| Julian Remming all things considered, probably made it smoothly to his current location. In his sleep he would not notice a thing in his sleep, except hearing a small humming in his sleep before suddenly turning into small whispers. If he woke up during that time, his current location would be entirely different. The temperature would be comfortably warmer, the room would be small but cozy, with beds, a set of lockers, and lights. The first thing Julian could hear if he woke up from the whispers is small phrases, from two voices. A female voice was whispering in a hushed tone, but it was obvious in her tone she was frustrated. “I told you….to ask him…..bring him…..not kidnap…” she said. The male voice was a bit louder and easier to catch. “He was asleep at the time. If the other side got help first-“ “Would it be worth kidnapping the poor man? He’s going to be horrified now…” she said a bit louder. Turning to Julian if he were awake, she would give a look of slight panic, but sigh lightly and turn to the male, who was not in full view, so a good look could not be gathered. “You will be reprimanded appropriately later. Wait outside,” she would say before closing the door, essentially kicking the male out before walking over to the man and kneeling to look over him. “Are you okay? Please do not get anxious. I did not mean for you to come here this way…” she said. This woman clearly looked either seventeen or eighteen. She had violet eyes, brown hair that fell to the middle of her back, which if looked closely, one could notice some grey streaks in the hair. She wore some kind of uniform, kept in fair enough condition, albeit dirty in some areas, and had a calm expression mixed with noticeable worry. “Forgive me please. I did not know you were going to be taken against your will. I was going to meet you myself. But…if you’re willing, will you please stay here and let me explain? If not, I will take you back to your home immediately,” she said. She would then remain silent with her look, as though Julian was a child and she was the mother. She also did not want to overload his head after this trauma. She would have no issue returning him and looking for someone else. Maybe this was a bad idea. She prayed that it would prove to be a good one. She would instinctively put her hand on his forehead to check and see if he was at all hot, along with grabbing his right wrist to check his pulse. Would he refuse either of those actions, she would pull her hands back and give an apologetic frown. “Sorry. I was worried, but it’s good to see you are well,” she would say. Afterwards, she would return to her calm stare, that looked actually a bit more confident before, like this was something she was preparing for. Was she? What was going on here?

| // Dammit, dad...// Julian's cheek twitched at the male voice, his mouth turning downwards in a slight frown. Couldn't his father be just a little quieter? He had asked him to keep it down and all, seeing as he went to bed so early... The teen yawned and reached out a hand for an extra pillow to shove over his ears. There was normally one right next...huh. Oh, it must've fallen on the ground. He reached out a hand, groping blindly at the floor. Alright...not there...must be farther... Julian stretched his arm as far as it would go, his frown deepening as his search ended in failure. Where was that stupid thing? Oh, great, his dad was talking to a wom-
...Woman?
"Whoa-!" Whether it was the realization that his father, good old single Matthew, was talking to an actual girl, or the fact he was still really drowsy, Julian tumbled off the bed, just barely managing to throw a hand in front of his face before his nose collided with the floor. ...Ow...alright, not the best way to wake up...well, at least he was sort of coherent. Now he could get a look at this lady. Julian raised his head, blinking away some traces of sleep, only for his silver eyes to widen at the really unfamiliar room.
// ...What the hell... // Alright, unless his dad was a magician, there was no way his room could change so drastically in such a short time. Meaning that there was either A) some weird place in his house that his dad hadn't bothered ot tell him about for who knows why, or B) this was a completely new place. And right now, he was strongly doubting it was A.
His ears hadn't been wrong; there was a girl standing at the entrance of the room. And...and she was wlaking over. And Julian had absolutely no idea who she was. He pushed himself into a sitting position, and leaned back as she kneeled over him, so his back was just pressed into the bed frame. Oh...oh great, she's talking. Asking him if he's alright or something. ...And what did that mean, "she didn't want him brought here this way"? Much as he wanted to demand answers, he figured it was best to just wait and see what she wanted. For all he knew, she was the one who brought him to this place. "...Mind telling me where I am?" Kudos to him, he sounded more calm than he felt. Much more calm. He rested an arm across one of his knees as she started speaking again, listenign intently. ...Alright, this wasn't weird at all. 'Course not. But right now, he couldn't see much of a reason to try and shove her aside or something. He'd heard a guy's voice, right? Must mean she's got someone waiting outside. It'd be best to play along for now. "I'm listening."
