| "..." It was... odd how nonchalant they were about it. Almost eerily so, but for reasons too personal to herself for most of the others to understand. It wasn't as if she expected them to all keel over and die from shock-induced heart attacks, she just expected... something. Anything really. A simple raising of an eyebrow would have sufficed -- anything other than casual acceptance. As they continued onward the sinking feeling in her gut only grew and the concern that Lucian expressed assured her that she wasn't alone in her opinion. Still, she put up a front of calm determination for the moment, figuring that outward panicking would only draw unwanted attention to the group. "If we're splitting up I'll go with you Dad. We all have those weird abilities, so whatever happens, we should be fine." She whispered as she looked from door to door with a slight hint of confusion evident on an otherwise almost expressionless face. "But uh, was I zoning out or did that Tel guy not give us directions? Which of these is supposed to lead to Fel's room?" | |

| The entire room was immediately frozen by Azul's cold fury. Sounds of screams and pain as the chill embraced it's victims. Nobody fucked with Azul, and dammit he had to make sure they REMEMBERED that. Even if it meant a Frosty Murder Spree.
How he wished he could just do that...
Azul twitched in annoyance. He then leaned in,staring at Lucian. "That's why WE were sent to deliver the news, rather than some random nobody. IN CASE they reacted violently." He hissed. "I was doing exactly what we were told to do and you had no right to stop me. You might be some big shot back wherever you came from, but nobody put you in charge here." With that said, Azul rocked back on his heels, a neutral expression on his face, and his arms crossed. "After all, aren't you the one who said 'caution is good, but it'll only take us so far'? Now since you can apparently only pick for OTHER people, I'll say we should go talk to Fel." And Azul did, opening the appropriate door.

| As Azul ascended the stairs, their loud creeks echoing thorugh the bar, the solitary door at the top rattled slightly, shuffling could be heard from beyond ever so faintly. When Azul opened the door he would find himself looking into a small room with doors on each wall. The door on the east wall open for only a moment before a tall and rather slim man shut it and turned his attention Azul. "Oh! Hello there I was just... Wait, who are you?" The man eyed Azul suspiciously and put his hand back on the doornob leading into the East room. "Why are you here?" | |

| "Lookin' for a guy named Fel." Azul answered. Since nobody else seemed to have followed him yet, he shook his head. "Need to talk to him about something, regarding that 'Big Tree' that showed up a while back. He slid his hands into his pockets, and his expression managed to remain neutral, despite the fact that he was still annoyed, just a bit. He shifted his weight, noting the door the man had closed. It'd be good to keep track of that sort of thing. The more info, the better, if they ended up being there a while. | |

| "What do you mean?" Lucian asked, lightly confused. "Bel said his room was up the stairs, didn't he? Maybe you're just spacing out." It was a little disquieting to know that Alice hadn't been paying much attention on a mission that had been exasperatingly marked as heavily important, but at the same time it could happen to anyone, so... this wasn't something he was going to berate her over. "Wha- HEY! Don't just run off on your own!" Silently cursing Azul and himself, Lucian ran up the stairs after the aforementioned impatient teenager Leeroy Jenkins'd away, leaving Alice and Cassiel to decide of their own accord whether to stay down and explore or join him and their troublesome factor upstairs. Once on the second floor, Lucian quickly went through the same door as Azul to overhear him explaining the situation to another Permanent, which he himself assumed to be Fel, if Bel's directions were correct. Though... despite his height - which was to be expected, anyway - the man seemed rather... young, so Lucian had his share of doubts. "For goodness sake Azul, have some patience!" The man demanded. slowing down so as to catch his breath and not crash into Azul himself. "Pardon the intrusion, sir, but... yes, we're here to see Fel." Azul had already stated their purpose, so there was no real point in going into detail until they knew who the Permanent before them was.

