A Walk in the Park
~ Would you help me...? ~

Some time had passed since Mae met up with Sharaku now... A good long while in fact. She was still a bit confused regarding her own feelings for both him and Charles... Of course, she had intended to meet up with him the day after they met at that club, but... things changed. He was forced to stop the corruption on Malstu and Mae... well, she had the mysterious Velvet Door that concerned Julian to deal with that she didn't have much time to focus on her own relationships that much... But she had put this up long enough. So it was with a determined attitude that she sent a text message over to Sharaku, asking if they could meet up in the San Malarus park. Either way, she would make an important decision today... Charles... or Sharaku. In one way shape or form. Of course, she might not confess to him straight away... But she couldn't just sit here being torn either. And Charles, being the stubborn android that he was, had not contacted Mae since. Was that his way of saying he didn't want anything more to do with her? Or was he just not ready yet? Regardless, when the time came, she would need to confront him regardless.

After a short walk, Mae eventually reached the park, and she found herself sitting down on the same bench that she had been sitting on the same day Traeh awakened, right in front of that strange statue. A pretty good location. No one was around, except for her. If Sharaku showed up, he would most likely spot her pretty easily.

Ah, right. Sharaku did remember that evening where Mae asked to meet him later, yes. Too bad for them, the world did decide to mess around quite extensively since then. As a matter of fact, he figured she was most likely busy dealing with something too, in one way or another, so he was a bit surprised she asked him to come over. Luckily, he had nothing immediate to do, so he could do it. Probably far from the 'later' that was planned for back then. But as they say, better late than never, yes? At least they were still alive to even meet up for the matter.

Once he got there, she wasn't even really hard to spot. Then again, pinkish hair was probably hard to miss regardless of other factors. He would walk up to her sitting spot. ''Hi. It's been a while, hasn't it?'' It indeed has, but what can one do? For now though, he would just wait for her response, before doing anything else.

Mae looked up when she heard footsteps closing in, and much to her delight, Sharaku did indeed show up! "Indeed. How're you doing, Sharaku? Well, I hope?" To be honest, Mae had been sort of nervous prior to seeing him here. The last time they met had been interesting in many different ways. Now that Ayane wasn't around, they had a lot of things to discuss... Might as well start, no?

"Well... I guess I should get straight to the point... You remember that I had a boyfriend right?" There was no turning back now. She was commited to this, whether she wanted to or not. "We were dating on the day we saw eachother last time, but well..." Mae paused for a second, trying to keep herself together.

"It couldn't have ended any worse... I got a phone call in the middle of it, and it was a relative of his, telling me that he was deathly ill, and asked me to keep it a secret from my boyfriend... Naturally he started asking what it was all about... And I... I just couldn't bring myself to Lie to him... I just couldn't. And that's where everything... went wrong. He left me in this park without a word, as if he was blaming me for what happened... I don't know... How do I even deal with this?" Mae said with a lost, almost hopeless, expression on her face. "It doesn't feel... like he genuinely loves me." Was Sharaku really the one to talk to about this? Maybe not, but she trusted him...

A Walk in the Park [Sharaku] Empty
PostSubject: Re: A Walk in the Park [Sharaku]   A Walk in the Park [Sharaku] EmptySun Aug 09, 2015 6:31 pm

Ah, the ultimate question of doom. And he never knew how to answer. Was it even correct to say you're doing well within all this mess going on? But he couldn't say he was exactly bad either. He would opt to chuckle slightly. ''As well as one can during times like these.'' That should suffice as an answer. It's not like he could come up with anything better right now.

He would nod at her words. He did, yes. ''I remember, yes.'' Kind of hard not to, when a mention of him even got her upset back then. Not an easy one to forget. That said, he would listen in silence as she went on, explaining. And he would frown. Now that was..kind of more complicated than he expected it to be. Then again? What he had been dealing with in regards to Shun was no simple sail either. Guess that's how it went most of the time. ''...so he left you simply because you chose to be honest? I would have thought something like that would have been appreciated more than lying. In theory, I'd say it's normally worse when you lie...and then later the other side founds out you did.'' That was actually...a bit weird. If she hadn't told him, and he would have found out later...wouldn't it actually be more of a betrayal? Unless he was the one having his principles upside down. Hmm. He would furrow his brows thoughtfully. ''Well, the only way to deal with something you don't understand...is talking to the one who does. Though, I don't understand how it would be fair to blame this on you. It isn't as if you could have caused someone to be ill. It's strange that said relative told you, but didn't want him to know. What was that meant to accomplish...?'', he would trail off, shaking his head. Getting a bit off topic there.

