The World Goes Round [Katsu, Open]

It had been a hot, almost summer-like day in Yoro. Even though it was still winter, the sun had shone with strength, bathing everyone and everything on its light, source of all life. Like everyday, it had diligently risen and sowed its infinite blessings, casting away the darkness and bringing forth the purest bliss.

Yet, now that the cornucopia was unburdened and empty, it was ready to rest until the very next dawn, when it was completely refilled once again. Thus, the sphere went down slowly , kissing the horizon and merging with it as the sky was filled with gold and orange, red and pink, dark blue and a few last traces of white...

It was only now when the ivory boy stepped from the shadows of the attraction into the reach of the sunlight for the first time in the day. As a creature of the night, he couldn't be in contact with such a strong light for very long... His skin was so delicate that he'd never be able to freely share the joy of the day... However, he liked the twilight. At that time, the light was soft enough for him to withstand, and though he loved the night, it lacked something that the day possessed. Warmth.

with his hands sticked into his pockets, he closed his eyes as slightly bent his neck upwards, and the light tainted the albino with the autumn colors of the clouds. His expression was completely devoid of everything. Just like the sun would soon be, he was empty... Now, he gathered within his small ration of life avidly between the amusement park of Yoro and the Riverside as the former begun to close up. There were still many visitors, but it wouldn't take long before they all left.

Yet, none of Abel's thoughts were dedicated to that fact. He had came because, for some reason, he had felt drawn to it. As if a greater force had guided his steps... Perhaps it was the fact that he used to come here very often when he was young and things were different... Back then, he loved this place. Here he could forget about all the problems in his life and for a day, just be like any other happy child... Yes, this place had waken up many fond memories even if he had been just looking around, observing in silence.

... Yet, for some reason, the more he remembered those golden days, the more bitter he felt. It felt like something oppressing his chest, an unsettling feeling of melancholy that bloomed upon gazing upon something he knew it was lost forever.

That is why he had walked away from the center of the place and towards the riverside, where the peace would allow him to purge himself from such feelings... This bond he had with this place... He had to break it. He was but a fleeting leave in the wind. Soon, he'd land and return to the ground... All these bonds he had, they just staled him. He had to finish his short journey willingly or not, and these links with past times would just make it more painful... There was just one thing he could do...

He had to kill the past.

Yet... That was very easy to say, but Abel didn't think he'd ever be able to do it. Deep, deep inside, he knew he'd always be that kid with dreamy eyes, head on the clouds and a thousand dreams of a self-promised future full of hope. He would never accept it, but that was just how things were. Despite how much you changed, how much the world battered you, the essence remained intact... And much to Abel's disgrace, he felt light inside under the sea of unyielding darkness...

'Indeed you are generous', thought the teenager, dismissing those thoughts that troubled him so much, 'I wonder, great star... Would you still come out to share your happiness if we weren't here for you to shine for?'

In silence, Abel just kept staring at the colored waters of the river as he waited for the sun to leave and give place to his pale mistress.

A crimson light would appear, hidden beneath the leaves of the land, and a small figure would suddenly appear at the Riverside Carnival. To those watching it would appear as though the figure appeared in thin air, as they didn't have the potential to see the doorways to Limbo. The small figured that appeared almost out of thin air was none other than Katsu!, though he was dressed in an odd outfit that consisted of over sized sunglasses, a red cloak/cape, and an outfit that would give him a home in some kind of Shounen Manga. With his hands on his knees, the costumed Pop Idol would be breathing heavenly. It was almost if he got done running a marathon, but in reality he was simply just tired because of the battles with Shadows he had just come from. "Jeez, that was troublesome, Yeah! N-kun better not be mad with me~ Hehe!" The childish young boy would giggle to himself as he reached into his pants pocket and received a pack with the title "Picky" on the cover. Removing a flavored stick from the pack, he'd slide it between his lips and once again pocket the stick candy. Now that Katsu! had a good idea on the place called Limbo and what to expect when going within it, he needed to find the opposition N-kun spoke of. There were other Persona-Users in Ueitawa, and that was something that made the young Child excited. He had never met someone else like him, and the thought of competing against them made him bounce up in down in anticipation. Unlike others that saw this as a bad thing, Katsu! didn't have the capability of thinking things through. He was impulsive, which ultimately made him unpredictable. Throughout his dancing at the thought, he had paid no mind to the hill the sat beneath the road he currently stood on. So with one misstep, the foolish boy went tumbling down towards the River. There'd be shouts and laughs coming from the young boy before he finally regained his composure at the bottom of the hill, striking a "Thinking Man" pose like some kind of action hero. "All according to plan! Hmm!" A wide smile was spread across Katsu!'s face as his eyes searched for any signs of life, almost immediately taking notice to the zombie like guy over looking the river.

The young idol would pop to his feet and dust himself off. Giving a random thumbs up towards the snow white haired individual, Katsu! would give a wink beneath his shades. "Helllloooo, Zombie-san! Looking for brains this lovely evening~?" The boy spoke in a whimsical manner, as he twirled a finger around in the air in circular motions.