| Mm, okay, well now was time for Cassiel's uncharacteristically lazy attitude to come to an end. To be honest, nothing dangerous was around here. These people had no future or emotions, how could they lash out in violence? Plus, rushing through an alien society was so lame! He wanted to explore, maybe talk to a local, stuff like that. What a shame McBlue face was ruining the whole experience. He almost wished to go and help Milward and what's his face.
Well, for starters, he didn't follow the group upstairs. No, instead he'd walk around the tavern for a bit before quietly making his way to one of the doors. Whichever one was closest to the exit, mind. Really, if it turned out to be dangerous running before the inevitable projectile vomiting would be a good thing. Not to mention the harm that would come, oh dear...
Regardless though, due to his empathy, if there was any signs of strong emotion emanating from behind the door, he'd have stopped before opening it. Quite frankly, he wasn't suicidal...
But like, still, no time like the present!>>Action, opening door closest to entrance of town hall.- Relevant Strengths:
—Strength Name: Empathetic —Description: Cassiel’s innate fortune telling abilities come with the ability to read the emotions of others. This allows him to read and understand the mood of those around him and he is capable of knowing when it’s appropriate to joke and when it’s not.
—Racial Strength Name: Eyes of Virtue —Description: The Virtue are capable of viewing the future of others as if it were a stream of light pouring into a person’s body. Cassiel’s fortune telling focuses on when doom or fortune is about to befall someone. To him, fortune appears as a brighter strain of light pouring into a person while doom cuts off the light for a point of time. Because of this, he is capable of predicting when someone will die or when something really bad is about to happen. But, on the good side he is capable of telling when someone is about to find themselves in good fortune. However, he isn’t able of predicting exactly what the doom or fortune will look like until it comes closer to the current point in time. For example, he can tell you when you’ll die but he won’t know how or why until it comes closer to the time of the death. He can see glimpses of what the doom or fate will entail, though, for example he can advise against talking to strangers to avoid a possible scuffle and the likes. In regards to fortunes, Cassiel is capable of giving a random 'skill' to an ally should the fortune be in their favor. These fortunes are as followed: 1) 'Quick Silver' If used in battle, the party is guaranteed to gain 500 VC as a reward 2) 'Battle Star' If used in battle, the user will gain a guaranteed critical strike the next time they attack with a Dex or Physical skill 3) 'Lucky Find' If used in battle, the user will be guaranteed to find a rare item after the battle 4) 'Social Butterfly' If used in a NPC SL, the NPC will be more forgiving and lenient towards the user 5) 'No Luck' No fortune received.
—Weakness Name: Physically Weak —Description: It’s obvious at a faint glance that Cassiel is not a strong person in the slightest. He hasn’t exercised once in his entire life and prefers sleeping in late and eating junk food than anything actually productive for the betterment of his life. He is literally one of the most fragile people you’ll meet.
—Racial Weakness Name: Heart of Ariel —Description: Virtue as a race are very sensitive to the emotions and weaving of fate around them. In Cassiel’s case, the doom and fortune of others around him affect him on a greater scale than one might expect. While fortune will simply boost his own morale and mood, doom takes a great toll on his mental state and body, almost so much that it can cause damage to his body. In battle, Cassiel will lose his next turn should an ally be brought down to half health or below. Should an ally be KOed in battle, Cassiel will be brought down to 1 HP. Should an ally be killed in battle, Cassiel will be instantly KOed and can’t be revived for one turn after being KOed.

