Sentinel's Broken Prison (Prime Awakening) Sentin10

Map Key:

When Project Sentinel showed up along with whoever he brought, he would be greeted by long sets of stone hallways, that spread further and further towards the horizon of his eyes, leading into nothing but darkness. These hallways looked old, as though it had been here for a long time, yet still seemed to be somewhat maintained, as it definitely looked to be in good condition. If he were to take a closer look, he would see cracks along the walls, including tags of paper spread around and stuck to the wall, the word 'Failure' in many different languages plastered on them all with no rhyme or reason. While the setting he was in was fairly easy to figure out after a brief thought, it would only be confirmed as shrieks of both men and women could be heard along the hallways, and cries of anguish. Though oddly, if Sentinel chose to follow those screams, he would see along the halls were cells and barred doors and cages. It was quite evidently, a prison that took shape in the far reaches of his mind.

Sentinel's Broken Prison (Prime Awakening) Latest?cb=20121001024751

As soon as he would realize this, a voice pierced the far reaches of the shadowy depths of this prison; a voice that was both sad, and resentful. "I was only doing what was right. Her parents didn't understand what the truth was; that they were savages and hungry for research. I am just a faceless tool. I can only perform one role, and even that I am broken at. I always leave Maria alone, so who knows what she is getting into when I am not around? Was it a mistake to save her from her father? No...he was projecting. He wanted to save what he couldn't the first time. I am a failure in carrying out my role, but at least that monster is dead and far away from her..."

That voice was unmistakable: it was Alphonse's own voice. Why would he speak in that manner? This world seemed to be formed from a dark part of his robotic mind, so maybe it was his corrupted state speaking....or maybe there was some truth to it. After all, his mission was to protect Maria, and he had slain her father to keep her alive. Was it yet another dream that haunted him, finally come to life in this dark scene? Perhaps the actions he took were to save her, but does that make it a valid argument to kill your maker? Alphonse was simply a machine designed as a bodyguard. That's all he was....right?

As Sentinel continued into this dungeon, he would hear familiar screams of his father, pained screams of a woman he could not recognize, though he would feel like he could match it to someone, and disappointed sobs of a young girl, always getting louder until a breaking point where it would grow silent, as if death had cut the voice short.

Sentinel's Broken Prison (Prime Awakening) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Sentinel's Broken Prison (Prime Awakening)   Sentinel's Broken Prison (Prime Awakening) EmptyWed Mar 04, 2015 7:48 pm

The android stepped through the mirror and opened his red eyes to see stone hallways that were at least maintained...looked as though someone or something had lived here. His eyes observed the various words that meant failure, a question that he pondered at times in his duty. The screams alerted the android to others, but considering how all the cells were all barred, or cages...he didn't see anything in them. He ran a check to ensure that his audio receptors were not malfunctioning.

They weren't.

Something was making that noise....but what? After going through Naomi's he knew some insanity was expected, but this...was this really within him? A prison? His hand clutched his chest and the android took a deep breath, that is when a voice cut through the darkness. His voice...just like Naomi's had. He knew the source of this voice, and it spoke some feelings that rang true. He never did know what Maria was doing...he trusted her, but she was still so young. Had he been making a mistake? What other choice did he have? He couldn't bring her into the mess that was terrorizing her new home...he couldn't take her anywhere so dangerous. That would be a direct violation of his duty...but....maybe he could spend a bit more time at home. A bit more time with her, have friends come over to his home instead of going out. Maria would like to see some of them.

He still had no idea that it was so dark...so dark. Was this really the world he had created? Was it really? The android would pinch himself if he could, but....he knew that this was some part of him. It had to be. He would turn to his companion, Hyde, when the redhead was ready to go, "Alright, let's do this." He said before progressing into the dungeon, as he did so he heard the screams of his creator, a woman who he did not know, and then finally...sobbing. Sobbing that could only belong to one young girl.

Maria....

She was crying and the android notably picked up his pace, he felt himself torn between two ideas. The logical part that was using his past experience to indicate that this was not the real Maria, and what was deemed to be the emotional connection that would drive Sentinel to climb mountains and cross oceans if it meant she was safe. Then the sobbing stopped suddenly, the android's knew what it was like to have goosebumps at that point. His circuits ran cold, and he blinked he was suddenly sprinting toward where he believed the crying was coming from.

"Maria! Maria! Where are you!?" He shouted throughout the prison, his distress was evident. Was she hurt!? Possible scenarios ran through the android, each one worse than the last. Simon's words floated in Sentinel's mind, constantly haunting him.

