The Music of Takeru Kagemaru (For Masako):

For a moment, she hesitated. It was kind of ironic to be asked that after the kind of memories that flooded into her mind before.

"Well, I won't bore you with the details," she replied, "But let's just say I saw first hand the kind of suffering that goes on in this world, and I wanted to be able to help ease that pain or even stop it if possible. I will not rest until I've at least helped to make Endymion a safer place."

"I suppose." He said. That sounded like an acceptable answer... for now.
The way she acted, though... it reminded him of her.
"By the way, I know this might be a bit random, but did you use to dye or bleach your hair when you were younger?" He asked her.

That caught her off guard. Did she do anything like that?

Flashback:

"Daddy! Look! Now I'm blonde like you!"

"Masako!!! When and how did you get your hands on something like that?!?!"

"You don't like it?"

End Flashback.

"N-no, not once in my life," said a Masako in denial. She still seems to regret some of the decisions she made as a child.

"Really? Your tone of voice... something seems off." He remarked. Was that a stutter he heard?
"Sorry, I won't pry too much, don't worry." He said, realizing that the prior remark might not have been the best idea.
"It's just that you remind me of someone... albeit, they had blond hair. You don't." He explained.

I remind him of someone? she thought inwardly.

"I see," she replied, wondering if she should pry or not. "Someone close to you perhaps?"

If I somehow remind him of someone, then she must have been a driven and professional person. It'd be nice to meet her if possible.

"Yeah. Someone close, yeah. Don't really remember much of them, though. .." Takeru said.
"Assuming they even exsisted in the first place the way you remember them." Twelve remarked mentally. Takeru dismissed the remark as one of Twelve's usual quips.

"Oh, I see. Someone from long ago then," she then surmised. "I wonder how long ago? Well, its probably not my place to pry, now is it? I do hope things are going well for her, and for you as well. Do you... forgive me, but do you at least recall a name?"

Assuming he's lived here most or all of his life, I may be able to cross reference the name for him. If he's looking for her, then maybe I can offer a little aid. At least, I hope I'll be allowed make use of their resources for this.

"Nah, it's okay." He replied to her when she thought she was prying.
"No. Can't even remember that much." He responded.

"I see, that's a shame," she replied simply. Perhaps I should let this go for the time being. I'll make a note of it and, if by chance he shares more later, I may be able to use that for him.

"I suppose there's not much to do about that at the moment," she stated calmly, "If you remember, then you'll remember. For now, should we get to those books? I believe you've expressed an interest in studying?"

"I guess, yeah." He said. Something about It bothered him though, but before he could ponder it any more, she mentioned the studying.
"Huh? Oh yeah! I forgot about that..." he said.
"So, uh... what do you want to do first? English? Science? Math? History? I'm pretty good at all of those..." he said.

"Let's start with History," she suggested, pulling the history book out of her bag, "The better we know our past, the better we can do for our future."

She opened the book to the table of contents.

"Just point to which one you'd like to understand better, and we'll work from there."

"Alright. How about the Medieval times?" He asked her.

"Medieval times then," she replied.

And thus they studied about medieval times, starting from the beginning.

The fall of Western Roman Empire is considered as the beginning of the Medieval period. The last Roman emperor was Julius Nepos who was nominated by Eastern Emperor Zeno. Nepo’s rebellion magister militum Orestes dethroned Julius Nepos and declared his own son Romulus Augustus as the new Emperor of the Western Roman Empire. However, Odoacer invaded Italy and defeated Orestes and deposed Romulus Augustus on September 4, 476. He then invited Zeno to be the emperor of both Eastern and Western Empire. Zeno accepted the invitation while Julius Nepo was killed by his own soldiers in 480.

It seemed Masako may have lost track of time during their studies.

"Uh... okay." Takeru said. She was thinking about the Greeks and The Romans when he was thinking more Medieval Knights. But she was so into it, he couldn't bring himself to interrupt her.
It was almost adorable, somehow, how she kept going like that.
To him, anyways.

It may not have been what was expected, but if they were going to study the Medieval period, doesn't it make sense to start from the beginning?

"Is that enough, or would you like to continue?" she asked. As much as she is willing to help with his studies, she'll understand if he has other things scheduled.