| "Big Tree? OH! Oh yes. Yes of course you are." The man quietly took hos hand from the knob and locked the door before turning his full attention to the group before him. A shakey smile spread over his face as he saw the interactions between Azule and Lucian. He took a few rigid steps towards the group and bowed slightly, his voice stern, but still holding a slight weaver. "Hello, I am Fel. I believe I am the one you're looking to speak with. May I ask why? It's not often we get visitors to Potts Field and I... I believe we have much to-to discuss... Please follow me to my office."Fel Quickly turned and marched off to his office, the door on the far side of the room, and unlocked the door. He held the door for the group to enter while he wore a tense smile. --- As Cass explored the ground floor, the most he would get off the patrons would be the occasional flair of enjoyment from the food or slight worry about the coming crop of the number of carrots they owe to Charla. The door he would find himself at was the one on the left side from the entrance, across from the bar. From the door, Cass would feel nothing. Nothing living was on the other side of the door. The door was, however, locked. | |

| The first thing Lucian noticed about the man was that he was actually smiling, unlike every other resident of Potts Field they’d met so far. The second was that although he wore a smile on the exterior, he seemed rather agitated… either way, Lucian wasn’t as interested in the fact that these were conflicting emotions as much as he was interested in the fact that they were emotions in the first place. Was he just displaying common courtesy or was he somehow exempt from the general apathy that the population of Permanence had displayed so far? “It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Mr. Fel. I’m Lucian Clarke and this is my partner Azul; we’re acting as diplomatic envoys for the government of the… well “big tree” as Azul put it.” He could have just called it Junction, but it was better to be consistent for now.
With a tense smile of his own, though a much subtler one, Lucian followed the towering man through the hallway, thanking Fel as he held the door open for him. As he stepped into the room, Lucian was subconsciously wary, but he took no action based upon this hunch: there was really no reason to distrust Fel in the end. Not yet, anyway.

| Patience had already been thrown out the window. At this point, Azul just wanted progress. They'd wasted enough time just talking about finding someone to talk to. He didn't bother responding to Lucian, and instead just shrugged, lazily. Fel was...honestly acting rather suspicious, but some people were just nervous. He couldn't see why he wouldn't be, actually. Some random people showing up, talking about being from a tree-Azul might be caught slightly off guard too. Might. At any rate, he followed Fel into his office, silently. Let Lucian handle the diplomacy.
In the office, Azul was quick to start making mental notes of whatever he could see.

| Well... That was a complete dud. Oh well, maybe the next door held untold fortunes!? Wait, would he really be into the idea of stealing? Hmm... Who knew? Depended on the item... Anyways, it seemed like no one really cared that he was snooping around soooo lucky number two!!

| "Yes Yes do come in we have to discuss your... Tree Diplomacy..." Fel quickly ushered Azul, Lucian, and Alice into his office. The very first notable aspect of which... was the distinct smell of burning tires or and coal. As if this room had recently been used to dispose of several dozen truck tiers filled with coal using a flamethrower... The smell of Surfer simply permeated the room. Though, perhaps more interesting then the smell of the room, was the loud click from behind the group as Fel locked the door tightly. "Now then... tell me, what the absolute hell does Tagiser think he's doing!?" With a lazy hand Fel flipped a switch on the wall next to the door causing what sounded like a large air compressor to switch on. Not but a second passed before a thick brown fog begin to fill the room from vents on the ceiling. The smell of sulfur began to grow stronger. "Giant tree... Ether you lot have been outside your suits for FAR to long or Tagiser thinks I've become a damn simpleton as well... Jokes on him! I've taken precautions." Fel's eyes began to calm, his tense nature gone as he breathed deeply from the gas. To the group, however, the thick fog burned, like berthing fire... "Hopefully you three haven't been outside for to long, what the hell are you doing outside a suit? And what the hell is that giant tower? Or did Tagiser really send you here to spout lies in the hopes that we would all be drained of our wills... Because if that's the case, I'll have you know I'm still just as capable as I was ten years ago." Though their eyes burned from the gas, the group could clearly see a spark of blue flame circle Fel's feet as he stood defiant at the door. --- As Cassiel walked through the next door, that happened to be next to the bar, he would have expected at least some reaction to a stranger walking into the kitchen... But other then a bit of confusion rolling off the Chickens... Nothing. The head chef didn't even bother to look up... However, all at once he would feel a strong surge of rage and... fear?... Yes Fear, coming from directly above him. It was around this time that he heard what sounded like a loud air compressor kick on, another thing that should have elicited a response from those around him just simply failed to. Then the emotions began to skyrocket... to almost nauseating levels. | |

