| This place was officially the most… confusing place on the whole of Azores. It was only confusing in that Naomi had no idea what to do with herself here. She wasn’t even sure why she came in the first place. Maybe she was bored and confused and just wanted to go somewhere her thoughts couldn't catch her. She figured that if she was here, she could at least have some fun. Now, what did people do at clubs? Well, they drank, which she wasn’t in to and wasn’t old enough to do; they laughed loudly with friends, which she couldn’t do because she was alone; and they danced. That last one sounded like the best option. She wasn’t much of a dancer though. This was going to be awkward.
She left the wall she had been leaning against and went into the mess of people all moving to the music that was on. That was another thing she didn’t care for. The music was so loud that it hurt her ears. Still, she figured that was the culture. She drowned out everything but the beat and began to move her body to the rhythm. If anyone looked at her, it wouldn’t seem like she knew what she was doing, but it wasn’t so bad as to make everyone stop and stare at her. Well, maybe if someone were interested in the way she moved her hips, which was the one part of her body that looked like it knew how to dance. Everything else was nothing of note. She was having fun though. Not often one got an excuse to dance like it didn't matter and still have the right music. She was smiling from ear to ear and almost on the brink of laughter.

| Another night in the club. Figures; it was Shunnosuke’s favorite night hobby after all. Kind of like his own “particular infinite”, if that makes sense, even though the club had its own proprietor he never found out who is. That didn’t stop him from being a regular goer and get wild every Friday night. Weekdays from Sunday to Thursdays weren’t ideal to party due to school schedule, but Friday ...ah, Friday. After ending his turn at the family’s enterprise and making company to his grandfather back home, there was nothing better than going to the club. The hairstyle might have faced some changes, and even Shunnosuke’s character as well, but one thing would remain the same: his predilection for Wave’s Peak.
Way to forget every worry in his mind, be it family, school, Azores or even...him. Dancefloor has always been more terapeutical to him than an analysis session would ever be. All you had to do was listen to the music and move to the beat and that, oh boy, he did very well. Perhaps well enough to not care about people nearby him, often bumping on other dancers.— Hm? Oh, sorry, I-- — He couldn’t count, however, that one of these people he would have to apologize at was someone he knew very well... — You? Here? — Who would have guessed, of all people, Naomi was also a club-goer, huh? Another thing he found out about her they had in common. Shunnosuke was far from being sure of how to feel about it, but he couldn’t deny he was at least satisfied to find the girl. Perhaps his happiness from doing regular teenagery things overwhelmed him to the point he would even be friendly to people that normally would receive nothing from him but cold glares. People change, perhaps?

| Naomi was a bad dancer, but she didn’t think she was so wild about it that she would bump into other people. She would have to apologize to whoever it was. Before she could though, she would notice who it was. She had to do a doubletake to make sure it really was him, “Fancy running into you here.” She didn’t expect to meet anyone she knew tonight, “Do you come here often, or is this more rare than it should be in the first place?” She felt like this was some kind of special event. To recreate it would be near impossible. Or maybe she was just feeling that way. She was also feeling a tiny bit awkward since she didn’t know what to do with herself in the first place. It was... kind of weird. | |

| — Rare? Really now? You can always find me here, dear. Just go ask the barman, we are beeeest friends. — He snickered a bit, cocking an eyebrow at her response. If Naomi was close enough, she could notice the smell of alcohol near the teenager. Not the strongest smell of course, but noticeable enough. It wouldn’t be hard to match two and two together and realize the boy was partially drunk, enough to be friendly with her and not enough to lose his rationality. — What about you, hm? I thought all you nerds did was stay closeted in your rooms with the loyal company of your computers and videogames. Did they cut your internet off or are you just one of us normal people now? Oh! I knooow! You’re groundeeed~ But being grounded for nerds is being forced to socialize, hahahahaha! — He pointed at her in a mocking fashion. And maybe, just maybe, Shunnosuke’s drunk self wasn’t as different as his sober side... Except for the sonorous, irregular and high-pitched laughter. He'd never act as extroverted if it weren't for the sharp prodding of vodka. | |

