| Noah would most likely end up going back home fairly soon, but he had decided to take a detour through this place on the way. Why was that so was an unknown variable, for he usually prefered some company to amuse himself with, while this place had next to none, doubly so during night time. Yet, he found himself here after walking through the neighboring district a while ago. Ah well, some peace of mind before the serious matters start in the morning? Perhaps it was actually a good thing to take a calming stroll. Even though he probably didn't need one in the first place. Did that matter? Nah, not really. Noah appeared to be in an easygoing mood despite the late hours and lack of people around. For now, at the very least. Most of his walk, he would spend humming a random tune to himself, although he would stop in his tracks for a moment eventually as he stuck his hands in his pockets with a comment to no one in particular.
''I wonder how much actually happens around here...seems pretty peaceful right now....''

| Psyche Terrorist, huh? Now that he undeerstood their circumstances, the title didn't sound half bad. He'd probably have to think up a codename though. Even though he's already little known, condemning yourself to eternal persecution is something only idiots and fanatics would do.
East Eden was particularly windy that night. Not that Selenus could feel the wind, but he could definitely hear the wind's restless howling (Plus it said so on the weather corner of his HUD). Another sound that helped soothe his anxiety. However this time around, Selenus had no anxiety to be calmed. Awakening to his trusty Persona Fenrir had somehow filled him with conviction and thrown all of his depression out the window. Or, at least, that's what he felt it did. Maybe - just maybe - it had only tucked it away, and it was still somewhere deep in Selenus's mind, ready to strike back. But he shouldn't think so negatively. Whatever the case was, Selenus knew that this opportunity did not come twice in a lifetime, and he planned on making very good use of it. Use that would make Newman proud of him.
His musings were interrupted by a familiar face: Straight black hair, blue eyes, and a face both food for and cause of thought...
Selenus approached the man.
"It's been a long time, Noah." Selenus greeted him from the darkness of an alleyway before stepping out.

| Noah kept to his musings for a while, but they happened to get interrupted pretty quickly by a voice coming from some random nearby alleyway. Huh, so someone was out at this time of night afterall. What a pleasant surprise to behold. Maybe his words actually worked as a sort of summoning...? Nah, doubtful. Still, it was a funny thought to entertain for a second, before he had to turn around and acknowledge his new company. Wouldn't want to be rude, would we?
...oh. Well, guess what. He actually knew this one. Sure it has been good 5 years, and a little intervention not so long ago, but you can't forget a metallic wolf easily. Noah would give a lopsided smile. ''Hey. Didn't think I'd actually see you again after all this time has passed. Did you get the permission to move around freely by now...?'' Back then, the machine had been socializing and hanging out under orders more than anything else, as far as he remembered correctly...

| Selenus was happy to see that Noah still remembered him, but at the same time sad at the question he posed following. "It'd be more appropiate to say that I've lost the restriction of not being able to go out alone. My master and I have... parted ways. I'm my own master now."
He realized that what he said could easily be taken the wrong way. "Don't get me wrong though; I've since then learned to restrict myself. I haven't turned into an insane murderous robot, don't worry." He chuckled. That last statement wasn't entirely true, but that was best kept a secret for now. "I see nothing else murdered you that night either... always wondered whether you made it out alive or not."
The robot dog only then noticed the fact that his old friend was wandering around in the ded of the night in a practically abandoned pathway where no one walks through at this time of night (And nearly no one walsk through it during the day anyway, mind you.) "I guess this time I caught you having a stroll, eh? Do you mind if I join you?" If Noah accepted the roposition, he'd walk towards him and level himself at his side.
"So how's your life been going? Did you find any answers to the question I left you with last time we met?"

| Ah, so he was permanently set free in some manner then? Sure, makes sense. Although, it was a slight oddity to think that one would just let a robot go its own way like that. On the other hand, Noah was hardly well versed in the matters of such research. He would laugh shortly as Selenus made his add-on comment, giving the robo-wolf a thumbs up. ''Guess that's good for you then. I think I wouldn't really mind if you were though. Sounds like a fun premise for an action movie of sorts.'' Even though this was reality and would likely get Selenus at least confined, if not outright deconstructed for maladaptive behavior. '''A murderous robot wolf set free'. I'd watch that if it were a thing.'' Sometimes the unusual movies were the most entertaining ones. ''Besides that, are you enjoying your freedom...?'' It sounded like it...
''I got lucky to not meet the danger head on back then. I've heard it was quite the massacre though.'' Or so the word says. He wouldn't doubt it however, since the city had been in quite the shambles after that, until the current Queen made it what it is now. ''A good amount of people actually died I guess. I have no idea if any of the people I've known back then have...'' There were some he met briefly and hasn't seen since then, but you never know.
Noah would grin faintly. ''I suppose you have indeed. What irony. But sure, I don't mind the company.'' It wasn't an expected one, but he was quite fine with it. Unusual companions were interesting right away, and the wolf in question seemed to have changed quite a bit in the last five years. At least, Noah would wager that his style of speech and such were decently different nowadays. Only based on what he heard so far, but still. Even if his guess was not really correct, it would change nothing.
''It's going fine. For the most part the usual. Living through the days, working a job, attending school and the like... Nothing too special. I haven't really been searching for specific answers though. Life's funny that way. It answers your questions when it decides it's the right time.'', he would chuckle a bit with his answer as he kept strolling ahead now with Selenus by his side. Of course, after what happened a bit earlier, there was more to his life than that, but he wasn't going to mention that in a casual conversation...

