It took a while, but with enough elbow grease it was possible to bring the full might of the Church Knight onto both rebels. The Heretic follower wielding a cleaver was no match for the agents and would crumble to the ground. With the last one struck down, the gunfire would begin to lull into a silence. Jorge began to notice it and was just about to break into the comms before someone spoke through them. "Father, they're retreating! Do we pursue?"
As soon as they asked, the sirens began to scream distantly in the air. Of course, the law enforcement would be coming. In a surveillance state, how would they not send men in uniform packing down the streets after phone calls on gunshots? A sour look spread on the priest's face as he glared into the empty streets before he replied. "Negative. We'll be getting the cops involved in this. We've underestimated what they're capable of. We'll need to pull back now. All forces, head on back to the Church."
Jorge heaved a weary sigh and gave a look towards the Knight. One that was impressed with his work, but also grim that their mission to capture the notorious Heretic failed.
He moved to start grasping at the follower's masks. All it showed were faces, human faces. There was nothing that suggested anything demonic at all. But when the priest flipped the mask to its back, he scoffed at it and gave a low whistle. Inside appeared to be all sorts of technological hardware inside. "Well, I'll be. Not just training, but equipment too. Gonna be a first that there's a cult this organized and equipped. Thermal vision goggles and radio communications... Geez."
