Welcome to New Arcana!
Welcome, Welcome! You've probably guessed by now, but this is a text-based Persona RPG site for Atlus fans, by Atlus fans. If you're new to Shin Megami Tensei, this place can still be for you, so no need to dash towards the doors! Your first stop should be the introduction board so we can introduce ourselves. Then right after that, feel free to go through our vital information to get a good feel of the site. We hope you enjoy your stay, and if you have any questions don't hesitate to post them here. Ciao!
Shin Megami Tensei and Persona belong to ATLUS. We own nothing, and have simply used their data to create a world of our own. They are the true geniuses behind the scenes.
"Threat level...nonexistant." Jackie's voice was monotone. "Good dog. It was underwhelming, but fast. Time is of the essence. Though I would've liked to have finished my scan before their life signs faded. With that gripe left behind, Jackie followed Officer Tsurinai towards the mirror. "...Perhaps he means to taunt us as we make progress? He was speaking through that mirror earlier." Jackie stared at the mirror distrustfully.
Vanguard: The foremost cadets. Those who specialize in being at the front of the battle would want to take this role in combat. Cadets who take this role have a latent boost to defense stats by 25% and their attacking stats are raised by 10%. However, their SP and luck stat are lowered by 30%.
He was on the edge of blurting out. What the the hell just happened? They were off to hit up the enemy, but they were swatted away like flies by that beast of a Persona the mutt shat out of their primitive mind. The very thought a dirty mutt could outshine him drastically insulted his sense of dignity. He wanted to be angry, but he was still trying so hard to not laugh at the serious absurdity. Really, he must've lost his mind during the Divide. The young dull Cadet brushed aside his shock when his superior spied something. "Could be part of his game. Let's proceed with caution."
—Strength Name: Magic Eye —Description: As a result of the trial experiments his parents let him join, his eye can turn its sclera black and iris scarlet red. It allowed him to have vastly improved eyesight in which he can almost perceive near sub-sonic speeds. But it doesn't mean he can act right away for most situations. 15% boost to Luck stat.
—Strength Name: Kerrigan Vigor —Description: His workout ethic gave him an impressive body to behold for someone of his stature. He's tough and built to endure most of anything. Most importantly he's built to keep himself going for long periods of time when under stress and exertion. Slash attacks cost 2% less to use.
—Strength Name: Basic Combat Training —Description: Originally he was aiming to be a police officer. But his family is leading him to become a Cadet. Taking advice and training from his former military and law enforcement family members, Joseph can carry himself with confidence and knows what he's doing when in the heat of the moment. Strike attacks cost 2% less to use.
Human Weaknesses:
—Weakness Name: Normal Joe —Description: Because of his focus on working out and perhaps as a result of his experimentation, he finds difficulty in using magical skills. It doesn't mean he can't use them, but it will take out a whole lot more. Magical attack skills cost 5 more SP to cast.
—Weakness Name: Normal Joe 2 —Description: Likewise, because of his lacking affinity to using magical skills, it's harder for him to aim using them. It complicates his ability to use fine and precise actions with them. 10% additional miss chance when using magical attack skills.
—Weakness Name: Psychosis —Description: His eye tends to have sudden random "attacks". But it is more of an attack of his own mind. Kerrigan experiences a debilitating state of something resembling dementia from time to time. For the first three turns in battle only, Kerrigan has a 10% chance of skipping that turn.
With the glass broken, the entire team would begin to feel a vertigo-like experience through their very consciousness. Everything seemed to be blurred. All things came in reverse or even flipped left to right. But there were also moments when there was full clarity before returning to that same state of dizziness...

Whatever Shiina did to the mirror, it was a horrible idea. A horrible sensation was spreading through his body. Nothing made any sense. His entire world was a blur and it was starting to cause him to lose sense of himself little by little. What did he do to even deserve this? Was it when he didn't hold the door open for that elderly man? Bull, he was spry enough to open the door himself. And just for a little bit of karmic justice, he was going to go around like a mix of a coked up meth-head on a cocktail of vodka, adderall, and LSD. Joseph would curse vehemently as usual, but his mind was like butter. Soft, mushy, and melting.
"BAHBBRGG! FANNSEEE JUHIIII!"
He waved and pointed the direction where the team should be going. Leader or no leader, they must advance no matter how fucked they're feeling. Joseph felt that much left in his now-dubious mind. He almost tripped a couple of times. But his handy katana was there to help him up when the going went tough. This was especially true when turning the corner to their next destination. But that didn't stop him from hitting his face against the wall and the floor sometimes. He wiped the blood off his nose before continuing on without any worries or concerns for his own well-being. To be honest, did he seem the type right now capable of it?
"KANWWOO YOU JEEE? FO HURTER?"
He rigorously jabbed the pointed end of his katana at an incoming horde to face. It was an angry jab. Hard to tell if he hated their very existence or that he just was losing his mind from the sheer vertigo-like sensation. He wasn't crazy. Normal brain functions just weren't possible for him as far as communication went. But if there was at least any comfort, his teammates wouldn't be able to tell he was actually spewing out curses that would make any sailor blushing scarlet.
The whites in his left eye turned dark as the iris shifted red. There was a moment of full clarity at long last, but for how long? He knew there were enemies ahead and to advance they needed to be cut down. The faster they got through this stupid crap, the less he'll make an ass of himself.
"Oi. Let's play, you Psyche-Terrorist bastards."
Movement:
Down 4 and Right 1. Hitting the demon star, let's go!

