Hyde found himself in front of Shun’s door again, he figured that he was in the area and wanted t stop by. Well, stop by was an understatement, there are plenty of things that Hyde and Shun can do today. “I wonder if he’s even home, I didn’t even text him beforehand or anything. “ Hyde was an unexpected kind of guy, those unexpected visits and situations that pop up are meant to be spontaneous and fun. He would have hoped that shun would have tome time to hang out today. “ Alright……” Hyde pushed the door bell and waited.

Shunnosuke wasn’t the type to stay up past 9am. Not really a fan of healthy habits, he was used to getting up early to head to school and then attend to his company duties at the behest of his grandfather. As odd as it may sound, while the school was on a hiatus for unknown time, Shunnosuke was allowed to stay home during what was previously known as school time. Rewards for his efforts in representing the company, perhaps, fact is that as every other teenager, he enjoyed waking up until later hours before preparing to head to granpa’s office — after all, hiatus on school doesn’t mean in any shape or form hiatus on his other duties —, as long no one bothers his sleep, that is. That day, he woke up with his regular maid knocking on his room saying there was a fine young man in the living room door. How unfortunate. The rare time he had to extend his sleep was disturbed by whatever this guy wanted…

— …argh. I can’t believe it, seriously… — He quickly wore his morning robe and wrapping it by his waist as he went all the way down the downstairs, it didn’t take long for Shunnosuke to reach the front door. — …you. — Honestly, he was a bit moody. And surprised to see Hyde, but overall moody over the fact that he had been awake earlier than scheduled, and…the Oki subject. He still haven’t told the redhead he visited the lady, if he can even refer to Oki as such… — Come on in. I gotta get ready to head out later, so we must be brief. — He said, dryly, opening the door further so Hyde could join the living room.

Hyde walked in and sat on the living room couch. “It’s been a while since I been here…” Hyde would say as he looked at shun. “Are you doing anything today Shun? Today seemed like a beautiful day and I kind of thought that we could spend the day together if you wanted to? This was kind of short notice, he didn’t ask shun about his plans or anything. Hyde just dropped by, requesting Shun’s company. “ though, I guess it’s a bit inconvenient for you right now, did I wake you up or something? This was pretty bright and early, but Hyde would consider himself as a morning person. He doesn’t sleep in too often.

Yeah, definitely it’s been a while since Hyde stepped in his house for the first time. Months ago, during last year, back when they weren’t even friends. Was the redhead getting nostalgic? Shunnosuke crossed his arms, finally closing the front door and watching his classmate’s moves. — Yes, you did. — He answered, frankly and unreserved, though by now it stopped being a concern for the blonde. — I’m not doing anything today but managing the house in the absence of my relatives. At late afternoon, I’ll probably head out to meet with my grandparents. I doubt there’s much we can do here that would suit your interests. — He recalled the time when Hyde offered to bake a cake for Sharaku. Urgh. The memory annoyed him long time, for Sharaku still haven’t told him about his birthday. It’s possible that the date even passed already. Sure, the guy said he has a bad memory when it comes to dates, still…meh. Looks like everything is conspiring to ruin his mood.

“Well… you interest me.. and you’re here…so I think I’m fairly suited right about now. Hyde would say and clap his hands. “Alright, as an apology, how about I make you some breakfast today? “ Shun would already guess that Hyde was pretty good at cooking. He worked at a restaurant and he had to cook his own meals because he lived alone. That much was a given, so it was a good chance that Shun could make something good. “ It’s a good start to put myself in the cooking mood if we’re going to get on that cake. Also, this will be the first time that I make something just for you. Interested yet?” Shun probably wasn’t hungry, but Hyde asked anyway.

— …a-alright. — Gosh, that straightforward way of voicing his emotions would never sit well with Shun. He was too honest for his own good, to the point his sincerity could be easily misunderstood by something else, and Shunnosuke never knew if Hyde actually meant it as friendship or another feeling with different intensity. He had really no problems with analyzing other people, but Hyde…had always been something else. — Follow me then. My maids are cleaning upstairs, so the kitchen is available by this time of the morning. — That said, he’d lead his steps to the kitchen, unless his classmate requests his attention and stops him in the middle of the way. If not, then they’d quickly reach the room, spacious and large as supposed to be. Hyde would find all sorts of varied foods there, even imported good that aren’t easily accessible otherwise. All in all, the idea of having a friend come over to cook him food was ridiculous, but…in truth, he was hungry. And could very well use a servant while the domestic helpers are busy with the cleaning.

“ok.!!!!” hyde would say as he followed shun to the kitchen. “before i get started, is there anything that you would want to eat or anything like that? I think I'll need a cookbook for the fancy stuff, but youll be suprised at what i know how to make. ” hyde would then put one finger up. “ there is only one rule, you have to be patient while im cooking for you, ok? “ hyde would then give shun a small wink and look for an apron and proceeded to wash his hands. “ so what would you like, your highness?”

