| ...she didn't know what was happening with Frogerio, the sudden change of pace, the change in his tone, the alluring confidence in his voice albeit in the form of a nonsensical flirtatious banter...but she liked it. It made her bury her face into his chest even more, like a defensive attempt to make him not notice the fact that, yes, what he said was starting to affect her normally upbeat attitude. Was it the feeling of blood running through her brain? She wasn't sure, although one thing she could say for certain: her face was feeling quite hot right now.
“Hm...well...” Another bout of silence washed over them, as the girl pondered. Brittany didn't want to ruin the mood, she truly didn't, but...being the same height or nearly as Frogerio, naturally she had to bend a bit for her face to reach his chest, which caused a bit of physical discomfort in the position she currently found herself in. “...You know, they'll come for us if we stay here like this...”, her voice sounded muffled still, yet albeit the low tone, it was perfectly audible given the short distance between them. Being practical here, they were still reasonable targets for demons (or cadets!) if they stayed for long out in the open like this.

| Frog's legs were stuck in the ground. He couldn't move...e-even if he wanted... How did they get in this position? He could feel Brit's nose poking his chest, and he was...he was enjoying the heck out of it. As well as the warmth it presented upon his skin. W-was she blushing? Oh boy...that makes two of them, then.
The amphibian prince needed someone to push him out of this date-I mean, date-no, wait, I really mean DAZE. Yes, to push him out of this date.
...goddamnit. Okay, to push him out of this date. Not the fruit 'date', but out of whatever this even was. Who would have known the person who would push him out of it would be Brit herself. Ah, how cruel fate can be.
"U-uhm, oh, all right. OMG, sorry!" He let go of her as quickly as he'd grabbed hold of her in the first place. Immediately regretting the spontaneous decision, he glanced away as his cheeks under the mask turned rosy. "But do put on your mask, 'kay..?"

| Once Frogerio released her from the embrace, it took Brittany a while to straight herself and reattach the gala bala mask from her terrorist outfit back to the small face of hers. Of course she did this with her back turned to her friend and, oddly enough, she was considerably silent during the whole moments. Now she was feeling hella stupid and awkward, thanks for her urge to say something when words were hardly relevant backfiring - HORRIBLY - and making Frogerio let go of her.
“Okay...how it is now?” She turned back to him, now with her face covered by the dark mask, wearing as usual the smile laced with honey. An attentive look for someone who knew Brittany to a close extent, would identify this smile was somewhat constrained. “PG-B is ready to escort you safely back home!” It was funny... She didn't oppose to close physical contact with most people, notably Frogerio, but the moment things got "serious" between them...she panicked. The last time she experienced this sensation was...long ago. She still wasn't the woman she became... Perhaps some things aren't meant to change, no matter how much you try to.

| Oh, great. Brit seemed to be back to her perky self. Frog could barely hide his relief at this. He'd gotten worried he might've made her too uncomfortable or something...but thankfully that wasn't the case. He nodded at her when she turned over to let him see her. "Great!" He held a thumb up to her. "Glad nothing ended up happening...uhm, with the mask, I mean. I mean, I don't mean...I mean...I'm glad."
He turned to glance away for a moment, hand behind his head, scratching it. It was time to go back home, though. At this rate, neither of the two were gonna get any rest, and Frog was kind of yearning for the bed. "R-right then. Shall we be off, PG-B?" He yawned and reached his hand out to Brit.
Unsurely. | |

| She glanced back at him...and at his hand. Silent. Motionless for some brief seconds that seemed like too long for her to notice that something in this gesture caused her heart to pound a bit faster than its usual rhythm. Still...the same "something" in this gesture caused her to not refuse it, by any means. Instead, her hand touched his, the touch turning into a holding... Yes, they were holding hands right now, in the middle of a lonely street illuminated by fading dim orange lights of the nearby poles.
“Hm...Fro--I mean, Prince...” She wanted to say "yes" in response. However, the acceptance of the gesture already meant it in a more significant way than words could convey. Instead, there was something else in her mind that moment, something that had been bugging her for a while and, now alone, she could find the proper occasion to ask before they decided to effectively part their ways to Frog's home. “How did you know it was me? I mean...back at school. When we met again... At the gym's corridor, we talked and all... So, hum, how did you know?” Prior to the meeting at the gym, they had never exchanged words, even though they shared the same environment (the Academy), except of course the first encounter, during the sweet early years of her adolescence. Brittany knew she had changed, she knew how much. What was left for her to know was: did Frog notice it as well, or did she still look the same to his eyes?

| "H-huh? You mean...how did I recognize you..?" For a moment, the question stunned Frog even more than the fact their hands were joined. Really now...how did he know it was her..? Brit was nowhere near similiar to how she was when the two first met 5 years ago...it would've made more sense for her to be the one recognizing him, not the other way around. And yet...when he fell down and she offered him her hand...he felt the same as that fateful day. That was when he knew...how he knew.
As thoughts ran through Frog's mind, his cheeks blushed even more. Or was it from the holding hands? He didn't know how to say it to Brit...was it weird? Weird that he would be so pathetic as to cling onto a memory of a friend he barely even knew 5 years ago? ...whatever he should do now...
"U-uhm... I mean...it's like..." Frog sighed. "Y'know. It was the same as when I fell at the park 5 years ago. That's how I was sure it was you..."

| ... And unbeknownst to Brittany, her lips slowly twisted upwards in a smile. Not her usual wide grin of joy, just a serene, contemplative smile as she glanced back at him. She didn't need to see his face under the mask, but she had a feeling that his words were as sincere as possible. And thus, the smile. Simple like that.
“Yeah...we shall be off now...”. If there was anything remotely enjoyable and sweet about her childhood, it was the last day prior to the Eternal Divide, when she met...him. Clinging onto memories from a long distant past... could be weird. And yet, the girl didn't mind, being weirdly happy she wasn't the only one... ( Exit? )

| Frog was rattled as it was. Brit's smile only served to rattle him even further. To the core, almost. He could feel his heart starting to shake violently, trying to break free. Did she share the sentiment? How could he know. He knew nothing. Or well, barely something. Brit was still a mystery. And the bond between them same. Perhaps for now, though, it would be unwise to burden oneself with such questions. Perhaps he should just...go with it? Not think about it. Just...go with it.
Yes. That sounded nice.
Frog nodded at Brit and took off with her, newfound solace in his step...