Julian followed her movements cautiously, watching to make sure she didn't do anything weird to him. So far it didn't seem like she had anything in her hands, but it'd be kind of stupid right now to trust her completely. Yeah, she seemed nice enough and whatever, but she was kinda tied to him being in a strange place with absolutely no idea of how he got there. That kinda puts a damper on the whole trust thing, in his opinion.

| She took a deep breath in a sort of relief. At least he was very much taking it well. Unless he wasn’t and inside he secretly wished to hit her, which she could not possibly blame him for. “My name is Emmilene Dulrish. I do not want to catch you off guard, though I know I will, but you are not in your own world. You are in another world that your world seems to have made a connection to. Your family at your home in your world are safe, so worry not. But my comrades have well, taken you here somewhat on my command. I was going to meet you myself and request your help, but one of our new members took too much initiative and took you by force. I will make sure they recieve proper punishment. I will also try and make this as quick as possible so you do not worry your loved ones for being absent if they don’t find you,” she said, holding a hand out for a handshake which would be gentle and warm should Julian take it. Continuing on, she would explain in a hope to give as many details to him. “It seems portals opened up in this world-My world leading to one of your islands in your world. Seems our worlds are a bit similar,” she said, giving a light smile to try and lighten the impact.
“However, I think in your world, there are portals that lead to other worlds. The portals on the island that lived where you did seemed to show images of a world completely unlike ours. Maybe your world is going through something that we aren’t. Then again, we are going through our own affairs at the moment. The portals to this world seem to lead to your island Penecia. Funny, this island had the same name. People call it Ground Zero, the Promised Land, or other very ominous names now. If it helps, you can still call it Penecia.” She would stand up and move to one of the open lockers and pulled out a bottle of water and a small loaf of bread big enough to fit in one’s hand and return to the floor where Julian was to offer it to him. “It is safe. I promise. I know you must find it hard to trust me. As I said before, I can take you back to your own world and you can pretend this was just a dream. You probably do not see the portals yourself, so you are able to go back and live a normal life if you want that,” she suggested, still holding the rations to him should he take them. Sometimes the new recruits just enjoy ruining plans that she makes. It was quite troublesome. She could only wait until Julian eventually came to terms with it or said something.

| ...Oooookay. This was great. He'd been dragged from him home and into the clutches of a girl who seemed to be a little lost upstairs. What she was saying was completely insane. Other worlds? Seriously? It sounded like a bad Sci-fi flick. Exhaling heavily, he halfheartedly returned her handshake, but looked at the ground as she continued. She seemed sincere enough, but this could easily be a trick or something. It was how a lot of people developed Stockholm Syndrome and weird stuff like that. It didn't hurt to have his guard up for now, until this girl presented some actual proof of these insane claims.
His eyes followed her as she went to a locker. Instinctively his fingers curled against the floor, his body tensing should he have to get away fast. Oh...no weapon. Just food. Julian accepted the bread and water, mildly put off by her little comments. She hit the nail on the head; it was hard to trust her. But she was basically offering to let him go, too. This wasn't a freaky mind-game, was it? Luring him into a false sense of security before doing who knows what?
Setting the water on the floor, the teen used his now free hand to comb his bangs back, letting his fingers rest for a moment before dropping his arm. "Alright..." He rubbed at his forehead for a minute, trying to go over all of the things she said. "So...just so I have this right...your name is Emilline," he began awkwardly ticking points off on his fingers, one hand still holding the bread, "I'm in some alternate dimension/alternate world of Penecia, this other world/dimension is connected to Penecia and other places via portals, and...I've been brought here without my prior consent or knowledge because of one of your...'subordinates'." There were air-quotations around that last word. Alright, repeating it all didn't make it sound less insane. But it did almost make it sound...10% plausible? After all, scientists have always talked about a countless number of dimensions existing; it was just no one had a way to actually access them.
Julian was quiet for a few seconds. Emilline hadn't sounded crazy or anything when she was talking. And would a raving lunatic be able to hide all her lies so well? She would've let something slip, right? ...Of course, psychopaths were good at hiding things, so that really wasn't the point. But now he was actually kind of curious. Wary, but curious. He looked up at the girl, taking a deep breath before he said anything. "...You need to answer some things for me." If she agreed to his questions, he'd nod and start talking again. "Why am I here?" If she refused to answer anything, he'd shrug and look away. "Fine."

