Oddly enough, the Wave's Peak seemed almost quiet. Sure, there were still people swaying about to the music with drinks in hand and plenty of conversation going on, but for some odd reason the excitement was more toned down than usual. Maybe because it was a weeknight? ...Huh. Maybe he had something there.
Julian downed the rest of his water before plunking the glass back down on the counter top with a rather satisfying clunk. He sat in silence for a second, closing his eyes and focusing on the music blasting from the speakers. It felt kind of nice to just relax and push his current responsibilities to the back burner. Things had been too frustrating lately. Too aggravating. Too...stressful, really. A guy could only think about studying and investigating for so much until a little break was in order. And that's why the Wave's Peak was around, right? To help other people forget about their worries for a few hours and provide a little escape.
"Refill, please." he called out, flicking open his eyes and waving the bartender over. The male behind the counter gave him a withering look and cocked a brow, earning only a slight grin in reply from the teen. So what if he wasn't drinking any of the sweet or alcoholic beverages? He was still a paying customer, right? His drink choice shouldn't really matter, then. At least the employee didn't make too much more of a fuss about it; rather, he snatched up the glass and quickly filled it to the brim from a nearby dispenser before sliding it along the counter top and back to the dark-haired teen. Well, the service was still top-notch. // Jandice would probably be thrilled to hear that. // The thought made Julian's grin widen a fraction. Shame the club owner wasn't here tonight. She was usually pretty decent company and kept him entertained for a while.

Shunnosuke wasn't the type to party in a weekday — better, he shouldn't be, but after a few stressful situations and some recent events he'd rather not speak about, that's everything he needed. Whether you're an adult salaryman who stays busy at work from monday morning until friday afternoon or a teenager student who just wants to feel ahead of his time for once and free of his family, if you go to Wave's Peak you can only be searching for one thing: have a good time and forget the common week worries. That's Shunnosuke's case. Not like he had too much problems: no, he didn't. His lifestyle was bountiful, his appearance was far from something you'd throw in a garbage, his schoolar performance was pretty satisfactory, his parents were all but good-looking and polite people, what could possibly go wrong with his life, right? It's probably the most recurring — and dare say, irritating — argument the student would have to listen from envious friends. "Friends". If only people know what lied beneath his home door, they'd think twice before judging his life as perfect as it sounded...but it's a good thing they don't know. It's a good thing to be "perfect", or to pretend to be.
...but it's also a great thing to be yourself. One of the popular sayings is that on the dancefloor you can let your sweat carry away whatever troubles you, as long as you keep moving to the music. And that's just what Shunnosuke is doing, with a drink in hand, eyes closed, arms lifted to the ceiling and just moving his body with the flow. Alcohol did taste as great as always. Sure, the boy was still underage and shouldn't be allowed to buy an alcoholic beverage, but well, that's what fake IDs, an authority attitude and a well-known surname are for. What harm it could do to seek for a little fun? Probably the only one in the dancefloor enjoying the current soundtrack with a vivid passion was the teenager, and he didn't mind. The other people would probably stare at him, finding his behavior rather...out of control and awkward, and that wouldn't bother him at all.
What truly made him stop for a minute was the simple sight of a acquaintance in the same place as him, not too distant however, but enough to glance back at him if he decided to. He narrowed his gaze to see him better, though, trying to discern who was the familiar figure to him. When he realized where he saw that dark ponytail before in amidst the fading lights and, therefore, the identity of the young man sitting near the bar counter, the teenager just took a deep breath.
Julian.
Swallowing what's left of his drink in a single row, Shun would stand still, fiercely staring at his upperclassman until either of them decides to make a second move, which would probably take enough time as to give Shun a moment to think rationally of what to do. Damn, that caught him off guard completely...what now?

