"Where am I?" Takeru said. He was locked in some kind of... dark space...?
"Oh, don't play dumb. You know EXACTLY where we are." Said a voice.
"N-no... you... you're not... you.."Takeru began to say, before trying to summon his persona.
"T-Twelve! Come out!" Takeru said.
But nothing happened. Takeru could only watch helplessly as nothing came out.
"W-why...?" Takeru said. He decided to try again, and again, but to no avail, eventually being reduced to whimpering wreck.
"W-why..? Why won't it come..?" He asked himself, shuddering as he did so.
"You want an answer? Very well. It's because you can't break the chains. Your chains, in this case, being your fear. Your denial. You can't overcome it can you? All those insecurities, fears, that denial... honestly. It makes me sick. And you wanna know why?" said that same voice.
"No... no.. stay away from me...." Takeru said, now realizing whose voice that was.
It was his.
Slowly, but surely, it whispered everything he feared... everything he didn't want to know...
And the worst part is he could do nothing to fully deny it.
Because everything it said was true.
"No...no...nononononono NO!" He said, yelling as he clutched his head, the words it was saying registering, but not being reacted to with anything other than denial.
"AUUUUUUGHHH!" He shrieked.
And all he could do was scream...
Until he woke up, that is.
"Agh... man, what was that?" Takeru said waking up bolt upright, sweating. "Man... what a nightmare." He remarked. He got up, got some breakfast, and decided to go clear his head outside.
"What was that thing anyway? Man.. I need to go take a walk." He thought as he exited his house.
He decided to take a brief stroll around before finally sitting down on a bench to contemplate his nightmare.
"Ugh... man. Why is it none of my friends are there when you need it?" He remarked to no one in particular as he cradled his head in his hands.
"Simple. Because you have none." said a voice.
"What? Who was that? Who's there?" Takeru said looking around rapidly, only to notice nobody was there.
"Ugh... maybe some jogging will clear my head." He said, as he began to stroll around.
