"As a last ditch effort... I'll take yer bodies with me to the world of the dead!"

The markings on the floor lit up brightly, before they emanated a powerful heat and began rising from the floor, like a multitude of red strings all lifting up, before dispersing quickly and seamlessly, slashing at those around the machine and sending them out with great force. The attack was launched at waist length, spanning the entirety of the field before them, and took a single second to launch, they would have to be extremely lucky or perceptive to avoid this one.

Kalyan was launched back right into the barrier by the machine's attack, his chest now covered in something akin to blood, as would the others' bodies be. He breathed heavily, still grasping his hand around the Monado and struggling to get up...

The blade glowed brightly once more, a new symbol appearing on it, while a question resounded in Danielle's and his mind.

"Do you wish to know the truth? If so, stand up. Keep fighting. This is not the end."

The blonde young man grit his teeth, looking at his friend, then back at the machine. "Dani... stay back... I'll, I'll drive it off!" He glared up at Metal Face, growling. "You monster! I won't let you lay a hand on them any longer! I... I..."

Monado Passive:

The young man stood up clearly, dashing towards the machine, before attempting to jump on its arm. "Dani, give me a distraction! I have a plan! Just attack with all you've got!" Kalyan shouted out to his friend, hoping that she could listen to him on this. He knew what to do, but he needed her help-- no, their help! They all contributed, they all helped, there was only one thing left to do, or else he would disappoint them... disappoint everyone.

Danielle slowly got back up on her feet after hearing a familiar voice inside her head. Filled with determination, she nodded in response to Kalyan. "Yeah! This thing has overstayed it's welcome. Ljósálfar!" She said, pulling the trigger on her evoker once more... He needed a distraction, yes? She would provide... The elf would rise up in the air briefly before evoking a small, yet intense whirl of wind, kicking up debris from the fallen ferris wheel at the machine's face, covering it's eyes for a brief moment. She would attempt to hold these pieces of scrap metal there long enough for Kalyan to do his thing. That's all she needed to do. "NOW!"

The attack that robot did. Took Diana down, she is all helpless now if somebody didn't revived her. "Ughh" she dropped into the ground and her systems shutted down.

SYSTEM ERROR!

Gemini huffed after their previous attack, silently grinning at their triumph over the metalic beast. Though, it seemed the pressure they had applied triggered the attack it was charging. It took no more than a few seconds for the attack to strike both Gemini in the stomach, sending them flying backwards. They gasped as they hit the ground, their vision blurring as the pain resounded within their minds. It hurt, to say the least. But before the two passed out, they saw the two stand. They'd be fine... It was time for the true stars of this story to shine.

"Go go go... We're... Fine..." "Just... don't let him kill us... Understood...?"

The two couldn't hold on to consciousness any longer. Darkness surrounded them and silence rang in their ears. It was time to see what would happen.

Metal Face only glanced at Kalyan as he tried to jump up towards his arm, and, in response, the machine swung it wide, knocking him clear away from the scene so he could have another go at being smashed into an impenetrable wall. Just as well, when Danielle attempted her little wind demonstration, the machine stuck its claw out, and various pillars of rock emerged to block the debris and the wind. The machine staggered, and started to laugh in a low voice.

"You think I'd let you make it? Hah... hahahahahaHAHAHAHA! Pitiful girl! I'll rip you into pieces like those other kids!"

A feeling of dread permeates the area...

"Now, DIE!"

A giant claw came for Danielle, blasting through the dirt and right through her... determination wasn't enough to win this battle. The claws were wide, running at least five meters to either side of Danielle, and were coming at her with the speed and power of a freight train, rushing madly through the air.

For a moment, all seemed to go blank. And then, a flash of blue, stepping in front of the Wild Card, a blade of energy clashing against the powerful claw and holding it at bay.

"I won't... I won't let you..."

The blonde young man breathed heavily, before swinging his sword to knock the claw away. Using this time, Kalyan extended his blade and ran forward, taking advantage of the distraction to now successfully jump up onto the machine's arm.

