April 5th, 2015. Two days before The Incident.
Aurelia stepped off the bus, stretching her arms and back out just a smidge. All those hours spent in either a classroom or Eloy's office made her feel a bit stiff and restless. Normally, she'd take the time to run through Emerald Park on the weekends to help stave off the "Classroom fatigue" she suffered, but after having to do extra paperwork after school to help Captain Eloy out while he was on vacation, she didn't have it in her to jog every day. So, every sunday these past three weeks, Aurelia had taken the time to pay her family in Pratanica a visit. Opportunities to do so didn't come as often as one would think, but between school, MMA Practice and the all the work she had with the Vanguard, she was too busy to make trips to the neighboring town more than once in a while. So she purposefully made time to do so these past three weeks, which definitely helped her escape the feeling of being trapped indoors.
Mr and Mrs Lamendola were both out on errands at this early hour, and the dinner she had been invited to was not due for another 4 hours. This gave Aurelia ample time to go catch up with old friends from middle school who now studied elsewhere, most likely in Benela, a city further north. But first, the blondine needed something to drink. It was a particularly warm summer day, with not a single cloud blemished the deep blue sky as far as the eye could see.
She stopped by a local juice stand, and helped herself to a serving of freshly pressed Orange Juice. A triplet of ice cubes danced in the bright beverage whenever Aurelia raised the plastic cup, and took a sip from it, as she casually walked down these all too familiar streets. Pratanica hadn't really changed all that much over the years, and, Marble Chapel notwithstanding, had the oldest buildings in the entire country. It was picturesque and cute. She really liked it here.
