There was a lot going on, blood, beaten and battered thugs, and a lightly touched Sada. Even witnesses could say that those thugs started with Sada first, but from the way the beating down, it was as if Sada soon became the aggressor. Even though many people can attend towards the fact that Sada didn’t start anything, he was still held in order to answer some questions as to what exactly went down and how the story goes. “…… Sada wasn’t too sure who they were going to send in to talk to him , or why they wanted him to write a report when Sada said he wasn’t going to press any charges of the men verbally and physically assaulting him.Good thing I didn’t necessarily have to clean up myself, the only sad thing is that police came a tad early.

Sada would simply wait for the time being.

"Hmmm..." Charles was deep in thought as he read through the initial report on the situation, still somewhat confused as to why exactly they chose him to interrogate the subject. It was no news that he wasn't quite the people person. But then again... From what it seemed at first glance, the case was rather simple - a lone man beat up a whole bunch of thugs. There were eyewitnesses who testified that the man waiting in the room beyond was innocent and not the starter of the fight. But the reason for the interrogation was kind of obvious, who in their sane mind would believe that something like that could happen, the man barely had any scratches! Was it why they still decided to keep the man in the station? Whatever the reason, time was running short and Charles needed to go inside.

The door creeked slightly as he pushed them open and walked inside, eyes still locked on the paper in hand. He walked over to the chair on the opposite side of the suspect, pulled it slightly and sat on it, taking another moment to check the paper one last time before raising his head to look at the man. "Mister... Sada? Morihiro Sada?" He said as he placed the papers on the table and pulled out a recording device. Such was the procedure.

"So are you the good cop or the bad cop?" Sada raised his eyebrow, a bit unamused towards he fact that he was going to be here for quite some time. How did this work anyway? Are they going to repeat everything that happened a moment ago see if they can confirm if what happened is correct or not? Sada thought this was a waste of time. "I'm not one to beat around the bush, My name is in fact Mihiro Sada, but what is it that you want from me in this point in time?"

"Ah, Mihiro, alright. Yes, my mistake, I apologize." Charles squirmed in his seat. He didn't like interrogations, it always felt like it was partly him being interrogated as well. And to top it all up, the man's attitude wasn't really welcoming... and he misread the name... They should've sent someone else...

That wasn't everything that bugged him. The man's initial question confused the android. The analogy was unknown to him. So he had to ask. "What's this about good cops and bad cops anyways?"

"I'd rather that nickname than my actual name if you don't mind. " Sada didn't like it, Morihiro brought back memories, plenty of memories involving his family when they were still married. Those were happier times, of course. But now, now he's trying to go through one day at a time. Sada merely blinked at the police officer but did his best to hold his composure. Was he supposed to answer that?" Are you one of those nice guys policemen or are you going to yell and carry on, using cliche likes involving "hating punks like me" or lumping me up with the rest of what's wrong with society and going on and on......." Sada trailed off, this guy was as interesting as a door knob, he simply needed to turn this police officer and walk out the door.

"Oh, so I didn't get the name wrong. That's a relief." Charles smiled, having that initial burden lifted off his shoulders in the blink of an eye. "I'll just call you Mihiro then, but I'll have to list your given name in the report, if that is okay." He took the papers in his hand, straightened them all out and ut them back on the table in a neat rectangle.

He then blinked back at the man, feeling much lighter than at the start of the interrogation. "Oh!" He gave the man a smile. "No, no, I won't accuse your or anything. All the witnesses have already confirmed your situation. You weren't the one who initiated the fight, that I believe in. But, I think the others are a bit less open to such cases. I mean, you barely got scathed and all of them were knocked unconcious. It's rather astounding. I just need you to write your report on what happened and answer a couple of questions, just to honor the procedure. So, what was it even that got them to attack you?"