''It's hard to say...I'm not an expert on relationships at all. But...I can't deny that you may be right. Sure, I could understand him being devastated over such news, if we ignored the part of him blaming you for some reason. But if he truly loved you..wouldn't he contact you after he calmed down? Say, did he? It's been a while afterall, if this happened even before our meeting back then.'', he'd inquire afterwards, actually sitting down himself this time. He kind of almost forgot he was still standing.

A Walk in the Park [Sharaku] Empty
PostSubject: Re: A Walk in the Park [Sharaku]   A Walk in the Park [Sharaku] EmptySun Aug 09, 2015 6:53 pm

Yes... Things had been getting rather hectic and stressful as of late... "I'm glad you're doing somewhat decent at least. I've seen better days, that's for sure... But I can't complain much right now." Well, yes, she could complain. She wouldn't though. Mae wasn't a whiny girl, after all. But considering the circumstances, she was doing... okay. If you could call her emotional state okay. It had been all over the place recently.

"Pretty much, yeah... And that's what I thought too. I didn't wish to lie to him because... Well, to be frank, he didn't deserve being lied to, and I just couldn't bring myself to do just that. Did I do the right thing?" In any other case, the answer would be yes, without a doubt, but... Charles was a bit different from your average human. He didn't react the same way to things that someone like Mae would.

"I... thought so too... Why keep it a secret from him? But judging by the way he acted after hearing it... well... I can sort of get where the old man was coming from. Charles is scary when he's angry..." A slight slip of the tongue, but how big was the chance that Sharaku knew Charles to begin with? Slim to none... But then again, it wouldn't suprise her. Everyone seemed to know eachother here nowadays.

"He hasn't yet, I'm afraid... I will have to talk to him about this eventually. A nice resolution would be preferrable, but... I just don't think he's the right guy for me... or that I'm the right girl for him, you know?" If that made sense... Mae looked at Sharaku as he sat down next to her. Why he hadn't done so earlier was anyone's guess. It did feel nice sitting on that bench with him though, talking about things that had been bothering her for weeks now. It was about time she got this burden off her chest...

A Walk in the Park [Sharaku] Empty
PostSubject: Re: A Walk in the Park [Sharaku]   A Walk in the Park [Sharaku] EmptySun Aug 09, 2015 7:56 pm

Sharaku would smile thinly. ''Well, you could complain, but it would probably not help much. But yes, life used to be somewhat better before...'' Can't deny that. It was no sunshine and rainbows lately. Unless you somehow made your own. But he generally failed at the task, so he kind of did not take it into equation anymore, unless there was a painfully obvious reason for him to do so.

''I don't think choosing to be honest is a wrong thing to do. Is it right? That can be interpreted subjectively. For one person something is right, for another, not so much. You couldn't have known how he would react the way he had. Either way, you didn't do anything really wrong in general. Even if you decided to lie...he was bound to find out sooner or later, and judging from this, he wouldn't have been happy regardless.'' Being honest shouldn't really be wrong. How could it be worse than lying? Sure, sometimes a lie seems much better than possibly creating a rift between people, however, when you lie...you're sort of cheating the other person out. Is that what a close relationship could be? At the very least, you could make an agreement as to what matters are not to be talked about. Personal stuff or such that they want to keep, so neither has to come up with lies. Lies never lasted forever, and once it blew...it was bound to go bad in some way.

He would frown contemplatively. ''Well...technically, but he would have had to find out one day..if he was angry now, what would change with time..? It doesn't make that much sen- Wait.'' He only then registered that Mae said a name. And one that was fairly familiar. There was only one person he could think of that could fit with this kind of acting...among other matters. For the love of....how did this even...Well, it certainly put a new dimension to this. And kind of explained a few things. Either way, he would honestly just end up facepalming. Even if it probably seemed rather weird all of a sudden, with the way he just cut off..and...

A Walk in the Park [Sharaku] SDyQSbx

Just, why? ''Well, there goes. I guess that clears this up a little bit....'' He could understand this kind of unpredictable behavior a bit better from what he knew about Charles so far. He would eventually look towards her, not even sure what to do with this. ''How should I even phrase this...'' He wasn't sure how good it actually was that he knew the guy in question. ''Well, I think I may have an idea. Assuming I'm guessing right, and you are talking about the guy I think you are. It may be because he doesn't really understand to begin with. Nor what it truly means for people to be sick, or how to manage feeling in general. It still doesn't excuse what he did...but it's probably because his kind is most likely not really meant to get into the matters of love this much. It's not what their purpose is.'', he would shake his head. Though, he would stop at that for now. He figured she would have quite a bit to ask after what just happened.

''Hm. Well, it is most likely that you will have to be the one to contact him, yes. Despite him being the one to run off on you. I can only wish you good luck. If it's how you actually feel, then it may be for the best that you let him know. It's..not exactly the best thing to stay in a relationship when your feelings for him are fading like this. Unless you wish to keep trying. Whichever choice, it's your call. It's not easy to do either. I had to deal with something a bit similar recently myself, so I would know, I suppose...''
, he would give her a light smile, putting a hand on her shoulder. If anything, he knew that when it came down to this, it was quite a pain. And it was probably worse for her..as her boyfriend wasn't even human.

