| Nikola Sasha "May God forgive you...because I won't."
The Biography
|
Birth Name: Nikola Sasha Aliases: Niko Gender: Male Age: 22 Birth Day: 24th December Arcana: The Priestess - Portrayed as an old woman with a closed book, the Priestess Arcana is a symbol of hidden knowledge or other untapped power, wisdom, female mystery and magic. Status: Vault Dweller Profession: None
Base & Transformed Appearance: - Spoiler:
Nikola is a fairly frail-looking individual. He's not particularly tall, barely standing at 170cm, and has never been well-built physically, weighing around 55kg, which makes his presence rather unimposing by itself if one were to consider only his outer features. His hair is of a light brown color and quite wavy/curly, growing a bit past shoulder length and is kept well trimmed, giving him an angelic aspect. Those traits, alongside the lack of facial hair, causes Nikola to not rarely appear younger than he actually is, as if still in his middle teen years. Once he opens his mouth to promote his speeches, however, said presumed innocence dissipates instantly and instead of looking like a young teenager, he looks like a precocious young teenager with wisdom beyond his years.
Another common trait of Nikola is that he's usually seen with his eyes closed, and there's a reason for this: he's blind by birth. Therefore, not many people have seen his eye colors whatsoever, or know that his irises are actually cloudy/misty. Nevertheless, it doesn't prevent him from being always clean and well-dressed, with a modest choice of attire that compliments his image of a servant of God as well as a good-nature person.
His transformed appearance is not outstandingly different. The only differences are the subtle, such as the golden, macabre color his eyes earn (which are rare to be seen, as Nikola keeps them closed most of the time), the unusual cold sensation to his skin. His voice gets less mellow and melodic, and slightly more hoarse, guttural, but it's still recognizably Nikola speaking.
Personality: While Nikola may not seem a threatening or outstanding individual judging from his looks (with the possible exception of his longer-than-usual hair), he more than makes up with his presence of spirit. He is an extremely well-mannered, soft/well-spoken individual with a predilection for politeness, formality and good behavior no matter what. His voice resonates with such calm that one can wonder if this guy is ever able to say a bad/curse word or yell at any person; he's often seen smiling, illustrating a typical good humor that's hard to shake and a constant positive attitude towards life in general in order to provide moral support to whoever in need.
Inside, Nikola is a spiteful, embittered, vengeful and scheming person. After the traumatic event of a demon assault in Vault of Lemuria that resulted in the loss of his entirely family and barely his own life, he grew resentful of nearly everyone in his surroundings for allowing his demise and specially God Himself, abandoning his christian beliefs with a crescent, conflictuous love/hate feeling of betrayal. The main targets of his hatred and venom are the self-proclaimed leaders of their Lemuria community, formerly Howell and now Rosario, Armando and whoever may have sided with them. Prior to the demon assault, Nikola used to believe people's actions towards his blindness were motivated by honest concern and will to assist, which made him feel an equal part of the people from Lemuria. Having noticed their change in approach to a much more submissive, careful undertone, Nikola believes they still do it out of guilt and remorse, which fuels the assumptions that everyone deliberately let his parents die a gruesome death by the hands of demons.

The Potential
|
Strengths: (Anything your character is skilled in, such as Martial Arts/ Drawing/ etc? You are allowed a maximum of five strengths and a minimum of three.)
—Strength Name: Mental Recovery —Description: Any skills with a set number of turns as a condition before being allowed to function again, be it automatic activation or user’s cast, have their cooldown permanently reduced by 1 turn.
—Strength Name: Cunning Demeanor —Description: Tactical skills receive 10% boost in their effects. For the specific case of Gambler's Miracle, it also increases the chance of the positive effects by 5% (making it 15% for each one of the 5, granting a total of 75% chance) while reducing the chance of the negative effects by 5% (making it 5% for the symmetric 5, for a total of 25%).
—Strength Name: Alliance Connection —Description: When supporting a team, each use and demon/shadow defeated counts towards Nikola’s rank ups as well.
