This wasn't what he expected. After what went on so far, he could sooner imagine the other pointing in the supposed direction or something alongside those lines. But fate had different ideas, apparently. This or that, he would do nothing but stand there as the other approached him. He may not really like this kind of thing, but he couldn't just avoid people for no reason. He knew as much. Plus, doing so would help him none, and he certainly did not need even more complications on his plate than he already had to deal with regularly.

He would frown at the pictures. These things weren't human, that much he could tell. Aside from that, he had no clue. This wasn't really his field, and while he surely wasn't normal himself, he did not spend his time chasing non-human beings or anything similar. It held no meaning to him at the current time. It just smelled of trouble, and fighting that could be dangerous. He would blink. ''...keep walking? Something has to be on the way eventually.'' He honestly had no idea, and very basic explanations weren't a lot of extra help. Although...''What are these things? They don't seem human.'' Would that mean anything? No idea, but he felt like asking.

He would stay silent for a while as he was asked a question himself. And then shrug vaguely. ''I don't know. I don't even know what this place is. But it probably doesn't matter regardless. I don't have where to go anyway.'' Technically speaking, he did not live anywhere, so in the end, it was just a matter of whether it was possible to survive wherever he was at the current moment. He tended to not stay in one place for too long one way or another.

The hunter took note as he approached that other did etter at accepting him into the personal space bubble. Due to this, the hunter was able to show the other the device and the pictures on it, using simple explanations to explain his situation. Sure it wouldn’t enlighten the boy, but to be honest, he didn’t see the other as a hunter type. So it was quite surprising when the other actually made a suggestion. As the boy spoke, the other would look up at him as he suggested to keep walking to find clues. A logical solution and one that he was planning to do anyway considering the situation, but was this one offering to help? The hunter would ponder this for only a second before blinking and just going with what he had. If Fate had brought them together to work together, then he’d be fine with that. If they had met for another reason, well he’d deal with that too when that bridge appeared. For now, the hunter remained with a neutral expression on his face as he nodded lightly.

“Mhmm…” the hunter would let out the sound causing soft rattling to come from him and mix with the sound making it sound like a light growl. It was nothing hostile just a sign of agreement as crimson eyes went back to scanning the area. The tall grass would prove to be problematic, but maybe if both of them were hunting for clues they would discover something. It was a better plan than doing a search on his own.

The hunter was one the edge of attempting to suggest how to go about searching when the boy asked something that caused the hunter to first blink before he looked up at the other a bit taken back by someone actually being curious about the creatures he hunted. But to explain what they were…

The hunter’s eyes would lower as a light grumble came from him as he tried to figure out how to word this.

“…Tey and mm..” he pointed at himself. “…usp to…to…mmm…” He shook his head and tried again. “Usp…human, bah…workers...ebil workers fom..other plaz.. aim and…uh…” he used the hand sign for twisting…changing… “Workers fly when done, bah us….differm…Tey…the ones…lost…” He pointed to his head suggesting the others had lost their mind. “Tey…kill efferytink,” he would then point at himself. “Stayed okay, but not like tem killing…so…meh hunt and kill tem..” he would say. “Urmm..tey hack scent like neh…” he pointed at the other next to him finishing what he had to say before becoming silent for a bit. The memories were from long ago, but they still felt like fresh wounds as he remembered in detail the events that had passed and the ones who had made them this way. In time, he would pay them back, but for now he still had a few more lost ones to take care of first.

When the other answered about why he was here, the hunter let a light snort of amusement. So he was in a similar boat as himself, except this one didn’t come here with a purpose.

“We…fix…togever…” the hunter said as he looked over at the other with a light nod. “Sephtis,” he said giving the other his name even if it did seems like just a random word thrown out there. It would linger long enough for the other to give a name of his own if he wanted to. Regardless if he got the name or not, shortly after this he walked a few steps forward and pointed to the field.

“Sephtis search,” he would point to the left side of the field. “Neh search,” he would point to the opposite side of the field before dropping his hand. “Fim somefink…call Sephtis, k?”

