| Frankly, he had little hope for that. When did any situation ever go normally for him? Nothing would probably change the fact that his relations with people were simply on and off. It hardly mattered what exactly he tried to do. Things just always took a turn that ended far from anything he would have originally intended. No awkwardness was most likely a fool's dream, really. He wasn't really cut out for this. Perhaps he really ought to be more firm when it came to setting a line not to cross, but he didn't like shooting people down unless they were pushing his own boundaries in some way that made him act on spot. He kind of despised stupid spats and whatnot over things that didn't even really deserve such, and yet it always kept happening.
He would end up flopping down on his couch, staring up at the ceiling. Just great. Sometimes he didn't know what was worse. Being alone all the time, or dealing with highs and lows like these. It would seem both sucked in their own way. Too much of either didn't feel right. One of these days, he was seriously going to snap out of frustration, because he was starting to have enough of this. It didn't really matter who's fault it was, if anyone's at all. There was just too much dramatics, or too much of nothing for him to handle. Mae was still luckier than him. At least she had her work and kids to entertain her. And he remembered her mentioning Jack and whatnot. While he was just stuck either being on his own, or making attempts that frequently ended in something like this out of nowhere. Such fun...