"One day...you will fail....to protect....her. When...that day comes....you will rue what you have done here." This pressed the very distressed android to keep pushing himself further and further. Not wanting those words to come true...the cannot come true. He won't let them come true.

What in the world……… is this where you used to live or something alphonse?” Hyde wasn’t too sure what he was going to expect, maybe something a bit high tech because sentinel was a robot. However they seemed to have arrived in a place that looked something like the medieval times.“ No that can’t be right, I was kind of figuring that we were sent directly into your memories or  something. However it’s just a warped reality that was  created by your shadow. Though it does bring me to one question, why does it look like a prison in here? What is this supposed to represent?” Hyde   said it out loud, but he wasn’t really expecting to hear an answer, an answer would probably bring him even more questions. Suddenly, he would hear alphonse’s voice. But it could have been  his shadow, due to the fact that alphone didn’t say anything initially as of yet. All of these screams, the only thing he could recognize was the sobs of what appeared to be a little girl. “……” Hyde frowned, he didn’t like this. Being immersed within Naomi’s head was nowhere near compared to Alphonse’s mind,   being here kind of threw him off.

Alphonse most likely heard it, rushing into action due to the fact that he heard Maria’s voice.  It was pretty obvious as to why Alphonse would act; he practically loved that little girl. He served as her stand in father, regardless of the fact that he was the one that killed her father and tried to find a way to cope with it. He spoke to Hyde at least, he wasn’t too sure if he spoke to the others or not. Either way Hyde wasn’t going to hold it against him, he knew how it felt to be pressured into doing something that initially seemed right, even if it was at the cost and expenses of others. However, it didn’t change the fact that this place was dangerous and had it’s own traps in store. “Alphone! It’s not real! Remember, we came through the mirror. There is no way that maria can be here!” Hyde would say this as he ran after his friend; he was pretty concerned for his well-being. “ Al!  Remember Naomi’s dungeon,  you know what will happen! Don’t rush into things!” Surprisingly, Hyde was the one that was saying all of this.  It didn’t mean he was too  much of a hypocrite though.

Sentinel's Broken Prison (Prime Awakening) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Sentinel's Broken Prison (Prime Awakening)   Sentinel's Broken Prison (Prime Awakening) EmptyThu Mar 05, 2015 12:41 pm

Shunnosuke pondered quite some time before actually managing to visit the Velvet Room once again. Having his presence requested instantly reminded him of the last time. Naomi's time, to be fully honest. His impressions of that place weren't the best, and his impressions of what is exactly a Shadow and how they exactly sprout from the depths of your soul left a deep mark in the boy's psyche. A mix of curiosity and dread, perhaps. He wanted to be there and check it for himself, but at the same time the whole moral panic and psychological terror that facing your other self could implant... no. It's scary what lies deep beyond the mirror's reflection, deep inside your own soul. Not everyone could do that. Naomi, somehow, had the necessary strenght to do it. Alphonse, apparently, has it to. As for him...he wasn't sure if he would ever have it too. And meanwhile, there he was, complying to the Attendant's request and following his team mates into that “adventure”, so to speak. Alphonse, of all the group members, always seemed like the composed, level-headed and intelligent member. There was a degree of jealousy in analyzing his fellow's virtues compared to his. Shunnosuke knew he was also composed, level-headed and intelligent. But ironically, it was the non-human member of the party the one who has showed more humanity and virtuosity than any of them and the one responsible for keeping them together. With all the supernatural events, it wasn't a disturbance when Shunnosuke found out Alphonse was an android and still able to summon a Persona, but it definitely came as a surprise when he realized the robot also had shadows in his heart. His own insecurities, like every other human being — which he wasn't.

By now, Shunnosuke had already grasped the concept about that part of the Velvet Room. It's called Mirror for a reason, to expose not what lies in the surface but what's beyond the reflection. The surroundings are just that, a physical, material reflection of what feelings the owner can't show outwardly. And what Alphonse hides inside was, in first instance, terrifying. Even more than Naomi's. A medieval dungeon, with cells everywhere. Screams, many echoing through the empty hallways, yet they were alone in that place. Undoubtedly a scenery worth of a gore, horror movie. Even then, what scared the teenager the most was listening to Alphonse's voice. Similarly to what happened to Naomi, he knew it was probably his Shadow lurking somewhere in that place, saying the things the real Alphonse couldn't say. That time when they met... There was something Alphonse had told, to which Shunnosuke took little to no credit at all. “I'm a killer”, in short words. While he fiercely glanced the android in silence, he wondered...could it really be true? Was he aligned to a murderer...?