The hunter would finish the directions before he dropped his hand to his side. The hunter would linger behind for a bit to see if the other had questions or objections. If the boy did have something else in mind, the hunter would listen.

If not, the hunter would shift from his spot and begin to walk towards the left hunting for clues.

PostSubject: Re: Mission one: Mansion of Despair (Shaku)   Mission one: Mansion of Despair (Shaku) - Page 2 EmptySun Dec 13, 2015 4:30 pm

Right. The only issue here was that he wasn't completely sure as to how much he was interested in this matter. This most likely had nothing to do with him, and he has never been the one to chase people, or any types of beings when it didn't appear to have any benefit he would know of. On the other hand, he was clueless about this entire place, and staying close by someone was probably the better course of action at the moment. It was one or the other, although the first was partially irrelevant for now. He'd decide in case there would actually be anything to be found. It could even be fruitless afterall, as they guy seemed to have no idea where his goal was at all.

He would frown in slight confusion as the other attempted to explain the origin of those things. He was able to figure out the train of thought well enough, but it didn't make enough sense to him. How does a human become something like that? Some of them looked more like actual monsters from that picture. Something was wrong with that...plus...

Mission one: Mansion of Despair (Shaku) - Page 2 TWOgiXk

''What you claim you smell on me...is not even really me. If that's what they are, then they aren't human at all. But you aren't like that, so this must have happened after you and them left whatever working place you mean. Losing your mind doesn't make you this....Something isn't right with that...''

He was smart enough to assume, but he himself didn't know much about the subject, so this was the best he could come up with. He would look at his hands briefly. If what the guy claimed was true, then there was no way those others were human in nature...which would only make killing and a violent behavior natural, rather than it being a result of losing mind. That was what he'd think, at least, but he was no expert on this.

He would tilt his head after a moment. ''Why kill them? Violence brings only more violence. Isn't there another way? You just become a killer like them if you do that. There is enough of that in the world already, I think. People destroy each other...I'd say you and me are good examples of that.'' Not that killing was right to do for anyone, but keeping the chain going didn't sound like the best solution. Unless there was no other option. Surprisingly enough, he seemed fairly talkative when he had something to say. Even though there was always some sense of distance about him.

He would take note when the other gave his name, but shake his head slightly in response. ''I probably shouldn't give my name. Even if, you probably wouldn't be able to pronounce it. If you want, you can pick something to call me that is easy enough for you. I can work with that.'' He had his reasons to be cautious. He didn't really want many people knowing him. Besides, this could work better in the end, rather than having the other possibly fail at saying his name.

Golden eyes would turn to the side, looking in the direction the other pointed at, with a mostly inaudible sigh. Was this worth it...? Then again, he didn't have anything else to do here. He would probably have to search for a way to get somewhere he recognized anyway. ''Fine.'', he'd say before walking off, looking around....as much as he had no idea what was he meant to look for? Thankfully, the tall grass wasn't that huge of a deal since he was rather tall himself. But he still didn't know what was he to see.

PostSubject: Re: Mission one: Mansion of Despair (Shaku)   Mission one: Mansion of Despair (Shaku) - Page 2 EmptyTue Dec 15, 2015 10:30 am

Sephtis would give his explanation the best way he could and was pleased to see the boy understood him well enough. When he heard the words given, the hunter’s eyes would lock onto golden ones for a moment as he sought understanding. The longer he observed the eyes, the more uncomfortable he became with the thought that was coming to his head; however, there was no doubt about the conclusion he came to in the end. So there were more like the workers that had twisted him and the others...lovely.

Crimson eyes would lower as he looked off to the side in thought.

“Mmm…similar to,” he would gesture towards himself and then continue as he tried to explain the next part of what was said.

“Tey….’ere gone…long co. Lost mmmm efor ‘come beast. Tey broke, so shadows..leak..holes. Fill up and,” he used the hand signal for twist again. “Cake tem..beast…” the hunter would turn eyes back to the other.

