Winding Down (Rinna)

When Joshua sat in his seat, he couldn't exactly believe what had happened in the Stadium. Or even after when he first got Bedivere as his Persona. It was surreal as all hell and it happened so quickly. Every dangerous scenarios that had occurred seemed to be a mere blur in his mind as he was back into a seemingly normal environment.

The coffee was warm in his hand as he grasped the ceramic cup. He felt tired alright. It was a long day after all. The teen scoffed at the events he had participated in. What a wonder that he was able to survive this long. Was it luck or his own skill or more likely the people that he allied with?

It probably was the first and third for all he cares.

"Hey. Where you at? Wanna hang out with me in the same cafe? I'll be there."

He sent a text towards Rinna just now. Despite this momentary quiet he had, he was feeling a bit lonely. Some small talk here and there would be nice. Though, he did notice there was something off on Rinna back in the Stadium...

A response came from Rinna...

"What is it? I'm busy right now. Unless something else happened today. Did you need something?"

Joshua raised an eyebrow at her response and messaged back.

"Nah, just chilling right now. You dealing with something right now? I can come on over and help you out if you want."

"What? No. It's fine. I am just putting something together for me. Oh, and hello. I guess thanks for being there. You did what you could."

Joshua was at a loss of what else to say. It was feeling pretty awkward. There wasn't a whole lot what he could choose to say. It seemed odd that she was saying hello just now and giving some thanks for what he did, even though his contributions were minimal at best.

"Hey, I know this is going to sound hella retarded, weird, and all. But I saw how you left the Stadium. You alright? I'm there to talk if you need it."

"It's nothing. Everyone was just getting upset, and I wasn't going to be there to see that. It's over now, and he's gone. It sucks, but well it is what it is. I didn't want anyone to make themselves feel worse over it."

Or so she says. Was that it? It was hard to tell behind the LCD screen of a phone. But, he had a small inkling that there was more to it.

"Yeah, it sucks. We were all prepared that one to all of us could die in the process. But it doesn't take away the pain. We just have to learn to move on and hope for the best."

To have someone to have to sacrifice himself for the sake of others was regrettable. But, to defeat such a behemoth like Nesoi, it was necessary. They had to count their blessings, it could've been worse instead. Yet, it was still bittersweet.

"Hey. After this whole Mother shit is over, what are you going to do?"

She had to have some form of normal life before this whole supernatural stuff happened. So he was curious.

"Then, wanna chill out with me after this whole thing? We could hang around Penecia if you want. Or anywhere you'd like."

And she stopped answering...

Joshua could only see his own message was the last one sent. And he waited. The cafe was starting to bustle with people now. But he ignored them as he continued to stare at the phone for a moment and then to the window showcasing the number of city-goers roaming through the streets.

And so he would wait.