As the teen delicately picked up the glass and brought it to his lips for another drink, a sharp burning sensation sent a mild shudder racing down his spine. He froze for a second, letting the shiver pass before he sipped at his water and set the cup back down. // The hell...? // Oh, he knew that feeling. It was actually pretty hard to forget. Now the question was, why the hell was someone staring at him of all people? There were plenty of other people dressed in much weirder outfits or dancing strangely. Heck, he was probably one of, if not the most normal looking club-goer here. ...Was that why he was getting such sharp attention?
After a few moments of trying to ignore it, Julian figured whoever it was wasn't going to stop anytime soon. // Might as well get this over with, then. // Judging from the intensity, someone must be either really fascinated or really pissed at him. The reason for either one was a mystery, but so long as whoever it was quit it, it didn't really matter to him in the end. With that thought in mind, the dark-haired senior spun around slowly in his chair and faced the dance floor, keeping an almost bored look on his face as his eyes scanned the crowds for the source.
Disinterest caved in to mild surprise. Why was a girl glaring at him...? Squinting his silver eyes slightly to get a better look at her features, Julian studied her face for a second, trying to place where he'd seen features like that before. She looked familiar...
...Oh damn. He couldn't help but smile lightly at his mistake, succeeding in holding back a small laugh. No, that wasn't a chick; it was a guy, a classmate of his from home ec. Funny, he never pegged his underclassman as a clubber.
Set at ease with the knowledge of who had been staring him down, Julian gave a slight wave and a friendlier grin before waving Shunnosuke over. If the boy came close, Julian would gesture to a seat next to him for the teen to sit on. If he chose to remain on the dance floor, Julian would shrug lightly before turning back to face the bar and go back to quietly enjoying the music.

A friendly reaction, huh? Unexpected. But it only confirmed it was indeed Julian. Or a very similar approachable guy. Figures. Nevermind that, the situation was awkward by itself. Talk about an unfortunate coincidence, and Shunnosuke still had no clue of what to do as he kept staring the older teen for a little while, longer than expected moment, like a snake, with the glass containing his beverage still attached to his lips. Damn. What if Julian decides to open his mouth and tell everyone at school he saw the teenager dropping like it's hot in a nightclub? That'd ruin his reputation. No. Julian wasn't that type of person, was he? At least, he didn't seem to be. On the other hand, you can never know for sure. Taking his own family as example, looks can be deceiving. Shunnosuke himself could be a very good example of that saying, and there he is, worrying about someone else acting the same. If it were him switching places with Julian, he wouldn't hesitate to hold on that information and use it against the upperclassman and on his favor whenever it was convenient. Oh God, the younger started regretting his choice to visit a club at that time of the day. Seriously, Wave's Peak of all places...what are the odds...?
The song wouldn't stop playing as his indecision grew along with his dread and the people around would quickly forget his presence and go back to their own affairs. Still, he decided to just end this tight spot. He would walk through the crowd, as sinuous as a panther ready to pounce, often rudely pushing aside whoever was in the way and quickly making it to where Julian was sit.
— Soo...we meet again, huh? — The younger one said, with a mischievous, confident and, why not say it, fake smile upon his stretched lips. — Judging by your good guy facade, I would never expect you to be a clubber. The things you find out.

Seeing how Shunnosuke was content to stand there, Julian had figured the other boy was happier in the crowd rather than at the rather deserted bar and, therefore, returned to his own drink, allowing his eyes to close and a finger to tap out a beat that was only vaguely like the one being played over the speakers. Hearing a voice rather close to him, however, caused the dark-haired male to turn his head in the speaker's direction and open his eyes. A wry little smile played over his lips. "You'd be surprised at what you can learn if you poke around enough." He took a quick sip of water before shifting his torso more so in Shunnosuke's direction.
"You come here a lot or did I just happen to get lucky?" He wouldn't be very surprised to find out it was the latter; Lady Luck had a thing for him, it seemed, so the odds of that happening were actually pretty good. Then again, if he remembered right, Shunnosuke had lived in Penecia all his life. It wouldn't be weird for him to have started coming to this place a while ago in that case.

The young boy moved to Julian's side, with an equally perverse smirk blooming at the corner of his lips, soon resting an elbow over the counter's surface. He didn't say anything at Julian's first comment though, but obviously he'd keep that in his mind for a future reference. The second comment, though, made him quite surprised. Probably the boy didn't mean anything "between the lines", so to speak, but that's the way Shunnosuke took his words. Not that he would mind it at all; Shun was often quite bold in his random meetings, whether it was the club's atmosphere or the alcohol's influence. Or even his single desire of having a distraction from his problems. It wouldn't be the first time.
— Second option it is. But if you're a regular customer I might consider changing my habits. — He'd reply, in a rather straightforward fashion before sitting in the chair next to Julian. His eyes soon moved to his upperclassman's glass with some sort of...curiosity, to the point he raised an eyebrow and let a light giggle escape through his lips. Water? At a nightclub? Probably the older one was the cautious type, unlike him. Still, he found it quite...odd, considering the younger had a penchant for alcohol and would take any opportunity to have a taste. — What about you? Don't you wanna get drunk?

