Ah, the Heartfelt Bakery! A small bakery found within Little Tokyo with an oriental exterior and a modern and normal bakery interior. Their were shelves and tables filled with sweets and breads, all freshly made with quality ingredients. The place had become notoriously famous around Little Tokyo for its fresh and delicious sweets and because of the happy family that lived within it.

Today was a somewhat busy day, though, it seemed the store had hit a quiet part of the day. A woman would sigh from behind the counter, stretching her arms gently. She'd smile at the boy sitting behind the register, glad he had done his job with excellency. He was a smart boy, and a good one too.

"Good job today, Zavie. Keep up the good work while I go and help daddy out, alright?"

His mother would say wit a cheerful voice. The boy would look up at his mother and smile, nodding his head. He was excited for the rest of the day! A-And he was just glad his parents weren't mad at him for what happened last night. It was a weird feeling having something literally living inside of you. He gently brushed the bead chain that was tied into his hair. Every time he had tried to take it off, it wouldn't' budge. It was weird.

"Must you touch me while I am in this form so often? I must stay attached to you at all times or we will both perish. I may be the goddess of death and resurrection, but I can not resurrect myself if I am already dead, now can I?" the voice of the boy's shadow companion said within his mind. It was also weird being able to talk to something with his mind. Everything he thought the shadow could hear and every time he got excited or really happy, she'd get really annoyed and worried. It was kind of weird.

"S-Sorry... It is just weird to have something in my hair... It feels a little weird is all." the boy would apologize to the shadow via his mind. They had done this a lot the night before, simply talking to each other about the battle, the boy's parents, Grins and Callie, the demons, the mysterious man who gave them the guns. He was lucky to be able to hide his in the alley way with his Kitty Cat Mercenaries. If not, it would've been quite hard to hide it in his room... Maybe.

None the less, the bakery was a welcoming site to newcomers. Once one walked through its nice smelling doors, a bell would ring, symbolizing the arrival of a person. Hopefully someone came, it'd be kind of boring if no one did.

Takeru walked into the bakery, there to pick up an order of bread. He went up to the counter, placed an order, and sat down to wait... although, the little boy in there piqued his curiosity due to how strangely he was dressed. Upon closer inspection, he recognized it as a kitty cat coat.
"Hey there, little guy. What's your name? I'm Takeru Kagemaru." He said, kneeling down to talk to the little boy. He asked in a kind, gently curious tone, so that the kid wouldn't run off on him (if they were shy, that is).

The boy was deep in thought as he absent mindedly took the bread order to his parents. He came back and sat at the register once more. He was still talking to his shadow weapon, wondering about what it was like for Proxy to be asleep for so long before the young man from earlier came over to the counter. Oh, he seemed nice and willing to talk. That was really neat of him!

"I advise caution. He may be one of the people your parents refer too or even a demon in disguise. Summon my powers to defend yourself and run to get your gun if needed. I will monitor all escape options if it comes to it." his shadow would say seriously, her voice stern and cold. She was really worried about him, it was sweet! Though, she reminded him of himself when talking to Callie. He was always worried about her...

"Takeru Kagemaru? Oh! That sounds really Japanese! Are you from Japan? Um, my name is Zavie Bryce, it is a super duper pleasure to meet you! Your bread will be out soon, I think... It takes a while, you know. It may be quicker to go do something to pass the time, just so you know." the boy would say with a happy smile. Hopefully that was a nice enough response, equal parts professional and casual! His shadow was always impressed at the people skills the boy had... It would be useful in the future if it ever came to it.

"Japanese-American actually. I was born here with Japanese parents, y'see." He said. "Since it looks like it'll take a while, can I ask you what you seemed so lost in thought about?" He asked the boy, remembering how the boy seemed lost in thought about something.

His question was quite innocent enough, but the simple invasion into the boy's private thoughts made Proxy even more alert than before. If she could analyze the young man in person, she would. Did he have a gun under his shirt, a knife in his shoes? Was he a danger, did he have an earpiece the two couldn't see hiding in his ear? The plethora of questions made the boy a tad bit dizzy, but he would smile through it.

"Oh! Japanese-American! I am European-American, you know! My great-great-grand parents immigrated here on both sides around the same time! Super cool, right?" the boy would ask and say happily. He was super interested in someone that came from somewhere not America! It was super cool to know someone was like him.

"Oh, um... I was thinking about a test! I am home schooled so after work today, I totally have a test I have to take! I am just trying to remember everything I studied is all." the boy would say with a nod of his head. A clean and simple lie that was beyond believable with the boy's happy and polite tone. Proxy silently approved, the boy become more cunning the longer she spent with him.

Takeru was no fool. Having lied before, he knew what was going on. But something about the boy's words smelled of a secret... a secret that Takeru had a feeling that should best be kept. Takeru decided instead to play along with the lie, so as not to seem suspicious.
Besides, he hadn't gotten the bread yet.
"Ah, yeah it is kinda cool. So... A test, huh? What subject? Maybe I can help you." Takeru said, making his tone sound genuinely helpful the best he could.

Oh, he changed the subject quickly. He usually could talk about multiple things before talking about the other things! That was strange... Oh, but it totally didn't matter, in all honesty! If he was willing to help him with a pretend test, he could learn super cool things he hadn't known about before! How awesome was that?

