PostSubject: Free Time [Open]   Free Time [Open] EmptyWed Apr 23, 2014 10:19 pm

"Think you can hold out on your own for a while?"

"I think I'll be fine." Julian couldn't help the wry tone laced throughout his words, or the crooked grin that spread across his face.

His dad let out a chuckle of his own as he laid one hand on his son's shoulder. "I think so too. Meet me at the front gates at seven, alright?" The teen gave him a nod.

"Seven. Got it." Taking only a second to give him one last smile, the man walked deeper into the park, finally disappearing in the crowd of people. Julian himself stood there for a while longer, sticking his hands into his back pockets and leaning back so as to gaze up at the towering rides. // Damn, this place is huge... //  His dad hadn't been kidding when he said this place was much different than any normal park. Heck, he hadn't even seen some of these rides before. It really made him wonder why he hadn't heard of this place until his dad had gotten that job offer. Was it because Galaxy Park was in such an obscure place? ...Huh. Maybe he'd ask his dad about it later.

Done with his cursory glance of the park, Julian started weaving his way through the crowds, making sure to grab a park map from a kiosk he passed. Making his way to a less crowded rest area, he took a second to unfold the pamplet, widening his eyes at the layout. Holy crap...was the park really this big? It was going to take some time to see everything this place had. // Well, 'least I've got today. // Biting the inside of his cheek, he scanned the vast list of rides, games and restaurants, rather indecisive as to where to begin. He could always go to the back and work his way forward. But maybe it would be more efficient to ride everything he passed? Or maybe he should just focus on the games for today...?

    ...

    ...

// Gahhh-! // Clamping a hand on his head, the dark-haired teen pursed his lips and stared at the map. There was so much he could do! ...Oh well. There was always a sure-fire way to start. Finally he closed his eyes and, holding the map with one hand, randomly pointed somewhere. Julian tentatively cracked an eye open, only to blink, then grin widely. A roller coaster? Not a bad way to start. And it was pretty close by, too. He folded the map and stuck it in his back pocket before diving back into the crowd, his silver eyes lighting up the moment he saw the metal monstrosity. Wow, it really was close by. And...was that the line? Really? // I love you,  Lady Luck~. // Pleased with the recent development, Julian hopped into the line, his smile only widening. Today was going to be fantastic if things kept going on like this.[/color]

''This is how people spend time these days, hm?''

Sharaku wondered briefly, as he stood at the entrance to the Galaxy Theme Park. The only reason he was currently there was because he lived nearby and had nothing better to do with his time. And they say having fun is important, right? While he wasn't sure this kind of 'fun' would be the one for him, it wasn't going to hurt to try. Kids love this stuff, so why not? Sure, he wasn't a child anymore, unless being 22 counted as that, but yeah. He did feel a bit silly even considering that, but who gives. ''Well, let's go.'', he would say, beginning a long walk through the big park. Sweeping his golden eyes over the various attractions, he would keep on killing time, while not really doing anything particular. Nevertheless, he wasn't bored yet, so it was just about fine.

'It is a bit noisy here though...'
He wasn't really put off by that, but he had a feeling it could get irritating over time. 'Better find something to engage in' That might just be the way to take his mind off random distractions. With that in mind, he'd begin to pay more attention to whatever he was looking out, although he had no idea about most of these things. Meanwhile, he would fish out a cigarette from one of the pockets on his suit, litting it up with a lighter he had with himself at the moment, not forgetting to take it with him this time. The fact that it might not be such a bright idea to go try something out while smoking did not cross his mind yet, and probably even wouldn't.

Eventually, after an uneccessarily long and technically hopeless looking around, he ended up making a random pick, which was actually the thing he was currently the closest to. How smart, right? Either way, it did not matter much, he just needed something to do. ''Shall do...'', Sharaku would mutter lightly, standing in the line behind some dark haired teen. He wasn't paying much attention to that so far though.

