Cruelty (Open)

"Help, help!"

Saito turned to look at a young man who was in the process of getting mugged by a gangster. Saito glared balefully as the gangster threatened the man with an iron pipe.

"Give me your frickin' wallet!" barked the gangster. Saito sighed, walking up to the gangster. He tapped the crook on the shoulder. "Excuse me."

The gangster turned his head. "Eh? The hell do you wa-"

POW!

Saito cut the hooligan off, delivering a fierce punch to the face. The criminal went down like a sack of bricks. "Worthless garbage..." snarled Saito, spitting on the downed gangster. The young man looked up at Saito gratefully. "Th-thanks for saving me!" he said.

Saito laughed. "Saved you? Oh, that's rich!"

He quickly backhanded the young man, then kicked him in the gut. Saito grinned wickedly as he extracted the man's wallet from his pocket. "I just wanted to get your wallet before this idiot got it."

"Y-you bastard..." groaned the man, clutching his aching stomach. "H-how can you be s-so damn cruel?!"

Saito sneered. "Life is cruel. We all live just to die, and every day we spend on this worthless Earth is pointless."

He walked away, heading to the ramen shop and planning to use the man's money to pay for dinner. Saito sat down at the bar. "One beef ramen, please." he said.

Okay. So. Maybe walking about was not such a good idea. Her parents had warned her about walking around when it was night time. But... darn it, this was the only time that she could! Nanami Himura was not one to idle about, especially since this was supposed to be a 'dangerous' part of the city. And exercise would be good. Right? Right?

When she saw the mugging, Nanami thought the man was very brave to stand up to the guy. But after she saw the kick to the downed man, she gasped in horror. How... how could he? No. This would not stand. She probably wouldn't be very well received by the second attacker, but she would do something? Here was hoping that she wasn't going to get the crud kicked out of her.

She went over to the man and helped him up and onto a bench before telling him to stay there she would try to get his wallet back and no she would, it would be alright who would hit a girl? Okay so a lot of people, but her determination wouldn't waver as she made her way to the ramen shop and smelled all of those savoury dishes. It would be alright if she- NO! Focus Himura. An innocent guy depended on you. She took a deep breath in, and back out again before plastering her 'face' on, one that was smiling but held threat in it. But... just in case her plans failed, she pulled out a small, hand sized canister with a spray nozzle, tucking it into her left hand and hiding it somewhat. It would give her time to run if it came to that.

"Excuse me sir," she began, tapping on the man's shoulder. She had seen which hand was his dominant and forced him to turn that way so his weaker hand would be the one to punch her, if he did go that route. "You have stolen my friend's wallet. Please, return it."
