| This certainly wasn't a habit for Sharaku. He rarely went out of his way to contact other people first, as he just found it awkward. In most cases, he didn't even have anything sound to say, and a 'hi' kind of didn't cut it for him. He'd just feel silly in the end. It wasn't really his thing to be random when it came to calling up someone. This time however, he had a good reason. He had to repay Mae for letting him stay over at her place recently and whatnot. And even if it wasn't exactly necessary, he could always use it as an excuse. Not that he would admit doing it for that. Perhaps it was half-half.
That said, it was up to her in the end. Whether she wanted to come over, that is. He would simply offer so in return for last time in a message. That was all there was to it for now. He had to get some stuff done though, in case she did choose to accept...and if she didn't well...it was fine too. He wasn't doing this because he had to, and it wouldn't inconvenience him either way....

| Mae sat alone in front of her pc when the phone buzzed next to her. She picked it up, and noticed, much to her suprise and joy, that it was Sharaku that had sent her a text message. Eager to see what he had to say, Mae wasted no time in opening the text and reading it. What she saw there made her smile... He wanted to see her, at his place. As to why he had picked his own home as the meet-up place, she could only guess. And that was rather moot to begin with, as Sharaku was quite the unpredictable man.
She put on her pink boots and her white jacket before she headed out to see him. She locked the door behind her, and positively ran down the stairs, and hurried as fast as she could to San Malarus station. She barely made it only the tram in time, and she spent the first minute of the ride to Penecia catching her breath... By now, she knew the way to his home, so going there didn't take very long. And sure enough, soon she found herself standing in front of Sharaku's door. "Well... here goes..." She whispered to herself before she knocked on the wooden door, waiting for Sharaku...

| Hmm, this, that...and... ''....?'' Well, someone was fast. He could have sworn it took longer than that to get over here from her place. Either that, or his perception of time got messed up while he was working on stuff. It could be either. Regardless, he was just about done anyway, so he wasn't bothered by the fact that she somehow hurried more than he expected. Now then, he ought to move, so that she wouldn't wait at the door for too long. It was so easy to get lost in thoughts, but she probably wouldn't appreciate him forgetting about her.
''...you're fast.'', he would state in a faintly amused tone once he got to opening the door. He was dressed casually enough. His typical pants and a shirt, albeit he had his sleeves rolled up to his elbows at the moment, suggesting he was probably doing something only recently. It would be unlikely for that to be just because. Not during fall, when the chilly breeze was common. ''I hope you weren't busy.'' She probably wouldn't have come in that case, but whatever. ''Regardless, make yourself at home.'', he would wave towards the living room. ''I'll be back in a second.'', he would add, waltzing off somewhere, leaving her to hang hear coat and whatnot she had with her at her leisure.

| "Heh, indeed I am." Mae replied with a smile as she walked inside. "It's nice to see you again." Something was up... Sharaku was rarely one to be reaching out for others... and the rolled up sleeves would suggest that he was working on something. How... interesting. Not much had changed since the last time she was here. Perhaps something new somewhere that she didn't notice, but regardless, she made her way to the living room after taking off her jacket, gloves and boots, sitting down on the sofa she remembered so well. And there she was, waiting patiently for the suprise Sharaku had in store for her. | |

| ''The pleasure is mine.'', he would return back to her before he left. Seeing as she decided to follow what he had said and go sit down instead of trying to investigate where he went off to and what for, she would have to wait for a bit. It wouldn't be a long while though. Well, not a long while until she'd get a hint in the form of a slightly whiny meow coming from another part of the apartment. And his response to that. Afterall, he did not have soundproof walls, so anything louder, she would be able to hear. ''How many times did I tell you to buzz off already. Kitchen is for food, not cats. Go play somewhere else.....'' The last thing he needed was some disaster. Don't get him wrong, he liked his cat, but cats don't belong anywhere near the kitchen counter. Just no. Bad idea.
Regardless, he would poke his head out into the living room soon. ''I hope you aren't getting bored. I was just dealing with some 'technical' issues here.'' In the form of a furry ball being nosy, that's what. Now that was done and over with...''I'm sure you wonder why did I invite you over. I wanted to pay you back for letting me stay at you place that day. And some. Although you can also take this as a simple hang out, since you said you wanted to meet more regularly anyway.'', he would elaborate as he made his way over, holding a plate in his hand. ''Want dessert...?'' Mmm, cake. At least now it was obvious just what the hell he had been doing. Other than that, maybe the fact that he could pass for a nice waiter...

| Well, being the nice lady that she was, Mae (as curious as she was), decided to stay in the living room while she heard some commotion coming from the kitchen... Something about a cat...? She did her best not to take a peek inside there, and decided to distract herself by looking around the room some more.
"Ah, don't worry, it's quite alright." Mae smiled back at him as he poked his head into the living room. Pay her back, huh...? Well, that was indeed very much like Sharaku. He disliked having debts for people over long periods of time, so she figured it was something related to that. "Oh, I see." The woman replied with a nod. Her eyes would then widen at the sight of the cake Sharaku gave her. "D-Did you make this? For me? Daaaw... you didn't have to do that! Thanks though." She'd take the plate, accompanied by spoon and all so she could actually take a bite out of this tasty morsel. Peach flavor, eh? Oh, yeah... She had told him about that last time they met, didn't she? Whatever the case, it was delicious, and she couldn't wipe that content smile off of her face as she looked at Sharaku. "It's delicious! Thank you so much~♥" Quite the positive effect that had on her. She kept eating, while moving a bit to the left so Sharaku got some room to sit down as well.