| Was he enjoying his freedom? That shouldn't be as hard of a question as it actually was. The obvious answer should've been "Yes" But as Selenus had found out the hard way, Freedom means a lot more than simply being independant. His whole life leading up to his freedom had been taking orders (Albeit, he had the choice to ignore them during the Newman period if he so wished.) but it never felt like he was being owned or controlled. Since the moment he was left alone he missed being told what to do in life, not because of submissiveness, but because he was afraid of not knowing what to do and not having the inner strength to find out for himself. Despite all of this, Selenus knew this was nothing Noah would want to hear, so he came up with a simple and direct answer: "Yes, I am.". It wouldn't even have take a relatively smart person, however, to notice the huge amount of sadness being put aside by Selenus when uttering those words. Noah would easily know Selenus was hiding something, but whether he pressed the topic further or not was up to him.
Selenus was relieved to hear that Noah wouldn't mind his company. "I've only managed to reunite with two people whom I met that day; One of them is you, and the other is another robot like me. Other than that... I doubt many survived the events that went down. I saw first hand the horrors that people were met with that day. At the very least I managed to get away safely." Yes, he and Newman escaped from the demons safely, but he never forgot the cost at which they did so. A brief mental image of the little girl who pet him that day's morning surfaced before being repressed and deleted by the robot dog. He wanted none of that right now. "Any other day I would've asked you whether life really did give you answers at all, but lately I've realized that you can't just wait around and hope for the answers to be delivered at your doorstep. You have to look hard for them."

| ''You don't really sound like it.'' Noah would simply comment with a shrug. There certainly must be a reason behind that, but he wasn't about to ask for a sob story of some sort unless the wolf wanted to share it out of his own choice. Despite not being dead tired just yet, he's had enough output for tonight already to make him just let it go without prodding much. In a different situation, he might have asked further though. So, if Selenus wanted to be quiet about it, today was his lucky day, so to say.
''Hmmm....'', Noah would hum to himself as he scratched at his cheek in thought. Sure, a lot of people must have gotten injured...but the city wouldn't get back up on its feet if it had been too many. It had been one night's worth of chaos, and it likely hadn't gotten the chance to truly spread to every corner. ''I don't think Endymion had turned into a ghost town back then however. Out of those that had the bad luck of being close to the epicenters, a lot probably died, but I'm sure plenty have escaped by being farther away.'' Allthough, there were a lot of people who moved to the city later on. Eh, was there even a tally of the death count somewhere? Probably not. ''Yeeeeah. Sure. That's for the answers you actually want to get. The rest might as well come on its own. I'm sure neither of us is the same as 5 years ago, so it cannot be said that we still seek the same answers we had back then. And you can't chase after literally everything even if you wanted to for some reason. There are always priorities you have to focus on first.''
He did remember that morning five years ago, but it isn't like it held enough importance for the next five years. Why would it have?

| "Hmmm..." Selenus figuratively scratched his figurative chin in deep thought. What Noah was saying carried a great deal of truth with it. "You may be right, Noah. You'll have to forgive me for bringing up such a dead horse though. I am completely unable to forget any sort of memory or detail unless I manually delete it, you see. So I would suppose I tend to give transient matters too much importance as a result of being literaly unable to forget. Sorry about that."
The sound of the wind had turned slightly lower, but even then it was still loud enough to drown out the sound of Selenus's paws clink-clanging against the pavement. Selenus, lacking further topics of conversation for the moment, looked up at the moon. He had absolutely no idea why, but since the moment he had awakened, the moon to him looked so... so...
"Beautiful, isn't it?" He inquired as he gazed in admiration at the full moon gracing the night sky. "I have no single clue why, but there's something about the moon tonight... If I didn't know any better I'd say I feel as attacted to it as an actual wolf."

| Sure, robots would obviously have better memories, being able to store data and all. Did it correlate so much though? Noah remembered a lot of things from years ago as well, and he didn't automatically assign them plenty value just because they did not become forgotten yet. ''Is it? I remember what happened too. Being past doesn't make it a dead horse. It's perhaps just not as significant to me right now. Importance is relative to opinion, not to whether you can forget or not, isn't it?'' There were plenty more useful questions to seek answers to nowadays, at least for him. Doesn't necessarily make a memory invalid, just not as relevant, perhaps. Everyone would name it differently.
Either way, he was just taking it in stride. The talk hasn't been crossing any boundaries, so what did it matter that they possibly had different views on it? At this point in time, nothing, really. ''The moon?'' He would look up at it briefly, scratching at his cheek at the odd thought. ''I guess the moon is pretty bright tonight. It's a good night I'd say.'', he would whistle lightly. ''Maybe it's just the atmosphere, unless it is trying to tell you something.'' Signals? Eh, a farfetched idea for sure, but hey. You never know what the night can bring you, haha...