A Walk in the Park [Sharaku] Empty
PostSubject: Re: A Walk in the Park [Sharaku]   A Walk in the Park [Sharaku] EmptySun Aug 09, 2015 8:51 pm

"Yeah... Before all of this started..." Mae said casually. But getting back that peace was what they were fighting for, no? It gave them a purpose, a reason to keep going. Was it a good enough reason? Maybe not, but it would have to do. Mae also had friends and family to protect, so that made her work harder than normal. But that didn't mean that she could completely neglect her social life as well. A compromise had to be made... And somehow, her powers seemed to be connected to her friends... In some way... She didn't know how or why, but there was without a doubt a connection there.

"Well... I vastly prefer the truth over any sugar-coated lies... But again, he's different than most of us..." Talking to Sharaku about this slowly erased her doubts... He was right. How could she have possibly known how Charles would react? There was no way, considering how unpredictable he was... "Yeah, and then things would be even worse, I bet... It's picking between the lesser of two evils, in a sense... " She didn't want to lose him as a friend either... If that kind of relationship could be salvaged from this mess, then she would gladly take it...

"Hm? Wait what?! Y-You know Charles?!" Mae stared at Sharaku, speechless for a second. Even though she knew that this might be the case, it was nontheless something that caught Mae off guard. What was the chances of them actually knowing eachother to begin with?

"Well, yeah. That's what I meant by him being different... He's not human, I know that very well..." She had learned that a couple of months ago... Back then it wasn't as big of an issue, since he was being so sweet and nice... but now his robotic side was showing itself more clearly than ever before, and Mae did not like it... "Their? Wait... There's more of em?" That... Mae had not expected. She assumed Charles to be a one-of-a-kind sort of deal. And what did a robot really know about love? Sure, he acted somewhat humanly, but he seemed to understand very little if anything at all what being 'human' entailed... Maybe one day he would understand. She hoped so, for his sake...

A Walk in the Park [Sharaku] Casual-Kyouko-kyouko-sakura-24878694-692-692
"Thanks, Sharaku..."

She would need to contact him, eh? It was just a matter of actually doing it that was the hard part. It wasn't gonna be a very happy meeting, she knew that much. What if he got violent? "Yeah... Because I really feel like this isn't going to work out as I hoped initially..." Charles had been so happy back then... Was he really that unstable back then too? "Ehm..." She then looked at Sharaku's hand on her shoulder. It seemed like he genuinely cared for her... Mae smiled somewhat sheepishly back, with a light blush on her cheeks...

A Walk in the Park [Sharaku] Empty
PostSubject: Re: A Walk in the Park [Sharaku]   A Walk in the Park [Sharaku] EmptySun Aug 09, 2015 9:44 pm

Before it all started...yes, in a way. At least for most people. Sharaku couldn't exactly say his life was great before it either. But it was less...stressing in regards to time, at least. Now there were invisible deadlines on things, which made the bad worse in a sense. ''For most of you, at least...'', he would sort of mutter under his breath. Regardless, that wasn't what they came here to talk about. At the very least, not right now.

''I can agree to that. The truth may hurt sometimes, but it's better to be sincere than play things off. Mainly when you're aiming for a close relationship. I don't think lies are a good way to keep people close.'' Not for very long, at least. He wouldn't really be happy if he was lied to in such a situation. ''With something like that...it probably is. On the other hand, it depends on the person you're talking to. Some can take the truth better, some do it worse.'' Still, it was probably better to risk it in this case. With an acquaintance, a lie might not matter that much, but with someone you hope to be close with...well. It can be a double edged sword very easily.

He would give her a half-smile. Yes, he knew Charles. This just went places in the matter of a moment, apparently. ''I do, you could say. I've met him 3 times by now. Though, I prefer to not even count the first one, really. Perhaps I should have guessed. I knew he had a girlfriend. And the last time I met him..he mentioned you, and when I said I knew you..pretty much the first reaction was..'She's hanging out with older men?!'. Now it kind of makes sense why he'd say that...though, the only thing I said was that I knew you. No idea what exactly he was imagining. I think he actually said he intended to ask you about it...'' Was that some form of jealousy? A rather extreme one if he had to say. Ah well. He was surprised she was with him though. Or did he act differently around Mae? Because frankly, from his meetings with the android, he found him...extremely silly among other things.

