"Hey there. You and Simon cool to meet with me today?"

It was the second call he gave to Rinna. A day after the whole debacle of putting down Ananke and after Joshua actually joining with Rinna's goal of taking down all that is not human. Even so, he wasn't quite sure if he was making the right choice. Though at the least he knew it was the best choice he had compared to everything else.

Joshua wasn't really keen on having some Angel put on some kind of "blessing" on him. It would be something that would make it hard to sleep at night. So right now, at least given his feeble strength, joining a group of other Persona Users would be a wiser choice.

He was waiting at a small cafe where it was decided where Rinna and maybe Simon would meet. Joshua would wait at a table. He had some goals to meet. To meet who the head of Rinna's group and to know more about this leader. And everything else... it'd be something he'd have to worry about when it comes up.

And so he waited with a cup of coffee in hand.

It would be a short bit of time before two people walked through the doors, one of which was Rinna, while the other was an older man with glasses and grey hair. Rinna nodded when confirming Joshua's presence. "There you are. Hey," she said, as the two sat at his table. "So, this is Simon. My friend. He's been around since the beginning, and he knows alot about what's going on and a way to stop it." She said, giving him the floor.

Simon nodded. "Thanks for helping out. Rinna told me about what you did. Anyone that has the courage to stand despite their strength is respectable. Even if you aren't for stopping both the Angels and Primordials, what you did prevented the islands from being ruined even more than they already were." He adjusted his glasses, before pursing his lips. He looked a little bruised in the face. "Well, I take it you know a few things about this. If you wanted to help us out, we can certainly do that for you. Did you need to know anything in particular?"

"Hey there. Good to see you two."

And so they were here. Joshua gave them a wave and a nod to acknowledge their arrival. He was more interested at the man next to her. Clearly he had to be Simon, and this was soon verified. The teen examined him. He had a bookish appearance to him, nothing seemingly special. But clearly he had to be if he got someone like Rinna under him.

"Don't thank me. Thank the dumb adrenaline in my veins. But for better or worse, I guess we have one less thing to worry about..." Joshua began with crossed arms with the coffee steaming in front of him, "Well, to be honest, I still feel like I know nothing about this place and this whole thing. Since y'know, the more I know, the more questions pop up. That sort of annoying thing."

Things just don't stop getting more complicated for Joshua. There is always questions to be asked and some to be answered. But for those answered, more questions are birthed. It's an annoying cycle. And he's never even sure if he was right in his knowledge either.

"But y'know. I was thinking of joining you guys, if that's alright with you. I'm not exactly keen on this whole supernatural stuff, which I'm sure Rinna at least gave you some idea."

He paused to glance back at Simon's partner before continuing, "This whole thing isn't exactly great with the common human sanity, I'm sure you can tell with people shitting their collective panties throughout this whole ordeal. So I'm at least sure I share the whole goal, of ending this whole Primordial and Angel shit, with you guys."

That's what Simon's all about. Right? Would he actually let him join the group? Well, that's for Joshua to find out.

"That said, I want to know your perspective of the Angels from you. The voices from the grapevine say you used to be an Angel. So, you cool with letting me know what you know about them? All I know is that they have some kind of goal of their own to realize and stuff."

"She said as much. She also told me you're a dumbass? I-In any event, don't worry about it. She's kind of a walking time bomb," he said, before Rinna glared at him, which seemed to upset Simon with the way he lifted his arms. "Hey I'm safe from your wrath too I hope." Simon looked then to Joshua after regaining composure.

"Jeez, word goes around fast. Well you're not wrong. I did used to be an Angel. After surviving something I'd rather not talk about, I became one, and watched over Humans. Long story short, I disagreed that they should challenge Humans while a cosmic war with Primordials was going on, and in a sort of aggressive manner, I abandoned them and came down here, shrugging off the majority of my powers as an Angel. They want to see where Humanity wants to go, however they want to drag us into their battle with the Primordials and enlist our help. Think of it as them using humans to kill two birds with one stone, then essentially forcing a conflict upon us to turn Humans to each other to see which Humans can bring their 'Wish' forward. They certainly don't like me meddling with them since I can eliminate them, AND I have a way to prevent this from ever happening again even if we fail to get rid of them all. Any questions?"

Dumbass? Joshua glanced back at Rinna with a frown. Well, he won't really argue against that. Since he jumped into the fray without even a bit of familiarity with his Persona capabilities. Even though it was really getting annoying to hear it come up these days. So he really didn't care as much now. There was bigger fish to fry. Though...

"Walking time bomb? Nah, I think she's more like a chihuahua," Joshua smirked at her, "Angry, but cute."

Worth it.

He leaned back in his seat and started to sip at his warm coffee while listening to the bespectacled Simon relate his story out to him. And apparently the ex-Angel does have some kind of plan. But what was it? Regardless, the Angels don't seem to be doing things right for the sake of Humanity. There is a whole lot wrong with having them fight their battles.

"Yeah, a couple," Joshua replied with the coffee cup set back onto the table, "If you were made an Angel, then I'm assuming the rest used to be human? Your story seems to suggest this. On top of that, the Angels have their own wish. Then what was yours, Mr. Simon? If you don't mind me asking?"