Slightly startled by the high pitched voice coming from his side, Abel turned his head towards the strangely dressed jester, staring at him with eyes not very long fiery and menacing, but that now were dull and lifeless.

For a moment, Abel just stared at him with apathy before reaching a conclusion. This boy was an idiot. It was impossible than anyone else other than an utter moron could dress or act like him without either willingly making a fool of themselves or actually being one. And each was equally idiotic.

Normally, he'd just intimidate the guy into leaving him alone. He could do it with ease. He had intimidated much tougher, bigger and badder guys than this little flea... Yet... He couldn't bring himself to do so... That didn't mean that he wanted him to stay around, only that that aggressiveness, that thanatic impulse that had taken root on his very soul during the course of the last year, was asleep.

Thus, he just turned his gaze away from the boy to show how little he was worth his attention, "Shame there are none anywhere near", he snarkily said. With a bit of luck, this guy would be stupid enough to believe he was a zombie and get out of his sight. Abel didn't bet anything on it though.

"Oh how harrrsh. Oh how cruuueel. I'm wounded, even!" The weird dressed boy grasped his chest, like he was grabbing his heart, and gave a crooked grin. Something wasn't right about him, that was for sure. Grasping the side of his glasses, he would lower them slightly to reveal to keen yellow hues that doubled as eyes. It was a side effect for owning a Tainted Persona, but could be controlled. Right now, the Nyarlathotep Pawn didn't wish to hide his alliance with the Crawling Chaos. "Standing out here all alone. Haven't you heard of the disappearances? Seems rather.. foolish ..to be out here alone. Someone could make you.. disappear." For just those few seconds, Katsu!'s childish voice turned to one of complete malice, almost like he was another person entirely. Suddenly he'd begin to give a goofy laugh while scratching his head. "So how do you like my costume? Pretty cool, huh?! Call me Neo Featherman Gold!" Katsu! took a triumphant pose, showing off his outfit, before spinning on the soles of his feet and giving a peace sign. "Either way, Weird-san, why are you out here all alone? No friends?" The little boy's words were blunt and sort of demeaning. Especially giving this guy a nickname that involved "Weird" in it. However, Katsu! wore an innocent smile on his face like that of a child that didn't know any better. "If you don't have friends, Weird-san, I'll be your friend! Neo Featherman Gold is a true friend! I'd help you clean your room, and eat your food, and walk your dog, and.. and.. !" Katsu! grabbed his head in thought, while making a groaning noise. "And, I dunno, Mm!"

Abel ignored the boy as he got overdramatic about his snide remark, but it was getting harder and harder the more he kept going... At this rate he'd end up punching the idiot.

But then the voice of the voice gave a drastic change... Suddenly it sounded... Malevolent... Not to mention the grim threat implied on his words... Surprised, Abel turned his head to look at the younger boy's face... Under the glasses, there were a pair of strange bright golden eyes that looked anywhere but natural... Or sane...

Genuinely taken out of guard by the boy, that obviously was not just a jester, Abel took a small step back, startled... Internally, he shook his head, he wasn't going to let this boy intimidate him just like that!, No matter who he was facing, he'd stand his ground!

And so, as the two of them looked into eachother's eyes, there was a spark on his pupils and that something that had been slumbering inside Abel was awakened, his expression hardening as his glare became that of a wild untamable beast, just as violent and crazed as the one of the boy.

... And then he realized it. This boy was no different from him. Strangely enough, despite of everything that seemed to set them apart, they were birds of a feather. The boy had probably realized the same as him by now.

His intense glare was still fixated on the boy, but it no longer contained any hostility, a smirk grew on his face. He was annoyed no longer at the boy, but amused. Amused at how he hadn't noticed before, amused at how different and yet so similar they were.

"Phoenix R. Featherman huh?", he said with a small chuckle, "I must admit that I loved that show since I was a child..."

Yes... The hero, the greatest defendant of justice of all history in television had been for a very long his only friend, and the one that had taught him to have hope in the future, making him push through years of solitude... How far away those days seemed now... It would seem like entirely different reality if it wasn't for the child inside him, that jumped up and down upon seeing his favorite superhero... Yet another proof that he couldn't change who he had always been...

"To be honest, kid", he answered, not letting himself be affected by the tone of his words, "I don't have any real friends..."

'Except...' Said a voice inside his head... Yet Abel paid it no attention.

"You of course don't know, but the reason I don't fear being alone and disappearing is that I'm already doing so, even as we speak... At any moment I could vanish forever...", he revealed, turning towards the course of the river again. "Do you understand now?, A fading man needs no friends... They would only make it harder when he finally disappeared."