Anything to eat? Hm…tricky question. Nothing came to Shunnosuke’s mind — at least, nothing Hyde would know how to prepare, anyway. He had a penchant for expensive dishes even at mornings and he seriously doubted Hyde would be able to comply with any of his requests. — Sure, patient. — He rolled his eyes, ending up cracking a small smile in light of Hyde’s confidence and the “your highness”. He could get used to being treated like that. — Surprise me. — That alone would suffice. Shunnosuke would lean on the sink, crossing his arms in expectation. Let’s see how Hyde handles his creativity.

“ MMmmm………my kitchen for the time being shun chan…sooo………my rules..cant peak…wait at the table ok?. ”Hyde did escort Shun from out of the kitchen, he wasn’t working while Shun was there because it was supposed to be a surprise. Hyde would then start to quickly move around and open the fridge, he would reach for the eggs and some other supplies. “ Hmm…..” Hyde would hum to himself and reach for some vegetables as well. “ Ok….” Hyde would then start to wash the short vegetables and went about turning on the fire. “ Hard to guess what I’m making ehh? Well, it won’t too long.” Hyde was busy working his butt off, and he kind of refrained from talking too much. “now…. The…..pancake batter……” Hyde had intention to make pancakes too, but it was still up in the air

After a while, Hyde finished his surprise breakfast and showed it to Shun. “A garden omelet! broccoli, mushrooms, tomatoes and a perfect helping of Cheddar cheese. Then, you have chocolate chip pancakes, and ….well… I don’t have a special drink or anything…. Do you want orange juice?” Hyde would say with a silly smile. “I’ll ring it over and clean up my dishes afterwards. You can sit there and eat up, tell me how it tastes

— What? — He said, unbelieving, although not efficiently offering any resistance. What’s the problem if checking every now and then what Hyde was cooking? Suspicious. — A quick reminder, this is my kitchen, alright? Also…when will you stop with that nickname? — He said with a sigh, sitting by the kitchen’s table finally. Hyde would probably never know this nickname bothers his classmate so much to the point of making him irked. Up to this point, that was all Shunnosuke would say, in the end complying to his request and just staying where he is, putting his arms on the table’s surface and laying over them, trying to catch up to pending sleep. After all, Hyde came when he had barely wakened up. A few moments later, the blond teenager almost falling asleep again, Hyde would return with what he had prepared. Omelet, huh? Nothing unusual. He couldn’t say he was surprised, it was a fairly easy dish to make. However, the surface decoration was appealing. Not really a fan of omelet, but at least there was something that captivated his interested. As for the pancakes…it sort of reminded him the day he visited Sharaku and had pancakes as well. Hyde could honestly be more creative, but he could give the redhead some points for the effort. — Orange juice is fine. Just don’t put much sugar into it. I don’t think I’ll be able to eat all of this, but…well… — Picking a knife and a fork, he sliced a piece of his omelet first for himself, slowly, lazily. He never had much appetite anyway. — Hm…Hyde…there’s something I have to ask you… — He said, poking the slice he had been constantly staring, with the fork, not yet having his bite.

Orange juice? Alright! “ Hyde went in the kitchen and got Shun a glass of orange juice. Afterwards he would wash up the dishes and bring a plate of his own. “Whatever you think you can’t eat by yourself, we can share it together, ok?” Hyde would put that option up there, but he wasn’t going to intrude on his special breakfast that he made for his friend. Though, Hyde would link twice when Shun talked about a question he had to ask Hyde. “A question? Sure, what kind of question is it?” What did Shun have to ask Hyde about this time around?

Shunnosuke kept poking the small fraction of his omelet repeatedly, pondering how to introduce the topic. Nevermind the fact he willingly ignored Shun’s warning… — What exactly do you think of me? — This is the only moment Shunnosuke raised his gaze to contemplate Hyde’s face. A random and direct question? Perhaps. But that has been troubling the teenager for a while now. The redhead was never clear about the signs, or at least Shun thought they were signs. And after his meeting with Oki, after hearing from Sharaku’s mouth that Hyde indeed considered that…”girl” or whatever that disgusting short creature identified herself as his girlfriend, he had to listen it from Hyde’s mouth.

“Hm? That’s an interesting breakfast question. Should I say that I’m the chef or something?” Hyde blinked a few times and smirked. “Well, I’m pretty sure that I told you this before. You are a very special person in my life that I enjoy being around. Yu could be mean sometimes, but your means isn’t too consistent. I’d say it’s more of a self-defense mechanism, and what’s inside is a lot brighter. “ Hyde would take one of the pancakes with his fork and cut into it. “Does that answer your question shun? Or was there more to it this time around?”

More to it? Definitely. Shunnosuke didn’t want to deliver all of it in one blow. Though, listening carefully to the given answer, he was slightly bothered by what he heard. If he wasn’t eating the slice of omelet, his comeback would be rather ruthless to his friend — and by the way, the taste was…good! For an improvised breakfast, Hyde did well enough. — …self-defense? From what? — As he kept cutting the omelet without looking directly to his classmate, Shun’s tone was harsh and rather cynical, with a raised eyebrow denoting his emotions. He wasn’t too pleased with what Hyde said…yet he knew very well the redhead was far from being wrong. Somehow, under his stern and annoyed façade, he knew.