| She slowly nodded at his recount of what had happened. The way he put it, it sounded like he was still not believing it. She could perhaps prove it to him if she wanted. She had to in order to get any trust from this man. But she would have to answer any questions he had first, lest she lose any hope of trust he can give. “You are here because I require your help. This will require some explanation. Please, follow me,” she would say standing up, and offering him a hand if he needed help as well. Turning around, she would open the door, leading into what appeared to be manmade hallways that seemed to go on no matter how far Julian looked. Were they underground? When outside if Julian were to follow, he would get a better look at the man who Emmilene was just speaking to. He looked about Julian’s age, with a shade of black hair and dark green eyes. The boy had an average-looking body. She would turn to him. “Alex. You are to come with us.” Her words were smooth enough, but they carried a very heavy undertone of command and respect, like she was born with this natural talent. Alex, seemed to look down for a moment of embarrassment, the red obvious on his face, before giving an annoyed look at Julian. Nonetheless, he followed behind the two as they walked. “This world has gone through a huge change in a short time. This island was recently destroyed by the work of two….how shall I put it? …Gods,” she said looking to Julian, moving some grey hair in the middle of her face to the side.
“There is one God. Philemon. He is for lack of better less abstract terms, the God of our Ego. Do you know when you deal with hardship you put up a sort of mask to protect yourself? A different personality perhaps? The proper term for that is “Persona”. Philemon allows us, to use our Egos as power, and manifest them as various Gods or Demons to fight for us. It sounds dangerous, but the power lies in all of us. Only some are able to awaken to it. Everyone apart from you in this bunker has access to that power. Even him,” she said looking back to Alex, who was looking around at the hallways, not really paying much attention to them. She took a moment down the hallway to stop and take a small pause. “Philemon is our good side. He is the manifestation of our hopes, dreams, and wishes. However, there is another God..Nyarlathotep,” she paused, letting the word “Nyarlathotep” slip out like she had no choice but to say it. “He is our destructive, chaotic side. The side that caters to the selfish needs of ourselves. He gives others power; Personas as well, to fight those under Philemon. It is this conflict between the two gods, and those who have their power that brought this island to its end. Come, I shall show you,” she said. From there, she would continue to walk, Alex following her until hitting a fork in the hallways, and making a left. If Julian followed, they would in a short time come across a door leading to a small elevator, almost tube-like. It seemed like it could barely fit two, but Emmilene would step aside and let Alex in first, while she would look to Julian and see if he would join her and walk in as well.

| // Looks like we're moving. // With a mild sigh Julian accepted the girl's hand, hauling himself to his feet. His head spun just a little, but that was easily taken care of after a second of staying still. Maybe it was a good thing he hadn't bothered changing when he went to sleep yesterday. Yeah, his shirt and jeans were kind rumpled, but they were better than the shorts he would've been wearing otherwise. Plus he still had his converse on, which was another bonus. Who knew that being kinda lazy could come in handy when you're kidnapped?
There wasn't really anything else he could besides follow Emilline. The only way out he could see was through the door anyways, so a mad dash for the exit was out of the question. And there was still the question of her guy friend still lurking around. No doubt if Julian did something to Emilline, that guy would be on him in two seconds flat. And who was to say he was the only one? The way Emilline was talking before made it sound like she had her own little group in...whatever place this was. Yeah, best not to try anything until he knew what he was up against.
With his hands shoved into his pockets and his features relaxed, Julian looked completely at ease with his surroundings. He didn't even flinch when he saw what was outside the door, and he did nothing but look at the teen--"Alex" was his name, apparently--when Emilline requested he follow them. Oh great, he's got a tail. Or a guard. Whichever it was, it didn't matter; the point was that there was someone behind him, and that made it downright impossible to keep his eyes on both Alex and Emilline. Well, if he got stabbed in the back, he'd know it was Alex.
Again Emilline started with her crazy talk, this time throwing Gods into the mix. Alright, this was definitely sounding like something out of a cheesy action movie. Or maybe one of those books his dad was really into. Her story was steadily getting harder and harder to swallow. But he listened anyways, nodding every so often so she'd know he was paying attention. Weird and senseless information indeed, but information was information. Who knows when this could come in handy?
It didn't take too long to reach a pretty cramped looking elevator at the end of the hallway--actually, "tunnel" might be a better word. Emilline seemed like she was waiting for him to get in now, even though it looked like Alex was already taking up most of the space. ...This wasn't going to be pretty. With a resigned sigh, the teen walked into the elevator and waited for Emilline to join them. He was pretty sure this wasn't going to end well for him, but right now, there weren't a whole lot of other options that worked in his favor.