"Well then, guess I'll start keeping an eye out for you." Having someone around from school might not be so bad. That way, if Jandice took another night off, at least he'd have someone to talk to. Or, if he was in a foul mood, he would have an idea of who to avoid for the time being. Sounded like a win-win situation to him.
Julian blinked once at Shunnosuke's little laugh, tilting his head slightly in wonder. What had him so amused? Was there something going on in the crowd or something...? Before he could glance behind him, the underclassmen spoke up, sending realization coursing through him. Oh. That's what he found amusing? "And pass out just when the night gets good? No thanks." Julian chuckled lightly, dismissing the comment. Sure, he might've gotten away with drinking just a little, but why would he? There were too many calories and God knows what else in that crap. Water was always the better choice. "Is that why you came here?" The teen punctuated his sentence by taking a sip of his water and glancing over at the younger boy.

That so? That sounded like a rather cheesy response, but evoked in Shunnosuke quite an amused reaction, and a funny short laugh. He didn't necessarily feel like he needed someone to look out for him, but on the other hand, should it be an innuendo, it was rather...welcome. As odd as it sounds, he was a bit more comfortable now. Not enough to let his guard completely down, of course, but enough to face the situation in a more lighthearted tone.
— Hmmm...maybe. — With that sentence, he sat next to Julian, crossing his legs and making a prim gesture for the barman as a sign to fill his glass with some sweet-flavored liqueur — any liqueur, in fact, he didn't mind as long as it had alcohol. — Isn't that why everyone goes to a nightclub? Because we all want the D. — He'd glance at Julian, anticipating a shocked reaction to his seemingly inappropriate remark. Whether it'd come or not, not too long after Shunnosuke would stretched his lips in a mischievous smirk. — Drink and dance, I mean. Am I right?

As Shunnosuke took a seat next to him and busied himself with ordering another drink, Julian took a swig from his own glass. Huh, so the underclassman drank, huh? Not too surprising, considering the way he was talking, but it was still a little odd to see someone younger than him ordering the stuff. // Ah well. His figure, his life. //
It was a miracle--or maybe just luck-- that he didn't choke on the water sliding down his throat as Shunnosuke made an off-handed comment. Somehow the drink stayed on course and his features stayed relaxed, giving him the appearance of being unfazed at this new information. Geez, how could he blurt that out so casually? Weird kid. // ...Actually, this explains a lot... // Not to stereotype, but the fussing over clothes, the feminine looks, and the other odd little nuances suddenly made a lot more sense now. ...But seriously, what a way to find out.
"Ha, maybe for you." Laughing lightly, Julian pulled the glass away from his mouth ad set it down on the counter, grinning slightly. "I come for the music and the company." Dancing wasn't his specialty, anyways. Hell, he'd probably look like an idiot if he tried. And the drink was out of the question for now. After a few seconds, the dark-haired teen raised an eyebrow as his smile widened. "Guess you think that makes me a little weird, huh?"
Strength:
—Strength Name: Poker Face —Description: Since he’s always smiling, most people assume Julian holds no malice, ill-will, or any sort of negative feelings towards anyone. Even when he’s positively furious, he can seem perfectly at ease, and hide his emotions and thoughts extremely well. This comes in handy not only in real life, but whenever he plays a game; he can easily trick his opponents and "psych" them out (hence the nickname).