| As odd as it was....yeah, he had done just that. Besides, it was one of the less worriesome choices. Had she chosen to not come over, he could have kept that, or ate it himself. Albeit it would take him a great deal of time. He liked sweets, but in moderation. ''I didn't have to. But I thought you'd like it.'', he would smile lightly. ''And I like to cook anyway.'' That was a new one. It was true, though. As unlikely as it may seem for someone like him. It wasn't something one would guess about him just by taking a look. Regardless, it was a nice pasttime, even though his cat could really be irritating sometimes. He probably needed some sort of blockade to his kitchen or something. How troublesome.
''No need. I wouldn't be a good host if I let you sit here with your hands free, would I?'', he would chuckle as he moved to sit down beside her. He appeared to be in a good mood right now. He would let her eat though, simply watching her from his seat. He wouldn't disturb her while she was busy afterall. For whatever reason, he didn't bring anything to eat for himself, thus he was left to lounging for now, but that was okay.

| Daaaw... wasn't that sweet of him? Mae smiled warmly in return before she continued eating the cake she had been given. "Oh? Heh, I didn't know that you liked cooking and baking." He liked cooking, huh? If anything, with how tasty the cake was, Sharaku was rather adept at it as well. That he wanted to do it, and not just bake her something for the sake of making things even between the two made her even happier, and it made the cake taste even better.
Once she had finished her slice, she looked content, to say the least. "You're usually not one to invite people over, from what I've experienced... and yet you did now. Is there a paticular reason why, or did you just feel like it? You know, aside from the delicious cake." It had been a pleasant surpise for sure. And if he had gone out of his way to invite her here... then perhaps he had something special in mind? It wasn't everyday he reached out to someone, after all.

| ''It isn't something I generally announce to people out of the blue. And I guess it isn't something that one can tell just by looking.'' Afterall, he gained nothing by saying it randomly. Cooking came up in conversations very rarely, thus he never had the reason to mention it. It just didn't feel significant enough in normal cases. Even though, in the end he prefered normal cooking to baking. Making cookies and whatnot wasn't exactly his thing, even though he knew how to. But it wasn't that bad.
He would contemplate her questions for a short bit. Well, no...but he didn't mind having people over either. It just wasn't in his nature to go around inviting people left and right. ''I don't do it often, no. But it isn't that I dislike having company over. It just...doesn't happen.'' Most of the people he knew, he didn't even have a good reason to call over. For what, really? ''As for why..I'd probably go with feeling like it. I don't have a big reason in the end. Besides, do I need a reason to spend time with someone...?'' Did he?

| "Heh, it really isn't something you can tell by looking, no. But hey, it's a nice skill to have." Mae said with a wide smile. "I can cook somewhat decently, but... when it comes to baking, I'm worthless." A sheepish smile made it's way across the woman's face as she scratched the back of her head somewhat awkwardly.
"I suppose those rare moments are special then in their own way." Mae said with a light chuckle. Indeed, the less frequent something were, the more... special it was, in a way. He perhaps didn't see it that way, but the fact that he had reached out for her made the woman feel special. Almost as if Mae knew that she meant something to him now. "No, you really don't need a reason. I was just curious, is all." Indeed, curiosity was an interesting concept, for sure. And she couldn't shake this feeling that he had invited her over for some other reason besides cake and hanging out... Like, why specifically HIS home of all places...?

| Ah? He wouldn't have thought so, seeing as she did live on her own too. Then again, baking wasn't a necessity in most cases. One could get by with basic cooking if they weren't picky about food. Then there was the option of bought food, but he personally didn't have much of a taste for that. It could be good sometimes, though. ''Is that so? Well, baking isn't an essential part of life, I guess. It's just something to do to pass time. Though, if you wanted to, I could teach you.'' He was decent enough to do that. It was an open-ended offer though. Afterall, it's not like she needed to know how to do it.
He would shift. ''Perhaps? I tend to measure moments by what happens during them, rather than the sole fact that they are happening most of the time. If this went badly, then it wouldn't be all that special....'' Rare yes. But whether something was really special depended on more than that. Well, there was a bad kind of special too, technically. That was not the best use for the word special, though. Hm. He would sink deeper into the couch in thought. ''Well, if I do have a reason, then I don't know what it is yet. I didn't give it much thought to begin with...'' Did he? Usually, even when you say there is no reason...there still is one somewhere. But he wasn't sure what it would actually be.