"Oh! It's an English test! So, it has a loooooot to do with with big words I don't know about! Like what stratosphere means or what an appendix is! It's really weird, you know!" the boy would say energetically! He had always wanted to know what these words meant, but he had nooo idea how you actually got around to learning what these words meant! So, might as well ask a stranger!

"Well, let's see here. Hmm..." Takeru said, beginning to actually have to think a bit.
"Well... the appendix is either an organ in your body, or the thing at the end of some books that acts like a table of contents, but isn't." Takeru began.
"The stratosphere is either the very highest peak of something, or a layer of earth's atmosphere." He said.
"Anything else you wanna know?" Takeru asked.

Oh wow! He was so super duper smart! Er, he also answered those questions faster than he thought... Oh, could this become a game? Kee kee kee~! He loved games! Plus, it was secretly two against one! A tag team of vast knowledge! They totally couldn't loose!

"Oh... You are quite the cunning little boy. Let us engage in battle then! Show him the might of the goddess of death and resurrection!" the shadow would say in a haughty voice. She was eager to showcase how smart she actually was! She'd show this puny human what it meant to be insignificant.

"Okay okay! Let us play a game then, Mr. Smarty smarts! I will ask you to define a word, but, if you can not define it, you loose! My job is to try and give you a word you can not define! Ready, steady, set, and gooooo!" the boy would say eagerly, smiling happily and excitedly! He lost the last game he played, but now it was time to play a new game! He couldn't loose now!

"Okay okay! Here is a super hard one even I do not know! What is a euro?" the boy would as quizzically, eager to see if he totally duped him the first time! Proxy was impressed, not many people knew about currency from other countries, the boy's knowledge on European culture could be helpful!

"I'll give you the short version, since i don't want to bore you: It's a type of European currency, used in places like France, for example." Takeru said quickly. He remembered doing a report on currencies, a while back, where he had to present his findings on the euro.

Oh no! He totally lost the first round! Hmph... Well, it was a fairly easy question. Maybe he'd need to get more creative! That could be easy, he just had to think about something... Or, they had to think of something. Proxy was now invested in this duel of wits and she wasn't willing to loose to a mere mortal.

"Ah hah! I know what to ask you, Mr. Smarts! What is Proxy?" the boy would say with a grin. There would be absolutely no way he'd answer this correctly! Proxy had named herself after these deadly beings from the physical world, her former self finding them most interesting. This would totally work!

"A proxy? Well... that's.... hmmm...." Takeru said. English is his best subject, but proxy? That was a word he hadn't heard in a while.
"Well... it's either a type of servant designed to serve somebody... with a notable example being that it's the term for the servants of Slenderman. Is that what you're looking for, kid?" He said.

Unbelievable! H-How? He was even well versed in the myths and legends of darkness!? This was unbelievable... However, the shadow wasn't willing to loose to someone as well versed as this young man. With a demonic grin reflecting within the bead chain, she'd hiss a new question to Zavie to ask.

"Oh... Lucky! Um... Oh oh! This will be even tougher, just you watch, Mr. Smarts! What does a Shadow look like?" the boy would ask curiously, a smile crossing his face. That was super hard! He didn't even know the answer if Proxy wasn't apart of him. He'd probably totally say a shadow was the light thingies that did things when you were in front of a light! There was no way in Endymion he knew what a real Shadow was! Bingo~!

"Huh... pretty good question. That's kinda broad, depending on what definition you're looking for. But overall, the appearence... varies." He said. "Psychologically, it's a term in Jungian psychology that refers to one's true self..." he began.
"Scientifically, it's what light creates when it hits a solid object..." he said.
"... but like I said, it varies." He said. At that moment, he noticed a certain smell in the air...
"Hey... is that my bread I smell? Is it done baking already?" He asked the boy.

H-How...? W-Wait, hoooow!? Ah! He got it right!? All three questions, he hit directly on the head with his answer hammer! Ooooh, this was humiliating! He totally lost a game in his favor! Wow, jeez, he was too smart for his own good! How was he that smart? Boo... He was totally cheating or something...

"T-To think... I was defeated by a mere mortal... How is this possible!? He is obviously a demon in disguise! If only I was free of these restraints I would gut him like a rat!" the boy would only frown, crossing his arms. Jeez, he was a smart person... How come he kept loosing these games? Boo... He just needed to get smarter! Totally and absolutely smarter!

"Aww... You won... Bummer... Well, one day I will be smarter than you! Just wait and see!" the boy would say energetically, a smile and upbeat attitude quickly replacing his down one before. He wasn't sad he lost, he was now motivated to beat him next time! Just like that girl! He'd totally win next time for sure!

"Hmmm? Oh, probably! Let me go check real quick!" the boy would say with a nod of his head before jumping off his chair and heading into the back. A few moments later he'd come back with a loaf of bread in a clean little box. He'd place it on the counter and nod his head.

"You have already paid, so you are good to go! Thank you so much for playing with me, Mr. Smarts!" the boy would say with a smile. It was up to the young man if he wanted to leave or not, but Zavie didn't care. He just wanted to be smarter now!