“Tey not us no more. ‘ust beasts. Talk…no work. Only kill…” the hunter said in a serious tone. He was well aware that there was other ways if his targets were human, but they weren’t and so he had to kill them and who knew maybe the boy was right. Maybe one day he’d become just like them and someone else would have to hunt and kill him; however, for the time being that is not the case.

When the subject came to a name, the other would still not give one causing the hunter to frown lightly in thought. Well, outside of being secretive the boy didn’t seem to want to give him a challenge with his name. Offended? Not really. Perhaps the other was being considerate in his own way. In any case, he left giving him a name to hunter, so after some thought the hunter would look at the other and say, “Sai” with a light nod. Simple and easy to pronounce. It would work and if the other didn’t like it? Hmph. Well, that was another matter wasn’t it?

Once names were out of the way, the hunter would get down to business. While he gave simple commands, the boy had the option to not do any of it, but for whatever reason the boy would submit to the request. Quite content with this, the hunter would move down the path to left to begin his hunt. Being the shorter of the pair, the waist high grass was only slightly challenging to deal with, but this did not stop him from his hunt for clues.

***********************************************

The path to the right was mirror image of the path to the left. Tall grasses for as far at the eye could see swayed in the breeze and the light sounds of bugs and other animals could be heard. If the boy looked down, he would notice the bare ground under the grass, like someone had simply stuck the grass all over the place rather than it growing natural. The other odd thing he would notice, is that in some areas there were bones of various sizes and kind scattered about, a sign that maybe something else lurked out here or perhaps something was wrong with the field itself. In any case, if he kept walking he would eventually notice a skeletal hand laying in a spot of the field that interestingly enough had no grass growing in it. If he looked carefully, he’d notice that said hand was holding something. A balled up piece of paper, a scroll, or something else was hard to see and could only be fully examined if the boy actually went up to the thing and took said item from the skeleton hand. The hand wasn’t buried in the ground and it didn’t seem to have body pieces nearby, so perhaps this was the unfortunate remains of something or someone.

Regardless of the story, the boy had a choice to make: Check out the oddness or look somewhere else. It was as simple as that.

Mission one: Mansion of Despair (Shaku) - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Mission one: Mansion of Despair (Shaku)   Mission one: Mansion of Despair (Shaku) - Page 2 EmptyTue Dec 15, 2015 7:26 pm

He would look back at the other passively, not reacting much to the scrutiny. There wouldn't be much to see anyway. Aside from the unusual coloring, his eyes didn't really betray anything, except for perhaps giving off some sort of intensity. Regardless, it would just be a puzzle for the other if he tried to figure anything out by staring at him like that. Out of all things he was, simple was not really it.

Listening to the further elaboration, he would at first raise an eyebrow slightly, seemingly taking a moment to think over the implications of what was being said. As sketchy as the meanings were due to the inconsistent speech, the basic point was usually clear enough for him to follow. Was it really as linear as that? Some animals acted like beasts too, but it was usually for a reason, even if not an easily visible one. Of course, it was hard to compare such beings to a human kind of mentality, but as long as something is a living creature, it should have some form of consciousness. The catch is...trying that kind of game could get one killed instead. He wasn't the one to overly care, however, and it did show at times.

''Is that so...?''
, his expression would turn into that akin to a careless sneer, his eyes narrowed slightly. ''Following that logic, maybe I'm going to die too. I wonder what's it like.'', he would state, his tone kind of...amused? Either way, there was something almost disturbing about the way he was behaving, especially when compared to what he was like before. Perhaps despite being fairly agreeable most of the time, he wasn't necessarily okay as well. It would be hard to tell. But one thing was for certain. The way he spoke indicated that there was more to him than one would guess at a first glance. He wouldn't do much more though, eventually turning back to normal conversation as subjects were changed.