| Naomi had to make sure she wasn’t crazy. This was Kurosawa, right? Had she gone into one of the worlds and run into his alternate self without knowing it? That would be weird. That was when she caught a whiff of alcohol on his breath. So that’s what was going on. Kurosawa was drunk off his ass. Well, as much as he could be considering he was standing up. Immediately, red flags were going up in Naomi’s head. She couldn’t help it. She was a really cautious person at times, “Okay, before I reply to that long string of whatever you just said, I have to know three things.” She held up two fingers, “How many fingers to I have up, without looking, what shoes are you wearing, and what do you think of my outfit?” She had to see how out of it he was. Those three things were what she could readily test him with.
As soon as she had an idea how far gone Kurosawa was, she would continue, “And, for your information, being grounded for me is… basically what you just said actually. Huh… I never thought about that before.” That was the first time she really thought about it, “And, excuse me, I work with computers. It’s how I make a living. For me, it’s like you and fashion. Only I don’t have to build mine. Well, I’m learning that.” She was very weirded out right now. How dd you deal with drunk people?

| Shunnosuke snorted at Naomi. What was she thinking, that he was almost falling drunk? He was still making perfect use of his mental faculties. You kind of have to in order to dance like Beyoncé on the dance floor, right? — Oh, please. Unless you’re an alien, you have five fingers there. I’m wearing the best and most expensive shoes in this hellhole and your outfit is still the most disgust—wait... — He took a better look at Naomi, staring at her up and down, from top to bottom. Not the easiest task with the fading lights of the club, but it was doable with a little bit of effort and perseverance. Once he realized what she had put on her body, he released another set of shrill laughter, this time not toning it as mockery, but a completely joyful laughter along with the campest mannerisms that were so like him. — Oh myyyyy~ Mini-shorts and this much of skin exposed? You sluuut! — Shunnosuke licked the corner of his upper lip, nodding his head in complete approval. He even tapped her on the shoulder amicably, a very factual proof that drinks can, for real, effectively change a person. — I like that! You’re looking like a real girl this time, not some crossdressing bitch! Have you gotten thinner? I could swear you were quite fat in the other attire, but now I can see your physique better, gurl, almost makes me wanna go straight. Almost being the key word here, because I still like what you like as much as you, HAHAHA! | |

| She would give Kurosawa a curious look based on his first two answers, “Either you’re sober enough to be a smartass or you’re so drunk you can't answer seriously. I’m not sure which is more concerning, honestly.” Either way, she was not letting him out of her sight. Did he have any sense of self preservation? You are never this drunk when you are out alone. Or was that a rule for just women? Well, he was kind of pretty (Naomi couldn't tell) so maybe it counted? What were the rules about this thing again? She had no clue. She used to just kick creepy guys in the nuts when she was younger. What was the rule for this situation. Screw it. She would figure that out if it happened.
On the other hand, what he said next confused her. She looked down at what she was wearing. Was it really different than what she normally wore? She supposed it was a bit more exposing for the legs but, “Considering I’m usually letting my boobs nearly fall out of my corset, you would think this would be the more modest one. Also, you just complimented me… I think... so I am officially proclaiming you drunk beyond belief. Also, I take offense to you saying I was crossdressing. Corsets are distinctly female.” She would not deny being a bitch. That she was. And she wore it proudly… in secret mostly. She would raise a mischievous eyebrow at him, “If you liked what I did, you wouldn’t be gay.” Just so they could clear that up, “Romantically speaking, of course.” An amused spirk would cross her face as she waited for him to piece that one together. If he got it in fewer than three tries, she would have to commend him.