Yuuto stood at the gates of the park, blinking away his bored expression. At his mother's insistence, his father took him to this... hell. But, that's life, doing things you don't like at a place full of people. He had also been forced to give up all his games for the day, giving him no choice but to actually do things. Mustering his courage, he stepped inside. Feeling a slight headache from all the loud noises and yelling. Yuuto's depression didn't last long, however, his eyes lit up when he saw a sign with the word 'Arcade' above a smallish round building. He practically ran to it, a huge grin on his face. As soon as he got inside, the evening became bearable. All sorts of Arcade Machines against almost every inch of the wall, and it somehow seemed quieter than outside. He walked up to a fighting game and inserted his coins. Within about Twenty minutes he had completed the Arcade Mode, making him sigh. He checked his watch, and scowled, it would be another hour and thirty minutes before he could leave.

"I curse the person who made this park." Yuuto muttered before leaving the arcade, no other game really jumping out at him. He shoved his hands in his pockets and looked around, before seeing a large roller coaster, with what appeared to be a small line. Seeing nothing better to do, Yuuto joined the line, behind someone who didn't seem to be paying much attention, and a dark haired teen who looked way too happy. Yuuto was bored again, and was fighting the urge to yawn. He crossed his arms and rocked back and forth on his heels. He yawned without realizing, glad that it was drowned out by near-by sounds. The line was short, so it wouldn't be too much longer.

Akira strolled through the gates of the theme park with a grin on his face. He had just arrived in the Azores Region a day ago and was currently exploring Penecia Island since he had nothing better to do. Cranking the volume of his headphones to high, Akira strolled around wondering what rides he should go on and what games he should play. He stopped at the nearest game and started to play. After playing for half an hour, Akira decided to go on a ride with the least people. "Crap, there's to many people here..." Akira thought to himself as he made his way through the huge vibrant crowds of people enjoying themselves. He has been searching for a ride while stopping once in a while to buy food and drinks and to play some mini games. Half an hour passed and Akira had no luck of finding a ride with few people lining up at. Akira found an empty seat and sat down for a break and to search the map for any rides he had missed. While sitting down for a break, Akira noticed a large roller coaster with only a few people lining up as he was drinking a large cup of soda.

"Finally, a ride that I don't need to wait long for." Akira started to grin as he finished his drink. He stood up threw the empty cup into the trash and started walking towards the small line of people before stopping behind the bored looking boy at the end of the line.

PostSubject: Re: Free Time [Open]   Free Time [Open] EmptyThu Apr 24, 2014 7:43 pm

It was  good thing he hopped in line when he did. If he'd taken more than a second to make the decision, he would have most likely been behind the people who just showed up. Not that it would have mattered much since this line was so short, but still.

Peering past the small bunch of people in front of him, the boy watched as the coaster car came to a stop at the front of the line. He counted the seats quietly before doing a quick head-count. If what he was seeing was right, there were two people to a row and six people total in a car. Combine that with the twenty-three--ah, twenty-four--people ahead of him, and it would make for a grand total of four full cars before it was his turn. // Not too bad... // All there was now was to wait.

On ether side of the line was a metal railing, most likely meant to keep the queue organized on busy days. Julian leaned against it as he pulled out his iPod, intent on checking the time. It couldn't hurt to see just how much time he had left. After all, working through the crowd might've taken longer than he thought it did. If he didn't gauge his time wisely now, more likely than not he'd end up sprinting to meet his dad at the gates later. And running through these crowded streets definitely didn't seem like fun.

// ...?// Huh...his iPod wasn't responding. Just to be sure, he pressed the MENU button once more. Still nothing. Had he turned it off earlier and forgotten? In that case, pressing POWER should do the trick. Beep Beep. ...Unless the battery was dead. Julian couldn't help but sigh at the flashing picture on the screen, which disappeared after a few seconds. He should've checked and made sure he charged this thing. A quick glance around didn't help the situation either; as far as he could see, there wasn't a clock nearby. He considered tapping on the shoulder of the person in front of him and seeing if they had a watch, but the moment he saw her face, he figured that wouldn't be the best move. That scowl was pretty intense. And...wow, he'd thought only his little cousin could turn such an impressive shade of red...yeah, he was going to take his chances with whoever was behind him.

Standing upright oncemore and tucking the electronic back into his pocket, Julian turned, glad that he'd gone through with this choice. True, this guy didn't seem very happy either, but at least he wasn't scowling. And he was a snappy dresser, too. Smiling brightly, albeit apologetically, Julian questioned, "Sorry, but do you have the time?"