''Very well. I can remember that.'' It was definitely simpler than his own name, so it would be a shame if he couldn't keep that in mind for a while. As much as it was odd to an extent, but the other didn't seem to be extremely against the whole set up anyway, seeing as he wasn't being persuaded to actually give a name himself. Hm. Who knew how long would they stay around each other in any case...

~~~
He would proceed to walk around with a faint sigh. This place was certainly strange in some way, but he wasn't sure why exactly was it the best idea to search in a basically open space like this. The only luck would be finding something on the ground here. Otherwise, it was just lots and lots of grass. Which wasn't even attention grabbing after a while.
Golden eyes looked around with a hint of annoyance, until his sight settled on some bones. Great. He wasn't disturbed by the sight, but he didn't fancy the idea of seeing dead things either. Why was he doing this again? Still, he would walk over, crouching nearby the thing, poking at it a bit. He wasn't necessarily enthused about this.
PostSubject: Re: Mission one: Mansion of Despair (Shaku)   Mission one: Mansion of Despair (Shaku) - Page 2 EmptyThu Dec 17, 2015 9:54 am
The boy would seem to think for a bit on the words that the hunter had said before finally settling on the sneer that appeared on is face. To the sneer, the hunter’s brows knitted as a small look of confusion crossed his face as he analyzed this. Was this one uncaring or simply amused? As he heard the other's words that followed, the hunter would frown at this. He could hear a bit of perhaps amusement there, but having seen the end results of people being shifted into beasts…?
The hunter shook his head before looking away from the other.
“Slow…pain…no end 'til kill,” the hunter would say as he remembered quite clearly how it felt to have the darkness attempting to take over. Remembering those faces of agony….those screams for the ones that could not resist the taint and the relief they showed if someone was kind enough to end their misery. The memories were bad enough and being a hunter of the things didn’t help to lighten the mood. He wasn't proud of what he had become for being "the stronger test subject", but he couldn't let them suffer either.
Regardless of the heavy air that had settled around them, the hunter would eventually shake the feeling off as he refocused on the task at hand. For starters, the boy seemed to go along with the name getting a small smile from the hunter. He appreciated that. At least now he didn’t have to worry about finding ways to get the attention of the other if it was necessary to call out to him. In any case, after all was settled the pair would move off in their separate directions to begin their search of the field.
*******************************************************
If the boy had poked the bone to see if something would occur then he would be very disappointed. Outside of shifting lightly under the poke, the bones would do nothing. They really were just bones. However, if the boy poked the hand, he would find the fingers tightly wound around the thing it held. The fingers appeared to be frozen in that position. If the boy wanted the object, it seemed he would have to pry it open or simply look elsewhere for clues.
Whatever the boy choose to do was up to him, but after a while footsteps would approach him from behind. If he was a good listener, he would recognize them as Sephtis. The hunter would as he approached.
“Nek?” he would ask. The word the best he could do it seemed when it came asking if the other had found something as he drifted a bit closer before stopping a respectful distance away from the other, watching the world around him from under the shadows his hat casted over his eyes. He would wait respectfully enough for the answer.
He would give a small shrug at the response he got from the other. ''I've felt that way before. It can't get worse than that.'', he'd state in a matter of fact tone, leaving it to the interpretation of his companion. It seemed that he got bored of the subject as fast as it appeared to amuse him a moment ago. Either that, or he was just good at not showing his actual emotions clearly. Regardless of the underlying meanings, it would remain only a conversation, thus the other had nothing specific to actually worry about. Unless he cared about intangible matters.
~~~

There would be no visible reaction to whatever happened. He didn't specifically care much. He only did it to do something, rather than having an actual goal in mind. Perhaps he just wasn't in the mood to hurry with this. Although he would eventually attempt to get at the thing this piece of bones was holding. Whether he had enough time to or not, he would stand back up as the other approached. He wasn't necessarily able to tell who it is just by the sound of walking, but he had other ways to know it was safe enough. They were his own though. He would glance towards Sephtis. ''Done so fast? There's not a lot of it here, aside from bones scattered around. You say your targets kill. Could they be the ones to have left parts of dead bodies here?'', he'd ask in a neutral tone, trying to examine the object meanwhile. He could be a problem solver if he really wanted tho, although he seemed to be rather detached from the subject at hand most of the time.