| Joining him, she seemed to be able to fit well enough, as her figure may have been a bit thinner and more lean than her clothes seemed to give away. Pressing the upper of two buttons, the door to the elevator would close, and begin to ascend. “I only ask you to calmly prepare yourself. You will see what I mean about this world,” she said. For the rest of the lift, there would be complete silence, until it stopped, opening to what appeared to be an abandoned floor of a building, gathering dust and several boxes. The room was large enough, like it used to be some office building that housed cubicles. The reason Julian could tell he was on a higher floor of a building was because after Emmilene left to walk near a large enough window, he would be able to see out said window ahead of him the state of the city he was currently in. It was horrifying. Dead. Destroyed. Broken. A complete wasteland, hardly something you’d imagine living in. The city was ruined. If Julian looked at Emmilene, he could see that her face….saddened actually. “This is the state my world is in, due to the conflict between the two Gods. This is why I have called upon your help…” she said turning to Julian.
“What I want, is this world to be fixed. I want the forces of the Crawling Chaos to be defeated, so this world can be repaired, and we can move on into a new stage of life. I do not want our history to be locked in a permanent state of demise and ruin,” she said, her words becoming slowly more passionate by the second, before she took a silent breathe to calm down. She’d turn back to Julian and gauge any reaction he may have at this point. “I want your help to save this world. And even were that not possible. I want you to at least survive what is going on in your own. I do not know what is happening, but I can tell you your world was probably not the only one affected,” she said. “I can help you unlock the power of your Ego, your Persona. I can help you gain something to defend yourself in your world and here. If you do not wish to help, you can help others in your world join the cause if necessary. If you bring them to me, I can bestow their Ego to them as Personas as well. I shall also reward you if you want one,” she explained before pausing. “I must warn you though, there is one caviat to this power. When the Gods gave us our powers, they each selected one person to work as their “champion” so to speak, and recruit people by awakening their powers. We both now have forces to fight one another because of this. However, if I were to die, then the power bestowed on everyone, including you, and anyone of your world I have given it to, will vanish. It will be gone. You can return home and acquire it yourself over time if you want. I do not pretend to know what you want, so you have a choice. I can grant you this power now, or I can return you safely to home, and let you decide. The choice is yours and yours alone,” she said, turning away to look out the window. She would know whether he wanted to or did not. All she wanted to know was his ultimate decision.

| It wasn't the most comfortable ride, but all things considered, it wasn't so bad. Thank goodness this girl was small enough to compensate for his height. And the fact that no one tried to knock him out or kill him or something was kind of a plus. Unless they were waiting until they got to their destination for that or something. Which was possible. Crazy people were kinda hard to predict.
Finally they arrived at whatever place Emilline wanted and the doors slid open. It took some willpower not to practically jump out of Alex's reach and instead exit like a normal person. You know, not all panicked like. Keeping one hand in his pocket, Julian combed the fingers of his other hand through his loose hair and trailed after Emilline, glancing around the room for anything suspicious. Well, more suspicious than this already was, that is. The boxes around th room were big, but not big enough to hold a person. Hopefully no one would be pulling a Metal Gear today; he had enough to worry about as is. There wasn't any furniture that he could see, so he didn't have to worry about any surprises there. Now all that was left was to figure out where Emilline was he-
...
"The hell...?" Julian murmured. As much as he knew he should still be on his guard, it was hard not to stare at the picture outside the window. It was...God, was there a word for this? It was just...awful? Bad? Terrible? ...No, those didn't do this justice. Almost as if in a trance, Julian just barely managed not to stagger as he started towards the glass, resting a hand against it and peering across the broad, dead expanse of land.
And he thought hearing Emilline talk about Gods and other worlds was insane. Which it still was. It just wasn't as freaky as this.
Throughout Emilline's speech, all the teen did was stare out the window. How could a whole city be just...leveled like this? Maybe an army or something could do this--hell, didn't they do that in World Wars?--but even then, this looked even worse. Like someone had ripped the soul out of this whole place. Yeah, he wanted proof that this girl wasn't a nut job, but...not this. Statistics or a demonstration or something, but...this was kind of a lot.
Julian passed a hand across his face, pinching the bridge of his nose and trying to get rid of the headache that might be coming on. Information dump indeed. "What happened here...is it going to happen in, uh...my world?" Now he was struggling to use the right terms here. Guess paying attention really did come in handy. He lowered his hand slightly so he could look at Emilline as she gave her answer. "And if I say yes to your offer and something happens to you--which, of course, I don't want--would I still be able to get my...Ego back? As in, acquire it myself over time?"
If the answer to the first question was yes, Julian would glance one more time out the window before looking back at the girl. "So where do I sign?"

