Strange happenings? nothing new (Isabelle and Cherry summer event)

"Wha- Huh? You don't know what a vault is? Then what is Endymion?" To her knowledge you either lived on the surface or underground inside the safety of a vault. But it seems this Endymion broke those rules, but maybe there was another way to explain all of this? Maybe the people in Endymion never told it's people there was anything outside of the vault? Then again that doesn't add up with how she knew about demons. "But anyways, yeah I am not sure how they do it in the united states, but in france we have vaults that most people live in to stay away from demons. They are pretty good at it, normally. But these days more and more of them seems to be failing........" It was a serious problem, and pretty worrying. If it was only one that woukd be one thing, but twl breaking two in such a short amount of time seemed rather strange. However just as a theory was starting to form in the teen's head, she heard Iseabelle suddenly burst out into a fit of laughter. Causing the bonded young woman to glare at her with a stuck out lower lip. "What's so funny?"

Cherry was left dumbfounded with what she had said. "What does that mean? I guess it could be a friend in like, it helps you grab things and other useful stuff. But like you can't talk to it." She shrugged her shoulders, dismissing the woman's strange comments.

"The only person I knew who would take my velvet coins was mister Devah, and honestly I am not all to sure why he takes those either. But I guess we can always try it out if we have the chance." Cherry always found it strange that some demons would just drop coins upon defeating them. But she never really questioned it too much. Better not to look a gift horse in the mouth. She didn't answer or make any comments about her correct guess that Cherry was like her. "I guess that is a good thing. Although I am not sure how much longer I can hide my arm from these people." Cherry was walking with her left arm close to the wall, trying to hide it as best as she could. "And I think they are looking at you because you're so tall. You know miss Helanna is around your height, actually a little shorter even....... Do some women just go through huge growth spurts? A-am I going to go through that? Because I don't really like the idea of that." Cherry very much enjoyed her lighter frame. It let her move around easier, even if her arm kept her down.

Continuing to walk she smiled "Well we live in a city, there are a lot of people that can fight demons there... but granted they are not the best group of people... if you have powers that they don't like they just get rid of you... so some of us have to hide our powers. the annoying thing is the people in power are using Demons to do what ever they want, least it seems that way from what I can tell that's happening in the city, it's really strange..." she said as they continued on.

"Not sure who this Helanna person is, but I am surprised to hear she is nearly my height... I only got this tall thanks to Astarte, my Demon" she said lifting up her gloves and undoing their hiding form before returning them to hiding "She has an affect on my body, and a bit on my mind, but she helped me escape the lab I was stuck in" she said nonchalantly as she looked around "I would have to say how you grow depends on your own body and what your partner's influence over it will be just never let it take control if you don't like what it's doing... if you have a partner I mean" as she turned a corner she spotted a cafe'

"Wanna grab something to eat? I still got some cash on me.... a lot of cash actually.. one my last few fights so still got a good amount left... as for getting back, we will likely get back the same way we got here... suddenly and without us doing anything to leave just like how we got here in the first place.. as for taking to long.. for all we know time doesn't move here the same as back were we are from, for one thing... it was earlier in the morning where I was... and then I appeared here and the time is totally different" she said simply

She would stopped dead and her tracks as she held out a arm to make her stop with her. "Wait hold up. So you're telling me that you all live in a city with enough people to protect or from demons and better supplies. So my question is, why hasn't they do anything to help us!?" Cherry yelled out, clearly very upset and angered by this fact. "Have they done anything to help anybody else that isn't in Endymion, or are they only helping themselves?" As Isabelle gave the young woman more info about what the city was like, the girl's face twisted into one of disgust. What they where doing was vile. "Are you sure they are not the demons? People with the power to fight demons should work together to make this world a better place, not hunting down each other just because they are using a method you don't like! And what do you mean they are using demons? How are they using demons!? We need to kill them, not 'use' them." Where they using demons like Demter was 'using' them? Because if that was the case then after freeing Paris Cherry would have to pay that city a little visit. Assuming of course they can even get out of here.

Isabelle would earn herself another sharp glare as she brought up Cherry's 'partner' once again. And like before the pain in her head shot up, her young brain throbbing as she tried to stay steady. Despite her legs growing a bit shakey. "I'd really rather not go in there. I-" The teen paused before letting out a sigh. She went into a vault despite her fears, and she was even fighting demons now! She couldn't allow herself to be frighted out of going into a simple cafe. "I guess. What do they even serve here anyways?" She asked, not quite aware of what a cafe actually was other than the vague idea that they gave out food and drinks.

