He actually intentionally fluffs his hair to look as if he isn’t particularly neat, but then ferociously eradicates any blemishes or imperfections in the rest of his face in hopes of looking “naturally” glamorous.

His parents’ obsession with “noblesse oblige” ensured that Marta’s otherwise privileged, pampered childhood, spent mostly in various elite circles, was colored by the ruinous philanthropy of his parents. For example, in his celebration of his birth, Marta’s family donated a large sum to a hospital to have it renamed after Marta. Po philanthropy was as much altruism as it was social pretenses - Marta’s childhood was marked by extremely strict social rules to make sure that his family retained their status in elite society - rules that he meticulously followed regardless of the pain they caused him. His childhood was littered with friends and promises that he was forced to lose touch with just because of incompatible backgrounds.

Marta was however, always also haunted by the spectre of constant decline As his family fortunes continued to decline, Marta quickly noticed that almost all of his supposed acquaintances in both his family’s social circles and school distanced themselves from him. In the vicious rat race for social status, he had become an obsolete good. He quickly found himself mocked and scorned, often by those from families that were once far lower in status than his.

Interestingly, his actual family totally spoiled him, leading him to go through childhood relatively fat and personally withdrawn. It was only as his family fortunes declined that Marta gained both his personal drive, sense of vanity, and detailed cultivation of personal appearance. In many ways, the experience also gave him a fanatical opposition to complacency.

However, the Great Divide ended up the family’s salvation, which gave them a quick jolt in assets. In its aftermath, in order to permanently turn around the flagging family conglomerate, Marta's older sister arranged a marriage between Marta and the oldest daughter of a companion conglomerate, Song Industries, which for all intents and purposes in turn bailed out the failing P.O. Group (in a move that conveniently put Marta’s older sister in charge).

However, Marta’s fiance found Marta utterly repulsive, both physically and socially, utterly unworthy. Although they are still together and Marta has even been recently forced to transfer schools in order to “move into” her townhouse, she utterly despises him, seeks to make his life as miserable as possible, openly flaunting her pre-existing relationship, and the relative superiority of her family in wealth/social status.

Marta at first genuinely want to make the arrangement work, acting overly obsequious to his fiancee, which only disgusted her more. She was promised someone...presumably much more impressive than Marta, and she would not stand for it. The entire experience seems to have given Marta a rather unhealthy view of women.

Marta for his part, realizing the importance of this arrangement to the P.O. Group, does the bare minimum to keep up bare pretenses, despite various degrees of emotional and physical abuse, but otherwise avoids “living at home”, drifting between internet cafes and supporting that lifestyle with a variety of night jobs.

On campus, some people have nicknamed him “the Fluffy Prince”, in reference to his fluffy hair and the stuffed animals hanging from his school bag. However, few approach him, due to his aloof demeanor and the widespread and technically correct rumor that he is married to a wealthy, beautiful heiress.

This character has been edited since being approved but has been reviewed by a mod for changes. Combat Strengths/Weaknesses edited only, it's fine.

Re-approved. For posterity's sake the extra cost to skills will be on the total resource used, so it'll be 10% of the SP used for magical skills and 10% of the total HP used for physical skills (HP cost of 50 becomes 55 for example), not a flat 10% added to the cost of physical skills.