—Strength Name: Dream Seer —Description: Nikola has developed short episodes of future sight since childhood and this is probably the only situation where he actually can see and experience the sense of vision. It's up to the GM to tell what Nikola can or cannot see about other characters, be them players or non-playable. In battle, this means he's able to identify an enemy's affinities beyond Strengths: he can also tell whenever an attack is gonna be completely nullified, reflected or absorbed.
—Strength Name: Enhanced Perception —Description: Nikola is able to identify the presence of shadows, demons or people who have awakened to their potential, whatever it may be, in the vicinity. He can feel how many are around and even pinpoint their location in a 15 meter radius.
----- ((A floating Strength is a strength you've gained inRP. For example, if you were on a Kendo team for some time, you'd naturally know Kendo which is where this strength would come in. However, be aware, it will not be as strong as any of your actual strengths and is a small plus)
—Floating Strength Name: —Description:
Weaknesses: (You must have the same amount of weaknesses as strengths. These weaknesses pertain to you and not your Persona. IE: Physically Weaker, lack of attention span, etc.)
—Weakness Name: Blindness I: Can't Hit —Description: Self-explanatory. Any direct skill/attack cast by Nikola has an increased 10% miss rate.
—Weakness Name: Blindness II: Can't Dodge —Description: Any direct skill/attack cast on Nikola has an increased 10% chance of landing.
—Weakness Name: Blindness III: Can't Walk —Description: Nikola moves at a half the regular speed during dungeon crawling turns compared to other characters. Regular word count requirements would apply, however unless under the effect of a movement/speed-increasing skill, Nikola would achieve half the results normal players would. When within a group, it increases the word counting of the whole group by half the normal value. However, if Nikola is attached to another player (to assist him with movement, either by serving as a guide, either by carrying him around), then the increased requirements transfer solely to said player. Naturally, this has to be a mutual agreement.
—Weakness Name: Blindness IV: Can’t Shoot —Description: Nikola cannot use a gun whatsoever. He hasn’t received any training with guns and naturally his visual deficiency impedes the proper maneuver of one.
—Weakness Name: Weakened Body —Description: Nikola receives 10% extra damage when hit.
----- ((A floating weakness is one gained in RP. It could be a fear you inherited during RP, or an injury that hinders your character. Some can be temporary while others can be permanent.)
—Floating Weakness Name: —Description:
Soul Bound Weapon: (This is the weapon you'll be able to summon to your hand while in combat. This weapon is special for your character specifically and can also form when you transform into your True Self. This can be anything but a Gun (Or gun related weapon unless pre-purchased with a Nihil Soul))
Weapon Name: Crux Cane Weapon Description: A golden walking cane with a cross handler that's 36 inches long. Weapon Image: - Spoiler:
Weapon Attack Type: Strike Weapon Element: (Leave this blank. Only special weapons obtain an element behind its blows.)
Side-Arm Weapon: (This is a ranged alternative to your main soulbound weapon. All Side-Arms at base do the same type of damage (Gun), and you're limited by ammunition. Unlike soulbound weapons, Side-Arms have various different styles of fire that set them apart instead of damage type. The different styles of firearms can be found below. Read more about guns here)
Side-Arm Name: Side-Arm Description: (What it looks like) Side-Arm Image: (Not necessary) Side-Arm Attack Type: Gun Side-Arm Style: (Choose one of the three below -
Precision Style - Single Shot - Base Accuracy of 90%. +10% to Critical Hit Rate. Hits a single enemy. 6 Rounds per Magazine. 54 Reserves Capacity
Automatic-Fire Style - Scatter Shot - Base accuracy of 80%. Hits all enemies. Spends 1 Bullet per enemy. Magazine Size of 30. Reserves Capacity of 90.
Burst-Fire Style - Multi-Round - Base Accuracy of 70%. Hits a single target twice. Consumes 2 rounds to per trigger pull. Magazine Size of 12. Reserves Capacity of 36.)

