Base & Transformed Appearance:

Mariko has a thin, but leanly muscled build which contains a strength you wouldn't expect by looking at her. Her eyes are a Hazel color with flecks of blue, and her hair is short-cropped and black. She has large, shrewd eyes and a pleasant face. She stands 5'5" tall and weights about 145lbs. She likes to wear comfortable clothes, sometimes revealing legs and midrift in the summer time, and colorful jackets, skirts, and leggings in the winter time. She is often seen wearing sunglasses when the sun is low as well.

True Self:

In her true self form her ears elongate, her hair lightens in color and shortens, and her skin becomes paler. She...also happens to gain dragon aspects such as horns, claws on one hand, and a tail. The claws that she gains on her right hand are retractable and also count as her Soul bound.

Personality:
Beauty from Agony
when she was younger, she considered herself to be a very optimistic and out-going and friendly person. She enjoyed a plethora of friends, school activities, and passions. Even though her life took a turn for the worst, and she has done things she isn't proud of, she still desires to be the person who had so many good things in her life. To most who encounter her, she seems like a typical girl of her age, if a little spacey and aloof at times.

Active
Mariko is a very active person. She doesn't like to stand still, and frequently goes out on walks or works out to maintain her physical strength. When she gets friends, she will spend time with them as well. But she has to figure out how to get them first...

Damaged
As much as she would like to prove otherwise, Mariko knows that she is a damaged person deep down to her core. While she is now able to start over fresh, she finds she doesn't know how. She struggles with the person she used to be and is unsure of who she is now. Due to the experiments that led to her original demise, she has trouble remembering certain parts of her past correctly. It makes it hard for her to see the path forward.

Suppressed Emotion: Dragon of Avarice
Her true self is a dragon, and much like a dragon, Mariko wants things. It doesn't matter what those things are. Friends, jewels, status, experiences. Whatever she wants, she wants fiercely. The things she acquires are important to her, and she will defend them as fiercely as she fights to acquire them.

—Description: Mariko's desire for victory and conquest in battle has the effect of inspiring her comrades in the same way. Allies who cast buff skills receive a 5% boost to the potency of their buff skills.

—Description: Mariko's presence tends to demoralize her opponents, as such, debuffs she casts are 15% more effective.

—Strength Name: Assassin's touch
—Description: Mariko is quick and good with her hands. She was trained in the arts of stealth, assassination, and deception, and as such is accomplished in skills like lock picking, slight of hand, and knows how to take advantage of hand-to-hand combat with dexterity over physical strength. This increases her luck stat by 15%

—Strength Name: Wingbeats of the dragon
—Description: The wings of Mariko's true form give her a limited flight ability that is quicker than actual walking, allowing her to move double her speed when she moved in dungeon movement, as well as the ability to fly up into the air about 5 meters.

—Description: When things don't go her way, sometimes it's hard for Mariko to bounce back. Debuffs that effect her last an additional turn.

—Weakness Name: Splintered Mind
—Description: Because her mind is already damaged, Markio is 5% more susceptible to the Charm ailment, and the ailment lasts one additional turn when she is affected.

—Weakness Name: Assassin's touch [-]
—Description: Mariko's training in stealth and dexterous combat has a downside in that when she is physically overpowered it's difficult for her to counter. Her Ppstr is reduced by 15%.

—Weakness Name: Right...between the eyes?
—Description: Mariko has compunctions against using guns because of some of the things she's been through with the Yakuza. She tends to not have the guts to aim at a vital spot when using her weapon, and deals 15% less damage with her firearm as a result.

The Background

History:Mariko lived a pretty average life in Japan. She got good grades - though not the best, She had good friends, and she had loving parents. She lived next door to a boy named Shouhei, who was something of a personal mission of hers. Shouhei was a rough and tumble sort of boy from a very young age. An air of unfortunate events hung about him, like nothing in his life would go right even if he tried.

It would be fair to say Mariko pittied him. But more than that, she wanted to believe that his actions, if he tried hard enough, could change the perception of those around him. She did her best to be his friend no matter what, and came to appreciate his differences for what they were, while trying to help him better himself.

Her dream was to be an Idol. She wanted it more than she wanted anything, and if her friends and family's words were any indication, it was definitely something within her reach. Her clubs and recitals and plays were a great distraction not only for herself, but for Shouhei. The two of them became even more inseparable after they began to attend these music and singing classes together.

But all of that changed the day of the motorcycle accident. Little did she or Shouhei know, The Yakuza had been dangling the boy along for quite some time, wanting to make him into some kind of weapon. When Mariko was nearly killed in the same accident they pulled Shouhei from, they suddenly received two for the price of one.

Shouhei lived through his experiments, but Mariko did not. They weren't meant for her, after all. She was little more than a guinea pig for their exploration. Pain bleached much of this time from her mind, and as she died, something nobody expected happened, a new presence took over. A strength that Mariko had hidden and denied herself surfaced to protect her, merging with what remained of her psyche. Two broken puzzle pieces fitting together imperfectly.

The result was a Shadow Self who the dumbstruck researchers dubbed Tiamat. When she was born, she was confused. There were too many broken pieces to put back together, and she was easily influenced to do the bidding of the Yakuza who had made her. They used her small, unimposing frame to their advantage, and, in a world full of demons and evil creatures beyond count, they made use of her Shadow as protection. While the majority of her psyche slept and healed itself, her body and rampant shadow burned countless enemies of the Yakuza to bits.

It wasn't until later that she began to register the screams, understand what she was doing, and gradually recall who and what she was.

By the by, she was brought to Endymion by clandestine means. Her mission was to find Shouhei, who had disappeared here, and bring him back. Or kill him, if need be. However, Endymion proved to be a dangerous place, and on their first night in the city the men who had come with her were devoured by demons. Watching, she decided to let them die alone, and fled.

Now, she hopes to be able to find a new life in the city. And find Shouhei. Perhaps he, the only one she remembers with any great amount, can help piece together the splintered pieces of her mind.

+10% to buffs for the entire party is way to strong, you'll need to retool this.