Once the bartender filled his glass — with a not too satisfied look, however, perhaps he was not convinced at all the kid was already over the legal age—, Shunnosuke would snatched it out of the man's hands and direct it to his lips, taking a small sip. Ah, it does taste good, indeed. The vanilla flavor opposed to the quick hot feeling the alcohol would bring down this throat mixed so well he didn't even consider offering the beverage to his upperclassman. Well, he wouldn't do it anyway, Julian already stated he wasn't into alcohol. Too bad.
— Na-ah. Wrong guess. — He'd shake his head softly with a cocksure grin. — I think you're just a nice guy. Way too nice for my taste... — He made it sure to emphasize the word "my" before taking a second sip. Good guys. He was never one of them, except if the current situation required so, and would never hang out with one, unless it brings some sort of benefit — whatever benefit it is. Good, stayed-in-line guys make him puke...but also make him want to corrupt them. There it is, his fun time of the night.
— Soo...you have my company, I have my drink. We have the music playing...all that's left is the dance. Unless you are that lanky, nerdy type who gets awkward on the dancefloor. — The teenager, setting his glass (not finished, though, but it could wait for later) back to the counter while staring fixedly at Julian, snerked at that thought, compressing a belittling, provocative laugh. The alcohol haven't started to exert its influence on the shorter one's behavior, it was all part of the student's customary teasing.

Oh? The last time he'd mentioned why he came to the Wave's Peak, he'd gotten a laugh and some odd looks. Julian expected the same from Shunnosuke, actually, only to be pleasantly surprised. "Nice guy"? ...Huh. He could live with that. Out of all the labels his classmate could have chosen, that was probably one of the tamest. "Haha, so I'm too vanilla for you?" His words were laced with amusement and a laugh underlined everything. Did that mean Shunnosuke preferred the eccentric, or maybe just the classic bad boys? Well, he couldn't really help there; sure, he had the look, he supposed, but the rule breaking was something he only did with a good reason. Looks like the guy was out of luck.
"I can dance just fine." He raised his glass and took a swallow before fixing a warm smile on his underclassman. "I just don't feel like it is all." Maybe the first was stretching it a bit. Sure, his cousins had taught him--what the hell did they call it..."pop-'n-lock"?--moves before, and there was the awkward middle school dances that taught him how the hell he's supposed to "dance" with a girl, but apart from that? Shunnosuke was sort of right, which mildly irked Julian. If this guy actually saw him dance, he probably would never hear the end of how awful he was at it.

"Vanilla". That's a good and laughable definition, indeed. Not too accurate, however. As much as the conversation goes, Shunnosuke actually found his upperclassman pretty entertaining once the younger teenager confirmed the guy was harmless to his reputation. All the tallest one needed was an extra little push to get as..."loose" as him. — Sort of. Though... — He'd say, softly rubbing the tip of his feet at the back of Julian's leg, in some sort of suggestive and insinuating fashion. At the same time, he would pick his glass of liqueur once again and lower his voice tone to match the exact situation in hand. — I'm sure even a vanilla guy can...surprise me. — That being said, Shunnosuke took another sip while maintaining the visual contact with Julian, paying attention to everything he was told. Honestly, he didn't buy that "I don't feel like it" argument, but it was amusing nonetheless. He was expecting an honest confession about Julian's inability to perform well on the dancefloor, not an obvious avoidance. "If you have nothing to owe, you have nothing to fear", right? In any event, it'd only fuel his urge to tease his school friend a little bit.
— That's a pretty discreet way to say I'm not your "type". — More provocative remarks; he was sure Julian would open an exception should the inviting person captivate his interest enough. However Shunnosuke's chuckling and playful response would make it clear that didn't bother him at all — it was more like he was facing that interaction as a game that had nothing to do with each other's preferrences and anything to do with ego and getting what he wants. Thus, he could blurt out a self-belittling sentence like that mainly because he didn't believe it — yes, he's that confident — and he was positive Julian wouldn't be offended by his boldness. — There are just the two of us here. No one else would know if you embarrass yourself on the dancefloor, don't worry.

