Subject: Fledgling [Mariko Awakening] Sun Jul 07, 2019 5:30 pm
It was a foggy night, and as anyone could tell you, nights on their own were a dangerous time in Endymion city. Visibility was low, and winds were high, the gales from the alleys of Suzie Q picking up into harsher and harsher gales, with the citizens in the area packing up shop and hiding away for the evening. All but a few plucky individuals...
Mariko hated harsh winds. And harsh cold winds were even worse. As she strolled along with Shouhei at her side, she pulled her scarf up to cover her face and pulled down the knit cap she wore to more fully cover her ears. She hated the feeling of the wind in her face, and it made her squint. "Mmf..." She huffed beneath her scarf, but didn't say anything. She wondered if Shouhei knew this about her. There seemed to be lots of things he knew about her that she didn't know he knew. It was equal parts comforting and unsettling.
They were walking around Susie Q, Shouhei was showing her the stages, and some of the sights and different things that were available there. Mariko had explored a little, but this city was huge, and there were still unturned stones. Mariko wasn't particularly concerned about Night falling. Everywhere else she'd been before Endymion, the Night was no different than the day, and so time had slipped away without her realizing what would happen when night fell. There was something so easy and calming about walking with Shouhei that she nearly slipped her hand into his out of some phantom sense of nostalgia. Instead, she shoved it into her pocket and looked at him with a soft and curious expression, wondering if he'd noticed. A stupid question really.
This time he wished he didn’t, because it pained him to see her do that. While Shouhei would have wished nothing more than for Mariko to love him, he knew that she was no longer the same person she was before. That her broken memories only served for reflexive motions like wanting to hold hands. Hell, his in tact memories caused him to reflexively reach for her hand on more than one occasion.
“...Cold night. Ya wanna cut it short?” He asked, noticing her almost retreating into her scarf. More than anything, he wanted to hold her, to keep her warm. Instead a soft smile came to him as he appealed to her sweet tooth. “Better yet, how ‘bout some hot chocolate.”
Lupin had just finished the stock take of the supplies he had amassed over the last few days, They are ready to be deported to Selene. Everything seemed to be in order so Lupin started to make his way to the dorms. Triboulet then reminded him something very important. "Weren't you supposed to warn Shouhei about Mariko." Lupin's eyes widen. "Oh shit I completely forgot."
Lupin then started to rush the school dorms to warn Shouhei, it was kinda hard to see through all this mist. After running for a little bit he stumbled upon Shouhei and Mariko. This can't be good. But Lupin trying to make the best of the situation. "Oh hey guys what's up." Lupin had a smile on his face but on the inside, he and Triboulet are freaking out. This is bad really bad. Maybe the idea that Mariko is an assassin was just paranoia on Triboulet's part, Still, it could be worst. Demons could attack. But what is the likely hood of that happening?

A casual meeting between friends, and those in closeness otherwise. Whatever it was that allowed for such harsh winds, it didn't care what sort of talk these three wanted. Howling, almost roaring, the winds picked up even further, bins falling over from the nearby alleys. The fog's thickness grew even harsher, the trio barely able to see one another, and the buildings themselves seeming to disappear. The lights faded, and all around them seemed grey. Grey, grey, and nothing more.
And in the distance, a roaring, somewhat different to that of the wind.
"The cold I can handle." Mariko moaned against the wind to her not-boyfriend. "I'm thinking of creative ways to murder the wind, however." She could think of none, however. If she managed to think of something, she would surely have no problem putting it into practice.
The mention of hot chocolate, however, cooled her just fury. "Hot chocolate sounds wonderf--"
"Hey guys, wait up!" The words were familiar. It was the boy from before. Mariko grimaced, hoping he didn't mention their earlier meeting when she had brazenly asked about Shouhei to a stranger. She really couldn't escape the shame of it, it seemed.
She turned to say something to Lupin, but the wind caught at her coat tails and her skirt, and she was suddenly very thankful she'd worn insulated hot pants under her skirt this evening. A hard blush colored her cheeks as she turned back toward the howling, empty darkness. She heard the roar, and from her own throat, somewhere deep in the back, she growled. It wasn't a human sort of noise. A hot fire burned in her eyes, and she could sense danger on the wind. She took a step forward. "Shouhei, send your friend home. Something tells me there's something...angry in the wind." Her entire mien had shifted. She was no longer the damaged, tag-along damsel she'd been the past few days. Now, she was coiled tight like a spring, a predator ready to strike at a sudden movement.
Internally Shouhei cursed that Mariko wore hot pants this eve, but it was only logical on a cold and windy night like this. His lewd thoughts were immediately dispelled by the deathly cold, the vicious gales of wind, the monstrous sounds emanating from both Mariko and their surroundings. Her instinct and his kicked into their natural state, that a threat was imminently approaching, and fast.
“...This ain’t Lupin’s first gig; he could be of use for this scrap. Ain’t that right, Lupin?” Shouhei said over his shoulder, as he simply continued to stride towards the looming danger. Slowly his arms began to wind around in circles as he stretched himself out for the upcoming battle. Despite the unnatural frigidity of the air, Shouhei’s blood boiled in response for a fight. His hands began to clench and unfurl, his knuckles cracking each time. As he lead the trio, neither of them could see the fang-bearing smile on his facade.
“...We’re still on for hot chocolate after we deal with this trash, yeah?”
Triboulet just said one thing about this whole situation while in Lupin's head. "Aw shit Lupin here we go again, more demons coming in hot." Lupin then responded to Shouhei with a voice indicating confidence. "Triboulet and I are ready to do some damage, you would think demons would learn by now that fighting us is a bad idea." Lupin then pulled out his pogo stick ready to demonstrate his wonderful soulbound weapon.
Lupin then turned to Mariko trying to keep her calm in this dire scenario. "If you think this pogo stick is only good for bouncing, your wrong." Then Lupin transformed into his terrorist outfit and the pogo stick transformed into a spear. Lupin then said "Triboulet get ready." Triboulet appeared ready to fight with Lupin and greeted the two. "Hi I am the voice inside his head that keeps telling him to burn stuff." Lupin then just said in an unsure tone. "Right. Alright, demons show yourselves. Unless you want to change your mind about this." Lupin then quickly turned to Shouhei before looking around. "I hope she knows how to fight, this might get risky." Lupin and Triboulet started to look around.

