The one that even Thesis and Anny were scared of. I'm surprised I was even able to hurt the damn thing..."

Jack turned his gaze to Traeh, let loose his goofiest smile and gave her his trademark thumbs up "Yeah yeah, I know! It's just a statue, but I almost had it this time! I know it! I just need to try something else and I'll vaporize this vile pile of rocks! And I can to survive on my own! Like last week I only got shot twice!" Jack smirked as motioned to the statue with his broken hand.

Though his chop must have done something to it, for a mere moment after Jack's proclamation of premature victory the statue's head cracked slightly and held for a second before falling off and rebounding off Jack's broken fist, clattering to the ground with a loud thud. "MOTHER OF! MMMHMHMHM! See! I told you I would win! MMMMM Y-Yeah maybe a Hospital is a good idea!" Jack staggered to his feet doing his damndest to not let out a single tear.

"We care about you!" Mae puffed up her cheeks in slight annoyance. "Oh well... Some habits die hard I suppose." A deep sigh followed, as she listened to Jack's tale about Nesoi. "Well... I suppose it was a risk worth taking then... At least you made it out alive, and that's what counts in the end."

Mae stared at him. "Wait... you got shot TWICE!? When did this happen?! You shoudn't be running around like this!" There really was no curing the guy, was there? "You tell me. It's a wonder he's even lasted this long..." Her eyebrow twitched lightly, as she supressed the urge of shouting at him again. He was waaay to careless for his own good... "Jack... There's something you're not telling me... Why EXACTLY would you get shot?" She stared at him, demanding a truthful answer. Thesis and Ananke surely didn't use guns... At least, with powers like theirs, there really was no need for them to use human weaponry to begin with.

"OH MY G-! A-Are you okay Jack?!" Of course he wasn't... "Hospital. Yeah. On it!" Mae stood up and helped Jack back on his feet, giving Traeh a look that said "mind helping me with this?" before she rolled her eyes. Was all of these injuries he had aquired just from sheer bad luck combined with his recklessnes? Maybe... Right now, they should focus on getting him to the Hospital ASAP. "I'll call the ambulance." She hurriedly brought out her phone, and called the hospital...

"Alright... They'll be here in about 5 minutes... You can hold out for that long, right? Don't pass out on us now..." She looked at Jack with a worried expression... Poor guy could never catch a break. Hopefully this trip to the hospital would teach him a thing or two about being careful...

Over hearing some of the thing they were talking about before hand, Traeh was interested to try and find out a little more about what they were actually talking about. "So, who is this 'The Father' you two were talking about? Sounds like a great guy from what you were saying about him, heh." She had been completely in the dark about what had been going on recently, she was ashamed to admit it but everything that was happening around here terrified her so she had spent the past few months trying to avoid it the best she could...

Traeh joined Mae at just staring at Jack after what he had just said. She would of questioned it too, but Mae was faster to jump to questions than she was, although she would add this onto the end of what Mae was saying. "Jesus Jack, who in the world even shot you anyway? Surely they had a reason to do so, no? I hope you don't secretly enjoy finding ways to put yourself in pain or something..." That would probably explain... Quite a bit, but she hoped it was more just because of his dumb luck and his act of getting into stupid situations over the fact it was something he voluntarily tried to do to himself...

"Holy shi-! Goodd.... That had to of hurt..." Well they were right about one thing, he never did catch a break. She brought Jack's arm around her shoulder after Mae looked like she needed some help to bring him over to where the ambulance would be once it arrived. She wasn't quite sure why though, he hadn't hurt his leg or foot or anything, well it was in case he fell over in pain or passed out from it she supposed... Makes sense. "Bloody hell Jack, I think you have something posted on your back saying 'please hurt me'." She'd shake her head and look back at the statue over her shoulder, with a slight upset look on her face to see the statue now destroyed. "Heh, well at least you finally beat him, eh? You finally won." At the cost of some fractured and broken fingers...

"Ow! What did I say about yelling..." Jack would mildly protest as Mae and Traeh hoisted him up, but wouldn't put up to much of a fight. He knew for a fact that they probably thought him an utter idiot for getting himself beat up so much, heck he thought it himself sometimes, but that didn't seem to stop them from worrying about him. Jack thought back on how he met these two for a moment, both seemed to be chance encounters that just so happened to blossom into deep friendships. A slight chuckle escaped jack's lips as he realized that summed up how he met about half his friends.

"You two are to good to me heh." Jack shook his head as he let the two girls lead him away. "And before you get to bent out of shape about it, I was heading home from my nightly patrol when some guy on the train I was on suddenly decided it was a good idea to try and hijack it. Good thing those passengers had as Superhero around eh?" Wait... Was that last week? Might have been two weeks ago... Or even longer! Man time is starting to blur together, guess all this talk about the end of humanity and the rise of the primordials sure warps your view of time.