Him quitting the Angels was good and all, but fighting them for the sake of Humanity? To Joshua, it does seem as if something is off to be true at the least, especially when this guy used to be an Angel.

"I seem to remember something happened in the stadium, considering I've seen Rinna check back on her phone a couple of times. I suppose that was you giving her the messages? So what happened in the stadium?"

When Rinna caught his comment, she fumed, and turned red. "You're on my list now. Congratulations. I will burn you alive." She glared with an almost white hot intensity, nearly ready to grab at him before Simon chuckled nervously. "In any event. She's kind of like one of those snapdragon fireworks. They hurt like hell if you mishandl-Oof!" Simon winced, though it was not sure how because above the table, he didn't seem to be hurt, though he did reach for his foot with one arm, before returning his pained eyes back to Joshua. "Actually no. Those Angels were born of a cosmic creation long ago, by some kind of force even I can't understand. And no, I never had a Wish of my own. I left them before this began because I didn't agree with their idea of it all." He told him everything he asked about. There was more to it, but the creation of the Angels hardly mattered in the grand scheme of things.

"What happened in the stadium was not fun..." he grabbed at his cheek towards a dark bruise he had. After which, he went over the events of what happened, mentioning the absence of a Primordial that used to be there, along with what was there now, including mentioning a friend named Ariston Rhodes, that he had to save though was now in alot of pain and recovering from his heavy wounds. Rinna frowned when he went over it. She heard it before, but she and Ariston had a history, and to know he was hurt and did not take her with him bothered her. She hated the man for it in a way.

"I'd like to see you try, Chihuahua," Joshua chuckled at her reaction, though he did seem apologetic to see Simon being a scapegoat for her being flustered.

"So he had no Wish. Weird. So what's different?" Joshua thought to himself in a contemplative expression.

How odd. Didn't participating in this event meant you needed to have a Wish by aligning with an Angel? Well, it looks like something that he can't dig in deeper yet since Simon did state he wasn't interested in talking about how he became one. So another angle would have to be used.

"By cosmic creation, do you mean the Mother and the Father? I was informed there were such entities around, but I don't understand what they are. But what do you know of them so far?"

The Angels and Primordials, Joshua had some idea about. Though the Mother and Father that Sharaku mentioned? There didn't seem to be any form of information that he could try to look for about them. And Simon seemed to be his best bet really.

Then the events of the stadium was being outlined to Joshua. His face grimaced at the news. So Thesis was gone and no one knew where she is. This wasn't good at all.

"Correct me if I'm wrong. You took the assault on Ananke as an opportunity to also take down Thesis, right? And then you both saw this Egg, right? Since when did you know that Ananke was going to attack the Academy?"

It wouldn't surprise him at all if Simon somehow had some connections that told him where Ananke would strike or perhaps some residual Angel power that probably allowed him to know. Whatever the case it was, it was going to help Joshua to better gauge this enigmatic man.

"Do you have any idea what this... egg is? Is that what Thesis endeavored for?"

"Uhhh, maybe you should not-" "You wanna take this outside Mop Top? Cause trust me, I'll win." She said, drawing a few looks before Simon sighed. "Quiet down. You guys and fight when we are out alright?" he asked, before Rinna sighed heavily and leaned back in the chair. "Basically. The Mother is the first Angel we'll call it. She made the lesser Angels, while the Father was a single entity that came to balance the light that the Mother had, and tainted as much as she purified. You could say Thesis and Ananke were byproducts of this. They aren't really the true Primordial Forces, but they take on those roles based on the powers they are given." Simon paused for a moment to let the notion sink in. Rinna told him he knew very little so he probably needs to take a moment for all of this. "I actually didn't know. Thanks to you telling Rinna, she told me what she knew, and originally I was going to storm the gates, but our other friend went without me because he's a stubborn goat. As for the actual egg.....I'm not sure. Thesis is gone, so perhaps she used herself. Her goal has been to wake up the Father, and corrupting the other worlds that exist isn't going fast enough. So she chose a faster process and took a few chances. She wants to force the Father awake. And I don't want to run the risk that it works."

"Oh I'm sure you'll win," Joshua admitted shamelessly with a shrug, "But your behavior is what warrants you being called like one. But hey, I don't mean it as a bad thing. I just think it's cute, y'know?"

She really needed to calm down and not take things too seriously. That hot-headed nature really is going to give her a hard life, Joshua would gather as he noticed people were looking at her.

"But yeah, sorry. I won't call you that, if you don't like it then."

So the Mother and Father are the polar opposites, interesting. This is information to keep into consideration as the boy nodded while listening to Simon. Though he wasn't surprised that it was his own phone call that prompted Simon's and Ariston's action. So he didn't exactly have any detection abilities.

"So we're not completely sure if Thesis is in the egg or not until we crack it open, huh...? Damn, this is going to be an annoyance."

The uncertainties were bothering him. There's too much that they didn't know and it was a familiar and annoying feeling. There are risks to be made and failure or success to be realized. He's really hating this shit.