''He isn't indeed...'', he would sigh a bit, before chuckling a bit at her following question. ''No, he is not. I know one other personally. From what I've been told and know in general...they are made to be fighters above all. Androids are made to emulate the ability to summon a Persona, which is most likely the reason they can behave so closely to them, because they have to be rather similar for it to work. I guess it's because...a robot is obviously much more durable than a human. Nor will die of age.'' It was a bit sad, but true. Everyone could see that a robot was a better choice for such a job than a human in terms of durability. It was still...a little strange. To create a living being that is forced to be a bunch of metal, mostly for the purpose of fighting or something similar like bodyguards. Then again...maybe some of them actually liked it.

He would smile a bit. ''It's alright. I agreed to listen afterall.'' She liked to thank him a lot, didn't she? ''Most likely not...being what he is, probably makes him unpredictable when it comes to matters like this one. I think some can actually have feelings...but how well can a robot work them..when we humans don't always understand such, is a question to be answered. I am no real expert on them. I only know Charles, and one other.'' Though, it wasn't so hard to grasp the concept. And Sentinel told him enough by now. If it was only Charles alone, he probably would have known almost nothing at all. ''Hm?'', he would hum slightly. Was she getting flustered again?

A Walk in the Park [Sharaku] Empty
PostSubject: Re: A Walk in the Park [Sharaku]   A Walk in the Park [Sharaku] EmptyMon Aug 10, 2015 2:03 pm

"For the most of us? It wasn't for you?" Mae asked, with a slightly raised eyebrow. Well, she knew that he had been moving around a lot during his life. Maybe that had something to do with it. Of course, she would ask ever so carefully, as she didn't wish to overstep any personal boundaries. If Sharaku didn't feel like telling her, she would accept that.

"Lies only beget more lies after all. It's going to end pretty badly if you do lie to people you wish to keep close. If anything, Lying pushes people away from eachother..." Mae sighed deeply. When she put it like that, it sounded pretty crystal clear that what she did was indeed the right thing to do... So why was this feeling that she had done something wrong still lingering?

"Oh geez... Do you think he's jealous?" Mae asked. Charles... What in the world was going on inside his head? "Well... He's yet to ask me about it... And I don't think he ever will, considering how he just left me like that." She was very doubtful that Charles would return to her anytime soon, if at all... Although, she did not know for how long he could hold a grudge... Probably for a long time, considering what he was. "I don't see how it's an issue to him though. At least not back then. I can hang out with whoever I want. It's my life, after all." Mae crossed her arms, huffing somewhat. The android had never struck Mae as the dominant type, who wants to keep check of everything his significant other is doing... But then again, all this stuff was new to him. He might've thought any guy Mae hung out with could steal Mae from him... Not that there was any danger of that. Until he decided to leave her like that.

"It does make sense... So he's designed to defeat shadows? I guess he's not supposed to feel something as intimate as love then, let alone understand it. He might've looked things up in books and whatnot. He seemed awfully text-book inspired on that date. He had planned the entire evening in great detail... I think he even quoted some romance novels to try and win me over... He did succeed for the most part. And everything would've been fine and dandy had that manager not decided to call me..." Why did he even disclose that kind of information to her at a moment like that? "I don't want to lose him as a friend though... Charles is still a good friend of mine." Would he even want to talk to her after that? Hopefully. But then again, he's being somewhat childish in his mannerisms... If that still held true, then he would not let go of this for a long time...

"I don't really know how I should approach him... I mean, what if he gets violent?" That was a rather big concern for her. The machine was most likely physically stronger than she was in every way imaginable... And it wasn't like she was any quicker than him on foot either. Considering his lack of control when angry, he could very well lash out at her in a fit of rage or something... and accidentally kill her. She did not wish for that to happen. Hence why she was scared of actually confronting him. "S-Should I just leave him be, then?" That wasn't a solution... but she didn't want to risk her own life by just seeing him. Who knows what was going on inside Charles' head? "O-Oh... it's nothing." Mae replied, somewhat nervously as she turned her gaze towards the pond. "It's quite beautiful here, isn't it? Sometimes I forget that we're in the middle of a big city when I look at our surroundings like this... It really feels like we're somewhere else." The sun's reflection was dancing on the pond's flat surface.

A Walk in the Park [Sharaku] Empty
PostSubject: Re: A Walk in the Park [Sharaku]   A Walk in the Park [Sharaku] EmptyMon Aug 10, 2015 3:10 pm

''No. Far from that, actually. But you can't always choose your life...'' At the very least, it wasn't bad for everyone. That was the good side of this, in a way. Not for him specifically, but you can't have everything, can you? Though, he would shake his head a bit. ''Not that I mind talking about this, but you wanted something else, yes? It's probably not a good idea to mix two big problems. If you're still interested, you can ask me after we finish talking about what you wanted...'' He figured she was at least somewhat interested if she asked, but this wasn't exactly something he could explain in a few words, whether he chose to do it or not.