“Mmm…’aven’t we all,” the hunter muttered in a slow fashion letting out his first clear sentence since they had began chatting. Perhaps the words were easy enough for him to pronounce. Whatever, the case was hunter wouldn’t push the subject anymore as he drifted over to his end of the field to see what he could find. At first, he found nothing, but then the scattered bones appeared on his end. Curious, he would kneel down to examine them. As crimson eyes examined them, they would eventually move towards a skull were strange black slugs retreated into the sockets. As the hunter saw this, he tensed understanding immediately what this field was….

*******************************************************

It would be a challenge, but with enough work, the boy would be able to pry open the old fingers and pull from them an old pouch made of leather sealed by a string. If he was to open it, he would discover a series of tiny dolls, but outside of that nothing else would be in the bag.

Mission one: Mansion of Despair (Shaku) - Page 2 Trouble-dolls

The dolls were a strange thing to see in a place like this begging the question as to why they were there in the first place. In any case, while the boy examined the dolls, the hunter would come over and ask his strange question. When the other spoke to him and asked a question while he examined what he had found, the hunter would be unusually quiet…and if the boy were to look at him, he would see the hunter had drawn a blade and was on the edge of bringing it down on him. However, before the blade could fall, a sliver of silver would unexpectedly jut out of the hunter’s chest right where the heart was causing “the hunter” to freeze before melting into strange black ooze that quickly sunk into the ground below them and vanished.

With the threat gone, the real Sephtis would lower his blade into a defensive position.

“Mmm…field fault…talk later...” he would say in a serious tone and then shifting his head slightly, he would look to something behind the boy as his brows knitted with displeasure. “Attacker,” he would warn the other giving Saki a few seconds to dodge a rather long black limb that sought to slam into him.

While the hunter might’ve moved to chop that limb, it would seem more problems were to come. He caught movement to the left of them and turned to face it. A strange unsteady blob of black was shifting and gurgling at them and from behind and to his right he could hear two more. So there four enemies that had created a lose ring around them keeping the pair in the middle of them.

Mission one: Mansion of Despair (Shaku) - Page 2 Main_blobs74166

Not liking where this was going, the hunter took a step back. He couldn’t worry about Saki now. He could only hope the other could handle himself well enough in battle. With that train of thought in mind the hunter would focus on the enemies at hand.

Meanwhile, if the boy had dodge the blow he would be able to catch a glimpse of the arm retreating through the grass meeting up with the blob like body that twitched and shifted towards them. To his right, he would notice another of these figures twitching its way closer to him.

If he had failed to dodge...well needless to say the blow would be heavy and far from comfortable.

''....''
He would give the dolls a blank stare. This didn't really seem worth the effort. He had no use for some random crafts, whoever it was they used to belong to. He did stare at them for a while longer though, but that didn't mean he was paying no attention to what was going on around him. Despite the fact that he was generally letting Sephtis close to him for now, he was still keeping an eye on the other in one way or another. Adapt he would, but that didn't mean he trusted people this quickly just because.

Thus, he would take note of the strange behavior fairly fast, his eyes narrowing at the other, but it was over before he could act in any way. He would frown, obviously not pleased by this, but remain at that for now. And while he heard what Sephtis said next, he would make no move to dodge. Rather than that, he simply braced against the blow, to not get thrown away by the force. Truth was, he could have avoided that, but for some reason he chose not to. Whether the other would realize this was intentional was up in the air, but it's not like it mattered to him much. He rarely fought alongside someone anyway. And yes, it did hurt to take it, but he seemed not to care.

He would click his tongue his gaze sweeping over the enemies briefly, his expression rather cold. His demeanor appeared to be different than it was before the tussle started. What was the reason for the sudden change? That was a mystery for now...

((Note: The only time you need to roll the dice is for status skills (alignments) and crits. Everything else is PvP style.))

Sephtis took note of the way Saki acted. The way he took the blow rather than dodged and how his attitude became cold when the enemies arrived. While it was bothersome, the hunter only kept the change at the back of his mind. No matter what, these two were not friends and the only reason they were working together now was simply because the other choose not to walk away. While they were not hostile towards each other outside of battle, the hunter had to wonder how that would change now that a battle was at hand.

Meanwhile….