| Emmilene turned to Julian as he spoke. “I do not know. I suppose it is possible. But anything is possible in your world. I am sure whatever crisis might be going on, you can surely save it with some help. Do not expect this to happen to yours, not when there is at least one person able to stand against it. It is too late for my world. Something else must’ve got to it fir…” she trailed off. She thinned her lips lightly at Julian’s next question. The thought of death didn’t really sober her up. Actually, it was more like she had accepted the idea that it could all end for her and Julian was just reminding her. “Yes. You would lose all current progress you’ve made with your current power, but it could easily be nurtured once more. The power of Persona is unique like that. Humanity has many facets of their Ego. One needs only to look,” she said. She maintained her violet-eyed look on Julian. “You must assume responsibility for the choices you make. That is a personal request from me, to you.” Shen then turned away from him, to walk away from the window only to stop around ten feet from him and turn again to look him dead in the eye. It was time to begin.
In an instant, a card would appear in her right hand, depicting three animals and a single angel, surrounding a human-like figure. This card even Julian could tell emanated amazing power.
The card would shatter, sounding like glass, and from there, a blue aura would glow from Emmilene, and a blue circle, beginning from her would form a ring on the floor, with Julian on the opposite end of the ring, glowing a deep blue. She would raise her right hand and point a finger above, staring along with it. In a brief flash, a card would float down from above to the middle of the ring in Julian’s eyeline.
The card would shatter in a blue light, and in its place, a figure would appear in front of him, with a mischievous smirk on his face, his eyes fixated on Julian. Julian couldn’t place his finger on it, but the figure, he knew almost intimately.
“Why hello there. I guess you and I are going to be together. Make sure that you make it fun and exciting for me if you would,” he would say before vanishing, a blue light glowing over Julian for a brief moment. The power of Persona was now his. The circle would then fade, and the aura around Emmilene would stop glowing. And she would give a small smile. “Are you well? The Devil Arcana? An Arcana of urge, impulse, and temptation. Yet it is also a card of true commitment. I did not expect this Arcana from you,” she said, walking a few feet closer to him. The “contract” was formed, and Spring-heeled Jack was now Julian’s power.- Skill Used:
Power of the Ego | Can be used to awaken one's Initial Persona from their Ego and give them the ability to use it | 50 SP | Tier 4

| Julian kept his eyes locked on Emilline's, nodding slightly at her condition. It was fair enough. No one should have to deal with his mistakes or take credit for his glory. His decisions were his own. So long as he kept that in mind, there would be no trouble following the stipulation.
For a second, he thought the girl was going to get something from a box. Instead she just walked so far away and stared at him. What was he supposed to do now? Recite something or-? Oh, wow. She was quick. Had that card been up her sleeve this whole time? Julian narrowed his eyes slightly, trying to peer closely at what Emilline was holding. ...A tarot card? He couldn't think of any other card that would have such an ornate face. // ...Please don't tell me she's going to try and have me make a contract with the cards or something... //
He couldn't help flinch at the shattering sound. What just happened? He didn't see anything crash or fall. Maybe something in a box? After a quick glance behind him, it was relatively clear that nothing there had moved. ...It couldn't have been the card, could it...? He didn't have much time to consider the possibility before the floor lit up. Immediately he jerked back, widening his eyes at the sudden design on the ground. Where did this come from? A quick glance at the ceiling proved there were no lights doing this, and he couldn't see a projector or candles or anything. Unless they had some really high-tech stuff here--which he doubted, since the city was pretty much gone--there was really no logical answer for this besides all that God stuff Emilline mentioned. Before, he was just worried about keeping his home safe, so he agreed to the whole "persona" thing without a second thought. But now he couldn't help but wonder if he'd made the wrong choice here. What had he gotten himself into...?
Another card floated down. It was closer than the other one had been, so the design was easier to see. Not that it was any more comforting. What a weird picture. Just as soon as it came, the card was gone, leaving a person in its place.
Maybe he should've been scared. Or freaked out. After all, the guy staring at him had really freaky features and was taller than Julian by a couple of inches. The latter was enough to be a little worried about, actually. But all Julian could do was look up and meet the figure's gaze, smiling slightly at his words. "No problem."