''Well, if the lie gets found out, at least. But it's not exactly good, even when it does not.''
Either way, lying was a risky business to deal with. Besides..if you don't want someone to know, then why tell them anything to begin with. Even nothing is often better than a made up lie. He would huff. ''It does appear that way.'' Why else would the guy care so much? ''Though, to be frank, I don't really understand him. From the two actual meetings, I only think he's way too silly for his own good. That, and he is rather bad at pretending to be human. If I were to take a guess, he's like a naive kid in terms of a human. From the way he acts around me, at least.'' Nothing proved to change his opinion so far. Charles didn't exactly make a good pretend. And the fact that he often seemed like he didn't even know basic obvious things helped none. Coupled with him looking like a teen...maybe 18? That is not exactly the age at which one doesn't even know ice cream melts.

Supposed to or not? Hard to say. In a way, it probably depended on the person that made the android in question. Charles and Sentinel were greatly different, so it showed that not all robots were made to be completely same. ''I think he might have. As a matter of fact, he kind of forced me to help him with picking out an outfit before. That was pretty much how we met. He literally dragged me out of the street without even knowing who I am, and thought it was perfectly fine because he needed help.'', he would shake his head. He still thought that was extremely ridiculous. ''And he did seem to be taking his inspiration out of fashion magazines. So yes, he probably doesn't know a lot himself. I wouldn't...find it surprising. Humans can hardly describe love, and how it works. How would they make an android that can feel it correctly? Maybe he can, but in his own way. I don't know.'' But he was skeptical about it nevertheless. Sure, technology had to be advanced to even give the possibility of human-like robots. But emotions were difficult even for actual people. ''Doesn't say you can't try though. I don't know him well, but maybe he can handle being a friend?'' He wouldn't bet on it, but he was honestly just confused about the guy more than not.

He would shift on the bench a bit. Should she? Well, he couldn't tell her that, could he now? ''You could..always take someone as a back up, in case he does decide to act inappropriately if you're worried.'' That was probably the most sound idea if she was truly afraid he the guy might get violent. ''It's really up to you. You could risk and try, or leave him be and try to forget. Depends on what do you feel would cause you less pain in the end. That is something only you can decide on.'' It would come down to that in the end, no matter what he said. It was her life, as well as her choices.

''Well, if you're sure.'' He didn't think it was exactly nothing, but he wouldn't press it either. ''Perhaps so. Nature can be calming... But I think any place can be pretty when you're happy.'', he would chuckle a bit. He didn't tend to pay attention to his surroundings that much. When he wasn't in the mood for example, not even a pretty pond would really seem that nice.

A Walk in the Park [Sharaku] Empty
PostSubject: Re: A Walk in the Park [Sharaku]   A Walk in the Park [Sharaku] EmptyMon Aug 10, 2015 4:38 pm

"Unfortunately that's the case. But everything can't be rainbows and sunshine everyday, no?" You sometimes needed a bit of bad things to truly apprechiate the good things in life. But if one's life had been nothing but bad things... then what? "I'm sorry it's been rough for you... Hopefully everything gets better. I doubt there's anything I can do. But if there is, I would gladly help out." That was the least she could do for him. He had done nothing but help her with various things as of late. Not that she minded it per se, but she wanted to do something for him for a change. "Hehe. I suppose you're right." How to even begin...

"I suppose I could've kept quiet about it until a later point in time... but he started asking me about it. I couldn't just flat out ignore him either. That would've just been rude in and of itself..." Come to think of it, that whole scenario didn't have that many desireable outcomes... Sure, she could've lied, but what would that actually accomplish in the long run? Making things worse than they were right now, that's for sure. "Hehe... I remember the second time I saw him. We were going out to eat lunch, and back then I didn't know that he was an android. He ended up giving me his food, giving me a rather odd explanation as to why he couldn't eat it." That's when her suspicions about him not being human was firmly rooted. And surely enough, the next time they met after that, Mae learned the truth... "He's been through a lot... And he was trying hard to make me like him... It's really sad that it had to come to this..."

"Oh? So you're the one behind the outfit he wore that day? Huh..." Interesting... So Sharaku helped him find those clothes. Did he have a day off from work or something to be able to do that? Or had he just taken the opportunity when Mae was away on an errand or something? Regardless, Mae was a bit suprised over what she'd just heard. It did make some sense though. "He's quite... gullible..." That's a good word to describe Charles... He really was like kid in some regards. "Yeah... I asked him once why he had fallen for me... and he was unable to answer that... Not even a "I find you attractive" either. He just couldn't put his finger on what." Maybe it was just that Mae treated him like a human instead of a robot? She would still do that, as she did have some respect for him left. But he had to be careful if he didn't wish to lose the one person who cared for him... "I hope so..." That would be a desireable outcome... But the chances of that actually happening was quite slim... That of course, didn't mean that Mae still wouldn't try her best to keep their friendship intact.