| He rolled his eyes, not really listening to Naomi’s complaints. While he could acknowledge corsets are usually made to be part of female atire, Shunnosuke could very well digress. — Fashion has no gender, everyone can wear e-very-thing. I like wearing skirts and dresses, and girl, I rock at high heels. You should see me doing the catwalk. — He was so busy bragging about his features, considered amazing (and not in the good way) and unreachable for a regular male that he forgot the logic flaw in his thought process: taking the gender of clothes and outfits erases the meaning of “crossdressing” right away. — Wait...what? — Shunnosuke stared at her, at a loss of words. What did she mean by that? “He wouldn’t be gay”? Of course he was gay, and a very proud one! He liked men. M-e-n! And, in his mind, Naomi did too, she even had a fling with that redhead, gangsta tiny boy from the Velvet Room. Then, why would she say “if you liked what I did, you wouldn’t be gay”? She liked that boy, didn’t she? That boy is a man. Not the best man, or the most good-looking, but still one of them. Unless she didn’t like him for real, but something else instead. So...does that mean she...? — For. The love. Of Lady. Gaga! Oh no you didn’t! Did you...? — His eyes were as wide as ever, and his jaw could fall to the ground if it weren’t attached to his skull. She had time to confirm Shunnosuke’s suspicious before his agape mouth hinted a broad smile: — Did you just come out to me? SHUT. UP! Oh my, you’re a dyyyyke! I have a dyke frieeeend~! — He hasn’t realized the term might be offensive to some, he just blurt it out like that, clapping hysterically in euphoria. On the other hand, apparently his team is full of LGBT people. Sharaku being bi, Shun being gay, Hyde being...well, Hyde and now Naomi. Felt like a brotherhood of gayness all over, adding fuel to the teenager’s excitement. Wow, who’d have guessed Naomi was secretly lesbian? | |

| She would stare at him with a wide grin, “If fashion doesn’t know gender, how could I possibly ever be and/or look like a crossdresser.” She would love to see him explain that one. She was sure it would hurt his brain. Well, maybe not if he was sober, “Gotta say though. There is something special about a man in a dress. Not giving a fuck what the world thinks. I love it.” She had a soft spot for stuff like that. She noticed the look on his face though. It immediately told hr that he had reached the wrong conclusion. She would hold up a hand to stop him before he said anything too weird, “Not into tits, if that’s what you’re thinking. I still like a boy, remember? I’m pretty sure you remember that conversation. But please note how I said ‘a boy’. Singular. Not including the entire range of all that is male or female.” She knew Kurosawa would never get it on his own. Still, it was fun watching people get confused over her romantic interests. It was like watching them stare at a white piece of paper and trying to find the hidden ghost, “Although, I don’t blame you. Most people forget my kind exists. Hell, I don’t know if I exist sometimes.” Too many terms for things. She didn’t care enough to learn all the semantics, “Wanna take another stab at it, or do you give up?” She was having fun teasing him with it. She doubted he’d be satisfied until he got it. | |

| — That’s too philosophical for me. Don’t make me hard questions when I’m drunk! — He knew that much, just shrugging the question off promptly. If he was sober, he could perhaps think on a reasonable answer, but currently, he wasn’t even bothering trying to elaborate on that. And besides, he wasn’t on the dancefloor to have existential and deep conversations, he was there to drop it like it’s hot. On the following topic, he was equally confused, if not more. So, she didn’t deny liking that guy, which meant she currently had a straight interest in another person. Then...what exactly did she mean? So much for making him brain melt through his ears out, really. — So, you like a male. Whatever. I liked you better when you were a lesbian. — Did he want to “take another stab”? Maybe not, but he definitely had his curiosity poked enough to insist: — Just spill it. What in heavens are you? As long as it isn’t something bizarre and creepy like a pedophile or worse, I’m alright with that. | |

| She shrugged, “Hey, if you didn’t want to get philosophical, you shouldn’t have brought up the rules of crossdressing. Especially when you’re too drunk to keep up a coherent argument.” In other words, she won. Normally, she wouldn't pick on a drunk person, but Kurosawa made it too easy. She was a little shit when she wanted to be. Right now was definitely one of those times she wanted to be, “Well you’re no fun. I expected you to give up after the third try. Guess I need to readjust my parameters for your tolerance and perseverance. I’ll make a note of it.” She was obviously mocking him a little, but not with malice, “By the by, I was never a lesbian. You just assumed I was. Then again, that may have been due to poor wording on my part. Sorry. I tend to forget that people think the only options that exist for sexuality are gay and straight. I apologize.” She went through her head quickly to try and describe it, “I’m not exactly sure what it’s called, but I just like who ever I like. Can’t say it’s based on their body though. I don’t really see people as all that attractive and by the time I do I already like them. Not sure what you would call that.” She was bad with terms and she never quite found the one that fit what she thought of herself as. She thought there were too many terms anyway. Too confusing for her tastes. | |

