As she second guessed her decisions, Cecil smiles sympathetically. "Hey, I'm not sure I would have done much differently. I mean...I guess that might just mean I'm just as bad, but better to be safe than sorry sometimes. Better than it going hungry."

"Uhh..." Cecil seems a little bewildered as he's pleaded with to go and visit the stray-not-stray canine by the riverside, smiling awkwardly. "A-Alright? I - I guess that might be nice?"

Once he agreed, she couldn’t help but to smile and, more than that, squeal in a high-pitched tone, clapping effusively. “Awesome! I’m counting on you, you gave me your word, there’s no turning back now!”, she pointed her finger to Cecil, though keeping it a fairly reasonable distance from his face, before bending down a bit to turn her attention back to the two cats.

“Hey, you said something like you’ve had pets in the past, right? Can you tell me what they were like? Bernie is my first. I never had a pet when I was a kid, I was never allowed to. So now that I’m old enough, I feel like it because I like the company. I think the worst part is just, you know, cleaning the mess, the dirty, the poo, which is kinda ew for me, but can’t really complain.”

He nods slowly with a nervous smile on his face. "I...ok, but did you really have to phrase it like that?" He laughs awkwardly, scratching at the back of his head. "You make it sound like a bigger thing than it is."

As he's asked about his old pets, his expression turns wistful, hand coming down from his head to rest in his pocket as he starts to reflect. "Can't say I had to clean up after them. I just got to enjoy the fun parts." He sighs quietly, looking down into the corner of his eye before looking back to Brit. "We had this fluffy little white dog with really curly fur that'd constantly be running around, jumping up at people, just...constantly active. You had to be careful where and how you sat to avoid getting a tongue bath." He chuckles. "M...we had a rabbit, too. Timid little thing that had to be kept apart from the dog. Still, it was quite happy to be petted if it was comfortable around you." The memories were fond, but he couldn't help but be reminded of how he missed them.
