Saving (Private) Lune (Mission Thread) - Page 3 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Saving (Private) Lune (Mission Thread)   Saving (Private) Lune (Mission Thread) - Page 3 EmptySun Aug 24, 2014 9:53 am

Was that so? ''I'd say it is possible to be both at once. There are ways to achieve anything.'' Sharaku would respon to Shun, even though he was not exactly sure as to what did that have to do with the younger being that harsh towards Rinna. Then again, he was not going to try to decipher someone's mental state in detail, for reasons. When the teen mumbled under his breath, he would look at him briefly. ''That depends on how you look at it, does it not?'' Normally, one would say Lewis was a bad guy, hearing what he had done. Though, it wasn't to be denied that it might depend on his reasons. Why was he doing this? Still, if he did not mean bad, why would he use such a method? Surely, one would know it'd get them branded as a criminal if they performed acts like these. It was all a mystery right now. They could just as well guess.

Rinna's answer to Sentinel helped no more either. If the man used only a knife, that told them nothing. Except raise the question as to why was he using such mundane methods when they were dealing with these worlds and all. So far, it appeared that only people with some kind of power could find a way inside here. Which would suggest Lewis had some...but not answer as to why he wouldn't be using it. Unless it was all even more complicated than that. And in all honesty, it could be. Anything could at this point. Even Rinna was a bit off. Surprisingly she wasn't really afraid of the Shadows on the horizons, even if she did not approach them. Had she been here before, or was she just pretending to be cool? Tsk, why couldn't things be straightforward at least for a damn moment. Riddles were annoying, mainly if he had to be solving them. He would look at Rinna briefly, as the android spoke back to her, but not say anything himself. He was curious but they had other things to deal with, and it was for the best to not irk her. It took them a while to get her to cooperate in the first place. ''Very well, let's go then.'' That was simple at the very least. Go and kick the Shadows down. Perhaps they could puzzle things out later. He did not neccessarilly want to get knocked down on his butt while thinking. Dealing with the danger first was a better option, since it was already around. He would follow after the android, though not invoking his own weapon yet. There was time still. As well as the damn Shadow being rather bright and colorful. Honestly, he would almost bet at times he would be a target just because of all that pinkish glow.

Saving (Private) Lune (Mission Thread) - Page 3 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Saving (Private) Lune (Mission Thread)   Saving (Private) Lune (Mission Thread) - Page 3 EmptySun Aug 24, 2014 3:59 pm

Shun would take a deep breath after Sharaku's sentence. For a moment, he would let the topic sink for a minute and pay attention at what their “person of interest” told about her involvement with the culprit.
So, Lewis almost killed Rinna not just once but twice? “Too bad people only succeed at the third time”, that's what Shun thought, a bit disdainful. He was still feeling bitter towards the girl, but even so, that contempt quickly dismissed and gave space to a different feeling once he noticed how injured and vulnerable she was. Lewis managed to put her in a serious damaged state and without a Persona. It only reinforced Shunnosuke's idea that, whatever he wanted with Lune, it was serious to the point he'd genuinely hurt (or kill) for that girl.

You're right. I guess we wouldn't know until we ask him personally... — He would say back to Sharaku, past that brief moment of stillness. Perhaps that's the best thing to do, given the best scenario where the culprit wouldn't reveal what he has been up until he was ultimately caught and with no possibility of escape. Pretty much like Scooby-Doo, in a rough and unwelcome comparison. The more the student thought about it, in silence, the more everything seemed off to him. First, how did Rinna enter the alternate world? It seemed to the young one not everyone was capable of travelling between both dimensions at will. In fact, he discovered the existence of the Alternate World the moment he travelled through the portals with Sharaku and, from what he observed, no one else before, apart from Hyde, has ever mentioned it exists, which leads to the obvious conclusion it's obviously something of restricted access instead of common knowledge. What sets the limits of that access is, most likely, whether you have some sort of “power” or not, hence why everyone who knows about it can be there at choice. Hyde mentioned it earlier during their last encounter too. The three of them — Hyde, Sharaku and Shunnosuke himself — shared the same “ability” to an extent; Rinna, however, didn't. She's just a regular human being and yet she is, dragged to a dimension they know nothing about. Plus, there's still the incident at the Rocky Caverns back in Penecia...