"Alright. Then what do you know about Thesis' child? That seems to be another thing that eludes me the most. I take it the kid is on the Azores? If so, what is he or she doing right at this moment?"

Rinna crossed her arms and huffed at him, while Simon continued. "I'd rather take the risk now before Summer ends, than wait for anything to get worse. It's better that way. We can't wait any longer. As for the child...I am certain it's a woman, but I know little else. I only recently figured out they existed from various sources. I left the job to Ariston, but apparently he left the job to someone else. All I know is that they have to be half of Thesis and probably half human. They have to have rooted themselves on the islands for a long time. Maybe whoever they left it to already had clues. I am hoping that will work out, but even if it doesn't, we don't need her."

Joshua nodded at his answer. So there probably isn't any need for worry for the child? Someone's already taking care of it and there's more things to worry about than some spawn. Though there's something odd about how he's mentioning her.

"They? Girl? I'm a bit confused. Who's they? The child? I thought it was only one? And who's in charge of looking for her?"

On the other hand, there's an Egg that's waiting. So the general plan is to take it out soon. Something that Joshua would have to agree. That thing was probably trying to develop quickly and soon. It has to be taken out.

"So you're planning on destroying the Egg soon. Got any plans for that? Last time didn't go so well, right?" he wondered out loud after taking into account that an Ariston was injured from the encounter, especially with a good amount of people dying after trying to storm into the Standansen stadium.

"I only have two more questions," Joshua took one more sip of his coffee, "What exactly is your plan on stopping the Event from occurring once more?"

That was the biggest one of them all. With all these people dying for the cause, it had better be a good plan. Especially if it sounded like a last resort. Though it wouldn't surprise him if he didn't answer Joshua. There's a reason why last resorts are rarely shared.

"So, yeah. Last one, hopefully. Is there room for one more to join your crew, Simon?"

"I left it to him. You'd have to ask him. And no, I said they in case I was wrong about them being a girl. The Egg seems to do this odd thing where it absorbs what you throw at it. I am worried it does something with them. We just have to find a way around that, but we won't get any details until we tackle it, so we have to one way or another." When Joshua asked about his plan, Simon smirked a bit. "What I have planned requires me to get to that tower and stop the Mother after the Father has been taken care of. I can't say all the details yet until it all comes together, but just know that if I get up there and we stop the Mother, we will win. I am at least ninety percent sure it will work," he said, which even drew a look from Rinna. She herself didn't know his plan, for whatever reason. "And you don't have any other goals in mind?" "Why distrust me now? You talked to Ariston right? I literally have no motive to screw you all over. And honestly, I am done with supernatural. I can't stand people like the Angels..." he said, growing a pained face as though he was remembering an old scar he had long ago. He didn't have any idea what to do about them, and they nagged at his soul. The least he could do was pay them back for what they went through.

"Trust me. I have my own reasons alongside yours for keeping out this nonsense. If you're willing to help, by all means, you can either fight the Angels, or preferably storm the gates of the Stadium. Call us up, and we will help you when you need it. Until then, I am gonna try and win others over." Rinna looked at the table, then to Joshua. "You and I can figure out what to do. There's not much time, so we can go fight as soon as you're ready. Bring a team if you have to. As long as we get it done before Mother Dearest decide to be impatient with us."

Joshua's face darkened even more about the egg. Not only could it be an object to call in doom's day, it was also not something that can't be defeated so easily. That egg was clearly the biggest threat right now. The Angels can wait, at least. On the other hand, he now knew that the bespectacled man had plans for the Mother at least.

"Ninety, huh? Well, I suppose that's... good enough," Joshua remarked with clear skepticism. It would've been better to be a hundred percent sure, but that's a luxury at this point.

And clearly even Rinna wasn't sure either, that's some worrying information there. It's surprising that even a close ally like her is ignorant about it. Maybe. Just maybe he would have to go seek out this Ariston. But what's for sure right now is that Simon still brings up some suspicions, despite seemingly being genuine to end all this supernatural stuff going on. Regardless, he would have to trust him for now.

"We'll have to go for the Egg first. Make a fucking omelet out of it. I'll see what I can scrounge up. But no promises, I'm not even sure if those people are willing or available right now. That said, who are our other comrades right now other than Mr. Ariston? It'll be good to get a headcount on who's capable on helping."

"You're looking at em." Rinna said resting her head on her palm. "Not many support us. We have several people that are civilians, but people like you that were involved with the major crisis haven't exactly been interested. Hopefully others will join us or at least fight with us by the end."

He stared at them both. It was a transparent mixture of disbelief and despair. Really? This was it? Not even a whole team at all? What were they even doing?

Joshua took both of his hands and palmed his face, hiding it effectively. This was great. So a girl with the temperament of a chihuahua and a bespectacled ex-angel with a vague and suspicious plan. This is so going to go well. This was so bad that he had to force himself not to laugh. This was just damn disappointing.

"Man, this is great... Just. Great."

But he sighed in resignation. He let one hand rest back to the table and have the other sweep back through his hair to finally rest on the side of his neck.

"Yeah. I'll see what I can do. I think we'll move out soon. I suppose."

"So this is what my grave is going to be like?"