"Would you...?" Mae asked, a little afraid to finish, but he probably got where she was going with that anyway. The pinkette would feel a lot safer with Sharaku watching her back... "I mean, you don't have to! But... I would feel a lot safer if you were around... After all, you're the only one who knows about this, except for Ayane... And I doubt she could do anything to stop Charles..." In fact, the android hadn't been to fond of Mae's childhood friend the moment they met... And sadly, Ayane being there with Mae could potentially make things worse. And besides, Mae would never drag Ayane into that kind of danger to begin with... What kind of friend would she be if she did that?

There was no denying it. She did look up to Sharaku somewhat. He had been there, helping her with various things, that Mae had come to rely on him whenever she felt lost... Hence why she had turned to him about this matter in the first place. She wouldn't have been comfortable with anyone else... Except maybe Jack. But he was rather close to Charles. She didn't want them to fight because of her feelings... That would just be selfish of her. "Well, as long as I'm with someone I like... I'm happy for the most part." Friendship or Romance, it didn't matter much which one. As long as she was around people that was important to her, nothing else really mattered. But the surroundings did have a positive effect on Mae, hence why she had picked this bench in paticular.

A Walk in the Park [Sharaku] Empty
PostSubject: Re: A Walk in the Park [Sharaku]   A Walk in the Park [Sharaku] EmptyMon Aug 10, 2015 6:52 pm

''It can't. I am aware of that.'', he would smile thinly. Of course, it wasn't possible for everything to be a paradise on earth. He understood that. ''I appreciate that...but you're right in a way. There isn't much to do. Afterall, past is something we cannot change. I can't ask people to help with something like that, can I now?'', he would state in a lighthearted tone. He didn't want to start a gloomy atmosphere right away. He was pretty sure whatever she wanted to discuss herself would do a good enough job, if he was guessing right. And he was fine. He didn't really need any actual help, so there was no reason for him to take the stage afterall.

Hmm. ''Seems like a lose-lose situation to me. Whatever you'd have done would probably not end positively. If he reacted like this now, it's doubtful it would have been much different later. So don't worry about it that much. You've done the best you could in your own way.'' It was honorable of her to choose to not lie to him, and it wasn't a bad choice. Just perhaps simply a bad situation to begin with. That couldn't have been predicted. He would raise an eyebrow briefly. ''He can't? Hm, interesting. I know they don't have to eat to function, but it would be easier to fit in if he could at least pretend to eat. Then again, I'm not sure how exactly are their bodies made.'' He couldn't really remember if he saw Sentinel eating before. It wasn't some big event, and he was drawing a blank, despite the fact that he was sure they had been in a restaurant together before, at least once. For a team meeting or something. Eh well. ''But, yes...he is trying too hard. He actually wanted to apologize to me for rudely dragging me out of the street before, by getting me ice cream. Sadly, he didn't seem to realize that carrying ice cream in your pocket is guaranteed to make it melt. I think he didn't even know it would melt period. He tries hard, but he knows little about human customs to begin with.'' That was probably one of the guy's main problems. That...and he was a little cocky, so he did not want to really admit he was wrong unless there was undeniable proof...which made it worse for him to actually learn.

He would chuckle a bit. ''Partially. But to be honest, I called someone to help him instead. I didn't know how to handle him. I kind of gave up when he completely passed over a joke...and took it literally when I said he would look good with pants on his head. He actually put them there, and asked if it was fine. I couldn't keep at it after that...No offense to him.'' Sure, he had been sarcastic and all, but how can someone be so oblivious. Did Charles ever see a person wearing pants on their head before..? ''Well...I can see why. Though, I think..that we don't always know why we really love someone. It's probably not easy to come up with a decisive answer for that kind of an emotion. Not being human makes it even harder to even know what you might be really feeling.'' Was it? He personally didn't know. He had never really been in love before, so it was all about speculation on his part. That, and what he could gather from other people.

He would laugh lowly. ''I could, if you'd want me to. Perhaps, he could even use seeing some reality. He seems rather overconfident in his power. I already told him I could make a popsicle out of him on the spot if I wanted to, but he didn't want to believe me. I'd gladly prove it to him if he tries anything.'', he would smirk a bit. As a matter of fact, it would even be somewhat satisfying to do that. A metal popsicle. Would that taste good? Besides, he doubted freezing for a while would kill a machine, so no huge harm done there.

He would look at her thoughtfully for a moment. Honestly, he was curious about this. That, and he liked being a bit of a tease at times. Besides, he was interested in the answer he'd get. For various reasons. Furthermore, it was up to her to interpret how he meant this. Easy way to see what was on her mind, maybe. ''So, that means you like me...?''