Sentinel's Broken Prison (Prime Awakening) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Sentinel's Broken Prison (Prime Awakening)   Sentinel's Broken Prison (Prime Awakening) EmptyThu Mar 05, 2015 2:43 pm

The android had glanced back at Hyde, "I hold no memory of this place, this is no doubt an image of what lies....within." The android said with great hesitation...as if he was still getting used to it being within him too. When the question of what was this supposed to represent...the android felt his stomach tighten and his heart dropped. Could it be....could it really be? In a soft voice, the android had only a general idea and voiced his thoughts, "His lab..." he said quietly, it was then that he noticed Shunnosuke. He wasn't sure why he was here, but he would take the help. Though the android was concerned with what the young man would see, he knew Shunnosuke to be very judgmental, but...in the end of this journey...would he understand?

Jumping back to him running he heard Hyde yell at him to settle down. Hyde was telling him that it wasn't the real Maria. But what Hyde didn't understand is that Sentinel could not tell the difference. While the logical part told him that it was not real, the rest of his mind told him that it was REAL. It was Maria he heard sobbing, no doubt she was alone...afraid...scared out of her mind. In this dark prison a place where she had never been with monsters. No...no he couldn't allow her to be like that, but then Hyde said that he shouldn't rush into things. He knew what would happen, the android stopped at the end of a corridor.

He was right...rushing headlong into it would endanger himself and endanger Maria. As much as the android wanted to run to her, and hold her to comfort her...he couldn't. He couldn't do one of the things that he knew Maria would feel better with...his objective...keep her safe and happy. "Okay...but we cannot dally, I-...We have to get to Maria." The android said before pressing further into the dungeon moving at a jog instead of a full blown sprint like he had before. His eyes were constantly glancing around the prison and his audio receptors trying to keep an eye out for Maria. He has to protect her...he can't let her go. He can’t let Simon be right. He simply cannot let her be harmed. No, he had to protect her.

Despite him being level headed, his worries only made him more human. It was natural to worry about the ones he cared for and it was natural to want to protect them. Perhaps he was more human than he had thought, but as it stands he had one concern and that is to find Maria and beat his shadow.

Sentinel's Broken Prison (Prime Awakening) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Sentinel's Broken Prison (Prime Awakening)   Sentinel's Broken Prison (Prime Awakening) EmptyThu Mar 05, 2015 7:00 pm

“ Oh! Hey Shun! You came! See! i knew you was going to come for me and Alphonse!” Hyde would say as he looked back and smiled. He was happy to see that has friend was here. This meant lot of things to be exact, like Hyde having the ability to go all out this time around when it came to fighting shadows. It would have been notably harder if it was only the two of them but Hyde would be able to rise up to the challenge. If anything, he wasn’t going to let Alphonse get swallowed in by his shadow and guilt. Now that Shun was here Hyde could fight even harder and use everything this disposal. “ Sorry if it seems like I dragged you here Shun, I just figured that it would be nice to get in some practice since I kind of have a feeling that yours is next. I mean, we have been getting stronger for a while, I can’t shake the feeling that your awakening isn’t too far behind. It was a little bit of conversation as Hyde ran after Alphonse with great haste. If Shun was next, they would have to expect to experience this kind of tenacity when it happens

“Al! I know I know that we have to save her! Even if it is just an illusion that was molded by your soul, it’s still her…right? Is it about the talk that we had? The way she might be after you tell her? It doesn’t necessarily have to reflect her danger….. it could be…. Her potential despair…….. but I’m not saying this to discourage you or anything.... but if that what it truly is...are you ready to experience that? “ Hyde was only trying to console his friend, he didn’t know what else to do besides help Alphonse get through this mess. “!!!” Suddenly, Hyde started to get a very strange feeling, it was the same feeling that he would associate with when there was some kind of danger that was heading their way. OR this case, it would be danger that would be right ahead of them. “Alphonse! Shun! There something ahead, something bad……” As soon as they turned the corner, Hyde’s instinct was right; there were shadows straight ahead of where they currently were. With few more steps, it would only be a matter of time before they ran into them. “ I’m ready! Ill back you up Alphonse! No matter what!” Hyde would then look at shun with a smile. “And I’ll protect you too, so don’t worry. Were cleaning house Shun!”