Was he supposed to feel...drained? As the lights and everything else disappeared, Julian bent over, resting his hands on his knees and trying to stay still so the sudden light-headedness would go away. ...Weird. What happened? What was all of that? Magic? Theough his disheveled thoughts, he could hear Emilline talking about...devils? "I'm just full of surprises." He raised his head so he could look up at the girl, grinning slightly. "So...what now?" The light show and voodoo were over. Was this the part where they initiate him into their organization (or cult, whichever worked...they served Gods or whatever anyways, right?), or was there still something else to do? He hoped not; he might pass out or something otherwise.

| Emmilene would smile to him and rest a hand on his shoulder. “Well, I have one more surprise from you,” she said. A warmth could be felt coming from Emmilene’s hand, and filling Julian with the same feeling. He had now received the Mark of Hope, which could take the form of a mark on his body, a change in his appearance, or an item. It was his sign that he held this new power. “This will keep you alive a bit longer should you have to fight. Forgive me, but it was a way to, make the ceremony official. I had glasses that produced a similar effect, but for someone like you, I felt you deserved a bigger honor. It is just for you to show you that you are always welcome in this world to us, no matter what.” She then let her hand slide off. “Those of Nyarlathotep, and whatever is going on in your world are not your only potential threats. There are creatures out there known as Shadows. They are the parts of your Ego that are not controlled, that run loose. They will not let you go easily, and will try as much as they can to consume your psyche. You will recognize them the moment you see them, so do not worry. I have faith in you,” she said.
The next second, quick footsteps could be heard as Alex ran up to Emmilene looking worried, like the world was going to end for a second time. “H-hey! Do you not see the portals?! They aren’t here!” he said looking around the room. Emmiline would scan the room, and grow a puzzled look. “But Alex, I can see one here right now. Are you well?” she would ask, pointing in a direction, her look turning to a bit of worry. But it was odd, cause even Julian could see one oval-like opening that glowed blue, and showed shimmering images of an island he knew very well: Penecia Island. He could also see a strange blue door near one wall of the floor actually. Alex didn’t relent, he insisted he could not see. “Hm…go on ahead and take a rest. I shall make an announcement to the others and tell them to remain calm about this and then find my way back to my room so I may get him home.” Alex nodded seemingly in some comfort, but reluctantly left the room, taking the elevator down. Emmilene quickly turned to Julian. “Do not worry. I promise I will return you home. There is one more thing I have to show you if you can spare just a little more of your time. But if I may, do you not see a portal showing your world in this room?” she asked, turning curious.
Regardless of his answer, Emmilene would nod and turn to the blue door near the wall and point to it. “That door you should be able to see. It takes you to a place called the Velvet Room. It is nothing fearful. In there are helpful Attendants who assist us in any way they can, and it allows other Persona-Users to meet and speak. It also does not act on the same principals of time as our world does, and most likely yours. So you can spare any amount of time to go into there if you need a place to think.” She would give any amount of time he needed to ask questions and take it all in. If he had nothing to say or was finished, Emmilene would again nod and give a pleasant smiling, turning to the elevator and beginning to walk to it, ready to take Julian out of this depressing scenery. She would wait at the open door for him to join.- Julian Recieves:

| Bracing himself for Emilline's "surprise", Julian sighed slightly and hung his head. Best to try and get rid of most of this dizziness before he did whatever- huh? The warmth was a little odd, but the feeling of something cold sliding over the edge of his right ear was more concerning. His hand flew to his ear, tugging at the object that suddenly appeared. It came off easily enough, thank God. He brought it close to his face so he could inspect it. ...An ear cuff? It wasn't that big, maybe half an inch or so, and molded so that whenever he wore it, it would look like a three-clawed hand gripping the edge of his ear. So this was supposed to keep him alive for a bit longer, huh? He wasn't sure how that worked, but it looked to be made out of pure silver. That could come in handy, he guessed. Julian put the ear cuff back on, smiling lightly at Emilline. "Thanks." How she could have faith in him, he had no clue; they'd just met, after all. But if she wanted to put her trust in him, that was her choice.
Just as Julian composed himself and straightened, that guy Alex burst back into the room. Whoa, what was his problem? Julian turned and pushed his hands into his pockets, just managing to catch some of what the other teen was saying. Portals? Raising an eyebrow curiously, Julian kept quiet and tuned into the conversation. So Alex couldn't see the portals? Strange. Apparently Emilline could. And when he glanced in the direction she pointed, Julian could see them too, clear as crystal. Weird. Maybe it had something to do with the thing that just happened. It didn't take Emilline too long to placate her friend, and soon Alex was gone, leaving Julian and the girl alone once more. Oh good, at least they planned to return him home after all of this. For a while he was afraid he'd be stuck here for who knows how long. Frowning lightly at her question, Julian nodded his head. "Yeah, I do. It's a little hard not to." Seriously, it was a big glowing oval hovering in the air. Maybe he should be worried about Alex missing that.