The Monado slashed clean through the face of the machine, causing him to stagger back and fall to his knees, Kalyan also falling off and to the ground, heavily bruised from the knock he had just received.

"You... son of a..." For a brief moment, the machine seemed to growl and glare at the young man, staring in disbelief at the sword of light he held. "I... WILL come for you, Monado Boy!" Metal Face attempted to get up, only for a flash of green to appear behind him, a large metallic hand reaching from a sort of abyss and pulling him with great strength into it... for whatever the reason, the machine disappeared into the light, and it faded, along with the green barrier surrounding them.

Everything seemed to move in slow motion as the Machine countered her attacks with ease... Why did it have to end this way...? She just wanted to... She closed her eyes, waiting for her impending demise...

...But fate had other things in store for her.

Before the claw made contact with Danielle, Kalyan had stepped in the way, taking the whole hit for her... "Kalyan... You..." Was all she could manage to say in her shocked state. So much for being a leader... Well, at least her attack did it's job, pulling the robot's attention from Kalyan, so he could deal the final blow. How he had been able to withstand such an attack and still be able to retaliate was beyond her, but she was thankful for it... "KALYAN!" Danielle screamed, as she got back up on her feet, running over to her wounded friend. "Hang in there... Please..." She said with a shaky voice, looking at him with worry in her eyes... He was her best friend... If he died now... No! "ANYONE! PLEASE! WE HAVE WOUNDED PEOPLE OVER HERE!" She called out in desparation... No way she could tend to everyone here all alone... Danielle needed help, and quick... Her heart was racing... Her breathing quick... That she had survived that was a miracle in and of itself... At least there were nothing more around here that could harm them. If there was anything left, she'd destroy it without a second thought. No one dared hurting these people on her watch.

"I-is it over?"That's the first thing Kira said once she regained consciousness, she thought she was going to die after that attack, Metal Face unleashed an attack that knocked everybody out... or that's what she saw. Everything happened so fast, but at least she is alive and well"...You worried me."The weapon would speak to the girl in their usual monotone voice"I'm... not going to die yet..."She paused a few times during her speech to catch some breath, she was so tired and weak she barely could speak. Yet, somehow she was able to at least sit on the ground.

Both Gemini would slowly wake up, 'War' standing before 'Peace' as they huffed in obvious pain. They hadn't expected to battle so soon, let alone in such a crucial awakening. Was there something odd going on in the Velvet Room? Or was Philemon and Igor really being that lax? It was hard to tell, especially in the duo's state. 'Peace' leaned against 'War,' the latter putting on a strong face even though standing was obviously over exerting her body. The two didn't wish to sit though... They had places to be, after all.

"... You all did well... Now we should... Possibly fine out what's going on..." 'Peace' said with a huff, speaking for her sister in the current point of time. Though, the two doubted anyone would be near by... And if this colony had a government, being taken in by them wouldn't exactly be wise. Regardless of what happened, Gemini would rather like avoiding being away from the Velvet Room.

"... Our name is Gemini, by the by. It seems introductions weren't feasible during the battle, after all." 'Peace' said with a gentle nod, glancing towards the special one. She had held up well in the thick of battle. Her and the sword boy made quite the team. They'd go far together if they stayed allies. Regardless, the two would silently sigh as they strained themselves, 'Peace
s' legs quavering lightly as she forced herself to stand. Even with leaning against 'War,' it was still quite hard to stand.

SYSTEM REBOOTING...

Slowly, Diana's system are refreshing and is starting to work properly now despite how hard the attack hitted her. She stood up and discovered that the battle is already over. It would be very unfortunate for her to die right now, she still needs to discover everything about the humans and Erisia Dysnomia. "Thank goodness..." she was relieved to see that everything is now okay. Metal Face is gone now and the Maiden is now safe with Haruo. Diana knows that Lady Lux will be safe. She can rest easy but she got allies wounded.