"I guess that is good to hear though, maybe when I find my way back only a few minutes would have passed." Of course there was also the chance a few years could pass in her world, but she did not want to think about that right now.

On those questions of why the city didn't do anything to help people she sshrugged "We have been told by the people that run the city that the rest of the world is in utter ruin and that we are all that's left.... I don't believe that Bullshit for a moment though... As to the second question... no they really haven't been helping anyone else but themselves... you even have to prove yourself to them what ever that means, to be part of their little group and then I guess... they give you powers or something? I really don't know..." she said sounding very annoyed about the whole set up.

"Well from what I have seen. I wouldnt' be surprised if some were demons.. but from what I have heard they just use them. Trust me Cherry if it was up to me... and trust me I have been working to make it so that I at least have SOME say in things in some manner... Those people wouldn't be running the city... as for using demons.. they use them to protect the places they run.. I been to one of those places... not the best place really.. but filled with demons following the people's orders.." she said letting out a sigh "honestly just backed away from that for a bit to help deal with something else that came up with a friend of mine, and even that ended up leading back to things...".

With that all said she lead her into the Cafe and she ordered them some drinks and some cupcakes they had, as well as sandwiches, before walking to a booth table and gesturing for Cherry to join her ""Look trust me I want to figure out what's going on there... so do a group of people... but last I heard situations got a bit out of control, but back to what we are doing now... it's good that you are taking a moment to calm down and at least enjoy a few things here... and good news... they take the money I have" she said with a cheery Attitude.

The blonde's face looked more disgusted by the minute as Isabelle went into more and more detail qbout this strange city that lays within the USA. "W-what the hell do you mean they 'give people powers' you can't just give people powers! It's either something you have, or you don't have!" Even with people like herself, or this Isabelle, who had been tested on and given new limbs or in the older woman's case, gloves, still had to have something special in them. Cherry had overheard many demons talking about how they lost a human in the bonding process. So the idea that the power to fight off demon was not only something that could be given, but that it seemed to be getting hoarded, well it just made the girl's blood boil. "Hmpf. The people running Endymion are just plan evil."

"They are controlling demons!? B-but how!?" The demons always seemed to act like uncontrollable beasts, that only listened to demons stronger then them. Honestly though this little bit of knowledge only made Cherry more sure of the fact that the people who where in control of the Endymion city where nothing more then subtle demons. She would have to tell people back in Paris about this once she found a way back home. They needed to know about all of this. "Well........ I am sure things will work out for you in the end." Cherry would awkwardly say. Not really having enough context about what Isabelle and her friend where going through to really comfort her.

The cafe was decently empty, with only the workers and a elderly couple in at the moment. While Isabelle was busy ordering for them both Cherry just stood around, trying to hide her arm from view. Which thankfully was pretty easy to do since everybody was focused on Isabelle. Bo doubt because of her height and her flashy clothes. Cherry would soon join her at the booth, crossing her legs together and pressing her wooden demon weapon up against the wall. "It would be nice to try some food that wasn't cooked over a camp fire for once. What did you order by the way?"

"I mean people without powers are taken in and then they come out with them, I don't know how it works but that's what happens, Though i agree with you the people running the place are evil.. though I get the feeling it wasn't always like that. As for controlling Demons, trust me if I knew how they were doing that too I would try to put a stop to that..." she said as she answered the girls question about people just getting powers, and on the comments about Endy in general, She didn't mind them they were all questions or comments she once asked herself, or she thought of when she had nothing to distract her in those few times that Astarte didn't nag at her to get some sort of excitement in.

She had noticed people staring at her though, and she didn't mind it one bit really, she was fully used to it, and she actually checked over the crowd to see if there was anyone interesting for later... After all she had no clue how long she would be here for anyway and some.. distractions would be handy to have if it turned out to be a long time. But as Cherry asked her what she ordered she smiled "Just some sandwiches, hope you don't mind Turkey, Bacon, Swiss, one of my favorites and I wasn't sure what you would want.... I also got a hot chocolate for myself, and one for you, though if you want tea we can ask for a small pot so you can have that too... oh and some cupcakes" she smiled happily, glad to be able to get something sweet

Cherry went deathly quiet for a few seconds after Isabelle made more comments about how people could just walk in and get power. She was worried about this before, but this really made her worries sky rocket. "Do these people use weapons to fight? Like magical swords and stuff. Or do they use, like. Weird spirit ghosts to fight?" If they did use weapons then that means that Demter's influence was much wider and stronger then Cherry had first thought. And that was a thought that both sent chills down her spine and made her blood boil. "It does not matter if the people where once good. They have become evil, something that happens when you work with demons. And they need to go." The girl's sour mood had reached to the point that the idea of trying to save or bring the leaders back to the side of good hadn't even crossed her mind. All she wanted to was to see those people punished. If they where doing the same thing Demter did to her, they had to go.