His thoughts were interrupted by Alphonse's command and the roaming of the shadows. He was hoping they wouldn't have to deal with such things again, as the first time was a bit “traumatic”, so to speak, but apparently they had no choice. The teenager concentrated and immediately the bright metallic chain materialized in his hands, the same he used in the previous incident.

Do we really have to go through it...? — Shunnosuke asked, holding it's extremity in one hand while the other was responsible to keep it coiled. One last try to avoid unnecessary combat wouldn't do any harm....literally.

Saving (Private) Lune (Mission Thread) - Page 3 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Saving (Private) Lune (Mission Thread)   Saving (Private) Lune (Mission Thread) - Page 3 EmptySun Aug 24, 2014 6:26 pm

Naomi wasn’t really interested in Sharaku or Kurasawa discussing if Lewis was a bad guy or not. Personally, she was just here to get Lune and Rinna away from the obvious danger that was this place. They could sit him down and question him after that. For now though, what he was or wasn’t didn’t seem like the top priority. Maybe that was just her though. Granted, she thought everyone deserved a chance, but kidnapping a girl and dragging her into an alternate world was a good way to get rid of what hope for humanity she had inside of her. In short: she really was not concerned with if Lewis was the good guy or the bad guy while he held Lune.

Oh, it just wasn’t a day in an alternate world with a visit from the friendly neighborhood Shadows. At least, it wasn’t to her. She had come to expect these kinds of thing, just like clockwork. At least they were manageable. She would look at the others as they approached the Shadows before her and summoned their weapons. Were none of them concerned about freaking out Rinna by pulling weapons out of thin air? Then again, that wasn’t the strangest thing about this scenario. In retrospect, it seemed pretty normal in comparison. At least, it was more normal than the rest of the day she imagined Rinna had gone through, “Maybe for this next part you should stay back.” She had faith that Rinna didn’t plan on fighting these things. No normal person thought that way. Heck, she didn’t think that way her first time. Intertwined had to coax her into it via freaking telepathy powers.

She would sigh at she called forth her own boomerang, “Unfortunately, you do. There aren’t a lot of paths to take and these things tend to block all of them.” She would answer Kurosawa’s question, “Trust me, if there was another way around, I would love it.” Then another thought came to her mind, “Hey, you guys, it just came to me, but wouldn’t Lewis not be able to get through this if all he had was a knife? I mean, every time I come across these things, they don’t seem to give to just a normal blade.” While it was phrased like a question, she was sure that meant that Lewis had more up his sleeve than just something he found lying around his kitchen. If he had that kind of power to get through the Shadows though, a normal girl like Rinna should have been no problem. She was alive though. Badly wounded but alive. Naomi was hoping that meant Lewis didn’t mean to fatally injure either of them. If that was the case, there was some hope that Lune would be perfectly fine when they found her.

PostSubject: Re: Saving (Private) Lune (Mission Thread)   Saving (Private) Lune (Mission Thread) - Page 3 EmptySun Aug 24, 2014 6:28 pm

Rinna looked to Naomi as she gave her recommendation, to which she shook her head. "Naomi, sorry. I will not sit back as you guys do the work for me." She gave Naomi a unwavering look. She did not even seem remotely surprised when the group summoned their weapons for battle. Maybe her mind was on something else or she was more worried about Lune at the moment. Regardless, she would walk on ahead, staying right behind the group as the Shadows transformed into large winged creatures. While Rinna looked a bit perturbed, she did not cower in fear, and instead nodded at them, as though she was confirming something. She simply looked at the team that would prepare itself to fight, and watch both them and the Shadows, and put up her own fists in a standard stance at the Shadows, showing no ounce of fear or worry in her eyes. This was why she was here; she had to save Lune. These people chose to help, and she did not intend to let them die either.

Shun would sigh at Naomi's response, anticipating that kind of answer already. — Well then... — He said, holding his chain tightly. Even past his first experience, the teenager still wasn't used to handling supernatural events, though it'd be inevitable at some point for them to meet those creatures. The presence of a big group would serve to make him feel a bit secure, more than the first time, but not much as the shadows turned into huge birds of prey, but...monstrous birds, abnormally big and with non-natural characteristics in their anatomy. — There are three... I guess that means it's one for each of you to turn into dust while I provide you moral support from a safe distance, thank you. — It could be interpreted as a playful comment rather than a serious insinuation he wouldn't fight if it was needed, but it's ultimately up to the group's mood. He could only hope those monsters weren't strong enough and would be killed sooner than he thought.

