| The experience of going to school was alien to Cadmus.
He'd read up on the phenomenon before, thanks to the texts provided by his handler. According to the data, young humans were supposed to go to institutions in order to learn skills for adulthood. They often wore uniforms to distinguish themselves and stayed at the institution from morning till evening. It was a common tradtion which only the poor or the eccentric did not participate in, and had its own set of rules, rites and social mores. By the time Cadmus had finished digesting all the information, he felt had a good grasp of what school was about.
However, reading about the practice and actually living it were two different things.
Right now, Cadmus had disembarked from the school transport and was now heading towards the school with several other students. He all but ignored them, his attention focused on the slushy white substance on either side of his path. The data banks identified this as "snow": he acknowledged this, allowing the medley of associated images-- snowmen, winter, sleds, Christmas-- to pass through his head. He had a feeling they would all make sense with more experience.
Several flakes of "snow" were falling from the sky as he walked. A few of them touched his face. He froze, surprised at the tingling sensation they left behind.
This, too, was new to him.
Ignoring the stares of curious passers-by, he followed the path into the school itself. The corridors were painted white, with clear blue windows providing a view outside. In the distance, he could make out groups of gnarled black shapes stabbing at the sky like forked lightning. Winter meant bare trees, the data banks explained.
From the data he'd imbibed, he knew somewhere on this floor was a billboard with the lists of classes and their corresponding rooms. Cadmus set off in search of this list, following the larger knots of students for as long as he could until he found himself at a gaggle of people crowding around a nearby wall.
Well, this must be it, Cadmus thought. I had better see which class I am assigned to.

| It was a bright and glorious day at Kizuna Academy. If you looked past the snow and gray sky, there would have been sun underneath it, at least. It was good to be optimistic every once in a while. Genji would make his way into the school without incident or having to worry about bullied students or other delinquents. He wondered if there was anything to do today with Student Council. The Student Council seemed to be one large mess as of late, but Genji had to take it in stride. It was stressful, but he couldn't let all of this hold him back.
In the midst of all of the chaos in his mind. Genji's hawk eyes picked up a student in need. Well, "hawk eyes" wasn't a great phrase to use. But in Genji's case, he can pick up the trail of a student in need in the same hallway, in a large group of people. Was this training from Student Council or from his will to help others? Maybe both. Genji would walk over to the student in need and put on his friendly face. If he had evil intentions, (Which he doesn't!) he would be so good at hiding it.
"You seem to be a new student here, my name is Kano Genji. If you need help with your classes, I can help you out. If not, it's fine, you just looked like you needed a little help. Being on Student Council does that to you, it makes it seem like everyone needs help."
Genji enjoyed helping new students out, he wondered if this one would actually need help or not. He didn't seem to have much emotion. It was like he was just staring blankly at the wall. Genji isn't one to judge, but he rarely came across students like him.

| Cadmus turned around, comng face-to-face with a freckled young man. His gaze alighted on the orange band around his arm, with an unfamiliar insignia marked on it. According to his studies, it was most likely the symbol of the Student Council for this school.
"Correct," Cadmus said. "I am Cad--" He stopped, catching himself before he could say "Cadmus". "I mean, my name is Katsunori Yamada. Pleasure to make your acquaintance." He bowed to show his respect. "And yes, I would appreciate your help."

| Genji was glad that the confused looking student wanted his help. It seemed to be one of the things that kept him going. It helped him forget about his ability as a User. Yet, even as a User, he would be a rather helpful person. It was almost as if it was etched into his personality.
The student would bow to Genji. He was certainly polite. Genji was happy that he could help the student, but he had no idea what he needed help with. He could have connected it to the board of classes, but he's kind of dumb, so it wasn't that obvious. He had hawk eyes when it came to those in need, he could do a great investigation, he worked hard, but intelligence wasn't his strong point. Genji would ask Yamada what he needed help with.
"I'd be happy to help, Yamada-san, what do you need help with?"