"I never had any of those things, so they're fine. I have heard from my mom that cupcakes are pretty good though. I have already wanted to try some." Cherry's mood seem to lighten up just a bit as she brought up her mother and her desire to eat the small sweet. Although it was still plain to see how nervous and twitchy she was, even if she was looking forward to the meal.

Hearing the words come from Cherry, Isabelle couldn't help but worry how for the girl, she clearly hated demons to the point of not even accepting that the thing on her arm... or rather that WAS her harm by the looks of it... Was a Demon and likely the only thing letting her fight off demons in the first place, learning to accept it and use it is what helped Isabelle survive. Though she took a moment, she really couldn't guess on Cherry's situation so she decided to leave that alone for now.

Though there was something she herself had to comment on as she looked at her hands thoughtfully "Guess that means you think I will turn evil too at some point huh?" she said as she reminded the girl that her gloves were in fact a Demon. "I need to show you something after we eat short stuff" she said as the food them showed up along with their drinks and the cupcakes

"For now Dig in Hun" she said cheerfully as she picked up her sandwich and took a bit out of it enjoying the taste and smiling at Cherry.

"Not if you keep it under control." Cherry replied to her simply. Not really putting much thought or effort in her answer. Cherry's view on the bonded where much different then demons themselves. And that applied to their demonic weapons aswell. The bonded where victims. Forced to have their body, and from what she could understand, their souls messed with and forcefully changed to house a demon. It was a vile act. And the weapons, while they where still demons, where slightly better then demons in their true form. Seeing as they could no longer harm anybody while in their new form. And while she wasn't a fan of people using demonic powers, if it was for the use of fighting against demons and you could keep the weapon under control then there was no real problem with it. And there was also the chance that the older woman's gloves could be one of the mythically rare demons that where good people.

"Short stuff?" She repeated, a slightly amused glint in her eye. "I am not short. I am perfectly average size for a girl my age, you're just tall." Cherry said, before she froze up as the waiter came with their food. Once again, the guy seemed to be much more interested in Isabelle for reasons that went over the teen's head. Sure she was very tall, but one would think that a girl with a huge wooden arm would gather more looks. "Anyways want are you planning on showing me?" Cherry never did like surprises. She always hated having to wait for things, she just didn't see the point in delaying a gift or in this case knowledge.

The first thing Cherry went for was the cupcake. And the second she bit down on it her face twisted into a big smile. The teen was delighted by her first real sweet.

HEaring the girls simple answer Isabelle had to wonder how she would react to what she was going to show her later, but for now she simply decided to enjoy the food, the good news was it seemed the girl finally calmed down, odd that she was able to distract her with talk about Endy first and then talk about more enjoyable things. Well at least the girl was relaxing finally Staying that wound up wouldn't do the girl any good anyway, she was more likely to burn herself out rather then be helpful to anyone. Then again Isabelle had to remind herself that she didn't know their situation in Paris so she really couldn't say what was a good or bad thing, she could only say based on her life in Endy which despite it's problems sounded like it was a far sight better then Paris at the moment... though that didn't mean it couldn't be improved.

Taking another bite of her sandwich Isabelle couldn't help but notice Cherry's reaction to the waiter, but that had passed already and she simply finished her mouthful of sandwich and watched as Cherry's face split into a smile, making her smile a bit more as it was clear the girl hadn't had a sweet before "Well hun I have no clue how old you are, so yeah Short stuff, granted I guess I could call anyone that" she said looking off to the side and winking at two girls sitting at another table before looking back to Cherry "Oh and watch it with the drink, it's hot" she cautioned as he took a sip of her own hot chocolate sighed a bit at the wonderful taste and relaxing a bit in her seat.

"As for what I want to show you... best to leave it for later, not sure about you but I like surprises" she said with a smirk as she was leaving her cupcake for last.

"Yeah well I don't know how old I am either. I know I am older then ten, probably by a decent amount, I just don't have a solid number in my mind." It wasn't that big of a issuse for the girl, after all it's not like there was any age law up on the surface. Sure it was a little bit strange for Cherry to not know her own age but in the end it was fine. "Hmmmmm~ Yeeeh I vill." The teen replied as she continued stuffing cupcakes into her mouth. Despite this however she would continue to speak with her mouth full. Over all the way she ate was very rushed and without any common table manners. She would snag the food with her right hand and shovel it into her mouth, she took huge bites out of them, her feet where pulled up, almost like she was getting ready to bolt up and either run away or protect her food, and of course as mention before, she spoke with her mouth full.