Heh. How ironic. Just a few minutes before he was worried because these people believed they could see portals. Things change quickly, apparently. Like the topic. Already the girl was talking about that blue door and where it led. Helpful people, huh? He'd keep that in mind. It couldn't hurt to take a peek in there later. That is, if it was still around when he got home.
"...Can I ask you something?" He kept his eyes on the portal, watching the Galaxy Park Ferris wheel slowly rotate. "Out of all the random people in Azores, what made you decide to pick me?" Was there a specific reason or did they do it on a whim? He didn't want to know so he could warn them or anything like that. They wouldn't believe him anyways. It was simply to sate his own curiosity.
"Oh, and this...'persona'. How am I supposed to use it, exactly?" If there were going to be monsters and Shadows and Gods coming after him, it might be nice to know how to protect himself.

| Emmilene gave a small smile. “You seem like the person who would want to do something, but at the moment, does not have the ability nor the resources. It is my personal belief that you will truly have the power and just as easily the drive to fix whatever is going on in your world, at your own pace or not. I am merely giving you the opportunity to do so. I truly thi-…I am positive you will find a way to resolve this,” she said. Whether at the last part of her sentence she was talking about his world, her own, or both was unknown. When the two reached the elevator, she would press the lower button and begin their descent. “As for your Persona. You will find that you can summon and use it with just a thought. You will either have an object close to you, an “evoker” in order to summon your Persona. If not, a tarot card of your own Arcana will appear. Simply break the card, and your Persona will come forth to fight with you. You’ll know what abilities you have, so you do not have to worry about having no strategy,” she explained.
At the end of their descent, they would return to the hallways of the underground bunkers. Julian could see more people talking in hushed tones, some panicked. Julian would also be able to see a portal or two around the areas leading to various parts of Penecia. “This way,” she said. She would lead him down a hallway, turning other directions away from the room he woke up in. The path would take him down several directions, though every so often he could see a map on the wall of the large place, so he at least knew where he was going. Something else that happened was that some people would come to Emmilene in worry about certain things; be it the portals apparently invisible to them, or other matters. And every time, she would nod politely and give a comforting smile. “Do not worry. I will be telling the rest about this. Do not panic. It won’t be bothering you,” she said. She would be repeating words along these, along with various other words to cheer up those who were losing hope. One young man, no older than twelve had been found on the walk crying and resting on the wall. Emmilene knelt down to the boy and took his hand gently. “Please don’t cry. What’s wrong?” “I miss them…” the boy responded. Emmilene gave a frown, knowing what he meant. “I will talk to you again and again if it makes sure you stop crying. Now don’t be scared. I will protect you. Your friends and allies will protect you. You’re strong. I know it,” she said. She must have spoken with him before. The boy would give her a tight hug, which she would return before standing up and nodding with a smile, holding back more tears before leaving, waving to Julian. Emmilene gave a soft smile, like a light weight had been taken off of the massive weight she must hold.
The walk would continue on for what was almost twenty minutes before finally reaching a set of double doors, opening to a modest room that looked a lot like the one Julian woke up, save for that it had an extra door that lead to a bathroom, a desk that had some small equipment, including a microphone in the middle, and another portal to Penecia with a blue glow. On the bottom of the bunk bed, a blonde patch of hair shuffled around next to a blanket. A small boy would sit up and rub his eyes and turn to the two. “Emmy? I heard a bunch of talking. You’re okay right?” he asked. She smiled. “I’m fine. I have to go talk to everyone.” “I wanna hear!” he said, fumbling out of the covers so he could leave the bed to follow Emmilene as she sat down in the chair and pressed a couple buttons on the machine, then began to speak, sounding throughout all the areas outside this room. Even Julian could tell, it was an intercom. “Everyone. Do not worry about the portals. They are gone, but someone very special has joined us. Julian. He is our new hope, to join all of your hopes,” she said. After a little bit, some outside were clapping and the commotion had settled a little. “If you have matters to attend to, please do. If not, take it easy. Keep going. You are all going to be alright. Goodnight.” “Goodnight” would be heard from outside from a few voices. The boy would smile brightly and turn to Julian. “Hey there! You’re him? I hope we can be friends!” he said. “Mason, what did I say about bed time?” The boy named Mason frowned, but nodded and walked to the bed and went back in it, bidding the two goodnight. Emmilene stood up to give Mason a small kiss on the cheek before he finally went to sleep. “Forgive me for the time it took. You may return now. You may use the portal to my room or the ones that lead inside the bunker. The others will recognize you so do not worry. If I am not here, feel free to wait or look out in the area. This is a home should you need it.” She said. “One more thing. I have learned on your island Penecia, the only portals that seem to open are the ones that lead here. I do not know, but the possibility of others leading to the side of Nyarlathotep or other places exist. I imagine you only have access to the portals that lead here. Just a reminder. Do you have any questions?” If not, then Emmilene would smile and tip on her toes to light place a kiss on Julian’s forehead as a sort of blessing. “Take care, and good luck at your home.”