| “Well, it’s not actually a tree, that’s merely what everyone outside was calling it.” Lucian commented, making his way inside of the office. For a village that looked rural in style and time to a tee, the inside of its leader’s office had quite a few recent items. Then again, the presence of a large industrial city should have already reminded him that the rurality here was not due to lack of advance, and even if it were, in this universe all these items might have very well been invented millennia ago. Either way, what the hell was up with this smell? Though he’d initially chosen to trust in Fel’s intentions, it was becoming increasingly hard to do so with each passing second
At the sound of the door’s lock clicking behind them, Lucian sighed audibly in a mixture of tedium and disappointment. “Be wise, Fel… don’t do anything that all present will regret.” He suggested in a charismatic yet stern tone as he turned around to face Fel and put a hand behind his back, ready to bring out his Summoning Flag at a moment’s notice. A risk such as this was part of the equation, of course, but it was still unfortunate that it had to come through.
Before any of them could really react, however, a thick brown smog filled the room and sent the three of them into a state of burning sensory pain. Lucian, being far older than either Alice or Azul, was handed the short stick of their collective pain; it was so great for him, in fact, that he was brought to one knee. "Fel, you're making a mistake..." Lucian managed to spurt out in between coughing fits as his eyes watered from the intense irritation and his throat burned. His eyes, still tearing, scanned around Fel's side of the room for the switch he used to turn on the deadly gas's ventilation, barely spotting it next to the door after ten or so seconds. The blue fire at Fel's feet was also clearly cause for concern, but the extended preservation of their senses was of a more pressing urgency. If Fel heeded Lucian's warning, he would stand up to catch his breath and inspect the spark as he did so. If he didn't and refused to turn off the gas, Lucian would quickly bring out his Summoning Flag and wave it frantically beside him, summoning Liber and sending him to flip the switch at the door, even pushing Fel out of the way if he really needed to.

| "S-Shoot... Well... G-Guess that means I have to be proactive..." The sudden burst of emotions in such a bland place caused the boy to fall against the door, crumbling to the ground in agony. He hated when people couldn't just keep their emotions to themselves. At least the negative ones! Oh, it was such a nuisance... Well, all he knew was that someone was being really emotive, passionate about their fear. Really, he couldn't tell who it was without being closer to them. He barely knew Lucy, his daughter, and that blue dude so... It was really a mystery to him. But, hey, he had allies here soooo...
"R-Raziel! Commence summoning ritual!" he'd say as he pressed the summoning button on the virtual pet app. A sound like shattering glass would come from the phone before he was surrounded by a pale grey mist. Raziel would soon materialize out of it, accompanied by his usual stack of pillows as he bent over his tablet. He'd look up at his summoner with an almost lazy look in his eyes before he waved his hand, producing a book and quill pen for Cassiel to use. Once they were in his hands, the book would become a tablet with the pen acting as a stylus now.
"So, uh... How does this work by the way? Last time I was, uh, slightly too delirious to really know what we, uh... Do?" Cassiel would ask Raziel with an almost apologetic look on his face. Raziel would soon straighten himself up, another wave of his hand creating screens around the two of them. He payed no mind to the people around them, they clearly didn't care about much of anything.
"What you see now is the RIGS, or the Raziel Information Gathering System. With this you can tap into my power and scan enemies, make mental phone calls with your allies, and much more that you have yet to unlock the power to use. I utilize drones to do all the work for me, so I'm more of a co-pilot while you're the captain of this ship. Go ahead, do what you see fit." he'd say with a small nod of his head before returning to tapping away at his tablet. Cassiel would hum gently with the new information, looking at the screens and down at his own tablet. Well, a virtual phone call would certainly help gather information."U-Um? Hello? Anyone there? This is Cassiel contacting you from, uh, downstairs? What's going on? I felt some crazy amount of fear all of a sudden, do you need my help? Oh! Also, this is all mental, so just think if you can't speak. Also, no perverted thoughts!" Cassiel would speak into the microphone that now floated in front of him. There were even nifty headphones as well, so cool! For his allies though, they'd find themselves suddenly wearing a blue tinted visor, a screen with Cassiel on it at the top right corner. It probably would have startled Fel, but it wasn't like Cassiel knew about any of the specifics. But, like, now he could? Just a simple thought!- Cassiel Pendragon:

| Azul stood with his arm crossed in the room, not at all pleased with how the mission had been going so far. It had been boring, and no progress had been made in the slightest. Though, it seemed like that would be finally changing. Not in a good way, however. That'd be too lucky. Really, back on Gridd traps were common. Especially in the Criminal Underworld where Azul made his home. While he hadn't felt any hostility from Fel at first, that quickly changed as he flipped the switch by the door. The brown fog filling the room took Azul's focus away from the now locked door. He coughed harshly, though managed to stay standing, even as his eyes burned. Yeah, this was WHY they had been sent. In case people decided to be idiots. Which Fel clearly was in this situation. "I don't know who the hell a Tagiser is, but if you don't turn that thing off I'm going to shatter you." The time for Diplomacy was over. Operating with criminals, you couldn't just give them control when they betrayed you. It seemed like this mission would be the same. Fighting the urge to vomit, and ignoring the pain from his next coughing fit, Azul still stood. He was slightly distracted though, by the call he received. Apparently that was one of Cas' abilities. It seemed potentially useful. "Fel's releasing some kind of Gas...back-up may be appreciated..." As it stood, he had two options. Azul raised his robotic arm, the lines on his glove starting to glow, as blue strings extended from his fingertips, attaching themselves to the switch. He would attempt to hack it and turn off the gas, though if that failed, he'd switch to plan B. If he failed, he'd summon his Persona, and have the large blue beetle freeze the floor with Ma-Bufu. Then it'd be up to someone else to smash through, if they could. It was the most he could do, if his hacking ability failed. - Azul:

This can range from security cameras, to alarm systems, to phones...you get the idea. In addition, it can project two holographic displays. A large one that will appear infront of him, and another set infront of each finger on the 'hacking' hand. While he can just touch the large one to interact with it, he needs to use the ones that appear infront of his fingers to hack things. If even one finger is missing, then he can't hack anything, but can still operate the large display.

| As things took a noticeable turn for the worse, Alice would swiftly grab ahold of her scarf and raise it to protectively cover her mouth as she stumbled back, coughing wildly and slamming back against a nearby wall as the gas assailed her and her senses. Panic surged through her mind and her eyes frantically darted around the room attempting to process her surroundings but to no avail thanks to the erratic state of mind that the sudden burst of fear put her in. While the others responded more directly to what Fel said and Cassiel's voice called out to them via telepathic link, she was simply too consumed by the danger of the situation to pay it any heed behind a cursory acknowledgment that she could hear them, her mind honing in only on the tangible aspects of the situation around them while she did her best to avoid hyperventilating and rubbed her irritated eyes with her sleeves. Of course, this didn't necessarily mean she'd do nothing in response; quite the contrary, this focus on the environment would lead her to quickly notice Azul's freezing of the floor should he proceed with it, in which case she'd instantly move to shatter it in a mad attempt to create an escape. Her soulbound weapon would flash into her hand in this case, her feet stumbling forward as she flailed the weapon at the ground clumsily, and Nona would dive downward from above to strike at the frozen floor with a targeted use of Hack & Slash.
Should the gas stop flooding into the room by any means though or if something interfered with Azul's attempt to freeze the floor, Alice's addled mind would fail to formulate any sudden plan of action and she'd merely continue searching for a solution she wouldn't find, as much at the mercy of Fel and the substance as her compatriots.