After a while of standing in the line, Sharaku had decided that this just take more time than he originally expected. There were enough people to make it a few turn wait. Nevertheless, that was fine with him. He had the whole day to do whatever. It wasn't like he was busy, and in any case, at least he could finish his cigarette in peace before indulging in this insanity of a supposed entertainment. 'That is actually a good way to call it....' Being amused by his own thought would probably fit into that category too. Either way, he would lazily puff out some smoke, thinking about this and that, as the time passed. And he would probably have kept at it until it was his turn, if the teen that stood in front of him didn't suddenly turn around after fiddling with his phone for a while. 'Hmm?' He would snap his attention towards the boy in question, his golden eyes looking him over a bit.

''Ah, sure, sir. Is there anything you need?'', he would respond offering a polite expression towards the teen's smile. Afterall, Sharaku had nothing better to do than smoking his cigarette anyway, so he might as well see what this was about. Wouldn't hurt...hopefully. He was doubtful that he would be requested to do something ridiculous anyway. Sure, life can have its moments when it screws you over, that he knew, but it would be lame to take offense at everything. And it was a nice gesture to be helpful, even if it tended to not work out for him most of the time. Sometimes it just doesn't go the way you want it, no matter the amount of effort. Still, he was prepared to calmly take anything the teen would throw at him...hopefully it wouldn't be his phone...'That was too lame for a joke....' Mental debates aside, he would pay attention to the one in front of him for the time being.

Yuuto was vaguely aware of someone entering the line behind him. He had a slight urge to fall asleep, but decided to keep he attention on the line. The dark haired teen in front pulled out his iPhone, played around with it for a second, and shoved it back into his pocket. Yuuto smiled slightly. Knowing all too well to always charge your electronics. The teen turned to the person behind him and began talking, Yuuto heard some sort of conversation, but Yuuto was still absorbed with the charging mistake.

"Rookie mistake..." Yuuto muttered to himself, a little louder than he had anticipated. Yuuto face suddenly went red, and he became very interested in his shoes. Don't notice...Don't notice...Don't notice' The boy kept thinking to himself, his face turning redder by the second. Yuuto began considering leaving the line and going back to the arcade. However he decided to take a few deep breaths and look up, ready to face whatever came. Cursing his lack of social skills, or any sort of screen to hide behind. He didn't know exactly how he looked right now, he found himself not really caring. The arcade still sounded like a good option but, he needed to fill his daily social quota.

While waiting in line, Akira counted the number of people to see how long it would take till he could go on. "1, 2, 3..." Even though the line was shorter than the other rides, it still take quite a while before it would be his turn. After finishing the head count, Akira began watching the roller coaster. He could feel his excitement rising as the roller coaster went up to the highest point before dropping down. His big smile widening every time the roller coaster went through a loop. He took out his phone once in a while to change the song he was currently listening to and to check the time.

As he was looking at his phone, Akira heard the boy in front of him say something. However, Akira couldn't hear exactly what the boy was saying since his headphones were drowning out most of the noise around him. Looking away from his phone, Akira saw the boy quickly looked down. Upon a closer look, Akira noticed the boy's face slowly turning red.

Holding in his laughter, Akira decided to ask if anything was wrong. He took off his black headphones and put it around his neck. "Are you feeling al right?" Asked Akira with a big smile on his face.

...That must've come out wrong. He thought he'd come straight out and asked for the time. Maybe this man took it in a different way. ...Well, then again, Julian was in a different part of the world now. Maybe they didn't have that phrase here. Good to know. Without missing a beat, Julian nodded appreciatively before continuing. "I was just hoping you could tell me what time it is?" Reaching a hand up, he scratched lightly at his cheek, his smile becoming a little crooked in embarrassment. "It seems my clock died on me."

Hm? Julian's silver eyes flicked past the gentleman and to the boy behind him. What had he said? "Rookie mister"? ...No, that couldn't have been it. He was pretty sure about the "rookie" part...the second word had been mumbled a little and was a bit hard to decipher. The surrouding crowds and screams from the coaster just complicated things further. But, judging by the look on the other guy's face, he either must not have meant it, or thought and said it out loud by mistake. Either way, Julian couldn't blame him.