It was the sword boy! the girl with the bow seems to be holding okay despite her injuries. She ran into them to know what's going. "What's going on? Is he unconscious?" she asked as she ran to them. She then crouched down to take a closer look at Kalyan. She placed her hand on Kalyan's forehead, he is still warm and Diana can still feel signs of life. "Don't worry, he will be okay. He is just 'sleeping'. Help will come soon too" she said to Danielle, who seems to be very worried about the sword boy. She was smiling while saying that despite the half of her face was ripped off. She can let Dr. Mysterio fix this later.

Kalyan rolled over to his side, catching his breath. That... was a real thrill. He opened his eyes slowly just to see someone checking his vitals.

"Look, I'm not dead yet, don't go makin' a big fuss for me." He chuckled with a smirk, before looking around and letting out a sigh of relief. "It's over... it's gone. I can't believe we got through that. All of you, you were exceptional, that power of yours is incredible...!" The blonde young man was genuinely impressed, as his smile showed, and though he was smacked pretty badly, he didn't seem completely hurt. Maybe a few fractures, a twisted ankle, even a few cuts here and there, but there was nothing on him that would hinder him forever.

But from the distance, a single siren was heard, alongside a mechanical whir from the top of the castle. Danielle, the only one here in the military, would recognize it immediately as the barrier restart siren, which she would have been taught about during her training. Alongside that, there were a number of people, dressed in traditional body armor, running towards them, presumably from Danielle's call.

"H-hey, over here! I found people!" A total of five soldiers surrounded the group, two of them carrying medical equipment. They split, one moving towards Kalyan, while the other approached Kira. "Are you all okay? We got tipped by a green-haired woman, said there were five people here in need of assistance... err, I guess she meant six?" He blinked, grasping a transceiver from his pocket and speaking into it. "Civilians secured; eye report says two badly injured, or apparently badly injured. We'll perform the diagnosis here and determine if they will be brought to a hospital, over." After saying that, the guard backed off from the area to continue his conversation, while another one, a female, spoke up.

"You guys will be just fine. There's only one area that needs to be cleared of Sfalma in the city now. Please stay calm, alright?" Naturally, they were allowed to report that to make sure the masses didn't panic, but who knew? There was still no report on Lux's condition, or at least, there didn't seem to be anything concrete...

"Oh! You're awake! Thank heavens!" Danielle knelt down next to her friend, with a sigh of relief. "T-Thanks for saving me back there... I don't think I would've made it out alive if it wasn't for you..." She said with a timid smile, before turning her attention to the others. "Thanks for all of your help protecting the colony... really." An approving smile made it's way across her face. "Heh... Kalyan, I'm impressed. For a scientist, you sure acted alot like a soldier today." She would then turn to face the twins. "I guess... The name's Danielle Brooks." She said with a smile, as she walked over to 'Peace', supporting her a bit. Seeing how her legs were quivering... "Thanks for the help... I really appreciate it."

Once she heard the sirens off in the distance, she spoke up again. "Heh... They are restarting the barriers... Nothing more should come here to harm us in a good while..." But why had they failed to begin with? Did someone slack on the job? Or was there someone who had purposefully shut them off? She made a mental note of this before she heard footsteps closing in on them. "Oh. I guess Lumen sent us help. That's nice."

"Any news on Lux?" She asked her future colleague, with a worried look. She had been dragged away by that other machine... Hopefully they were still on the colony...

"Thank goodness..." Diana let out a sigh of relief as the soldiers came in to the scene. Everything is all play now especially that the barriers are now restored. "Protecting the colony is my purpose in this world so it's nothing at all" she replied to Danielle and Kalyan who thanked them from defeating the Metal Face. There is nothing much for Diana to do now so she just watched and wait for whatever might happen.

"I'm fine... i just need some rest..."She told the soldier who had come to give her aid"...I don't trust them."The weapon murmured, that behavior pissed Kira Kira off sometimes, they acted like a possessive boyfriend, she understood why they did it but she couldn't help but get annoyed.

Once Kira Kira was feeling well enough she'd stand up and walk towards the group"Glad to see you're okay, Dani."She then looked at Kalyan and punched him the shoulder in"You're pretty good too, Monado boy."She joked"...But enough with the small talk, we've got to figure out more details about this incident."Since they had no causalities there was no use in sitting around being thankful that they were alive.

