Queen Bee [Mission Topic]

His allies would draw near, but thanks to distance and them staying hidden the young man would not notice them there as he remained in the clutches of Queen Bee.

“Fair point,” Haru would respond back to the woman. He was pretty sure that the woman could indeed carry out what she said, but at the same time he wondered who would catch who first. Would the bee catch the stray sheep? Would the wolves? Or perhaps even him? It was a curious thing, but at least the information gained was useful, so perhaps if Lady Fate was kind he could live to do some digging himself, but so many things were left in the dark so it was hard to say.

Regardless of the unknown, it would seem for now the woman would lower her gun and release him. Perhaps his words had changed her mind or maybe what she had done was a scare tactic all along. It was hard to say and to be honest. Though the Cadet didn’t over think it as he instead took to straightening his clothes upon being freed. An old habit and a rather odd one considering he was in the danger zone here, but he did it anyway as he kept an eye on the other and her persona as she spoke.

“Maybe so.” Maybe he was on the wrong side of the fence or maybe he wasn’t. Despite his behavior he was still unsure of the true answer to that, but in the end maybe he wasn’t suppose to know just yet. Regardless of his thoughts, he would look up at the other meeting her gaze as she continued to speak. She was speaking out against the Queen, but the Cadet did nothing to try and stop her or defend what the Queen did. Why should he when the more he learned the more things became unraveled? He wasn’t one to follow things blindly and so found himself giving the other a light nod of understanding as he heard and considered the words she said, doing his best to store the information for later analyzing. When she was done with her talking and gave him the proposition, the Cadet would watch her quietly for a moment and then smirking he would lock his eyes on the woman’s.

“What an interesting choice. Well then...” He would give his answer to Queen Bee and let what happened from there, happen.

Haru had, had his scrapes and bumps in life and even had experienced a broken bone or two. He knew pain and typically could handle it more or less well, but what happened here? This was beyond anything he had ever experienced.

These strange weapons that did damage, but left no physical wounds….He would never quite understand them, but in the moment the woman fired the shot from her hip, he honestly did not care about that little matter...or anything else for that matter. All he knew was that it felt like his whole left leg had been blown to bits as pain radiated from his knee and throughout the limb. In an instant, the young man went from standing to collapsing on the branch as the most excruciating pain he had ever known filled him and kept him down. He couldn’t help, but to cry out, to shake, to sweat, to cry. There was no stopping it as he remained down on the branch, trying not to black out as he struggled with pain. Through it all he could tell Queen Bee got away and maybe some part of him registered the touch and smirk she gave before fleeing. It was hard to tell for as soon as she was gone, the young man would be left to contend with his pain and the arrival of his allies too.

It was a disorienting affair and it took a great deal of concentration to understand what was happening. He knew Ghost was doing something, but didn’t concentrate on her for the moment as he did his best to focus on Vivian who was closer at the moment and asking him a question.

“...N-no...it….hurts...like hell…” he would manage to get the words out in a shaky breathe that was more of a whisper than anything, but honestly he couldn’t do more than that with all the pain running through him. He closed his eyes, his body trembling as he fought down another wave of pain. Shit...how long would this last? He reopened his eyes and look over at Ghost as she spoke.

Unlike Vivi, she was more concerned about other things rather than his well being. To her question, he would look downward and shake his head.

“Secret....?” his lips would curl into a bitter smile as he looked back up at her. “Negotiations failed….and I am paying the price for it. Nothing more...or less,” he would tell her before becoming quiet again as Vivi passed her thanks and Ghost made comments on the situation and drinks. He was managed get a small weak smile at the drink part as he shook his head lightly. “A drink….maybe next time….” he whisper back. Yeah….he was going to need more than that to get over this pain, but outside of that the male didn’t say much more as they began to talk about leaving. Yeah about that….

“Down...right. You sure you...are going be okay carrying me….?” he would ask looking first at Vivian and then at Ghost (if she was still there). He couldn’t walk on his own, so if either did help him, his full weight would be on them….it was concerning, but in the end, he would submit to any form of help he could get.

…..They had survived….but he had to wonder with Queen Bee gone….what sort of price would be paid for it. No Name would be far from pleased…..

The two ladies with him would get them out of the trees and down onto the ground. The Cadet, while still in a huge amount of pain, managed to get a soft thank you in turn for their assistance. From here, Haru had hoped all he would have to deal with was bearing through the pain until they were out of the forest. He didn’t expect them to carry him home. No, if anything maybe to a place where they could all rest. He had hoped for the night to end more or less peacefully despite the matter that hung over them all like a unneeded ratty blanket. He had hoped for a moment of peace....just a little one....but it seemed that Fate liked things other ways.

“You ladies…. didn’t do anything wrong in this mission. It was…. I who failed and should be the one being stomped…. Not you. I won’t…. let you pay for my slip ups.” Even if they were a team, he had been leader and in turn was the one most responsible for this hiccup. He wasn’t sure what it all meant in the end or what would happen in the future, but he did know that No Name’s wrath would be no joke. He had to report in….they all did. And when they did, he was pretty sure it would be more than his leg that he would have to worry about.

Even with that lingering there in the back of his mind, the young man tried to push it away and just focus on what to do now that it was all over. However, it would appear that shortly after they were down on the ground, something unfortunate happen. He was put down and with no support to keep him standing, his body automatically crumpled into a sitting position, the pain was great in his recovering leg, but the young man tried not to cry out as he just took a moment to recover from the wave of pain before looking up at Ghost who was in his space…..and threatening to do him harm if he didn’t cough up what he knew?

Mismatched eyes would watch the other, the expression at first a bit surprised before settling into a grim one as he shook his head.

“I am not quite sure….what exactly you are on about Mrs. Ghost, but if you think I am hiding some important information….I really am not,” he would begin before pausing to take a few breaths to steady himself before looking up at her, his eyes hard and cold. “Yes, she spoke….but all I was able to get out of her were mad rantings….and the fact we may have someone stirring the pot within our own ranks...outside of that?” he would shrug moodily. “I don’t know…. what else there is to say.” He would fall quiet after that watching the woman with a hard expression. He wasn’t afraid of her and if he absolutely had too, he would gather what strength he could to fight here and live. He didn’t like threats and this new thing was doing nothing to keep the Cadet’s trust in the woman. Regardless of the friction, it seemed the young man gave her a bit of what he learned and maybe with further poking they could discover more by placing their heads together...though doing that right did not seem like a pleasant idea in the Cadet’s mind simply because one was threatening him and he was also hurting in a fashion that would only deplete his energy rather quickly. Even so...he wasn’t lying with what he said. The question was would Ghost believe him?