The Background
|
History: There isn't much to know about Nikola other than what he allows people to know. He has built a reputation since his childhood years of a lonely, albeit reliable, gentle and kind child who became attached to religious beliefs and the faith that, one day, he'd experience a miracle that would allow him to see the world with his own eyes, just like any other normal child. That's, naturally, the tale his parents used to tell him to give him hope and prevent any growth traumas or sense of abnormality. As a side effect, it made the young Nikola an incredibly devoted child, far more than his own parents, so much that his dream was to become a priest and spread the word of God among the other dwellers, other vaults so people would regain their faith, reconnect with the will of the Lord, truly develop as a community and restore humanity. Such connection with religion and the history of mankind also made Nikola fairly afraid of a demon invasion. Whenever he tried to warn Lemuria's community and even his parents about the possibility of another invasion, naturally he got ignored, with Nikola's pleas being faced with disbelief as raw religious fanaticism, delusions of an impressionable child and quickly dismissed. However, his crescent concern had a reason other than raw worry: Nikola kept this for himself most of the time, but he had visions, like dreams. In these visions, he could see everything. The faces of people, the vaults burning, a lot of menacing creatures, fuzzy images, a confusion of sounds and colors he had never known before. How could he, if he was blind? But in these dreams, Nikola was normal like every other child, in these dreams he could meet and talk to everyone, recognizing their faces without never looking at them before. As time went by, the dreams became more frequent, Nikola became more alarmed, Lemuria became more impatient.
And, sadly, the demon invasion to Vault Lemuria became true.
As unexpected as brutal, it caused the death of his parents. Nikola couldn't see what was going on, but the screams, the despair... he didn't have to see, he has seen it all before. The jerks, the shoves, the stomps on his body, the wounds on his limbs; that, he could feel very well. In his final moments, he prayed for some mercy from God, to save the people from Lemuria and save his parents whose voices he couldn't hear anymore. The excruciating pain caused him to pass out in the middle of the invasion, only to awake days later after being rescued, to the report he was the sole survivor of his family, a revelation that completely broke the mental state of an already confused and disoriented Nikola. Believing it wasn't meant for the demon invasion to happen after years of warning nor for him to be alive out of his disability, Nikola had a different outlook: instead of taking this event as a miracle and opportunity of a rebirth, deep inside the seed of distrust was starting to sprout from a desolated land such as a shattered heart. Of course rationally the kid understood the concept of war, demonic assaults and self-preservation and how it's impossible to aim for every person to protect and save. However, emotionally he couldn't stand the idea of being powerless enough to not prevent this tragedy and the loss of countless lives when everyone chose to ignore his warnings, powerless enough to not make himself heard as well receiving mercy instead of his parents, which he deemed undeserving. At points, Nikola wondered if someone ever dared to help them escape or if they thought it wasn't needed because they could run by/protect themselves, shielding such egotistical, unempathetic belief behind the lame, vile excuse of being under attack. What could be seen as generosity and sympathy, Nikola deemed as pity and betrayal from the people he grew accustomed to as community and the very God he had sworn to adore, to whom he prayed everyday only to be cast away at the most pivotal moment of his life.
From that point on, he changed. Of course, to others Nikola still retains a polite, humble, peaceful, if only slightly melancholic demeanor that may cause people to wonder how strong he had to become in order to recover from such a heavy loss, having to live alone and with a crippling disability while still maintaining his faith in God. To himself, God was past dead and so were all these people who did nothign to prevent their demise when they had the chance. It's easy to build paranoia when the world is perpetually dark to you and you can't see where you are treading on or who sides with you, but not as easy when you must depend on these people to keep living and carry on. Nowadays, Nikola lives out of people's charity, while orchestrating some way to return the same damage and end the most influential figures from formerly Vault Lemuria. Hard to do when you're blind, as one can assume. But perhaps, not so hard when you have everyone believing your façade and feeling sorry for the life you lead, as well as paying attention to what you have to say as a voice of reason. Sometimes, pity may be a good thing to explore on your favor...

| Okay, a few things.
First, I'll only allow 1 Cooldown reducing skill, as I do not want to bypass restrictions placed on extremely powerful abilities like Zero Set, and other skills with cooldowns, as they are there to balance out the skills. As such, Mental Recovery is the only one I'll allow. This could get extremely broken otherwise, and I'd rather nip that problem in the bud now.
Blindness is a very strong drawback, so that alone will balance out the Cooldown Reduction. I'd also like a length of your Soulbound Weapon described, purely out of principle.
I'd also like a rework of Cunning Demeanor, as it makes rolling 10 sided dice for it very, very awkward. | |