A Walk in the Park [Sharaku] Empty
PostSubject: Re: A Walk in the Park [Sharaku]   A Walk in the Park [Sharaku] EmptyMon Aug 10, 2015 7:59 pm

"Well, it's only fair if I help you out every now and again. You've helped me out a number of times already, without asking for anything in return..." Anything would do really. It could be something small like... taking care of his cat if he was going to be away for a while, or something like that. It didn't have to be anything lifechanging. As long as she could repay him for all the help he's given her. "I wasn't specifically talking about your past. I was just speaking in general when it came to the helping bit..."

"Yeah... I suppose I did do the best I could to salvage the whole situation..." Mae said sheepishly. It felt comforting hearing Sharaku say that. It made the girl slightly more confident in the choice she made earlier. She had done nothing wrong. Charles just overreacted... Like a child... "I guess it's the thought that counts? He did actually go out of his way to apologize. So he isn't completely hopeless. Hehe." Not by a longshot. He had some redeeming qualities. Like actually going out of his way to renovate the appartment just for her sake. Sure, it seemed a bit silly to do that just because she moved in, but at the same time, it was quite touching... He really was a mixed bag in every sense of the word. "Yeah... It would seem that way. He even tried cooking for me once. Sadly the eggs ended up being so burnt they weren't edible, but it was his first time, so it's to be expected, really." And again, it was the thought that counted. Sadly she didn't get any breakfast that morning. She had to eat brunch at a resturant after she walked out of that tower...

"Oh? Some kind of Fashionista?" Mae asked curiously. The clothes Charles had worn on that day did look... good, actually. She had already guessed back then that he didn't exactly pick those up on his own. "......" Mae sat there, speechless for a couple of seconds, registering what Sharaku had just said. "Did he seriously put them on as a hat? I dunno if I should laugh or cry." Probably a bit of both. Poor Charles... "True... Was it unfair of me to ask that?" Mae asked anxiously. For all tends and purposes, yes, it might have been a bit unfair of her to ask him such a question... but she had felt the need to know back then... She still didn't quite understand why Mae of all people ended up being his love-interest.

"I would apprechiate that." Mae said with a wide smile. Her worries were put to rest now that Sharaku would be there with her. In case anything went wrong, he could step in... She didn't like the prospect of dragging him into danger like that, but... he seemed to be rather okay with it. In fact, it seemed that Sharaku was rather eager... But maybe that was just Mae imagining things. "Just try not to damage him beyond repair, alright?"

Mae's cheeks flared up vividly when Sharaku asked that, but despite that, her eyes were focused on his. Now was as good of a time as any. The cat was out of the bag... She was a bit concerned with how he would react to her answer. As far as the answer itself...

A Walk in the Park [Sharaku] Sakura_Kyouko_-_Artiste_Hishiki
"Y-Yes... I do..."

It probably wasn't all that difficult to decipher how she felt at this point. Her body language basically told Sharaku everything he needed to know. She finally said it. And now the nervousness started kicking in. What did he think about it? Would he be fine with it, or just dismiss her? Did he like her that way too? All she could do now was wait for his response... And the wait for that response felt like an eternity for Mae... Time itself seemed to stop for everything else around the two... What would his answer be?

A Walk in the Park [Sharaku] Empty
PostSubject: Re: A Walk in the Park [Sharaku]   A Walk in the Park [Sharaku] EmptyMon Aug 10, 2015 9:17 pm

Fair. Ah yes, guess it was. There was no way to deny that. But...he was fine with it as it was. It was..somewhat funny. He wouldn't be happy if someone mooched off of him, and didn't even bother to return the favor. But, in case he was actually offered, he tended to not want it. He disliked people being selfish, but nor did he really require to be paid back most of the time. Usually, it was enough for him that he knew the other person would do it willingly. He would give her a half-smile. ''And I'm perfectly fine with that. There's no need for you to pay me back.'' There really wasn't.

''See? That's much better than being down over it.''
, he'd say with a light grin. Being upset wouldn't be a solution to anything, afterall. It's easier to think clearly when you aren't looking at the worst side of what happened or is happening. It can help. He would snort a little. ''I guess it does count. I still find him too silly though. Can't help it.'' Ah well. It would probably not change anytime soon. Mainly if Charles kept acting similarly each time the two of them met. He simply couldn't take the android seriously at times. ''Well, cooking isn't the easiest to learn, I guess. Almost everyone would probably fail the first time.'' Couldn't blame that one on anything specific. Cooking wasn't a given skill. You had to learn it.