| Selenus let out a quiet yet firm harrumph. "I may overthink things at times, but I doubt the moon is trying to communicate with me." He chuckled. The idea didn't seem that far-fetched when compared to the events he'd just witnessed, but he still had to protest.
Silence overcoming Selenus's ears, he suddenly remembered they were actually walking as they conversed. He'd just been blindly following Noah, since he only had gto be somewhere in a couple of hours. "Where are you... we headed, if you don't mind my asking? What're you doing out so late at night anyway? Isn't it past your curfew?" Selenus teased.

| ''Still a nice thought.'' Noah would smirk a bit. The moon cannot talk, but does that have to stop someone? For all they know, there could be something up with that. He had just been throwing out an out of the box guess though. There was no denying the moon was nice at night, but he didn't get a special feeling about it right now. Maybe the night as a whole, rather than just one object in the sky. ''Or you could just accept you're starting to have a thing for it.'' Not that you can date the moon...
He would chuckle as Selenus poked at him about the lateness of this walk. ''I assure you I'm old enough to decide my own curfew.'' It's not like his parents were around either way, so it wouldn't matter even if he was younger than he is. ''I had a job to do, that's why.'', he would state vaguely as he gave the wolf a peace sign. ''Right now, I suppose I'm just getting a bit of fresh air, but I should be heading for Suzie Q soon, since that's where I live.'' The night was pretty long, but not neverending. He still needed to at least take a decent nap before heading out in the morning again.

| ''Or you could just accept you're starting to have a thing for it.''
Normally Selenus would've scoffed off such a comment, but for some reason this particular comment seemed to have had an effect on him. Instead of feeling partially insulted, Selenus felt... flustered? "I have no idea what you're talking about." Selenus replied in a monotone voice... too monotone, in fact. Like a robot that had gotten past the point of speaking only in monotone was trying to pretend that he'd still not learned to entonate phrases. Was... was he...? Nah. That's ridiculous...
"Really now? How old are you anyway? You still look like an itty bitty baboo to me." The teasing continued."Alright. If you don't want to tell what this job was, that's fine. I suppose that makes us even in the secret-keeping department." He chuckled. It seemed the walk was coming to a close, yet it was pleasant while it lasted; brief as it was.

| Oh? Was that so? ''That's what you said.'' Noah would just toss back in mildly amused tones. It would seem that Selenus was trying to avoid this topic for some reason. Would it be that bad to have a thing for the moon? It can't even cheat on you, which is nice. Ehhh, sort of. ''But hey, maybe you could try flying to the moon one day? Sounds like a nice idea for a trip.'' Did Endymion have that kind of technology...? Well, no matter. Anything's possible when you put your mind to it.
''Dear me, maybe I should probably change my style then.'', he would feign hurt at the comment about his looks for a second, waving his hand at it right after. ''I'm 21. Not sure how that translates to your robot years though.'' Did machines age the same way as people? Their bodies sure couldn't, at least. ''It's a secret indeed. Maybe one day, but it'd be boring if I told you too much right away, wouldn't it? Takes away the fun of getting to know someone long term.'', he would smirk thinly as he kept strolling ahead. ''Are you heading anywhere specific yourself...?''

| "Flying to the moon?" Selenus began. "I know it's entirely possible, but I don't think I'd be able to afford the expenses. Considering that I, y'know, have literally no money. Unless NASA hires me as an astronaut for my technical ability to spend as much time on the moon as I needed to without sustinance or additional equipment, that isn't happening anytime soon." He meant that entirely as a joke, but now he wondered why they didn't just make astronaut ASSWs and cut back on several hundred thousands of dollars.
"There's no such thing as "robot years" Noah. The bodies of ASSWs don't age, so the only way of measuring our maturity is to evaluate how mature we are as individuals. If you wanted to get chronological though, I was activated nine years ago on May the 19th. I've sort of taken to calling that my birthday." Not that having a birthday was of use to him, but it was still nice to have one.
Selenus gave his answer some thought. "No, not really. I'm just killing time until it's time for me to do other important shenanigans. Why do you ask?"

| ''You never know. I wonder if anyone still cares about exploring it nowadays though. There's only so much to see at the moon. Maybe it'd actually be boring to go there, heh....'' Not that Noah was very knowledgeable on the subject, but the moon wasn't as diverse as Earth, was it? It just had some craters on it, and the rest was the same surface all around. Not as exciting as it appears when you look at it from down below.
He would laugh shortly. ''Point taken. Although in theory, it's the same with people. The age of your body doesn't have to say a lot about your level of maturity. Age is really all about the looks, isn't it? I've seen many dumb adults already after all.'', he would wave his hand. ''Don't know what makes a robot mature though.'' The ability to hold a civil conversation...? Eh, that sounded pretty basic...
''No reason. Just wondering. Like you said, it is pretty late right now.'' That kind of applied to everyone. Did robots even need to sleep? It's not like their bodies could get physically tired, but being on constant alert seems to be an overkill as well.