The first creature that had struck out at the boy pulled its arm back to its normal length, its featureless face tilting as it heard the words and sensed the power that radiated off the other. While the other three seem to back away under whatever energy the boy was giving off, this particular creature did not falter. It would let out a series of clicks that seemed to calm the others before making its move.

??? #1:

Seeing its ally attack the one to the boy’s right would regain its composure and perform an attack of its own.

??? #2:

As the battle began for the boy, Sephtis would be preoccupied with the other two. Instead of using magic like the others, these two decided to do a team attack.

Sephtis saw the two moving at the same time and in turn began to move himself. Sephtis was a bit faster than its biting friend and so he raised his sword causing the creature to clamp onto it instead of him. As soon as the creature bit the weapon, Sephtis would put all his strength into the next move. Shifting the blade in the creature's mouth so that it stuck in the creature, the hunter would grunt lightly as he swung to the left causing the slightly stronger and heavier creature to stumble to the right just in time to be used as a partial shield against that on coming arm. While the arm hit its ally causing it to let out a gurgle of pain, the arm split like liquid causing the other half to smack right into Sephtis. As the blow hit, the hunter stumbled back pulling his sword out of the other in the process.

While the blow didn’t hurt much, he still found that little trick problematic. If it could make its arm split then what else could these things do?

He would give the creature an almost bored look. That previous hit had hurt, but that was because he opted to take it, which he didn't really have to do. It better not think it was a big shot because of that. Nor should it think he would daydream and not pay attention as it took the time to draw the hand back, tilt its face and make clicks. Maybe he could do a picnic meanwhile. Regardless, he would just roll his eyes as he saw it rear its arm back, waiting for when it began the lash forward, at which point he would do a sideways roll around 2 meters to the left to smoothly move out of the range before it reached his original position.

When there, he would stay in a crouch, his eyes narrowing at the one launching wind at him. Seeing as the enemy has been to the right of him before, him moving to the left gave him more of a distance, thus he would have more time to react before the attack reached him.

''If that is all you can do, then go ahead and burn in hell.''

Placing his hand on the ground, he would create a half ring of burning hot fire around himself, that seemed to have a violet coloring. The dancing flames would reach upwards about 10 meters, and he would send them in a wave that would cover around 15 meters from his current right (where the 1st is) towards his front (the 2nd's position from his perspective), aiming to torch both of them alive if they couldn't get out of the way of its range fast enough. The puny wind attack wouldn't stand a chance against the force, getting swallowed up on its way towards him.

With that done, he would finally stand back up, his gaze momentarily flickering towards Sephtis while his enemies dealt with a dose of BBQ, and he would wave his hand towards the other, casting a buff on him. Not that he cared so much, but they were obviously allies for now, and the better the other did, the sooner would these annoyances get out of his face. Thus, two flies with one hit. Afterwards, he would remain where he was, golden eyes carefully scanning the area for any response. He would rather just set them on fire again, but he couldn't just waste too much energy at once.

While the pair were neither very close or very far from each other it did not change the fact that the heat from the blast Sharaku performed would be able to reach Sephtis and the pair that he fought against. Perhaps he would’ve looked up to see what on earth was happening; however, the pair in front of him had other things in mind as he took a step back to brace for the next attack.

For starters, the one that had been struck by its ally was pissed to no end as it let out a frustrated growl and tossed its head back before swinging it forward again, its mouth wide as it sprayed out a line of fire that stretched out 10 feet before it. To make matters worse, the creature would shake its head side to side to widen the spray to at least 5 feet away from itself on either side, thanks to the way the fire flared and began to eat at the grass around them.

The attack was fast. Faster than the hunter could move. The flames rushed forward like flood waters being unleashed from a dam. Unable to dodge that, the hunter would instinctively let his legs buckle as he lifted his cloak over him and turned away from the blast. Did this really help with the pain that hit him? No…no it did not. The hunter took the blow, felt the burning, and the pain, but after it was all over, the hunter was able to stand once more.