Sentinel's Broken Prison (Prime Awakening) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Sentinel's Broken Prison (Prime Awakening)   Sentinel's Broken Prison (Prime Awakening) EmptyThu Mar 05, 2015 11:49 pm

Well, I received the warning just like everybody else. Though I prefer Naomi's imagination. What the hell is this place? You all sure have sick minds. — He said, replying to Hyde's greeting. Shunnosuke didn't know if he was there “for him and Alphonse”, he wasn't even aware the redhead had decided to comply to the Attendant's request as well. In any event, the three of them are there. It was kind of odd Naomi didn't show up for this. Alphonse was the one who kept her in line and offered his support at the best of his abilities, it would make sense if Naomi reciprocated the favor. If even he received the notification to show up and offer assistance to Alphonse, then Naomi had received it as well...thenw hy? Sure something the teenager didn't see with good eyes.

Hm? It's fine, but... my Awakening? What? — He glanced, clearly confused by Hyde's statement. Does that mean he expected the blonde to be the next to go into that mysterious world and “face his inner, darker side”? No way. That definitely won't happen anytime soon. Or anytime at all. — I don't think I'll ever go through this trouble. There isn't anything to hide, whatever I have to say, I say it. — Despite the exterior confidence, deep down, Shunnosuke didn't even trust his own words. Sure, he was fearless about voicing whatever opinion he holds, but... that whole “awakening” thing...no. He wouldn't think of it, he didn't have to. At least not now.

— The ongoing conversation made him stay silent. Just there, speeding his pace up against his body's will to keep up with both guys, who're notoriously more fit than him. “The way she might be after you tell her”. Shunnosuke payed special attention to this part. His eyes fit Alphonse once again. Tell her what? That he's an android with an odd human conscience? It may be surprising at first, but it's a harmless revelation, assuming she doesn't know already. Should that be the case, it's nothing to truly worry about, Alphonse wasn't a dangerous machine you'd have to turn off when not functioning properly, so maybe, maybe the concerns here are slightly different. Worth the worry sensation implied by Hyde's tone. So...?

Shadows. Really. Why am I not surprised? — With that tired-sounding tone, Shunnosuke rolled his eyes when Hyde's intuition came true. They had faced quite a number of these creatures back when Naomi was the star of this whole “Awakening” process, no wonder they were scattered all over the place here was well. It seemed like a pattern. And speaking about pattern, Hyde was acting maincharactery again. The blonde didn't feel like being a damsel in distress who has to be protected, but he'd roll along, smirking at the redhead's sentence in a deriding fashion. It's like having his own vassal, and for free. — Sure, my hero, I'm counting on you.

The android glared at the shadows that stood before him, they stood between him and his main objective. Hyde commented that he was willing to support the android, which Sentinel was grateful for. After all these things would have to go as soon as possible. "Get out of our way! There are people I need to protect from harm!" The android barked at the Shadows before summoning Odysseus who jumped toward the shadows and struck them twice with a bronze spear. It was obviously trying to drive the knight's to the ground so that his allies could follow up with some easy hits.

"Hyde when you discover these things weaknesses be sure to let me know! I want to end this as fast as possible if we can." The android ordered before turning his red eyes back toward the knights who seemed to stand in his way.

“Alright, I’ll be sure to let you know.” Hyde would summon his persona as soon as he saw that Alphonse missed one of his attacks. “See?! You started to miss because you are freaking about all of this, are you even listening? You got to remain calm and remain focus. If this was the real thing, you could have got into some serious trouble.” Yes, Hyde was lecturing him, but he just didn’t want his friend to get hurt or anything. “Alright, it’s my turn! Back us up Shun!”

Back you up? Since when did I become your bodyguard? — He said, scoffing at his words while glancing at those shadows. Knights...suits the dungeon-themed surroundings, of course, but it made everything creepier than it is already. In any event, Shunnosuke summoned Andromeda, who moved her hands right over Alphonse's figure, making a reddish gleam spread all through his mechanical body, an aura which purpose was to boost his strength.

The android saw the attack going for Shunnosuke and decided to act right away, he knew that his friend was weak to most physical attacks and therefore the android had to act. He threw himself in front of Shunnosuke and took the hit for his friend, and then he saw the data on the enemy Shadows. He looked toward Hyde, "Hammer that one, and I'll take on the other one!" He shouted before turning his attention to the one that stood. He summoned his Persona to hastily deal with it and use the boost Shunnosuke had given him.