Fine, let's start from the beginning. "Sada was pretty silent for a while as he closed his eyes. "I was doing my usual run,  when those thugs or whatever you want to call them, was messing around with some girl that had no interest in them. Apparently, she was   quite vicious towards their constant attempts and they started to get a bit rough. During the struggle, kin actual public where apparently the only people that could step in are the police due to the spineless population of this island..."Sada let that sink  in for a while.  "The girl broke free and managed to be thrown into me.  After that the man  looked at me up and down and thought I was an associate, putting his hand on my shoulder, I ended up telling him to let go.

He didn't seem to like that and tried to tighten his grip and throw a punch, so I kicked him.  Of course, his friends jumped in,  it got violent afterwards. How dull,  there always some asshole in the profession of throwing other assholes in the way.

Charles kept nodding as he listened to Sada's story, noting something in his notebook every once in a while. The comment about the spineless public flew right over his head, overshadowed by the mention of the police in the positive light for the first time during this conversation. He used the moment where Sada stopped for a bit to note a couple of more things. Most of it fit in with what the witnesses have reported, and not only that, but it corresponded well with what the girl in question had told them as well. There really wasn't much point in keeping this guy here, even more so as he seemed displeased with the situation. Still, Charles would have to please the higher ups by at least finishing the interrogation before letting him go.

"Right. Your story corresponds with the witnesses'. So, how did you beat them all without getting beaten yourself? I'm sure we'd all like to hear the one who did it tell us about it. Oh, but before that. Do you have any personal connections with any of the attackers? Or the girl? Have you ever seen them before, or maybe interacted with them..?"

"I don't know, i guess i just got lucky. Believe it or not, some of their punched missed and they started hitting each other by accident. The better question is, why were they hitting themselves?" Sada then shrugged. "I don't know who they are, never met the woman and i never met those guys before. But they probably heard about me or something from a long time ago. I used to have run in with those guys for a long time during the beginning of high school. I guess you can say that people either grow out of it or focus on something else." Honestly, Soccer and his team became Sada's life for a while, he had no need to go thug hunting in order to satisfy his urges. "Same run-ins, accidental, and they always end up losing. This is just the first time I actually seen the police step in, of course..after the problem already took care of itself.

"Oh, I see. Do you think they might've been under the influence of something? We're still waiting for the toxicology results." Charles continued on with the pointless interrogation.

There really wasn't any reason to continue bothering this man. His story matched up and everything seemed to have solved itself. Now, all that could be done was to wait for the analysis so they could just let him go. "I'll see with the higher-ups if it's okay to let you leave. If not, you'll have to wait for them to sort the administration before leaving, all right?" Charles looked at Sada, picking the recorder and getting up from his seat. "Just wait a couple of minutes, I'll be right back."

A couple of minutes later...

The door creeked open again and Charles walked back in, shrugging as he looked at Sada apologetically and shook his head. "They won't let you go. They wanna be sure." He said, sitting back on the opposite side of the table from Sada. "Can I get you something as you wait? There's a vending machine in our office..."

"Sure of what I told you everything that I know about the entire thing. What more do you want from me?" So now they were trying to hold Sada in custody for a little while longer. "For the longest you can hold me without accusing me or convicting me of anything, it's 24 hours. If i was to assume, you are trying to connect those people with my accident and assume I'm out looking for revenge or trouble?" Of course, there would be some sort of police report about that, he made a bit of the headlines for missing the final game. That and his background run-ins with thugs before, did they start assuming Sada had other motives of his involvement?

"Black coffee....."

"Hmm? 24 hours? No, I don't think they're planning to keep you in custody that long... at least I hope so..." Charles paused for a moment, awkwardly scratching the back of his head while grinning almost stupidly. "A-anyways, I'll try to convince them to let you go. I already tried, but they rejected me immediately..." Another pause. Talking to this man was harder than he thought, especially with how he could only bring him bad news, when both of them knew he was innocent. "...they're probably trying to connect you to them. I'm just hoping they won't start making stories up..."