'Peace' sighed as she was aided by the special one. The ease helped but both knew they needed to ask what was going on. Though, staying with this group for a short amount of time could be wise. It was hard to tell, but for the moment, Gemini decided to stick around. Though, was it wise to call themselves Gemini? They could say it was just a stage name... They were dressed for the part at the least.

"I'd imagine it'd be wise to meet up with Haruo and the other two, no? They have Lumen and the Lady Lux with them... Maybe they know what's going on?" 'Peace' chimed in, glancing towards the medics. She found it funny they didn't receive any medical analysis... Was standing a sign of perfect health in this world? Possibly... Who know?

"Yah... I'm with Peace... If we want to find out what's going on, those two seem to be the one's that'll know the most." 'War' said with a nod of her head, speaking up for the first time after the battle. It wasn't easy to speak, buts he wanted to voice her opinion as well.

Though, what interested the pair the most was that spell that was cast on the robot. It hadn't came from anyone on their team... So what was it? Was someone hiding around here? The man with the machine said something interesting. 'War' would let 'Peace' lean against Dani and walk towards the man with the transceiver. If it was a device to analyze people... Then it could be used to find that person...

"Excuse me, um, sir? Hey, does your doohickey see a seventh person? There was a skill used in battle that none of us here had access too... It weakened the robot's defenses and it aided us... So, do you see anyone here? Maybe they're in the sky? Or in the ground? Or... Somewhere around here?" 'War' asked as she did a small, stumbley spin. She balanced herself before smiling, trying to peak at the transceiver in the process. There was something odd about that... Who was it that helped them?

"Lumen...? Y-you mean the Captain was here?! Um, no, she wasn't the one that sent us, it was a short woman with curly green hair. She didn't tell us her name, anyway." The soldier put away his transceiver after he had finished talking. He seemed surprised, why would she, of all people, be here? Well, maybe it wasn't that big of a deal, considering how well-known her ties to Lux were in the army. "Hey, aren't you in the army? I thought you of all people would know, I've seen you around quite a bit. Don't refer to our General as just 'Lumen', that's disrespectful!" He sighed, a bit aggravated, but shook his head. It was a negligible offense, so it didn't matter.

"Easy there, Dani's still, argh... a bit tired, I'm sure. Please forgive her thoughtlessness here." Kalyan got up slowly, dismissing the medic that had come for him. He seemed fine to her, at least. "Nevertheless, could I count on you to escort us to our homes? I'm sorry to say, but I'm not eager to believe every single Sfalma has been eradicated, not from what I have observed from the walls. That isn't to say you were lying to us, but no-one can ever know for sure how dangerous it currently is." Although, Kalyan stopped talking as War went over towards the guard and asked him a question. Both looked at her oddly.

"Um, what are you talking about? You've never seen a walkie-talkie or something? This is just to speak back and forth between us, nothing more." The man scratched his chin, then sighed. "If it makes you feel better, we evacuated the area as soon as the machine appeared. There was no-one around to interfere. I'm not sure if you all noticed, but a few shots we sent towards the machine were stopped cleanly by the barrier, there was simply no way to get past it." But Kalyan raised an eyebrow there. He didn't remember shots being fired... in fact, he didn't remember anything moving outside the barrier. Just a presence and the machine being weakened suddenly. What was going on there...?

"Anyway, if you're done asking questions, we'll be escorting you right now. You're right, um, kid, whatever your name is, we can't guarantee everything has been fully exterminated. Now, if you'd allow us?" The soldiers, hearing that, lifted their weapons so they would be ready to get into a firing position. Naturally, they weren't pointing it at them, simply taking a security measure in case of sudden attack. Regardless of whether they complied or not, the remaining ones around the area would help up any that seemed injured, and lead them in a single direct, with the soldier that was so far calling the shots standing front and center. If they tried to deviate, naturally, the soldiers would assure them to stay in track. They were military, after all, and their badges showed just that. Even Danielle could recognize some faces from the barracks.