He would shrug, a bit indifferently. ''You could say so. It's the guy we spoke about back at the club, if you remember.'', he'd elaborate a bit, but not aim to specify unless she asked for more than that. He would give an amused smile at her reaction. It was probably a bit shocking, indeed. ''He did, yes. I didn't know what to think about it either.'' He still didn't. It was both amusing and completely ridiculous at once. Though, he would hesitate a bit at the next question. Was it unfair or not? There probably wasn't a clear cut answer for that. ''Probably..neither. It's a hard thing to answer..but you shouldn't be forbidden to ask either. If you want to stay with someone longterm..you should know how they feel about you. Waiting until they tell you themselves is also an option..but that may never happen with some types..'' There was probably no right way to approach this. Best to go with what felt right and risk, maybe.

He would give her faint smile. ''I can try. But nothing is guaranteed. I might be a bit too strong for him if it were to come down to a fight involving the supernatural. So hope it doesn't.'' Confidence aside, he did think he could handle Charles fairly easily, based on the android's knowledge on certain matters. Of course, he was ready to face a surprise too, but he didn't expect it much.

Ah. Well....that answered it. To a certain extent, he did expect this..but also not. Frankly, he had been unsure how to really take her behavior due to the fact that she did still technically have a boyfriend. Even though right now, it looked as if she was going to end up breaking up with Charles. What to do, however? For a while, he would look back at her a bit awkwardly. She obviously expected him to say something. But...what do you say to that? It wasn't even a question. He didn't know what she wanted to hear to begin with. Still, he had asked, so he brought this upon himself personally. Can't really complain now.

The real question was...what did he want to accomplish by asking her anyway? Teasing aside. It was true that he was free to do as he liked now, since he had told Shun he was not interested clearly enough just recently. Yet, it wasn't particularly easy. He wasn't the type to be able to tell this early. He was alright with her company and all, so that was fine. Just...what after? On the other hand, he did learn something from that last fail. Pushing people away just because he didn't know for sure right away was not going to help. He'd get nowhere that way. Therefore...

He would give her a lighthearted smile. ''I see.'' Perhaps he could try to see what would happen out of this. ''It's alright. You don't need to be anxious over it. If you don't mind me asking, though...what does it..mean for you? You're technically still with Charles now, yes...?'', he'd respond calmly with a slight nod, followed by a somewhat curious tone. She could like him...but what did that mean right now? In any case, he did his best to keep a light atmosphere over it. He didn't want her to be worried for nothing, but he sort of wanted to know what did she see in this, before he made a more solid decision, perhaps.

A Walk in the Park [Sharaku] Empty
PostSubject: Re: A Walk in the Park [Sharaku]   A Walk in the Park [Sharaku] EmptyTue Aug 11, 2015 10:26 am

"Hehe. Alright." Mae returned the smile with one of her own. So it wasn't needed? "As long as you're happy, I'm not gonna argue." Why would she argue? It was his choice whether he wanted her to repay the favor or not. That was something she could not change. Maybe one day she would get an opportunity though.

"I guess... All I really needed was just someone to talk to about it... And you're one of three people I would feel confident talking to about this..." She might talk to Rin about this later. Just to get her opinion on what she should do. "Cooking isn't easy... I'm actually trying it out myself weekly nowadays... I mean, I only live at the Dorms for one more year... once school opens up again. After that, I have to survive on my own. And without food... it's difficult to do so in the first place unless you're a robot." Mae chuckled lightly. She really should get Hyde to start test tasting her food... He could almost eat anything, from what she'd seen. Letting Sharaku do that though... was a big no-no. She didn't wanna knock him unconscious with something that tasted really bad... Hyde could probably take that. Jack as well... considering the weird tea he had been drinking at Chagall a couple of weeks back...

"Yeah. Seeing someone act like that is bound to leave an impression on you." Charles was pretty memorable. A little silly, yes, but that android had a nack for making a strong impression, whether good or bad... The latter was probably the more common, but at least it was sort of amusing in it's own way. "Ehehe... What you're saying makes a lot of sense. Abstract things like love works differently for everyone, so it's really difficult to really see any right way to go about things... If there even is a 'Right way' to begin with." There sure were a lot of wrong ways to do things too... most of them pretty obvious, others not so much...

Mae smiled warmly at Sharaku. "Let's just hope it doesn't come down to that." She wanted to avoid a conflict from occuring, but if it was inevitable, then having Sharaku by her side was comforting.

"Technically, yes... I'm planning on breaking up with him though... I don't think this relationship I have with him would last much longer anyway... It felt more like he had a crush on me or something..." Mae looked at Sharaku with a sheepish look on her face. "I-I've given it some thought since we saw eachother at the club...  I think I would be happier with someone like y-you." Hopefully it was a good enough answer. "I honestly am willing to give it a shot... if you want to that is..." It felt like Sharaku understood Mae better than Charles did. He was more mature, and a human to boot. "S-So yeah... That's my view on things..." All she could do right now was wait for an answer. What would he say?