"Sure, I'll bring you some." Charles picked the papers up again and exited the room, trying his best to avoid Sada's look. Once he was back in the hall, relief could finally wash over him, and he took a moment to just shrug and sigh, before moving on towards the office, where he knew the higher-ups were more than determined to pin something on this guy. He felt so guilty that he couldn't just get this guy out of here... Gah, if only Jack and his father were here... they'd solve this immediately... This way, he was rather helpless, as a mere 'officer', the 'partner of the chief's son'... Oh well, time to get Sada some black coffee... Wait, what was black coffee anyways? ...maybe it'll have a label... He realy would like to avoid having to ask anyone about it... Especially now. Or maybe he should? Hmmm...

In Sada's room, minutes would tick one after another, boring, long minutes which dragged on and on, and Charles was nowhere to be found. The clock would tick and tick... For 30 minutes already. Was this normal? What was happening?

A sudden knock on the door would shake the room's silence as Charles would walk in, smiling from ear to ear, a black coffee in one of his hands, while papers in his other. He would stand at the frame of the open door, just looking at Sada with that victorious smile on his face. What was..?

"Is this how it is to have power? Even if you decide to dedicate your life towards any sort of justice, in the end, to those who are innocent in your own eyes and the eyes of the people.....there's nothing you can do...right?" That's not the kind of power that Sada wanted, it wasn't something he would obtain only to yield to the rules that this current reality has already set up for him. Sada simply refused that to be his life. They were all useless, all of them.

............................................

Sada waited patiently with his eyes closed actually, trying to remember the moment he signed that waver with his mother's company in order to not only save his legs, but make him better. Sada didn't necessarily understand what he was exactly at this point in time, but enhanced was a good word. He loved it and he hated it, the silence of solitary confinement is what took him away from the noise of the outside world, but he was then left with himself and his thoughts. After a while, you ending up thinking about things that happened a long time ago.

After Sada's "trance" was broken, he noticed that the officer walked in with a smile on his face. " Is that the winning smile of customer service at its finest? All you had to do was get it out of the vending machine.... "Shit, was he out of quarters or something? Sada would have got it himself then, but at least he got what he wanted. Still, why was this officer smiling. "What happened?"

Charles regarded Sada's questions with a triumphant shake of his head. Sure, he did get the right coffee from the vending machine, and he was proud of himself, but that wasn't the reason he was smiling. He was smiling because a realization had hit him as he was walking down the hall towards the office. A realization that, as much as he lacked power to make a difference himself, he had one ace up his sleeve, and he was gonna use that ace to get Sada out of there right now, no matter how wrong it made him feel to take advantage of something like that.

One step, two steps, three steps... Three wide steps, in which he passed the whole room, and was standing above Sada right now, looking down at him with that same brimming smile. Without giving a reply to the man, however, he instead turned his head over to the door, and waved his hand. "You can come in and apologize now." He shouted in the direction of the hall, and, for a moment, there seemed to be no response. However, right there and then, sighing miserably as they did so, three officers entered the room. It was clear they were there against their will, but what made them do that, who knew? "Go on, this man doesn't have all day." Charles kept on going, until the three officers finally apologized, fully against their pride and will. After that, Charles shooed them out of the room, and turned to Sada. "You're free to go. Oh, and here's your coffee!" He handed the man his coffee, as if nothing strange had just happened. "You can go, I'll walk you over if you need an entourage."

If anything, Sada was impressed with this man being able to pull in three other officers that were seemingly forced to apologize to him. He didn’t know what they were sorry for or why, which only made Sada want to know even further. “….. “ Sada was silent for a moment as he got up and took the canned coffee. Looking at this guy close up, he didn’t seem all that older than Sada. He just had a gun, badge, and different career choice. “What did they do? What happened?” Sada said in a pretty neutral tone. He was perplexed at best that this man handled the situation in such a way when Sada could of almost swore he was a small fry in the police force.