| "For starters," Cadmus said, "I wish to find my class." He pointed to the mass of people, where a few had parted to reveal just what it was they were looking at. He strode through the space and scanned the papers hanging off the billboard. Among the list of names for Class 1-A was the name Katsunori Yamada.
That done, he turned back to Genji. "And a tour of the premises would be nice, if time permits."

| The young first year gave the magic words to Genji. Genji was happy that Yamada found his class by himself. At least he wasn't totally clueless. Not that Genji would be sad if Yamada was clueless. He would help him as much as he needed to, but when Genji heard those words, a big smile appeared across his face. Of course he would give Yamada a tour. He just needed to know where to go first. Today was going to be a first day.
"Don't worry about time, Yamada-san, I'll be able to make sure that we don't have to worry about time. I can get passes, we can miss our classes and not get into any trouble. So now that it's settled. What would you like to go first? There are a lot of places in the school, so I'm sure that there is some place that interests you."
He wondered where Yamada would want to go first, but Genji wouldn't be surprised if Yamada didn't have a preference. Almost all of the tours that he has given either made him decide first or gave him a stupid option, like going into the girl's bathroom. He figured that Yamada wouldn't be like Katsu!, no one could be that bad.

| Cadmus nodded. This young man was getting to the heart of the matter quite quickly, he observed. As he had no data on the school's layout, it would be wisest to have him lead the way.
"I'd like a general overview of the school," he said. "Kindly lead the way."

| ""Let's take you around the the first floor, then. This is where you'll spend the most of you time in classes," Genji would say as he started the tour. He would walk the fellow student to the first year classrooms, making small chat with him and giving him facts all the way there. "So when did you move to Ueitawa and what made you decide on coming to Kizuna. Also, what class are you in? I can let you look into the classroom before the class starts."
There was much to see and do, but Genji was experienced in this kind of stuff. He was always roped into giving a tour to a new student, but he never found it to be a bad thing. He actually enjoyed it. Maybe it was because he was going to be out of here by the time Spring comes around. He honestly didn't know. He was happy here, though. Maybe he didn't want to leave just yet. But at least he was going to a college in Ueitawa, so he can still talk to the friends he made outside of school. Maybe he can get a part time job here as a teacher or something. Genji didn't quite know what he was going to do with his life yet, but he did know that he needed to be connected to this school as long as Limbo was a threat. He just needed to make more connecions to people, so he could enjoy these last few months.
Genji would wait for the odd student to give his answers, so he could continue the tour. He hoped that he would be in Class 1-A one of his favorite teachers, along with a few friends were in that classroom. He could make sure that Yamada was welcomed fast.

| "Affirmative," Katsunori said, and followed his guide, who seemed almost giddy with excitement. He didn't quite understand this emotional reaction, yet something in his programming told him to regard it as a good sign.
Right now, though, Katsunori's guide was asking him some questions. From the looks of it, he wanted to know more about the new student.
"I arrived here only a few months past," he said. "My mother wanted me to attend the best school in the area." Or the only school, he thought, letting enough time pass by before speaking up again. "I happen to be in class 1-A, in case you were wondering."

| Genji would listen to the new student's answers. The "affirmative" caught him off guard slightly, but he let it slide without questioning it. He was glad that he was in 1-A. He would be able to tell him about the awesomeness of Nola Shepard, the best teacher ever. She was his favorite teacher. He always loved telling people how great of a teacher she is.
He would walk the new student to 1-A, open the door, and show him around the classroom. "This will be your homeroom," he began. "Your teacher will be the lovely Shepard Nola-sensei. You will like her a lot. I know that I sure did when I was in her class." Genji would go on and on about his memories a little, but it wasn't really anything important. He just wanted to make sure that Yamada would feel at home here. He probably would, she does a good job at it.
"Okay, now that we are all ready to go to the next part of the tour, any questions before we leave," Genji would ask the new student. Maybe he was the curious type?
