Persona's Arcana: VII: The Chariot
Owner: ASW-063 "Cadmus"
Persona Appearance:
At eight feet tall, Jagganath is a formidable figure clad in armor colored crimson and black, decorated with gold trim. Two bulls' heads adorn its shoulders as pauldrons, and wheel-like shields are strapped to its forearms. In its right hand, Jagganath holds a mace.

Persona Background: Jagganath, the "Lord of the World", is an aspect of the god Vishnu or his avatar Krishna worshiped by Hindu sects in India and Bangladesh. Originally a tribal god, he was integrated into the Hindu pantheon as a form of Vishnu with some saying he is an avatar of Vishnu, and others saying that he is the source of all of Vishnu's avatars.
The most prominent festival of Jagganath is Ratha-Yatra, where three carts bearing effigies of Jagganath and his two siblings are pulled through the streets of Puri in a procession. There have been stories of fanatical devotees throwing themselves under these carts, though these accounts are of dubious veracity. Nonetheless, these stories gave rise to the English word "juggernaut": an unstoppable force that crushes everything in its path.
Persona Meaning:
Jagganath s not merely a single god, but a god formed from hundreds of various bits and pieces. This is symbolic of Cadmus himself, whose very self is built bit by bit as he takes part in life.
The Chariot arcana is symbolic of two forces being harnessed harmoniously and of triumph over the self. Cadmus' current challenge is to grow beyond his programming and gain a self, uniting the human and the artificial as one.