...He should probably be bothered right about now, shouldn't he? After all, having a guy hit on him had never actually happened before (unless you counted the times his cousins were being morons). Huh...maybe that was it? Shunnosuke already said he wasn't his type; that meant right now he was just screwing with him, right? Trying to see if he could make him flustered or something. It probably would've worked, too, if Julian thought Shunnosuke was actually trying to flirt. Instead, he held the younger teen's gaze as a light smirk stretched over his lips. "Oh? Does that mean you'd like me to try?" Now he was a little curious. Just how far would Shunnosuke keep on this little act? ...Heh. Was it weird that he found this sort of fun?
The little comeback made Julian's mildly strained smile become just a little more natural. His underclassman might be a little snippy, but he was interesting enough to talk to. Not that he was fully convinced to actually go out and dance, of course--it would take much more than that--but it was still fun. "Guess you have a point..." Bobbing his head once in a slight nod, Julian paused for a moment as if thinking over the offer. Then he smiled brightly. "...Sort of. You forget I'm a regular here. If I look like an idiot, I'll probably get harped about it 'til the day I die. ...Or move. Whichever comes first." Not to mention Jandice would probably find out about it. She seemed to have her own little information network going on around here. If it got out that he wasn't exactly the smoothest dancer on top of being below-standard in the club owner's eyes when it came to women...dear Lord, that was a terrifying thought...

If Shunnosuke had any hint of doubts concerning Julian's being indeed a good dancer, that sentence erased it. He was the one who said he could dance, so logically he wouldn't look like an idiot and shouldn't worry about his reputation...unless his skills doesn't par up to his outer persona.
— Hm...you're the cautious type, I see. — He let a slightly wicked and short laugh slip thru. It just gave him a naughty idea. The boy gulped down his liqueur in a greedy manner and placed the glass upon the counter. Again, he made a quick sign for the bartender to collect it again, which the older male didn't like much. Already his second glass and he was still feeling fine..although he doesn't subscribe to the common definition of "fine". Shunnosuke wasn't still drunk to let the alcohol affect his judgment and rationality, not to the point he'd be blatant or too obtrusive; on the other hand, it enhanced his daring demeanor. With an affected mode, he cleaned the corner of his lips making use of his middle finger, only to stand up and get closer to Julian. Not too close, but enough for the upperclassman to notice the combination between the young guy's strong scent and a little bit of the smell of his beverage. — As for your previous question...yes, I'd like you to try. — By that time, Shunnosuke would take the liberty to surround Julian's neck with his arms, unless the older guy decides to do something in that respect. — Feel free...to start...anytime. — Shunnosuke punctuated in a whisper tone, giggling like a misbehaved children having fun with playing pranks on his neighbors. That was turning out better than he expected. Julian didn't want to face a shameful situation, huh? Well now, would that put the older boy embarrassed enough for him to give in to Shun's request already?

For a second, Julian thought Shunnosuke had given up and was about to go out and dance alone. After all, why else would he get up? His little theory, however, was quickly thrown out as the underclassman started creeping into his personal space. ...Was this supposed to be a way to psych him out? If it was, it wasn't really working. Sure, it was mildly uncomfortable having someone he barely knew invading his bubble, but Julian had already psyched himself up for a game of chicken at this point. Like hell he'd let a little discomfort get in the way of victory now! His nose scrunched slightly at the strong scents, however; if he could smell the liquor, that probably meant this kid had been drinking a little too much. Actually, now that he thought about it, wouldn't that sort of get rid of inhibitions-
"!"
Instinctively the teen tensed at the contact. Damn, he didn't think Shunnosuke would go this far. ...Wait, scratch that; he sort of expected something like this might happen. But considering it and actually going through it are two completely different things. Julian was definitely feeling more than a little uncomfortable; now, this whole thing was downright weird. For a second, he considered dropping the whole game and trying to untangle himself from the underclassman. The thought barely crossed is mind before he shoved it away. Was he seriously going to just give up? Now? This whole thing had barely started and he was already thinking of quitting? Oh hell no. That wasn't any fun at all, especially since he didn't win in the end.
After stumbling through his thoughts for a few moments, the shock wore away, allowing Julian to smirk slightly at the teen who currently had him in his grasp. "I'd love to...when you're sober." Turning his head slightly so he had a somewhat clear view of Shunnosuke's face, he continued, "I'd just hate for you to forget anything, y'know?" Now, whether or not the guy was the same type of drunk his mother was, he had no idea. Maybe he was special and didn't forget half the things that happened to him while he was intoxicated, who knows? Still, a excuse comeback was a comeback, right? That meant he had a little more time to figure out a way to avoid going on the dance floor and being in this awkward position for too much longer.
