| Rosewater was at first concerned that she had given the wrong answer when she saw her present companion suddenly reach for the back of her neck, surprised by the sudden movement. Perhaps a bit more puzzling, though, was the sudden change in attitude that Ruo seemed to have when responding to her comment on the rock she was holding. She didn't think on it too much, however. It wasn't in her nature to be paranoid, as she hadn't been able to learn the meaning of danger yet, and she was a bit too excited at the offer she had been given to reject.
"Truly? I'd love to have it!" She told her, taking the stone with her delicately crafted hands from Ruo's palm with as much caution as if it had been of glass. Her eyes were alight with excitement, as if she had just found the world's most precious diamond. Cradling her new possession with care in her palm and lightly stroking it for a few seconds, it took her a bit of time and concentration before she could manage to find the right thing to say in the library of words installed inside of her mechanical mind.
"Thank you!" she finally said, grinning happily. She hoped she'd get the hang of being able to chose from all the words she could say more quickly eventually, as it got a bit tiring to have search through her entire vocabulary database every time. Ruo spoke with so much more certainty than her, it must surely be a bit frustrating to her whenever Rosewater had to pause for a few seconds in the middle of a statement.
She barely noticed how much they had slowed down since they had started walking, much too fascinated with her current conversation to really take note of anything else. It was so enjoyable for her to finally talk to someone new, and for more than 5 or ten seconds at a time. If she had been in high spirits when the two had met, it was definitely true at least tenfold by now.
Though she was glad she had been able to answer Ruo's question on her origins well enough, the next thing that her companion wanted to know was not something she liked to reflect on very much. Sure, she had loved the freedom of simply going where-ever she wanted during the day, stopping to stare at nearly everything she saw with great fascination and interest without the need to worry about her creator's judgmental eye on her thirst for knowledge, the hours of the night were a much different story. Much of the activity she enjoyed seeing was gone by then, and her mechanical body would tell her it was time for her to rest. She would simply sit against a nearby wall and stay motionless as her more human-like mechanics restored her energy for the next day. She didn't have the grace to even close her eyes and shut off her mind, programmed to never be the least tempted to give into sloth. She didn't like that part of the night, and her metal 'bones' never seemed to take too kindly to the drop in temperature.
There was little to be said about the next day either, as even to her, this world seemed a bit too large for her than she could ever comprehend. Of course, she would just have to put her best foot forward and continue on her quest to discovery.
"After today as in...after this, right?" she asked, though this time she seemed to be stalling rather than actually wanting to obtain information. She wasn't dumb, after all, just inexperienced.
"I guess I'll go back to Iwaigodai for tonight....sometimes I sit by my creator's home again in case he changes his mind about me" She put on a brave face, but the answer was obvious: No. | |

| At the very least, Rosewater was happy with what she had. Maybe there are other rocks to explore. One that is more optimal. She would soon stop walking and look the opposite way. She had made some decent distance but it was probably time for her to leave. Before she would start her trek back, she would listen to Rosewater as she spoke. She would nod in confirmation to her question. But the last thing she intended to do threw her for a bit of a loop. She would stand outside her creator’s dwelling area? Had that been Ruo inside, she may have tried to end her, but maybe Rosewater had poor upbringings, so could she blame her? Ruo didn’t really put much past her anyway, so maybe she will have something new to offer in time if they ever met again. “If you intend to return to Iwaigodai, I shall walk with you. I am heading there myself,” she said. She would just leave when she could to go to her home. But it couldn’t be avoided that she knew where she was gonna go if she was going to the same place. If Rosewater agreed she would nod and walk the other way presumably with her. If they spoke, it would be about various things, and Ruo would answer any questions she had to the best of her ability. This Rosewater was certainly an interesting character.

| Despite her natural intellect, Rosewater never really knew why she kept going back to that place every so often, as she knew it would always be fruitless. Perhaps it was because it was all she really knew, the one place she had spent more than a few minutes in, and somewhere that was easily able to picture in her mind. All the places she could still visit were indeed fascinating, but also often overwhelming for the robot who had just today discovered what grass was.
She was, at the very least, happy that she could spend at least a few more minutes with the girl she had met today. Her existence was undoubtedly the greatest discovery that she had made so far, and she could only wish she would later meet others that were willing to talk to her for as long as she had.
"I'd like that" she responded, gladly walking beside her, only breaking the silence every once in the while to ask the next question that popped into her mind, including whether or not the 'sun' she had seen in the sky was going to come back tomorrow.