Ignoring the pain and stinging from the burns, Sephtis would swing his cloak downward to blow out the small flames still on it as he narrowed crimson eyes at the fire breather. It seemed to laugh in its own twisted fashion at what it had done. It was going to pay for that. Just as the hunter was thinking that, he felt a surge of power within him making him feel stronger and yet a bit lighter on his feet.

It took a second for his mind to realize Saki had aided him; however, there would be no thanks to be heard for as soon as that happened, the fire breather was ducking to allow its ally (who was behind it) to fire off a blast of ice that came directly towards Sephtis.

Peeved, the hunter didn’t move as he instead held his hand at waist level and made the sign for “come on” with his index finger. As he did this ,a mass of earth would quickly form from the center of the sky blocking the weak ice attack that had been tossed at the hunter as it met the ground. With a wall of about 15 feet high and about 16 feet wide before him, Sephtis would gently tap the wall causing it to crack and then shatter into smaller chunks of earth. These smaller chunks of earth would then launch themselves forward towards the enemy.

Panicked the creature in the front melted into the ground to avoid the flying rocks, but its lovely friend was not so lucky and was smashed by the rocks that came at it. The creature still stood after the beating, but barely as it sagged under its own weight. Not giving it time to recover, Sephtis would push off the ground and move towards the staggering creature. Once he was within range, he would plant his front foot in the ground as he pivoted on it bring his sword around in a horizontal arc to slice into the creature.

While the blade didn’t seem to do physical damage, it did not change the fact that the creature before him gurgled before melting away, defeated. With that one down, his eyes would scan the field to take in who was where in this mess.

“Stats and stuff”:

Meanwhile…

The attack that Sharaku performed earlier would indeed do its job; however, it would only be the one that had tried to strike him physically that paid the price. It couldn’t dodge the raging inferno and so was eaten up by it, its body crackling and popping as it was destroyed and turned into burnt slush. It’s friend however, would not die so easily. Much like its other ally, the creature would shift into a puddle and move away from the attack. When it reformed, it would appear just outside of the blast radius of Sharaku's fire.

Grumbling the creature would pause as it saw another one of its allies go down. At first the creature thought it was alone, but found relief when the last of the group reformed in a spot directly parallel of its own position. Figuring they would be quite weak on their own, the creature would lift its arms to the sky and began to chant. As it chanted, it would start glowing a light orange color as the other further away became limp in its spot….

((Forgotten Note: Chant is a special skill specific to these creatures.))

While he did partially keep a track of what the other was doing, he didn't seem to be too bothered by at as long as there was no interference with what he was doing. There was no point in analyzing what Septhis was doing when the effects of that particular squabble did not affect him greatly. Maybe those things should have considered trapping them somehow, rather than giving them a free reign the way they wished. Like this, they didn't even really have to work together to get it done, and it was certainly easier. Afterall, they weren't partners, so teamwork would be harder for them to accomplish had they been forced to rely on that.

''Your skill doesn't seem to live up to your boldness. I wonder why am I even bothering with emptyheads like you.''

It was hard to tell what was on his mind, but it seemed that he was taunting them in some way. Maybe they would put up a better fight if he pissed them off, because this was becoming boring. Had he known, he probably would have taken a different approach to the whole situation. Although, he could commend that one managed to escape being grilled. But it seemed more like a cheap trick than actual intelligent dodging. Hm. To the ground, right? Well, he could deal with that. Changing your shape won't let you get away from everything.

It wasn't clear whether he was paying mind to the one that moved closer, but he didn't particularly care in any case. They would go down, whether together or one by one. Besides, was moving close to each other even smart? They were just giving him an opportunity to cook them at the same time, without having to spread his range too much. And he sure didn't intend to wait and listen to some praying, or whatever that was. He would create another bout of fire in their direction, but this time around in the form of a large burning wave that would be around 15 meters wide. It would attempt to slam over them like a fiery tsunami, to basically flatten them into the ground with burning fire. He wasn't sure what was it that they used to dodge, but he figured they were just changing shape to duck. Thus, he would just burn everything, even the ground they stood on. There was nowehere to go unless they could get away from the range, or jump over 10 meters to get over it.

Let's see how they deal with that.
