| Amelia There is absolution at the end of my path. I... I have to believe that.
Birth Name: Amelia Aliases: - Gender: Female Age: 17 (in human years) Birth Day: 13th of the Dragonfly Moon Arcana: Faith Place of Residence: Mantis Village (on Planet Greenleaf) Evoker: Persona Module
Occupation: (We'll fill this out later.)
Appearance: Amelia looks somewhat like a humanoid bug, with green chitinous skin, a sizable natural hood (that she often pulls over her face), and two large antennae extending from beneath said hood. Her lower body doesn't end at the legs and instead continues down, nearly touching the ground when she stands upright. She also posesses wing-like appendages, but they are incapable of flight, instead merely forming something of a cloak around her form. Compared to an average human, Amelia is a bit on the shorter side, not helped by her slightly hunched posture. She rarely looks at those she interacts with directly, preferring to keep her eyes on the floor. Her movements are almost always slow and careful, as if already anticipating something going wrong.
Personality: Amelia is a quiet yet driven bug, with much of her personality shaped by the events that led to her ending up on S.S. Philemon. Due to what happened, she is subconsciously afraid of bringing bringing disaster to those around her, shutting herself in her cabin as a result, and feels guilty for the harm she already wrought. To escape that guilt, she has adopted a rather fatalistic worldview, based on the teachings of the Divine Light - a religion practiced by bugkind. To Amelia, her destiny has been determinded by the Light, and only by accepting it without question (and following through) she can find atonement. She has not yet determinded what that destiny is, but is certain it has something to do with S.S. Philemon. Before the disaster, she was kind, curious, and eager to help. She still partly retains those qualities, though there is much less enthusiasm in her actions now.

The Potential
|
Racial Bonus: Alien Strength
—Alien Strength Name: Anchored Potential —Description: Ameila's species have always exceeded at controlling and directing their Potential, but, in Amelia's case, this ability has manifested in a rather peculiar way. Amelia is able to summon a ghostly projection of herself, allowing her to interact with the world at large while staying in the safety of her cabin. The projection is able to utilize the full capabilities of her Persona Module (including the Soulbound weapon) and can be used for communication, but lacks physical substance and thus cannot affect the world directly. However, it still can take Soul Damage, sharing HP with Amelia herself. Summoning the projection takes five minutes, and it has to be focused on a specific anchor. Said anchor must possess Potential, be willing, and be someone Amelia has interacted with before. The projection cannot move further than 5 meters away from the anchor - otherwise, the connection is lost and the summoning must be conducted again.
Strengths:
—Strength Name: Blessing of the Light —Description: Amelia's faith is strong enough to subtly affect those she helps, briefly strenghtening their attacks. Whenever she uses a Recovery skill, she may choose to bless one of its targets. The blessed target's next attack deals bonus Light damage, equal to 10% of said attack's original damage. The bonus damage is dealt separately, and thus can be affected by elemental strengths or weaknesses, but does not affect clashing. The blessing wears off after one turn even if unused, and multiple blessings do not stack.
—Strength Name: Fortitude —Description: Whether Amelia's beliefs are justified or not, they still grant her the strength to go through hardships and stressful situations and still remain whole. Without them, she'd have fallen to pieces on the day of her arrival. -15% chance of being afflicted by a Mental Aliment.
—Strength Name: Fortitude, cont. —Description: +10% success chance to instant kill skills.
—Strength Name: Selflessness —Description: Back when she was a temple assistant, Amelia always wanted to help others, and that desire still remains, if a little marred by doubt. Buffs applied by Amelia are 15% stronger.
—Strength Name: Hunter Instinct —Description: Despite the fact that Amelia doesn't fit any stereotypes of her people in the slightest, she still comes from a village of hunters, and no amount of sitting in her cabin will erase that. On her turn, Ameila can attack with her soulbound twice.
----- ((A floating Strength is a strength you've gained inRP. For example, if you were on a Kendo team for some time, you'd naturally know Kendo which is where this strength would come in. However, be aware, it will not be as strong as any of your actual strengths and is a small plus.)
—Floating Strength Name: —Description:
Weaknesses:
—Weakness Name: Born Unlucky —Description: Bad luck really does seem to follow Amelia around. Her Lk is reduced by 15%.
—Weakness Name: Repressed Doubt —Description: Ameila's doubt never truly went away, even after her commitment to her destiny. It still plagues all of Amelia's actions like a dangerous undercurrent, often resurfacing at the worst time possible. Mental Aliments that Ameila is affected by last 1 turn longer than normal.
—Weakness Name: Solitude —Description: Amelia never leaves her cabin, refusing to face the world directly. This is reflected in her Personas, which are often hesitant to take direct action, preferring to stay in the back. -15% Ppstr.
—Weakness Name: Solitude, cont. —Description: -10% strength to any Physical skills.
—Weakness Name: ..Not even a beemerang? —Description: Amelia's village has always relied on their Potential for ranged attacks - that's actually the reason she even has a Persona Module. But as a result, usage of ranged weaponry is only practiced by a select few, and Amelia was obviously not among them. Amelia doesn't have a sidearm, and wouldn't be able to use it even if she had one.
----- ((A floating weakness is one gained in RP. It could be a fear you inherited during RP, or an injury that hinders your character. Some can be temporary while others can be permanent. Do not: if you do something stupid that would sensibly get your character screwed, you WILL earn yourself one of these bad boys!)
—Floating Weakness Name: —Description:
Soul Bound Weapon:
Weapon Name: Bug-Naginata Weapon Description: A ko-naginata (essentially, a blade on a long stick designed for female warriors), the blade of which was crafted from a monstrous spider's mandible. It looks just like the one Amelia's mother used when she went hunting. Its shaft is 180 cm long, with the blade adding 40 cm more. Weapon Image: - Weapon Attack Type: Slash Weapon Element: -

The Background
|
History: Amelia comes from a relatively small village of mantises, located among the brances of a giant tree. Most of the village's inhabitants were hunters by trade, including Amelia's parents. Amelia herself, however, wasn't all too interested in all of that. She preferred sitting by the village temple and listening to the moth priestess who worked there. From her, she learned about the Divine Light and its doctrines, and was inspired enough that, by the age of 16 (in human years), she was volunteering at that temple as an assistant. Amelia was always quite unlucky, often finding herself in trouble or getting injured through no fault of her own (though, at the time, it didn't deter her from trying her best). The same could be said about her last birthday, when her wing was injured by a stray falling branch. Her family was planning a trip to the Golden City - to celebrate, and to get out of the way of a forecasted storm. But, with Amelia's injury, they wouldn't have made it there in time. So she asked them to stay behind, so that she wouldn't have to celebrate it on the road. But that small request soon turned to disaster. The storm came on her birthday, its power magnitudes beyond the predictions. It rampaged through the village, ripping houses apart and killing the inhabitants, leaving devastation behind. Amelia's house was torn in two. Her own room got stuck on a branch, but the rest of the house crashed into the tree trunk, killing everyone inside. Ameila herself was bound to suffer the same fate soon - the wind wasn't letting up, and her room was already slipping from the branch. Devastated, Amelia knelt in prayer. She begged the Divine Light to do something, to save if not her, then at least the other villagers, she begged for a way out. The last things she remebers before losing herself are the room finally slipping, and her Persona Module going haywire. Then, there was only darkness. When she came to her senses, she was in a place she didn't recognise - aboard the S.S. Philemon.