PostSubject: Re: Saving (Private) Lune (Mission Thread)   Saving (Private) Lune (Mission Thread) - Page 3 EmptyMon Aug 25, 2014 6:06 pm

When Rinna took up a fighting stance, against the bird like shadows, Sentinel would nod his head a bit, "If that is your decision, and I cannot sway you from your brave action then I will accept your help." When Kurasawa made mention of providing moral support and taking up a defensive stance, the android would keep that in mind. He figured Kurasawa was not very combat orientated meaning the other three confirmed Persona users would have to clear the path. Well Sentinel was known for taking a brute force approach when it came to dealing with shadows. Not much grace, just sheer power and fury. With that thought he would summon Odysseus to his side the Greek hero would peer at their foe before drawing a javelin from his back and throwing it at one of the creatures, regardless of whether it was on target or missed another would appear in the hero's hand, which he would throw at the same creature. The Persona repeated this process for each one of the winged shadows aiming for the wings hoping to bring them to the ground. At least they wouldn't get to soar through the air to evade the rest of the group's attacks.

Saving (Private) Lune (Mission Thread) - Page 3 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Saving (Private) Lune (Mission Thread)   Saving (Private) Lune (Mission Thread) - Page 3 EmptyMon Aug 25, 2014 7:56 pm

Rinna being all brave in the face of this was somewhat unexpected, even if it probably could have been evident, as she had been putting up a fearless face from the start. Still, to want to fighht Shadows without an appropriate means to do so was a bit..reckless? But, Sharaku could admit she sure had guts. That, at the very least was commendable, even if such an action was rather risky. ''Feel free, but be careful.'' There wasn't really much to say. He didn't expect her to turn back, even if all of them told her not to try and engage in this battle. She was already tagging along, so it was pretty much all the same. It wasn't like she could just hide when they came across the Shadows. Shun was all 'moral support' a moment after, which was even more surprising. So, he wasn't fighting? This was something Sharaku wasn't exactly getting at the moment, but there was no time to think it through. ''And if there were four....?'', he would ask offhandedly as he turned towards the Shadows himself, Sentinel already being on the offensive. ''I think he's just being a wimp, that's what!'' A good reminder that his own 'ever so friendly' Shadow was up for battle. ''When did I ask for your opinion...?'' He should really search for a way to gag the thing. It would be rather satisfying...for many reasons. Tough even one look at the weapon, now in all his 'pink' glory reminded him that there was nothing he could probably do. How do you shut something that doesn't really have a mouth up? How dissapointing. Either way, that was something to worry about later. Shrugging it off for now, he would turn towards the battle, sweeping an array of sharp ice shards at the three flying Shadows. If he couldn't get rid of one annoyance, he could at least try to make some ice cubes out of others. That always lifted the mood a bit.

PostSubject: Re: Saving (Private) Lune (Mission Thread)   Saving (Private) Lune (Mission Thread) - Page 3 EmptyMon Aug 25, 2014 8:36 pm

“Fine, but if those things even look like they’ll cause you problems, turn the other way and put some distance between you and them. Please.” She could at least do that much. The part of Rinna’s brain that should be telling her not to mess with the giant birds of obvious doom was turned off. Actually, that didn’t seem to be the only thing turned off at the moment. She showed almost no fear in the wake of seeing Shadows for the first time. That was unusual, “I know this may not be the time or place, but since it’s happening right now, I need to ask you something. Why are you not reacting to any of the clearly weird stuff happening?” Naomi found it just a little odd. Even if she had been dragged into an alternate world and was chasing a man with a knife, this was not something one simply got over and was ready to take on. She at least needed to know why Rinna was acting so… not weirded out by all of this. Now they would have to be even more careful about this whole mess. Why couldn’t she just stand back and leave the fighting to the professionals? Not that she would even call them that, but they were at least more experienced than her.

Oh well. She would just have to hope that the Shadows would go for the front lines instead of Rinna behind them. That was assuming they couldn’t kick all of their butts at once. Naomi would call Intertwined out from the card that was now in front of her. The two bears were more than ready to pick a fight with the birds. That actually made her thing of a strange question. Were bears and eagles natural enemies? She didn’t think so, but they seemed to like the same food, so maybe they fought for resources. She really needed to look that up later. That wasn’t the point, though. What she wanted was for her Persona to show those Shadows who sat at the top of the food chain.