"You may be right about that." The dark haired teen let out a light laugh and grinned at the boy. The other teen looked pretty miserable now. No sense in getting angry over it and just making him feel worse. Besides, the guy was just telling the truth; it had been a dumb move to leave the house without making sure his beloved iPod had been charged. Nothing he could do about it now, though. He'd just have to make due with searchign for clocks in this place and checking the time as often as he could. Of course, even if there weren't any posted clocks, it couldn't be too hard to sneak a peek at a watch or just outright ask someone for the time. Preferably someone nice like the gentleman right in front of him, of course, but he'd take what he could get.

The time? Right, that should be easy enough. ''Of course, no problem.'', Sharaku would say, nodding at the teen's request, along with his explanation. At least now he knew why the boy had fiddled with his phone back then, not that it was any of his business. Hm, devices that required charging could be so unreliable. He would take a short moment to search through his pockets for his own phone, hearing the person behind him mutter something meanwhile. Being closer than the boy asking for time, he did recognize what was being said. He chose not to say anything on that yet, although it struck him as a little rude to comment like that. Everyone made mistakes sometimes, and he doubted whoever said it was some sort of superhero that always did stuff right. At the moment he was too busy fishing his phone out to bother turning around to take a look at the person behind him, and figured he'd only interfere if it was worth it later.

Finally finding what he was looking for, Sharaku would flash the teen the screen to read the time for himself, rather than saying it. ''Here you go.'', he'd say, taking on a friendly tone. This at least gave him something to pass the time, even if for a short moment. Besides, he was rarely the one to refuse to help, if it was possible for him to do whatever was needed. He did not forget the one behind him, and his words, and it seemed the teen it refered to had heard as well, as he was actually giving a response to that. He didn't seem to be bothered by it, and that was good, despite it not being a pleasant commentary. Because it would have been even more unpleasant if an argument turned out of this, and Sharaku wasn't sure he would have enjoyed getting stuck in the middle of a crossfire, whether verbal or physical. At this moment, he would actually turn his head to look at the other teen behind him, who was currently red in the face and staring at his feet. So, he did not intend to say that in the first place? Looking between the two back and forth a few times, he would say, ''Isso é muito divertido.'', with a slight smile on his face. True, there was a low chance either would recognize the language he spoke in, and subsequently what he said, but that didn't matter much. He said that mostly for his own entertainment, not planning to butt in directly, though he would not have a problem with explaining if either of them wanted to know.

| "Sorry sir, that job offering was actually taken a few weeks ago. We've just never taken the time to just take it down." | Akashida was replaying that moment in his head. | Damn. I need a part-time job. I don't wanna sit around doing nothing. | Akashida sighed. He recently moved in this region and needs a job to live in various Hotels and Motels and it's already a hard week. | No. I need to stop thinking about this for now. I'm here in this HUGE amusement park. I might as well go around and have some sort of fun. | Akashida finally stopped thinking and just went to a less crowded area to have some fun in.

He looked at a roller coaster and decided to go there. The line wasn't that bad compared to the other rides and games around it. | Hello. Finally, a ride that isn't crowded. | As soon as I entered the line, a Hispanic-looking man had said ''Isso é muito divertido.'' | Oh? Portuguese? | Akashida had to comment. "This is very fun, right? Portugal is a beautiful country. I also love the architecture. Very fancy and beautiful."

Akashida then looked at the ground. "Sorry I just had to comment. Portugal is one of the only places I'll visit that isn't in Asia or the Pacific Islands." He then blushed | Oh god. I sound like a idiot right now.| He quickly thought of a question to keep it going. Akashida then looked at the said Hispanic-man and asked him "Did you grow up in Portugual?"

Yuuto sighed. Of course he had to say something. Now the people around him were looking, and suddenly he seemed to lose his voice. After taking a few deep breaths, his face returned to a normal color. "Sorrysorrysorry, I didn't mean to say anything, it just sorta slipped out, it wasn't supposed to, but still it happened because I am such an idiot, whocantfigureouthowtoshutupbecauseit'sreallyannoyingbuti'mdoingit-" Yuuto stopped for a breath, calming himself again. Blinking twice, as if trying to even remember what was going on. He let out a small squeak. Yet another embarrassment. He needed to something about his Social Skills. The sooner, the better. At least the dark haired teen got the time. He suddenly remembered the question of the headphoned teen behind him.