| So he was picked up because Emilline thought he had potential. How she determined that, he had no clue; so it looked like his well-intended abduction really was nothing more than a whim. With maybe some hope sprinkled in there that he'd be able to "resolve" everything. Resolve what, though? This world? Corruption in Penecia? A conspiracy in San Malarus? The possibilities were endless. ...Sigh. Looks like there were lots of things he'd have to look up on his own. At least he had some idea now of how to summon that persona she'd given him. Thinking about his power didn't produce any more tarot cards, so it looked like that "evoker" method was the way he'd have to go. Now the only thing he had to do was figure out what that object... Besides trying to memorize what led where, Julian hadn't paid much attention to the tunnels he'd walked through. Now since he was relatively sure his life wasn't in danger, he took a little time to glance around. This place was seriously huge. Well, he guessed it would have to be to hold the dozens of people they passed on their way to wherever. Were they all refugees or something? And Emilline their leader? She was pretty young to be heading something like this, in his opinion. Not to mention she was practically like a mother to every single person here, be they younger or older. That was kind of a lot to shove on her shoulders. Was there really no one else here to care for kids or provide morale and comfort? Sure, by the looks of the city, they'd been through something pretty bad, but Emilline was doing her best, and she was from the same place they were, right? Maybe that was part of why she was looking for someone from the other world. Someone who was actually motivated to help and do something productive. ...Wow, that was actually kind of a depressing thought. And kind of scary. What exactly happened to turn the city into this, to make these people hide underground? After a while of walking then pausing to let Emilline comfort someone, they finally made it to a room that looked vaguely familiar. It was sorta like the place he'd had his rude awakening, but just a little bit more...jazzed up. Not by much though, since it was hard to be luxurious underground and all, but it had a few things that other room didn't. ...Yeeeah, he was starting to feel a little out of place. Was it just him, or did this new kid and Emilline have sort of a brother/sister vibe going on? That right there was enough to make him want to back out of the room and give them some privacy. But then it sounded like Emilline was going to deal with some business stuff now. Should he really be listening to it? Yeah, she was broadcasting the thing throughout the entire compound or whatever, but it was still for this group. Even if he walked through the halls and met a couple of people here, he still felt like an outsider. Wait wait wait, what was that about his name? The teen couldn't help but stare at the girl with wide eyes, worried about what exactly she meant. "New hope"? Like a savior? Whoa, wasn't she getting a little ahead of herself here? ...Damn, not even a few hours and suddenly his life was turned upside down. One second, he's an ordinary senior, now he's...whatever it was being a "new hope" in an alternate reality/dimension meant. Which wasn't exactly normal. As far as he knew. Even the blond boy was getting all excited. Julian smiled softly at the kid, hiding the shock and concern Emilline's little announcement stirred up. "I hope so too." Thankfully the girl who kind of started all of this ushered the boy off to bed, saving him from answering any other questions. Julian shook his head lightly at her apology, offering her a tired smile. It was kinda freaky near the beginning and long at the end, but it was, as far as he knew, over. For now he was mainly focused on trying to use that portal (however that was supposed to work) and get home to his bed (where he hopefully wouldn't get snatched again). The hint about where these things led was nice, though. Information was always nice. It just would be better appreciated after he'd had about 24 hours of sleep. "Nah, I think you've covered everything I need to know for now. Thanks." ....An interesting parting gift. She really was like a mother, wasn't she? It was kind of cute and sad at the same time. With that thought he waved and walked to the portal, reaching for it with a hand. If he dived in head-first, would he come out the same...? ...Ah, screw it, he wouldn't know unless he tried. Before his fingers came into contact with the moving picture of Penecia, he turned and smiled one last time at Emilline. "You take care too." Without much more than a deep breath, Julian pushed his way through the portal and left Alternate Penecia. -Exit- | |