"You sir.. are the most depressing guy I've ever come across, Mnn!" The boy was surprisingly blunt with his response, but was still giving his childish grin. Swaying back and forth on the soles of his feet, he'd tug at his ear. "The sky is falling, ya know? There's no time to dwindle over small matters in life. And heck, if you're going to disappear then you shouldn't be wasting your time out here staring at nothing. Do something fun with your life, Hmmn!" The boy, also known as "Daydreamer", would rub the bottom of his nose with a sly smile. "Though, I'm not really the type to be giving life lessons. Disregard what I've said, Kehehe.." It was entirely true, Katsu! had no room to be speaking of life lessons. For someone who lived for the moment, did what he want, and basically antagonized the rules of the current society; giving life lessons was a ridiculous thought. Luckily this boy before him knew nothing of his exploits, or the power he held. Ever since Katsu! had come into the potential of a Persona, his grasp on reality had become severely shaken. Where one usually were moulded by their surroundings, he was still in that phase where the world was a third party. Everything he did was relentless and he never once thought of the consequences behind his various actions. Perhaps this occurred because he became a star, or because he simply was too childish to comprehend. Whatever the case, he was the last person anyone would want telling them how to run their life. Though, behind that carefree smile of his, no one would suspect he was one of the worst kind of people to walk this earth. Easily influenced, and heart pure but filled with chaotic instinct.

"Whatever the case, Weird-san, stop being so gloomy. It's totally bad for your skin. Like this one guy was so gloomy his skin actually fell off and he lived the rest of his life known as "Skinless Pete." Crazy, huh?" He possibly bended the truth there. Maybe JUUUUUST alittle, heheh. Whatever the case, the boy folded his arms in a carefree manner and began to bounce on his feet. He was surely a strange one to be around for extended periods of time, and that was a no brainer. "Moral of this story is always brush your teeth before work!" That had literally nothing to do with the whole point of the conversation... Surely this child said the first thing that came to his mind at a moment's notice.

As Katsu spoke to him, Abel kept observing the waters of the river meditating about what the boy had just told him

"Heh... You know, when I saw you for the first time I thought you were just a fool...", said Abel as he turned to face him with an enigmatic smirk. "Now I see how wrong I was... Believe it or not, you are right. The waters flow and so must I.", he added while he was walking up to him. He had let his heart guide him here, so why not let this boy guide him the rest of the way. There was nothing to loose and everything to gain... Plus, it was hard to admit it, but he was starting to feel a strange affection towards the boy... Even if he couldn't tell why...

"So, the carnival will close soon and most people have gone home... Guess what that means?", Abel attempted ro display a happy smile... However it didn't go very well and ended up look quite sinister.

"It means that we won't have to wait to ride in anything we want!, Isn't that awesome?", truly, Abel had forgotten how to act like a happy person. Oh well, perhaps he'd remember if he relaxed a bit... Torturing himself over and over wasn't going to do any good, even if he doubted his skin would fall off because of it.

"Hah, you're easy to change your mind. That's kinda funny." The boy placed a hand on his side and looked towards the sky for a few seconds. "Not like playing at the carnival isn't fun, but I have some stuff to do tonight. Super secret stuff. Super secret spy society stuff." The young pop star would tug at his ear while making his way back up the hill. "You know, I heard some event is going to be at Nadashiki in a few days. You should swing by, just for a visit. Maybe I'll be there. Maybe not. It should be pretty radical, Mnn.." Of course Katsu! would be there. It was his event after all. Only a few performances, but it was to show that he was still a member of Oppai Oppai and not abandoning his group members. After all, Katsu! had been separated from his group mates for quite some time. They knew he had left the group temporarily to head home on Nyarlathotep's request, as they all had their own ties to the Crawling Chaos. The group was created, after all, from his blessing and thus they followed him almost like a hidden cult. Of course Katsu! was more of a free spirit compared to most of his other band mates, they all had a slight fascination with Nyarlathotep. Only he had been gifted with a Persona so far, but it was completely possible one day in the future they would have their chance aswell. However, for now, their jobs were to make music that lured people into a false sense of security where Nyarlathotep could sweep in and forcefully take their will from beneath their feet. It was a rather funny! Atleast Katsu! thought so. Regardless, the boy began his retreat from the conversation. "Either way I must leaaavveee! I hope you stay healthy, wealthy, and wise depressing guy! BAI BAI!!" With one final wave, Katsu! dashed off out of sight like an olympic athlete.

An event in Nadashiki he said?, Was he talking about the Oppai Oppai concert that would be taking place there?... Abel hoped not... He hated that group. Their music lacked any kind of real talent or quality... But the worst thing about it was that it was completely empty. There was no emotion, no authenticity to it... It was but a soulless imitation of real music... Abel couldn't understand why so many people seemed to like it in the first place...

An idea suddenly popped up inside his head. Perhaps it wasn't such a bad idea to assist, he thought to himself as a malicious smile, much more more fitting for him than his previous one, was formed on his face... It seemed that indeed this little concert would be much more radical than the boy expected... In fact, it should be something that would be engraved in everyone's memories forever.

The rising star turned decided to take his leave himself. He had performance later that night and he was feeling in the perfect mood to rock the hell out of his fans until dawn broke... Plus, there was so much to prepare if he wanted his little plan to work... It was a crazy idea. In fact, it was batshit insane... But honestly, he didn't give a fuck. The boy was wright, this was the time of his life and he had to seize it...

Looking one last time at the golden, infinite sky one last time, he made himself a silent oath that would remain a secret between him and the heavens.

As he prepared to leave the park and the memories contained within its fence, the Albino realized that there was one thing the boy was wrong at...

"The sky... It isn't falling... It's ascending", he said to himself as he walked away.