"I-I'm fine." Yuuto said, with a sigh. He figured the day couldn't get any worse from here. He had embarrassed himself, through a remark and through rambling. While other days had been worse, today had been definitely up there. Although, he smiled slightly, it was good preparation for the upcoming school semester, where he no doubt would have to speak publicly. And his mom always was getting on him to talk to other people, he would introduce himself if they did.

While waiting for a response from the nervous boy, Akira looked at his phone again. Akira blinked several times and then burst into laughter after the boy finished talking. The way the boy spoke was too much for Akira. He couldn't stop laughing. Wiping the tears in his eyes, Akira apologized to the nervous boy. "Sorry, sorry. I didn't mean to laugh, the way you just spoke was just too funny." Akira took several deep breaths to calm down a little and returned to his usual grin. "Seriously that was actually pretty funny I couldn't help myself. Sorry about that."

"This is going to be interesting." Akira thought to himself while grinning at the nervous boy. Akira looked up at the roller coaster, took another deep breath to make sure he won't laugh, then looked back at the boy. Akira's day was getting better and better. He couldn't help but smile at the nervous boy in front of him. "Are you sure you're al right? You seem quite nervous right now."

Turning back to the gentleman as he held his phone up, Julian peered at the screen for a moment. Oh, great! He had actually spent a little less time getting here than he thought! "Thanks!" He flashed a broad smile towards him. // Glad I asked this guy... // At the sudden jumbled sentence, the teen turned back to the boy, blinking slowly.

Whoa...this poor guy. He seemed really upset about whatever he said earlier. Julian grinned, holding a hand up in a "stop" gesture. "Hey...Hey! It's okay. Don't worry about it." Laughing lightly, he offered a small shrug. "Can't help it if you're right, y'know?" Oh, good. That other kid behind this boy was distracting him. Maybe he'd forget all about this and enjoy the rest of his day. Now, back to this guy, he should probably thank him again-

..."Mucho dividio?" "Issy met Ichigo?" No, no..."Is es Mexico?" ...Alright, that last one was a bit off. What in the world did he say? Julian's grin stayed bright and his features relaxed, buthis head was whirling a million miles a minute trying to figure out what language that was supposed to be. Just as he came this close to breaking down and asking for a translation, another person walked up and saved him the trouble. Ohhhhh, he was speaking Portugese? That made a lot more sense. Facing the gentleman as the boy asked his questions, Julian curiously aaited the response. What an interesting way to pass the time in line. Lady Luck was certainly going the extra mile today; if this kept up, he most likely wouldn't be bored for even a moment today.

((OoC: Oh my god lol. I don't know why, but you had me laughing so hard at the ''Issy met Ichigo'' part. You just made my day with that.....Just something random I had to say, nevermind me. ~))

''You're welcome. Glad to be of help.'', Sharaku would nod at the enthusiastic thanks from the dark haired teen, as he put his phone back into his pocket. This went fairly well. Or more like the request was easy enough to do. Either way, maybe this day wasn't going to be as bad as he originally expected from an amusement park. The other boy suddenly started apologizing after being spoken to, and it was actually fun to listen to. The way he jumbled the words together. The teen was embarassed alright, but maybe he should take it easy. No one seemed to be insulted that badly. Sharaku considered saying something more on the subject, but another person joined in on the parade, and he was forced to divert his attention.

'Oh?' This guy knew Portuguese? Now that was a surprise. He would have never expected that. It wasn't exactly a common language...outside of Portugal and Brazil at least. 'Maybe I should be more careful with that...' He did not think he would meet someone who'd understand. What a coincidence. ''Ah, yes, something along those lines, Mister.'', he would say, not sure whether he should be amused about this or not. ''It's nice to hear some people like travelling. Do you go there often?'' Sharaku would smile lightly, deciding to play it cool. Sure this surprised him, but to be honest it wasn't that much of a bad thing. 'It might actually be fun...'

....'Why is he blushing though...? Did I miss something?' He was considering asking what was wrong, but the teen beat him to it, asking a question. ''Yes, you guessed right. I did indeed grow up in Portugal. Looks like I'm pretty obvious, eh?'', he would say with a slight chuckle, definitely amused now. 'Scratch the previous thoughts..this actually is fun...' This was a strange turnabout of events, but he might as well have a good time with it. It didn't seem harmful so far. Maybe he could actually get in the spirit of park this way.