| "Oh? Then, yes please. Teach me, Sharaku!" Mae replied with a wide grin. She wasn't gonna let an opportunity like this slip by. She might not get the chance to do so again, so might as well take it now while he offered her.
"Well, if you put it that way..." She didn't want that to happen, now did she? Mae didn't want to end up in a fight with Sharaku... Sure, maybe it was bound to happen at some point, as you can't be on good terms with someone else without some fall outs... She had been in fights with Ayane over small things too... that's just a part of being friends, in a way. "Heh... you'll know eventually, if there is another reason for it... It'll show if it's present."

| He would smile thinly. Quite eager, aren't we? Well, it was an option, although he hadn't planned for that to happen at all. The beauty of circumstance. He certainly hadn't expected to be faced with something like this. Not at all. ''If you so wish. Do you want to do that now, though? Not that I truly mind, but I definitely didn't prepare for this particular idea.'' Hell, he didn't even know what would he teach her on. Cookies? Did he even have the necessary ingredients for that at the moment? He didn't always stock everything in his fridge and whatnot, and he already used a lot of the common stuff needed for baking when he made his little dessert. It was a question what would he find enough of to use at the moment.
He would huff slightly. Yess, he did. But he didn't want her to think about the bad possibilities right now. That was not the intention. He was just trying to be realistic with things. Which was often a stupid idea, apparently. Even though he couldn't exactly read her thoughts, he could figure just how he had sounded, at the very least. He would lean over to poke her cheek. ''That doesn't mean I think this would go bad, of course.'' She was free to interpret that as she would, though. ''So you suggest waiting for it then...? Hm, well, we do have plenty time for that, I guess.'' Would something change with time? No idea, but there wasn't much else he could do. ''Speaking of waiting for things and whatnot, what have you been up to since the last time we met...?''

| "Oh, no. Not right now. I think we'll need to prepare more for something like that, no?" She said with a light chuckle. Indeed, something like that would need a bit of planning. Not that she wouldn't mind baking now, but... she didn't want to stress him with that now. It could wait. And besides, he had probably used up most of if not all of his ingredients making this cake for her. "Speaking of... may I have another slice?" She asked with a wink, picking up the plate she had used earlier.
Mae frowned lightly when he poked her cheek before she poked him back. "It better not, you hear me?" She puffed up her cheeks, looking serious for a second before she couldn't contain the giggles anymore. It was hard doing that with a straight face now. "Well, I'm personally of the impression that letting things develop naturally is the best way to go about it... I learned that two years ago..." It was better indeed to let things have their course, and not force things. Oh... he had to bring up THAT... Her face turned somewhat disgruntled when he asked her. She was going to tell him though. No reason to lie about it... "I met... Charles yesterday..." She sighed deeply, rubbing her forehead. "Even after two years... we're not really on good footing... I was hoping that we would at least get along a bit better, but... no... At least I got the answers I wanted." Indeed. That had been the final nail in the coffin... She had now tucked away the feelings she had for the android for good, as she knew it would only bring her pain and suffering trying to bring that back...

| ''Yes. Unless we wanted to just wing it.'' That could end slightly messy though. He wasn't as good as a first grade chef afterall, so he couldn't make something great out of completely anything. He would rather know beforehand that he had what he needed and whatnot. ''Certainly.'', he would chuckle lightly, as he got up to get one for her, grabbing the plate on his way. It wouldn't take him very long to come round back. ''Here, have your order.'' Hmm, he was sure starting to feel like a waiter. Although he supposed that could get boring quickly too. How did people not get tired of that kind of job when they had to serve random people the majority of the day...? Not that he minded it right now, but he would probably not want to run around like that for too long, and for people he didn't even know.
He would puff up slightly. ''Of course not.'' Well....as far as his capabilities went. Sometimes, it's impossible to prevent a bad situation from coming up, no matter how hard you try. He's had plenty run ins with that already. Still, he would do what he could. ''Yes...it is. I just feel like I should have some sort of reason, at the very least. Then again, perhaps it's not meant to be today...'' He was probably wishing for too much. His reasons for things were always scarce in the first place. He would blink in confusion when his question evoked such a reaction. Did he ask something bad? She explained soon enough though. That. Sure, he remembered the whole issue from two years ago, but he hadn't expected it to come up now, so suddenly. ''Maybe I shouldn't have asked...'' As much as he couldn't have known it would result in this. ''....it's alright though. Sometimes, it's just not meant to be. If he chooses to push you away even when you try, then it's probably for the best this way. There are a lot of other people who care about you. You don't have to worry over him when it causes you to feel bad in the end. He probably has his own life as it is...'' Honestly, he wasn't the best at giving comfort, for he usually didn't know what to really say even when he could understand how someone felt, but he'd try his best. He would shift closer, putting one arm around her in a sort of half-hug, leaving it open for her to move about if she wished to. The irony behind this though. Was he not dealing with the same in a way? Then again, he would think that the situation between him and Shun was even worse than this, for many reasons. Guess trying to keep peace with old dates was almost futile. With exceptions, of course. Seeing as the two of them were doing okay, despite the way they split up two years ago. But....truth to be told, they were barely together. It had been just a short while of Mae hanging onto him after she had issues with Charles.