Experience was clearly useful for the three of them, aware of the nature of demons actions, or at least, the existence of the super natural... As they stood on guard, the sound of things dropping would happen. Bones clattered next to their feet were they to look down, except for Mariko, who happened to have a gun land in front of her. Perhaps it was a left over from a failed survivor. Still, it had ammunition, so, there wasn't anything wrong with that.
Then a roar from above. A roar that denoted it's presence... It? The demon, perhaps the one responsible for all of this night's unpleasantries. As the group looked up, there it was, protruding through the fog and floating above them.
Then... With a cry, more creatures arrived, flying and hovering just below the group. Younger demons, perhaps, or at the very least, smaller.
Let combat for the fledgling terrorists begin... Please post your stats...
Mariko's growling grew louder as the bones fell from the sky, and the gun fell at her feet. She hadn't looked behind her, but when she did to check on Lupin she saw him dressed to impress, with one of those...Persona things. She didn't have time to worry about that now, though. A Dragon was emerging from the clouds over head. No, three of them.
"Hmph..." She scoffed and reached down for the shot gun. With practiced precision she quickly checked to see if the weapon was loaded, and what with. A lucky chance, this. She spun the gun around a slender finger, despite it's weight, and pointed it at the dragon in the middle. As she did so, she transformed. Wings slid out from behind her back, tearing holes in the jacket she was wearing. Horns grew from her head and her pupils narrowed into slits. A large tail wound it's way out from beneath her skirt. That...was a little uncomfortable. But she would deal with it. She hadn't been expecting the need to take on her true appearance this evening. Despite the discomfort, she felt freer than she had in a little while. Her wings beat, carrying her a few feet off the ground as she looked to the winged creatures.
"This is my domain. Leave or I will turn you to ashes."
Mariko and Lupin both changed into their respective forms for battle; while Mariko’s face changed, Shouhei still admired how beautiful she still was, no matter the form. However he could only stare so long, as three draconic beasts flew above them. Acquiring the targets, Shouhei bumped his fists together in excitement.
Once he had done so, crimson shards of light pieced together the demonic arms of Take-Minakata, armored limbs that manifested immediately. A ripple of electricity, a black sheen of energy flowed over the rest of Shouhei, forming his Terrorist gear in a split second.
“...There’s only room for one dragon here, you shitbirds,” Shouhei snarled, his voice a synthesized threat.

There was not much more to say for Lupin except. "Ok she has powers to nice. Makes my life easier then." Lupin pulled out his gun Holy diver and started to aim at the dragons. "Say the word and I am ready to go."
Triboulet berfore fighting decided to ask Shouhei and Mariko something. "Do you two know each other or something?" Triboulet is looking for anything that proves his theory about Mariko being an assassin. So far gaining lizards features is a step in the right direction. But nothing concrete so far but it might help his argument later.
Lupin then snapped at Triboulet. "You can ask them later when we are not surrounded by demons." Triboulet turned his attention back towards the demons. "Right."
Alright, Lupin is ready to do some damage.

Hidden beneath the biker helmet of his terrorist garb, Shouhei could only smile. To see Mariko openly oppose demons brought a sense of joy, of pride, in his childhood friend. She always stood up to anything that challenged her, and this was no different. Snapping his fingers, bobbing his head to an unheard song, Shouhei was definitely in the mood for this fight.
“Eyes on the prize, guys. While they take to the skies, we’ll always be one step ahead, leading to their timely demise, much to their dread~” melodically Shouhei sang, a future dirge, living up to his namesake. A fiery aura briefly lit around Mariko, Lupin, and himself, as they could feel themselves growing stronger, more confident.