| Shunnosuke would just roll his eyes at Naomi, not quite interested in the previous philosophical argument.
— Bla bla bla, what-eveeeer~ I’m already over it, honey, I’m more interested in what we’re talking now. So, you’re not a lesbian, alright. But you like a guy. And you say you can like anyone, but not based on their bodies…hmmmm… This is a tough one. You’re probably not bisexual, it seems more like pansexual, but but….hmmm… — He pondered about it, humorously assuming a reflexive (and considering his state, rather comical) posture before his mouth would twitch in a smile. Pansexual also didn’t quite define it either…or did it? He didn’t even know anymore and he seriously didn’t want to earn a headache overthinking such minimal details. — Argh, I give up. You're just a nerd to me. A nerd very different from the ones I've met. It’s quite odd, I can’t see myself with a woman. Like, never. And you know the funniest part, my grandfather tried to introduce me to some ladies about my age during the parties we hosted. Can you imagine it? Me? Flirting and kissing with a woman? Pffff! — If anything, he would rather be like them, mimic their class, their good style for clothes, but have a serious romantic commitment with women? Nope. That’s not an option in his book. Though, to not completely disregard Naomi, he understood the change in perceiving others as attractive based on your current feelings for that person. He understood that surprisingly well.

| She shrugged, “I gave up trying to understand what I am a long time ago. It’s too confusing and I don't care all that much. I am what I am and I am content with that.” Did her sexuality really matter all that much? As long as she was fine with knowing who she liked, she didn’t think it should matter. Hence why she never brought it up. She would laugh under her breath, “I can't see you with one either, and I’m pretty sure there isn’t a woman that sees herself with you.” Kurosawa radiated the gay aura. If anyone ever mistook him for straight, they would need to get their head checked, “What? Was he trying to arrange your marriage or something? I don’t know many parents, or grandparents, that go around trying to set their kids up with some random person. That’s so weird.” At least it was to her. How would that even work? On another note, “Did you at least figure out who did their hair and nails?” She thought that was what more girly people did, at least. She wasn't all that feminine. | |

| — Thank you! — Shunnosuke took it proudly as a compliment. If a woman sees herself with him, that’s probably because she identifies something stereotipically masculine on him, and boy, he wouldn’t enjoy it, oh no. He was proud to be a camp, effeminate gay for all purposes. — Yes! That’s how it is in the upperclass, dear, we don’t marry, we form finantial alliances. I wouldn’t mind an alliance with a hot, tall, rich guy, but can you believe Grandpa tried to set me up with a lady? That’s totally last century. Or the century before, I don’t even know anymore. Point is: I won’t marry a woman. Maybe if by some miracle I end up having feelings for one. — He seriously doubted it. Nope. Not a possibility at all. — Nope, I didn’t. Why would I ask that when I have my mother’s hairstylist at my service? She’s the best in Penecia. — He commented in a matter-of-fact, snobbish tone. Maybe if he started talking about hair and nails with his wooers, they would get a grip and immediately discard the idea. | |

| She raised an eyebrow, “You’re welcome?” She didn't know what there was to thank. She was just saying things to get his goat. She didn’t know anything she said could be taken seriously. This was quickly followed by a roll of her eyes, “Stop the presses. Disney lied to me. And here I thought the princess was supposed to fall in love with the most unlikely candidate and be whisked away in his big strong arms while being guided by the most powerful of all forces; true love. Oh wait. You aren’t a princess. If anything, you are the queen” Of snark, but she wouldn't say that, “so I fail to see why a marriage of politics matters. If your family is so smart and so rich, why can't you do your own thing?” She was actually a little angry right now and she couldn't tell why or at whom, “Woman up and throw your superiority in their faces. No one should be ordering you how to live your life.” She caught herself after that statement and rubbed her head while she thought to herself, “Wow, okay. Nevermind. Ignore everything I just so passionately said. I think I may have gone temporarily insane.” She would have to see a shrink after this. What was she thinking? Whatever it was, it obviously wasn't clearly, “Sorry. For some reason, I just had the sudden need to say all of that and be really angry about it. I think I’m becoming drunk by association.” That was a scary thought, “Also, Penecia isn't that big a place. I’ll bet you there is someone better out there you haven’t found yet. Probably hiding somewhere, all underappreciated because people think money makes the biggest difference.” Hint hint. Nudge nudge. Political marriages sucked! That, and she was making a comment on how Kurosawa shouldn’t make assumptions. | |