Error detected. Issue unresolved. Initiating repair protocols...unable to initiate. Gitfuk'd.EXE. Cause of error unknown, but we kindly suggest you not bother sending the Unit in for repairs. We're just going to send him right back to you after turning him off and on again, which you could do yourself AND keep him with you. Quite frankly, we do not want your garbage, and trying to pawn him off on us would be a dick move, bro. Your warranty doesn't even cover this, you know that, right? How on earth did you break your unit this badly? Did you stick a fork into it? Did you drop it into some water? Did you install the Onion browser? All of these are terrible things, and we're very disappointed in you. We make a lovely bit of tech, and you fuck it up. We did not think it possible someone could install-or create-a virus this bad. It is not safe to restart your unit-nor will it ever be. You should have thought of that before using the internet with this unit, though. We are not responsible for your carelessness. If you, for some ungodly reason, continue using this unit, we are also not responsible for anything that happens as a Byproduct.

Though, you may feel the urge to scream at the person who caused this confusion, hereby called 'Richie' you should not do that, lest you face court marshaling. She is the superior officer, and if she (Richie) felt that it was a good course of action to smash a mirror in what was clearly a trap, that was her decision to make. We kindly recommend you roll with it for now and quietly submit a report of her recklessness to the P-Prince. It is only right. You would report anyone for their suicidal actions mistakes. It is how meatbags learn, failure. If the target was to attack now, you would surely all die.
Enemy detected. Engaging in meme combat, glorious melee combat, deus vult, air combat, nuking the building combat. Protecting subjects 'Good Doggo', 'Richie', and 'C00l Dud369420' failure shall result in being laughed at by other units, particularly [REDACTED].
"Your failure is for the good of the city...stop resisting." You edgy little shit.

That was... a mistake. Another mistake. One more to the pile. Mistakes can't be fixed. They're just stains, stains you can't clean or get rid of. Mistakes are mistakes, they're called that because they're something to feel bad about. Her stomach turned, her mind raced. If this was another mistake of hers, then leading this team was just another mistake.
//"What a joke."//
Shiina's eyes glowed a bright golden as a switch flipped in her mind.
//"A real Cadet wouldn't be affected by this. It's not a failure if you don't let it hinder you. All that matters..."// Static surged from Shiina's hands as her lips curled into a grin. //"...is succeeding regardless of this."// Her mind wasn't clear. Maybe that was a mistake too? Who cares. //"I'd be careful about calling something a failure if I were you. We've only failed if we don't accomplish our goal. The way we go about it never mattered."// It was cold. Much like the Empress living inside her, Shiina refused to accept a mistake as just that.
//"Accelerate."//
The Magus walked calmly forward, her regular speed now matching their running pace. It wasn't very obvious, but Shiina allowed Jinguu to guide her movements, making for a still but ferocious pace. As the sparks loosened from her body, the Wild Card's surging power was made obviously apparent.
//"Let's keep going. Are you in her way? Then we'll rip you apart as well."// Calm in the face of madness. Reason in the face of chaos. If they wanted to panic and call her a failure, then let them, but a true Cadet wouldn't allow this to impact their performance. Jinguu-Tennou knew that this was their purpose... and besides, she was looking forward to doing just the same to T.
Soul Skill Name: Soul Alter - Full Accel Persona Name: Jinguu-Tennou Tier: Tier 3 Cost: 25 SP Type of Damage: Buff Description: To activate this skill, all Shiina needs to mutter is "Accel" with the intent to cast it. Upon usage, bright blue veins spark all across her body and she gains a glowing aura as the power is made manifest. The skill itself enhances Shiina's mind and body, making her feel not only as if time slows down around her while she stays the same, but her very strength is raised to superhuman levels due to this. Naturally, the boost extends to her Persona, hence the title of Soul Alter. Mechanics-wise, this skill increases Attack and Speed by 35% for three turns, but can only be cast on Shiina.
Soul Skill Name: Eye of Horus Persona Name: Seshat Tier: Tier 2 Cost: 15 SP Type of Damage: Support Description: Susan can enscribe an Eye of Horus onto a person or surface, allowing her supernatural senses where she places it.
When placed on a person the Eye of Horus allows Susan to experience things that person sees or hears and can scan enemies just like Remote View. The key difference is that unlike Remote View which establishes a remote call between the team Susan can only communicate back and forth between whoever is marked. They also need to communicate to other teammates through Susan, as in they need to tell Susan to talk to other people, they cannot directly communicate with each other. When this skill is used in this way Susan communicates to others via sending words and information into their field of vision like a Heads Up Display, the other player must speak aloud to communicate back with Susan.
When used in a dungeon the Eye of Horus senses everything within line of sight in 6 spaces through sight and hearing.
When used in PvP she senses everything within line of sight and hearing of an Eye of Horuse when not placed on a person to a range of 3 meters for every 20 points in PMstr.
Susan can place one Eye of Horus for every 20 points she has in PMstr. If she places more she must choose which one is erased to support the new mark. An Eye of Horus lasts until the end of a topic. Susan can combine this skill with her Rewrite skill by adding its SP cost to place the hieroglyph at a touch and dictate how it appears.
Jackie was marked with Eye of Horus at the beginning of the Masquerade topic, before the dungeon began.
As one strike force dispatched an enemy so would the other engage their first. To be fair Susan had been aware of their predicament with the topsy-turvy hallways and the (hopefully) short-term disorientation but had refrained from spending too much thought on the matter. They appeared to be fine if confused but the act of looking through Jackie's eyes made Susan queasy. She would speak when relevant, and as their fight wrapped up she found engaging an enemy while visually impaired to be considerably relevant. Text would dance across Jackie's vision, a familiar sight yet one foreign from his operating system. As Susan's view of her teammate's events was warped and distorted so too would her text display be corrupted.
