Discovery [Amelia's Introduction]

"NO!" Amelia's reaction to Mina's words was as strong as the previous time this was suggested. It even caused her to stick her head out of her impromtu hiding spot, her face wet with tears. It was only momentary, though - realising her overreaction, she backpedaled (both figuratively and semi-literally, returning to the gap between containers). "I mean... There's no need! I don't need comforting. I'm unharmed..." she echoed her previous words. "And... there's no need to apologise for something that was clearly my fault, Mina..."

Mina visibly flinched and took a step backward at Amelia's sudden reaction, which caused her face to blanch a little. She regained a modicum of composure as she listened to the bug's much more sensible explanation as to why she seemed so adverse to leaving the cargo bay, and nodded, response not tinged with the same uncertainty for once but instead in a rather thoughtful voice. "...w-well, it seems the Waddle-Dees are willing to let you stay in the cargo bay, so I guess there is no harm there. You err...may have to interact with a few of the other crewmembers to make other arrangements later, but we can cross that bridge when we come to it..."

The tiny-dee's held up another pad for Mina to read to the new resident that said "is there anything she needs? we can try to get it for her, though we may have to alter the door to allow for a means to pass her things larger then the window if she is okay with that?" the tiny-dee was visibly shaking a little, as it was not used to being seen for so long.

Meanwhile the other Waddle-dee's where still gathering basic supplies like hygiene items, clothing, things of that nature, but the question of a bathroom was going to come up eventually, the Quarters on the ship had them attached, but the Storage rooms were never meant for habitation, so there was that small problem to deal with but the Waddle-dee's decided they would ask about that later after they got other things sorted.

Mina nervously scuffed her boot on the ground as the small waddle-dee held up another message to be relayed to their impromptu guest. She peered through the window again, opening her mouth to speak once more. "I-I think the waddle-dees might have to modify the door if they're to prepare long-term accommodations for you, Amelia," Mina explained to the mantis, echoing the words on the little note the waddle-dee was holding up. "I-is there anything you might need? Th-they're bringing over some things for you at the moment." She added almost belatedly after a short pause, gesturing towards the larger waddle-dees who were bringing over fixtures for the cargo hold.

"T-There's no need to worry about me! I'll manage!" Amelia quickly declared in responce.

"But, uh..." she uncertainly added after a protracted pause. "If you're going to be doing it anyway, some cooked insects and a leaf to rest in would be nice. The spiders are bound to run out eventually..." she seemed to trail off, before hastily getting back on track. "But! If they do that, they'll have to promise to never, ever come in here, even when I'm resting. Is that alright?"

The Waddle-dee's already had some of their number getting the food from the cafeteria, it wasn't as strange an order as some wound think, after all they had a Myriad of other species on the ship so it wasn't out of the ordinary to get such off the norm requests, meanwhile more Waddle-dee's showed up with supplies as the ones getting the food had to wait for the bugs to cook while a few more were in the Arboretum looking for a plant with large enough leaves for the new guest.

By this time the Tiny-Dee's where getting really shy and where leaving the window so they could try to hide out of sight once more, only one of them left there as it was trying to wriggle it's way back into the Hazmat suit designed for their size.

Though to the guests request one waddle-dee held up a note pad, "but what if we need to do maintenance on the room or repairs if the ship is damaged? what if you need medical attention? " it showed the notepad to Mina so she could ask for them.

"I-I guess that's alright then, Amelia." Mina answered as Amelia made her requests. Despite flinching a little at the prospect that the spiders in the cargo hold were all that Amelia had been consuming for the entirety of her stay, respecting her privacy was not at all an unreasonable request.

Her eyes flicked over to the tiny waddle-dee holding up yet another notepad for her to read, which she reiterated for the mantis. "And...the Dees want to know if you'll let them in if there's an emergency, ship maintenance or if you need medical attention. Is that acceptable...?"

"That- I-" Amelia flinched. She clearly had trouble with that question. Eventually, she climbed out of her hidey-hole to face the Dees (or, well, the one remaining visible one) directly, her face conflicted. "Let's... cross that bridge when we reach it as well? Please? This... this isn't just for my sake, it's... for yours as well. Okay?"

"I...okay." Mina agreed after a moment of deliberation. She began to reach her hand out before abruptly stopping.. "O-oh, I can't really shake your ha-well, erm, whatever you use from here - can we just agree to be friends...?" She winced and looked away for a moment, as if bracing for Amelia to react harshly to her proposal.

The WAddle-dee's returned with the bugs and a large set of leaves and even some planting trays with proper lights and the like in case they wanted to sleep on dirt instead of the hard metal floor, even though they had also brought over a bed roll and other supplies as well as a portable medical scanner.

Running over to the altered Vent they wandered in and while staying on their side of the vent they pushed in the food and the other supplies for the new guest as well as the medical scanner, another waddle-dee the note had written on it "Please scan yourself with this device so the doctor can at least enter you into the medical records and we can get any possible medications and first aid supplies you may need, that way we can bring you a kit for smaller injuries"

the Little guys had already thought of a lot of possibilities, a team had also brought in a foldable bathtub and another team was already in the walls reworking the pipes to give the new guest a bathroom to use that would function properly as they were unaware if she would need one or not. still more where already hard at work making a food slot modification and a small door to place in the vent that lead to the vent they were using to pass things into the room so that it would be properly sealed and still keep the girl safe and give them a means to enter and exit in an emergency but it was primarily for passing through things she may need.

and finally another team were shutting off the warning alarm and using scanners to scan from outside the room to log the substance the new guest was talking about so they could add it to their list of monitored chemicals, that way if it ended up anywhere else they could clean it up, but if it was in the room the new guest was in it wouldn't set off the alarms.

With all that done they waited for a reply as they finished passing in the last of the supplies, which was a foldable partition as they assumed she would want privacy for her bathroom area, as well as the bedding and the leaves she asked for with the planter and the like.
