| ASW-063: "Cadmus" "This unit wishes to inquire: Does this unit possess a soul?"
The Biography
|
Birth Name: Spartoi-class Anti-Shadow Weapon, Unit 063 Aliases: "Cadmus", Katsunori Yamada Gender: Male Age: 4 months, appears to be 18 years old Birth Day: August 1, 16:45:32 Arcana: VII: Chariot [+15% to physical skills, +15% defense vs. Slash skills] Place of Residence: School dorms for the time being School Year: 1st year Class: 1-A
After School Club: None
Part Time Job: None
Appearance: Cadmus's appearance is that of a young boy, around 18 years old, with messy blond hair and blue eyes. His face is impressively lifelike, able to take on different emotions without falling into the uncanny valley: most of the time, however, it is typically expressionless, which may be a bit off-putting.
Beneath his clothes, Cadmus' body is clad in black-and-white plating, with gold ornamentation around the high collar and the upper portion of his chest. His shoulders and knees are armored, though when not out on missions he typically leaves those parts off.
(See here, ignore the guns) (FC: Chung from Elsword)
Personality:
A quick look at Cadmus creates the impression that he is a complete stoic. He speaks with a calm, patient tone, uses a rather formal tone of speech and seldom changes expressions from the default one he has. He pays attention to the people around him, but he seems to look at them as if they were things to be studied and dissected. On occasion, he talks of himself in the third person, referring to himself as "this unit".
Despite this, Cadmus comes off as polite and well-behaved, if a bit creepy. He is quick to obey and step in when the situation calls for it, and will not let a human come to harm if he can help it. He is also extremely loyal: earn his trust and he will follow you unto death. The only time this facade slips is when Cadmus is facing Shadows. Against them, Cadmus is ruthlessly efficient, showing no mercy until all threats have been eliminated.

The Potential
|
Strengths: (Anything your character is skilled in, such as Martial Arts/ Drawing/ etc? You are allowed a maximum of five strengths and a minimum of three.)
—Body of Steel —Description: Cadmus' body is mechanical and clad in armor, which means he is capable of taking amounts of punishment that would cripple or kill a human.
—Cybernetic Power —Description: Cadmus's mechanical body gives him strength four times that of a normal human being as well as substantial speed boosts.
—Advanced Artificial Intelligence —Description: Being a robot, Cadmus is capable of advanced feats of cognition. He is able to retain and access huge amounts of information, and possesses highly advanced mathematical and geometric skills which can come in handy in battle.
—Jet Boosters —Description: Cadmus has two rocket boosters stowed in the his legs and the upper half of his back. They allow Cadmus to approach a target quickly.
Weaknesses:
—No Social Skils —Description: While Cadmus is programmed to act like a human, it is imperfect. Cadmus tends to miss the more nuanced parts of human interaction, such as romance and tact. As such, Cadmus often comes off as weird or creepy.
—Three Laws Compliant —Description: Cadmus is incapable of causing harm to a human or having a human come to harm via inaction. This means that he is not authorized to attack humans except in self-defense. Shadows are exempt from this consideration.
—Limited Battery Life —Description: Despite being a robot, Cadmus cannot keep running forever. He can regain some by eating or drinking, but such gains are negligible compared to the gains from actual rest. Cadmus is only capable of functioning for 48 hours straight before shutting down, which renders him helpless.
—Boosting Is Hard —Description: Cadmus' jet boosters are rather hard to control when on, which means he can't use them save in short, controlled bursts. Else, he would risk crashing into something-- or worse, someone. Prolonged use of these boosters also drains huge quantities of fuel.
Soul Bound Weapon:
Weapon Name: ACCW-110 "TYPE-DaiBuster" Weapon Description: The Android Close Combat Weapon Type 110 is a hammer made of the same alloy Cadmus is made of, with some minor decoration. One end of the hammer ends in a hook-like projection. Weapon Image:

The Background
|
History:
The history of robotics is a long and storied one, filled with spectacular failures and glorious successes. Ever since mankind was able to build a machine, the ides of creating a sentient mechanical being has fascinated people. The difficulty was not in making the machine move obey commands, but in making it able to learn.
Thus, when the researchers who would create Cadmus found the key to making a sentient Anti-Shadow Weapon, they wasted no time in working towards this goal. Each failure of the so-called "Project Spartoi" only served to help refine their product, and this knowledge of the failed machines was implanted in each subsequent prototype.
After many failures, they were finally able to create five working Spartoi units. One of them was Cadmus.
However, some of the Spartoi Project's chief researchers, had begun to fear for the five. The tests the research team were proposing verged into territory that could be considered unethical. In particular, the chief of AI development, Hikari Seito, felt that treating them as mere machines was both morally wrong and unlikely to produce good results. So after miuch argument and a few outright threats, she and her allies were able to convince the rest of the reaearch group to put further development of the Spartoi units' combat capabilities on hold indefinitely, arguing that the machines' AI and its development were bigger concerns. With that done, she spent six months teaching Cadmus the basics of how to be human before flying off with him to Ueitawa.
The catch? The Spartoi Project's researchers are watching Hikari and Cadmus (under the alias of Katsunori Yamada), hoping to gain valuable data from their experiences.

| You say it burns fuel, but it's not like there is a place where you put how much fuel there is in the beginning. So that part of the weakness is pointless. But it would be approved either way. | |