Moving up to the team, Rinna would take a swing of her fist to one of the eagles, aiming perfectly for the Shadow and hitting dead on….but the punch would prove ineffective. Rinna jumped back to the team, nodding and cursing under her breath, not looking annoyed or disappointed that her attack failed. Actually no, she nodded and kept her fists up as the Shadows seemed to take different targets and make their own strikes. She watched the Shadows and the team, making great effort to not lose any details of the fight. Rinna was sure that the creatures probably wouldn’t do anything serious at first; she had no rationale behind that, it was just a gut feeling. It was rather crazy how incredibly strong-willed Rinna still was in the face of these monsters attacking her allies.

Excuse me, but this is not a walk in a park for some chit-chatting. — He said to Naomi in a rather arrogant tone, fixing his hair and clothes after that abrupt strike. It was offending, to say at least, that she's taking those things too lightly for his taste while their physical integrity — precisely, his physical integrity — was threatened. Should she be the one to be hit in the flank like he was, of course she wouldn't remain in high spirits. On the bright side, two of the Eagles were destroyed, including the one who assaulted the teenager, which was sort of a relief for him, thanks to the team effort...if it weren't for the last one remaining, who decided to make Rinna its new victim after being provoked by her words. Oh Gaga, won't that girl ever learn that she's not picking a fight with some random kid? These are really dangerous monsters and courage is the last they needed from her right now, please! — For Cher's sake, what in Heaven does she think she's doing?? Andromeda, help her!! — As he called his Persona again, the floating lady would make her second appearance, this time aiming to support Rinna. Hope she could learn from that mistake and stop playing the "brave heroine" role.

Well these shadows didn't go down from that barrage of fire? Fine, that if they wanted to be that tedious then they could get a second round of pounding for all the android cared! One of those dang birds actually came down and struck him with its talons, a minor nuisance that stung a little bit. He would reach up and try to grab that damn bird, but it flew out of his reach after dive-bombing him. If he was just a little bit faster he would have grounded that bird permanently. When a bright light covered him he would give Kurasawa a thumbs up with his armored gauntlet. "Hit them again!" He shouted at the group encouraging them to press the assault  against these shadows, they had them on the ropes. The android highly doubted they would be able to survive another barrage of attacks like that. Odeyssus appeared by Sentinel's side and leapt forward striking all the shadows with a flurry of attacks from the hero's bronze spear.

Sharaku had heard Shun's inquiry about that little statement, but it had to wait for a while. Those three were apparently tougher than they initially seemed. One of them even avoided his attack. Why did Shadows have to be so bothersome most of the time? It would be much better if they could just get this over with. However, it seemed that these guys liked to complicate their efforts, if nothing else. Well, at least he managed to avoid having a bird in his face, which was a decent compensation to missing one of them as well. ''Insulting chikadee's, are we now?'', he would mutter absentmindedly, hearing Shun curse at the Shadows. He didn't really have time for much else than that, not in the middle of a battle. Except to maybe briefly wonder about Rinna's courageous punching, that sadly wouldn't do anything on their own.

Hopefully, these things would go down after this. Talons were not exactly pleasant, even if he hadn't gotten hit this time. Birds were usually pretty...not including exceptions like these. That said, he would offer them another dose of icing. Frozen birds would maybe look interesting....

And still, Rinna tried to attack. She had to give her this: the woman had guts. In any other situation, Naomi would love that about someone, but not now. It was actually making their job to protect her a little harder. If only Rinna would learn from her assult and take a few steps back so that they could take care of this while she was safely away from them. That would be wonderful right now, but it didn’t look like it would happen. Oh well. That just meant that Naomi was going to have to hit the Shadows a lot more to keep their threat to a minimum. Didn’t want this getting out of hand now.

A small laugh would leave her lips as she listened to Kurasawa and Sharaku speak, “You know, I’m usually the one to have a normal conversation when we’re being targeted by these things. Nice to see that I’m not alone anymore.” At least they were finding some humor in what was happening around them. It was a refreshing change of pace. Despite getting bashed around by these things, someone had to keep up the happy mood.

Rinna called out to the remaining Shadow. “Right here! Quit being a bitch and fight!” Rinna kept her fists up as the Shadow turned to her and flew at fast speeds, attempting to claw her with its talons. If successful, she would be slashed across her face and sent to the ground several feet from where she stood. Though assuming the hit wasn’t critical, she would pick herself up, with some struggle due to her wound, and clutch it after getting up, nodding once more. If she dodged it, she’d remain focused on the Shadow.