Jack glimpsed back at the statue who's head lay on the ground... "Yeah Traeh... I guess I did! I won!" Jack walked silently for a second as those words sunk in. "We won... OH right! The primordials! Uh... what do you want to know?"

"You know how worried you make us? Geez..." Mae sighed deeply, shaking her head at Jack. "I seriously don't know what to do with you..." Well, hopefully he would be a bit better about things as he grew up... He still had a lot of school left to do, and so did Mae... Their studies had come to a complete halt for the better half of the year, and... well... It kinda sucked to have an extra year of school to trudge through... Or at least a couple of months at best.

"Yeah. We're spoiling you at this point. Heh. But in all seriousness, I took the job of keeping the rangers fit for whatever... I'm gonna keep that up, even if the threat is now gone." Mae shrugged. "Hold the phone! You PREVENTED a HI-JACKING?!" Mae stared at him in complete and utter disbelief at first. She honestly couldn't believe it... Was he living in a fantasy world...? Then again, it was JACK they were talking about here. He was already a bit loopy. A good kind of loopy, to an extent at least...

"Well... Yeah. What do you wanna know?" Mae crossed her arms, waiting for Traeh's response. She could help Jack out with this, if needed... Sirens could be heard in the distance. The ambulance was on it's way...

"We're just giving you a helping hand Jack, I'd of hoped you would do the same for us if it was either of us in your current position." Traeh gave a weak smile which turned into a confused one. "Woah... Wait, like a real hi-jacking?" She was sure he was just making stuff up now to worry them or play with them, surly he wouldn't of tried to do something that stupid if it was serious? "Do you actually have a death wish or something Jack?"

Shaking he head she looked up at the two who were now wondering what it was she wanted to know... Well, she wasn't sure to be honest, it's not like she knew really anything that had been going on recently so asking for a specific detail of something was kinda... Impossible. She would shrug passively. "Uhm... I'm not sure really... I'm just so out of the loop with all this, I'm not sure what's been going on recently. Just, anything important? I guess." She'd sigh and look down at the ground... She had been really useless when it came to all this. "Heh... I'm sorry I wasn't out there helping you guys... I should of done more than I have done."

"Yep! Guy didn't go down easy neather... Nearly had to bust his skull open to get him to stay down. Heh, if ya take the red line to Penecia you can still see the big head shaped dent I put in on of the poles. But enough about how awesome I an and how I saved everyone from a crazed gunmen." Jack chuckled to himself as the three of them reached the curb and waited for the ambulance to come. Funny... In all of his self damaging escapades Jack never once had an ambulance called for him. This was actually the first time he was gunna go to the hospital for one of his injuries, how exciting!

"Huh... Yeah ya must not have been on the front lines much if ya don't know about the primodials... To be honest I still don't one hundred percent understand what happened. But from what I gathered, they were basically demons that wanted to corrupt the wish that the Mother was going to give to us in order to bring their big daddy god back from the dead and take over our world. I never met ether Thesis or Anake personaly, but I did meet their father. Punched him in the face to! But all that really did was hurt AkibaRed's hand heh... If it wasn't for Hyde we.... We wouldn't have made it home" Jack smile4d weakly at the memory.

"Jack..." Mae sighed. What was there really to say? "...Are you bragging?" It was a bit unexpected of him, to be honest. Mae had always seen Jack as a sort of humble guy, not really as the bragging kind of person. Sure, the deed was quite selfless, but... bragging about it afterwards kind of ruined it somewhat. It was almost like he did it just for bragging rights and not for the right reasons, like actually saving people's lives.

"I wouldn't worry too much about it, Traeh... You stayed out if it, and I'm going to be honest... things are perhaps better off like thi-" Then Mae's face grew pale when Jack mentioned her friend. "Huh...? W-What about H-Hyde?" The way he had said it made her worry, and it showed. Her voice was shaking lightly. "...W-What happened, Jack?"

Traeh shook her head. "You're insane Jack. You really are." That sort of act wasn't really something she'd of expected to hear from Jack. Sure she knew he did some crazy things and wanted to protect people, but this was something entirely different to all that. Weird crazy shadow monsters are one thing but an actual person with a gun is a whole other matter. "He's most likely over exaggerating..." She'd whisper in Mae's direction.

Wow... That was a lot of information to take all in at once. Plus she didn't really understand everything he was saying still even whilst he tried to explain it... But at least she gathered one thing from it all and that was she was definitely glad she had stayed out of it.

Traeh wasn't sure who this Hyde person was when his name was mentioned... Yet Mae's reaction to what sounded like a foreshadowed bad news about him told her it must've been someone they really cared about. "W-who's this Hyde person?"