Cherry shook her head and tired to say something back to her, but the sheer amount of cupcake in her mouth barely let any noise out. The blonde would swallow down the food and would then repeat herself. "I do not." She said as she reached for more food, only for her bare hand to hit a totally empty plate. Cherry turned her head in confusion and would continue to move her hand around a bit, before she let out a little "Huh. I guess there was food on here then I first thought."

"Well I know the feeling... I don't quite know my age ether, so I started counting when I got my partner" she said to the girl as she enjoyed her sandwich and she seen Cherry just demolishing her food she gestured to the Waiter for more but this time just sandwiches as she smiled, it was good to see the girl had an apatite at least though she seemed to focus only on the food rather then the drink, which Isabelle was taking a sip of as she smiled at Cherry. Though she takes the time to look around for anyone else that caught her or Astarte's attention, and she noticed that while everyone was looking at her table... just like Cherry had said.. they all seemed to be looking at Isabelle only.

Though hearing she didn't like surprises she giggled a bit "Well I would show you here but if I did everyone here would be staring even more and I doubt you want that" she said looking at a table with a couple at it and she winked at them both and waved to them, absolutely shameless in her active flirting, though when she heard Cherry mention the food she smiled "Well glad I gestured for more sandwiches... but this time slow down hun, I want to enjoy my food too.. try your drink okay? it should have cooled a little by now... and give the sandwich a try" she giggled a bit, As Astarte was feeling motherly at the moment affecting Isabelle as well.

It seems as if the labs in Endymion didn't have any way for people to keep tack of the time either. Which wasn't all that big of a suprise honestly. Those monsters kept her, and many other 'test subjects' in jail cells. If they wheren't going to put effort into giving them a nice living space, why would they spring for a clock or a calender? In fact, Cherry was pretty sure they used it as a form of torture. After all, when your not able to tell the time, the days all start to blend with each other. It was crazy has something as simple as not being able to see the sun going up and down could effect a person. Just the thought of it, remembering the effect it had on her. It almost made the teen start shivering in her seat. Somehow she delayed this by stuffing more cupcakes into her mouth. Supressing the memories with food, a classic technique.

"No I wouldn't." Cherry's eyes went to Isabelle as she winked and waved at the people sitting at another table. This caused Cherry to once again try to make herself as small as possible. "Stop doing that! You're making everybody look at us." She said in a low tone. Before she started to eat again, this time slowing down and eating like a normal person. "Why where you doing that anyways? I can get the waving, but why where you winking at them? Was there something funny I missed?"

Isabelle smiled as she at her second sandwich as the waiter arrived with the extra food and then left, she looked to Cherry as she clearly answered her and was surprised to hear the girl asking her why she was doing that, then she smiled, maybe the girl didn't have any influence from her demon? Well might as well let them know though it meant talking quietly, but it was something she might as well tell her, though truth be told due to Astarte's influence everyone was looking at Isabelle rather then paying any attention to Cherry so it was a good thing.

So leaning in close she whispered after the waiter left "Well I am doing it because My Partner Astarte wants to do it... and I see no harm it in... also if I give them some attention.. she keeps their attention on me rather then them noticing anything about you, so it's kinda win win... as for the winking well.. Astarte has certain tastes so getting those settled later is easier if I set pu some company for later, and it stops her from getting grumpy and giving me a headache" she informed Cherry "one of the down sides of being paired with a Goddess I guess" she said with a shrug as she takes a sip of her hot chocolate.

"Taste........? What is she hoping that those people will give you their food?" Cherry asked as she washed down her sandwich with some hot chocolate. She didn't really understand but she was more focused on Isabelle's other comment about her bonded 'partner.' "And I thought you said Astarte was a demon?" From Cherry's understanding demons and gods where very different. On one hand demons where evil creatures, fiends that want to cause nothing but death and chaos. While the gods where kind beings, that tried their best to help people. If Astarte was a goddess, and that wasn't just some lie the demon told the older woman or a slip of the tongue that just open up a whole can of worms. At first Cherry just assumed that only demons could be bonded with a human, but who knows how much those demons could do!?

If they could bond a goddess what was next? Maybe they'll start turning planets into weapons? Or solar systems, or galaxies! It was all just so bone chilling for the girl to think about. "You where bonded to her right? In a lab? Where is it?" Cherry asked, her worry about the bonding process finally reaching a boiling point. It may take a really long time, but if they could spread to other countries and turn gods into weapons they had to be stopped. All of them. And destorying their little labs was a good way to start.
